Nessian Escapades

♦♦♦Sleep did naught to remove the complete and utter shock at the reality of this newfound world. It seemed an nonsensical upgrade, to go from a paltry - albeit flawlessly cleaned - flat to looking up at the parapets of a gigantic stone and mortar monolith that was your new home? It would be akin to walking up to a beggar and giving him the keys to the prime minister's office and house. Everything about the girl hummed with new understanding that before wouldn't have even been a fathomed dreamscape far removed from what was true. It was hard to grapple with, on the one hand the young girl finally had an answer for things she couldn't even begin to explain, on the other a million other doors and avenues of information sprang up and slapped her across the face. She had a stick in her hand that could channel her own magic, that hummed with lively and almost sentient power just waiting for a directive to send it casting into the daylight. All her life had been the utter mundane brand of chaos of a house in shambles and absent family members, and now she sat in a world that was entirely her own and completely separate from them.
How d'ye go from apple bangers and mash at Mums to a bloody castle?!
Sunlight shone in dappling rays through the fingers of the trees, setting towards an evening where she would sleep in a bed that was completely abstract to everything she'd ever known. For the first time in as long as she could remember, she didn't go to bed by herself, didn't have to cook her own dinner, and had nothing to clean. A pair of dark blue eyes blinked as a finger of sunlight landed promptly upon them, highlighting a gaze entirely full of infinite wonder. Julie raised her hands to her eyes to rub the echo of the blinding sun from them, oblivious to the tree twigs that caught at her robes with cloying touches. Julie was tall for her age, and it showed from the stretched look of her features that she had gone through a rather severe growth spurt in the recent year. The manner of her uniform was a bit haphazard, deferring to a pair of trousers and jumper over the proffered skirt option in the dormitory, her buttoned up shirt untucked on the left side and her tie badly done about her neck in an uneven lilt that was still far too off kilter. She wasn't used to clothes as fancy as these, generally deferring to a longsleeve shirt and a pair of jeans, and it visibly showed. The sounds of the grounds surrounded her as she made her progress, a menagerie of birdsong and lapping water with sounds of other students, her gaze intent on the flash of water through the boughs.
The lake at the least was something she was familiar with, a vast expanse of water possibly housing a magnificent monster of some incomprehensible grandeur, and it was what she needed most right now. A touch of home in a world so vastly different than the one she used to belong to. "Used ta, huh." The thought rang through her mind before she could stop it, her trainers plodding through the increasingly wet turf that lead her closer to the lake's edge. It should scare her, the fact that nothing in her life would ever be the same again, but all it did was make her head whir with all the things she didn't yet understand. The only bad thing was the inability to bring her Mum into the fantastical place she found herself in, and it still caused a sore spot to gnaw at her heart. She squatted by the waterside between two dark trees that rimmed the edge, leaning over the water to look at her dark ruddy brown hair tied back and her far away expression. She was all alone again, in a castle filled with people her own age and older, in a world with magic in it, and a lake she'd overheard housed a bloody giant octapus!
An how in Merlin's hand do ye call a Kraken fer tea?!

Julie is Clumsy, I roll a dice to see if she drops things/falls over. This does not apply to Quidditch.

Nessian Escapades

First year and second year, Luna wondered what was the difference between them. Those firsts and seconds were just the same, from mind to body. Between the second and third, she wasn't sure if they were still alike. But from first to second, Luna couldn't see anything different. To be fair, it was just the start of the second year. It was hard to say anything, but maybe people would change mentally more than physical. After all, people said Luna was much more difference before joining Hogwarts and after.
The purple-haired girl wouldn't say she looked too much different from last year though, the only thing that changed was her hair. Her height as well, it was something that should be mentioned. She wasn't tall but based on the fact she was still in the growing age, the Slytherin Prefect wasn't surprised that she grew more and more. She might even be able to grow taller than Water Tap and Kokonut, who knew?
Her hair used to be straight and pretty long, with a bang that was cut perfectly not to cover her eyes. Luna was not someone who cared about fashion like that stupid flying professor. That woman didn't deserve to be a professor. Back to her hair, she also didn't hate, there was no reason for her to change anything.
Then, the birthday of Oliver Choi came and changed everything. She did some stupid stuff for his birthday's present, and her hair now was curly, not as much as Water Tap's, but still curly. She could ask Alex, her big brother, to help her fix to her normal hairstyle. But then, there were some reasons for her not to do it.
First of all, Oliver said it was nice, seeing her with this hairstyle. There was a chance her brother was just being polite, but she doubted that. After all, the person she was talking about wasn't Alex. It was Oliver, and that boy, didn't know how to lie. He said both of her hairstyles looked nice, so she could keep or change it back either way.
The second reason would be laziness. The lamest, but also the most logical reason.
Turn back to where she was standing which was also her favorite place, the library. The only thing that changed here would be the number of books. There were even more than last year, which meant she wouldn't be too bored when classes ended. Now she was not in the mood to read, so these precious books would be for the later.
The lavender haired girl walked out of the library and started walking downstairs. The kids were so loud. Not that those older ones were quiet anyway. Just take a look at the pictures hanging on the wall, people there had lived inside for ages and they were just as loud as these kids, screaming about stuff she didn't care. It was just the same as last year, which was pretty annoying.
However, if most of the things were just another version of last year, then the Great Lake had to be as well. If it was true, it would save her from this horrible place. That place was one of the quietest places in the school. Some books mentioned about some creatures which lived in the water, but they were there to protect Hogwarts students and had no intention to harm them. Also, they already mentioned that those creatures lived underwater, not on land. That meant as long as she didn't fall and didn't come near the water, they wouldn't be able to hurt her.
Not being close to the water could mean being in a lot of places, on a tree would also be included. As long as she was still sitting on a tree, she would be safe. Luna learned that technical since long ago when she had just arrived Hogwarts.
A girl? Then, her happiness disappeared as soon as her eyes caught the sign of another human here. That also meant climbing on the tree would be a no. She hadn't tried climbing since before summer break came. That time, she fell off the tree while climbing for around two times. She hadn't practiced since then, which also meant her skill had become much worse, and Luna didn't want to embarrass herself in front of another person, no matter if they were strangers or not. That girl could hear Luna's footsteps from behind since the Slytherin Prefect didn't have any intention of hiding herself from her.
Standing next to a tree, she quietly rolled her eyes and looked around this place. So quiet she believed she could even hear her breathing. If she had a book right now, that would be great...
