Alexx was really going to have her ass for this one.

She had been told to cover the Quidditch match. She had been told to get down to the Quidditch pitch 15 minutes before the game started, to take notes and perhaps provide some commentary at the commentary box. Instead, she had slept in, and continued to sleep in, and eventually completely forgot about her assigned job. Stumbling down the grounds with only one shoe on and a total rat's nest in her hair, Ami burst onto the Quidditch pitch, her hair frazzled and her expression panicked. What on earth would Alexx say if she found out how late she had been to the gam-

Crap, Alexx was actually playing in the game. So that was why she had asked her to cover it... shifting her legal pad in her hands awkwardly, Ami edged her way to the stands, looking for an empty spot to sit. She, of course, did not know the Amplification charm, so she couldn't really be a proper commentator... but she could certainly write everything down, right? Glancing at the scoreboard, she bit her lip, and started to take notes. In her head, she could only imagine her harsh American accent floating across the whole field, narrating each and every player's move...

Laaaaadies and gentlemen, welcome to the Ravenclaw versus Slytherin Quidditch game! I'm your commentator, that one Hufflepuff chick with the notoriously hard-to-spell last name, Ami Procoppio. If you got a problem with my voice, take it up with my diaphram, will you? I've got a game to comment on.

I've got to say, Slytherin really did bring their a-game with that first score, eh? Cazares snatches the ball- er, Quaffle, sorry, right off the bat and immediately zoomity-zooms on over to Warbeck, Ravenclaw's Keeper, scoring like the fricking queen she is. Girl power, am I right? Maybe Warbeck needs some glasses? Whatever- nice try man, better luck next time. Kirkland seems to be trying to be productive with his bat, whapping it around... but it's just a swing and a miss for him. No one really seems to be moving much, they must not have warmed up, or somethin'.

The Seekers, Dewlight and Palmer, are just, uh... well, could they please just do something? I thought Seekers were supposed to be the coolest part of the game, or something like that- but right now, really, I've only got my eyes on Cazares. Seriously, what a queen. We stan.

And there they go again! Who even are those people? Uh... Perscivious- what kind of a last name is that? Arc, Cloven, Cazares, and Alexx are all heading towards the Quaffle- oop, Cazares, what was that? Cloven grabs the Quaffle, and- HOLY SMOKES, watch out, would you! Kingsleigh almost annihilates Arc with a Bludger, who decided that this was a school sport? But wait, Ravenclaw's Beaters have their sights set on Huang... but they miss! Dammit, aim better next time.

... and Cloven scores! Wow, these Keepers really suck, don't they?

Cloven gets the Quaffle again, what a legend- and oop, look at those Beaters go! Man, their muscles must be huge- so jealous. Miss, miss, miss, mi- OUCH! That looks like it hurt... poor Kingsleigh. Send her flowers for me, won't you?

... and a foul for Alexx of House Slytherin! What happened to that 'clean game' we were talking about earlier? Really, how rude of her to try to blatch someone, awful etiquette, truly ba- but what's this? Cloven tries to score, but nope! Get outta here, girl! Huang has the Quaffle!

Look at this rapid turn of events! Who knew the little punk had it in him? Score's 10-10, folks, with no sign of the Snitch yet.

Oh, look at this kid. Look at this kid, what kind of a pass was that? An attempted pass from Huang to Cazares is intercepted by none other than Ravenclaw's clearly star player, Cloven. Already, she's zooming back down towards Huang, chucking it at him- but it's another save by the first year! This kid is on fire- saves two goals, and what's this? Dodging a bludger? What a bro.

Biting the tip of her pencil anxiously, Ami observed the gameplay a bit more before continuing to scribble away in her legal pad. So much was happening, how on earth was she supposed to keep up? Rubbing her hands together, she watched the Quidditch players zoom about the field, crinkling her nose at all of their antics. A small flash of red caught her eye- was that the Quaffle, or an apple? Probably an apple.

Her gaze lingered slightly on Alexx, the blonde Slytherin who had so rudely and wonderfull invaded her life this year. Oh, how she wanted to be biased and stand up to whoop and holler in support... but she was a journalist. A writer! What was Elena always rambling about? Journalistic integrity, or whatever? Well, she had been chosen to report on the Quidditch match because she was neither a Slytherin nor a Ravenclaw, and she was going to uphold her promise to Alexx to do a good job on it.

With a sigh, Ami tore her eyes away from the blonde, forcing herself to pay attention to the game once more, her fantastical daydreams of playing commentator resurfacing in her mind as the whoops and cheers of the houses enveloped her senses.

Eh, what's this? Both Palmer and Dewlight seem to have sights set on the Snitch, although Palmer's already sprung into action. Slytherin Keeper Huang heaves the Quaffle at Cazares again, trades looks with Jones and Palmer, and then leaves his post to go... what the heck even is that? Huang flings Palmer across the field towards the snitch, but the effort is for naught as Arc from Ravenclaw scores and Palmer misses the snitch.

What a ride!

OH MY GOD WHO LETS KIDS PLAY THIS GAME? Riddle from Slytherin is down, in an effort to save Palmer from the destructive fate of the Bludger! Bad luck, I guess. And- holy CRAP, what did Palmer ever do to you, huh? Sparrow knocks Palmer from his broom with quite the wallop, but- AND ALEXX HAS PALMER! Alexx catches Palmer and seats him on her broom, thank goodness she managed to pull that off. Crazy!

Score is 20-10, Ravenclaw leading.

Ami's mouth dropped as she watched the events before her unfold; there was thrill, undeniable thrill, but there was also admiration and shock interlaced with it. She could understand why people liked Quidditch, now, with her first full game from the stands tucked firmly under her belt. She could see how people could become obsessed with the sport, how they could completely idolize someone on their favorite team. She understood now.

Her eyes widened as she watched Alexx get nailed in the side, but her heart dropped as she saw the Seeker fall off his broom. This was some, like, professional-level stuff! She shot to her feet as she saw Palmer catch the snitch, and she couldn't help but cheer loudly... and wave half-heartedly to Alexx- you know, just in case she happened to see it.

The Hufflepuff grinned as she tucked her pencil back behind her hair and tucked her legal pad under her arm, wanting to leave before the crowd started filing out and creating a foot-traffic jam. She would have to congratulate Alexx later, of course... and she was disappointed (?) that Ravenclaw lost.... right? She was impartial! That's the sole reason she was assigned to do this. She was pleased with how the match had turned out, of course, but maybe she was just pleased that Alexx's team had won. Who knew?

Holy moly, guys! What a match. Ravenclaw Chaser Quinn is taking a penalty lap around the pitch, while Cazares and the Ravenclaw Keeper are battling for control over the Quaffle- Cazares breaks away with the Quaffle, ducks around Wengist and scores! Another 10 points to Slytherin!

Alexx and Palmer are sharing a broom, searching for the snitch and their souls... but uh-oh! Sparrow and Rowley (what a team) are headed their way, they'd better watch out... Rowley misses, but Sparrow nails the two of them right in the side, what a shot! Erm, but poor Alexx and Palme- OH MY GOD! Do children play this game? Palmer falls off the broom again, but Alexx manages to hang on tight- Palmer grabs the snitch, Jones catches him!

What a way to end the match! Ravenclaw v. Slytherin has come to a close, and Slytherin wins by clutchin' that snitch, the score's 170-20. I've been your commentator, Ami Procoppio... and wow guys- what a game. What a match.
