Of all the places that she wanted to be right now, the Quidditch pitch of Hogwarts was decidedly towards the bottom of the list. It was a brisk Saturday morning, after all, and being huddled beneath her blanket in the warmth of her dorm was sounding awfully tempting right about now. But, she had committed to watching a bunch of younger students fly around on the pitch in a scrimmage, and she was going to follow through on her commitment. She didn't know many of the people who had signed up, so even if there were a few familiar faces in the crowd, she was interested to see who had actually decided to show up.

The Hufflepuff Quidditch Co-Captain would be sitting at the scorecards, glancing down towards the field where her best friend (and fellow Captain) @Cecily Quinn stood. The first-string Ravenclaw Chaser would be serving as the on-field referee, and was holding the Quaffle in her hands as the two girls waited for all the students to show up. Out of the corner of her eye, Ami also spotted Professor Jemari, breathing easy now that she knew that a responsible adult was present to make sure no one got seriously injured during the scrimmage.

The sky was deceivingly clear and bright that morning, and without a single cloud in the sky, it seemed like it would be a perfectly lovely day to play some Quidditch. However, the air still had a bit of a bite to it, and Ami was thankful that she had grabbed a jacket before heading out to the Quidditch pitch. Finally, once all the students were present, Cecily would quickly run over all the Quidditch rules with the students, some of whom were probably new to the sport. Once everyone was in position, the Ravenclaw Captain would yeet the red Quaffle into the air, and the scrimmage would begin.

Henry preferred day off would have probably been in the library. Reading with his orange feline and best friend letting the hours pass by which sounded like the prefect day to the second year.

Unfortunately his desired plans won't be happening since he was participating in a quidditch scrimmage that day. Quidditch is another sport that Henry isn't excited over, mainly since it's a test of physical skills such as strength and endurance... which strength has never been one of the boy's strong suits probably why he prefers dueling. Which is a test of one's knowledge, ability to aim, and reflexes at least to the boy that was and he would have just preferred practicing dueling strategies then flying on a broom.

Henry decided to wear a casual pair of blue jeans, a short sleeve red shirt, plain black trainers, along with his black hoodie and gold rusted pendant which was underneath his red shirt and hidden from view. The boy waited hear the entrance of the grounds until he spotted a familiar set of purple hair, belonging to one Cash Ironwoods. One of the only Slytherin's that Henry considered a friend and also apparently blame them for convincing him to sign up for the scrimmage in the first place.

Henry would fall into besides them as the walk began to the quidditch pitch and Henry held his hands in his hoodie pockets with his face showing hiding all signs of emotion, appearing as a stature as he casually spoke" I still can't believe I let you talk me into joining," the second year eyed his friend as the walk to the pitch continued before he would speak again, " quidditch is a test of strength and endurance which means I'm about to make a fool of myself and I should be thanking you for that," before playfully rolling his eyes a bit as he finished" if you don't laugh as well which I bet 5 sickles that you will be."

As the pitch neared and Henry felt his anxiety bubble inside of him, even if his face didn't reveal it. And the boy brushed a few stands of hair back before continuing his complaints to Cash, " I can't wait to play a game where the objective is to throw a ball into a hoop or knock others off their brooms," Henry chuckled a little before smiling toward Cash as he followed them onto the pitch.

The boy would scan the pitch and the teams before eyeing the fellow slytherin as he spoke" at least Starlee is on your team, wish her luck for me Cash," before going back and eyeing his own team which was mainly gryffindor's..... not surprising there, one another slytherin and only one ravenclaw.

Henry would look back toward Cash as he muttered to them in a low voice" I swear in any event gryffindor is always the marjory," not that the boy cared since majority of his friends were from gryffindor. But it was just odd to him almost how gryffindor's were always the majority and hufflepuff's were always the rarity in any types of events.

Henry would eye his slytherin friend again with a mischievous grin as he spoke in a low voice, "5 sickles that your team scores more goals but my team catches the snitch." A friendly wage on a friendly game. Who could resist.

Henry shot a quick smile toward Cash as he spoke" good luck mate and have fun keeping the bench warm for your team," stating the second part as a joke before the boy would turn on his heels and head toward the direction of his team.

Henry would keep his emotions hidden and appear almost like a stature as he approached his team. The boy would offer a smile to each member before the start before observing each individually.

The first on his team that the boy would think about is the red head and close friend, Rose Moon and when she would first arrive the boy would give her a small head nod with a smile while muttering to her, "Hey," figuring that she would probably make a good keeper wince the girl had pretty good reflexes from dueling and also a good eye to.

The lone ravenclaw was someone he actually
knew as the blonde hair frog choir head and dueler; Pericles, when the blonde would arrive, Henry would offer another smile while speaking to him, " hey! It looks like were on the same team this time mate, " the comment was a reference to when the two duel aginest each other and ravenclaw has won. Not that Henry held any grudges against the kid since he was a brilliant dueler and won fairy.

Another gryffindor and their team's seeker; Gia Adelard who was another that Henry considered a friend and when she would show, he would offer a slight smile to with a head nod while he would say to her, " after this remind me to show you the art of dueling," Henry loved dueling with his friends and would always suggest it when hanging out... probably why he was thinking of old practices with his best friend then quidditch.

The next Gryffindor that Henry would think about would be the first year gryffindor; Nicholas who was chosen for the Trial Of Fear with him and a few others sometime back. Also the kid was Rose's new partner so when the first year would arrive, Henry would offer him a smile with a head nod as he spoke to him" Hey."

When the rest would arrive, Henry would offer them each a smile since the other Slytherin was someone the boy didn't knew and assumed was a first year along with the other gryffindor since both held unfamiliar names.

However the second string seeker for their team was a name that he recognized and briefly knew as Anastasia Beckett. The girl that had some conflicting opinions and rumors about her, frankly Henry wasn't quite sure about her since personally she never did anything to him but she did do a few things to his friends and the boy care deeply for them so he was unsure about her still.

Besides from the third year and the two unfamiliar first years, Henry knew the rest of the people on his team and when the time would come to mount their brooms and start the boy would give a smile to each member while he spoke" good luck," with his British accent heavily stinking though before he would lean close to Rose and whisper to her" you got this Rose. Just breath and focus," offering the girl a final smile before he would mount his broom and eye the purple hair who he would playful smile toward for a moment before kicking off from the ground and drifting into the air. Let the game begin.

After twenty minutes (an improvement, considering the whopping two hours from last time) on the staircase, Suzuki finally made her way to the Quidditch Pitch. Nothing much had changed from fall- it was only the grass, which looked a little deader and a little sprucier at the same time.

She'd decided to wear her regular outfit, minus the watch (there was a chance it'd get broken- Suzuki didn't want to risk it). Standard attire- navy sweatpants, a flak jacket... The usual stuff.

Stepping onto the field, Suzuki went up to a small gathering (she assumed it was the Quidditch scrimmage people- her assumption would be proved right later on). Brushing some thin strands of hair out of her eyes, she wondered how well her eyesight would fare in such Quidditch games. Hopefully, the bludgers would be easy to locate.

Despite it being her first match (but not her first time on a broom), she was pretty sure she knew how it all worked. Back at home, she'd had various Quidditch works to read, and all that baseball practice with Nakamura should at least account for something.

Standing in a small patch of grass, far away enough from everybody so nobody would notice her but close enough to the group to be considered as part of the group, she observed the blueness of the sky, and the notes dancing around in it. Sounds pinged around in her ears, and light, faded colours (at least, that's how it seemed), seemed to waft from the ground. She could clearly detect each individual's colours from nearby, and made a note to remember them- she'd need them for the upcoming match.

Pericles took one last moment to inspect the borrowed Tinderblast. His beloved Silver Arrow, with its custom metallic varnish and limited edition blue-tail bristles, was deemed a bit too brutal for use in a simple scrimmage, especially with so many first-years involved. He had humbly downgraded, but could only hope that this model handled smoothly. The boy was not the grandest flyer in all of Hogwarts, so an especially elegant broom had smoothed the edges of his performance. It was too late to worry about it now. He would focus on his strengths, a coping tactic he had relied upon since first asked to serve as a team leader.

It was with no shortage of gusto that he applied to take part in the scrimmage match. It was with hesitation and a barely concealed nerves that he agreed to the offered position, managing a mere "Yes- alright then. I will." Peri had no experience whatsoever in the realm of Quidditch. He had, however, studied it fervently when first he arrived at Hogwarts. It had initially been the boy's intention to join the team, but before he could be bumped up into so much as a string position, Duelling Club had returned to the school. Not a second's hesitation (or second thought thought) was had before he hopped off of one roster and into the other. Nevertheless, Peri had held on to his old notes: observations of brooms, strategies, and plays jotted down in those early months. He took his time coordinating with the scrimmage team's members to determine their strengths and plan their tactic accordingly. While he lacked the experience, he had just enough determination, concentration, and basic understanding to cobble something together. Each concept was run by the group at large, though Pericles was especially keen on getting @Anastasia Beckett's opinion, as the third-year's Quidditch term made her opinion invaluable to their success. It was during preparations that someone suggested a team name. A few moments of silence ticked by, no longer, before Peri proposed "Hollythorn." Hollies with bold red berries, leaves of deep emerald green, and fierce jagged edges did well to encapsulate a team comprised primarily of Slytherins and Gryffindors, ready to slice and dice their competition. Also, thorns sounded cool.

Inspecting brooms, drawing out potential plays on blackboard, and (especially important) swapping names, Team Hollythorn would become more or less acquainted and prepared. As they reunited on the pitch, Pericles automatically smiled when @Henry Knight greeted him. It seemed the two of them shared a great many interests when it came to clubs and events. "I'll be glad to have you with me this time around," he enthused. Henry seemed the sort who would work well as a Chaser, despite his insecurities. Whether it was by coincidence or Peri specifically sensed @Kage Suzuki was setting herself aside, he made a point of passing by her, smile mellow and reassuring as he asked a simple "Ready?" He wasn't familiar with the customs of Quidditch. In duelling, a bow at the start was standard, but that felt silly here. Instead he considered the team opposite and sent the same smile to any who met his eye, calling calmly "To a good game." A last look wandered over his teammates encouragingly, and when the quaffle was launched into the air, he would be ready to kick off with the rest of them.

Aurora has a new hobby which is testing her questionable skills. Who knows if she’s going to be good at something unexpected if she doesn’t put herself out there, so why not try to be a seeker for a day, although her skill as a beater was also debatable at best. She attended some quidditch matches before, and It was pretty interesting. Somehow, it reminded her of muggle bowling from the beater's perspective, but with people as its pins and they bonking the opponent team's head with a bludger. That sounded violence. It was funny how the seeker is basically the one who decides when the game ends. A mischievous plan popped out on her head to prolong the game at least for a week in the quidditch scrimmage. But that probably not a good idea as the older students might hex her instead. Besides, there were big chances for Aurora to get knocked off of her broom five seconds after the game begins.

Aurora tied up her hair in a bun, change her clothes into a beige turtle neck and jeans. She lifted her pillow. Pens, pencils, candy wrapper, and a bunch of random things scattered beneath it. Her hand reached out to a small photograph of her and her father and put it in her pocket as a lucky charm, then she jogged to the quidditch pitch.

It was nice to see some familiar faces, although the opponent team looked a bit more intimidating with that fancy team name and all. But all is going to be just fine, her team have two people who played in real Quidditch matches before, Collins (@Bridget Collins) and Ironwoods (@Cassandra Ironwoods), plus two seers, Winters (@Opeila Winters) and Charlton (@Everly Charlton). What could possibly go wrong, right? Right!

Once she arrived on the quidditch pitch with her rusty school broom, she greeted anyone who already there before her with a rather way too loud voice “Heeeeeeyyyy-“ Her eyes wandered towards everyone one by one, not sure who should she greet first, “-Pitches!”
The Ravenclaw let out an awkward laugh. Her hand pointed out the pitch, and her entire team as she said between pauses “Quidditch pitch... pitches... get it?”
“Alright! I’m off now! Good luck! Bye!” She kicked the ground to make the broom fly, getting ready in her position.

Quidditch Scrimmage 2021

A few days ago, the green eyes passed the small hall and saw a piece of paper stuck on the board that indicated there will be a Quidditch scrimmage of the year. They read the requirement for this scrimmage. Though in that piece of paper stated active Quidditch player is low on priority, it did not stop them to signed themselves up.

So when it near the day for the scrimmage to be held, the green eyes did not expected their name to be on the roster since mostly it is reserved for Duelist and a few other first years on their team. After Cash took their shower, they grabbed one of their green long sleeve sweat shirt.

They paired it with black sweatpants. On their feet, they wore a green sneakers to matched their sweatshirt. To completed their look, Cash plopped their beloved crown beanie on their purple haired and wearing their glasses. Before they exited their dorm, the green eyes grabbed their beater bats and their dark blue star throw blanket.

They did not know how cold it will be like but it is better feeling warm then freezed their bum off. And so they started to trek up towards the Quidditch pitch. When the Beater entering the pitch, a voice that belong to one Henry Knight greeted their ears. "I still can't believe I let you talk me into joining,"Complained the blue eyed boy when he fall into the strides beside the second year.

"Good morning! Hello to you too"Cash greeted back and they mischievously smile at Henry. To anyone that saw the smile that etched on the young socialite face would be annoyed by it. "I just mentioned it to you. I do not force you to signed up, mate"Cash stated which was a lie. Cash know Henry was not good when it comes down to endurance and strength.

"Quidditch is a test of strength and endurance which means I'm about to make a fool of myself and I should be thanking you for that"Henry continued as he playfully rolled his eyes. "I am aware of that"Cash suppressed the grin that about to come out. "And yet you still signed and show up"The beater this time let out a small chuckle.

As both of the Slytherin walked side by side, each step they took the goal post become much clearer. Cash looked up from the ground. This is the first time they saw the pitch from different angle. Usually the green eyes just flew out from Slytherin locker room into the pitch. The Cuban descendant zoned out of what Henry was saying about making a small bet and throw the Quaffle into the hoops.

Henry then stated how lucky that Starlee is in the same team with them. At the mentioned of the ray of sunshine (Starlee), Cash came back to the reality. "I will"Replied the green eyes after Henry sent his luck for Starlee. The cold brisk of wind then picked up. Cash spread open their blanket and cover their body with it.

Both of the serpents then scanned the field. It seems Cash was the first one in their team that arrived at the pitch other than the first year Ravenclaw girl (Aurora). While Henry's team, some of them already show up. "I swear in any event Gryffindor is always the majority,"Henry told Cash.

"5 sickles that your team scores more goals but my team catches the snitch"At the word sickles, Cash turned their head at Henry. "Oh! it so on, my friend"Cash stated. "Good luck mate and have fun keeping the bench warm for your team"Henry stating the second part as a joke before the boy would turn around and continued his stride to where his team mate located.

With that statement, Cash remembered they are the second string in this game. The young socialite never been a second string through out their Quidditch career and it something new to them. Cash then looked up to the sky where some of the players already up high. Cash let out a sighed.

Before they went up to one of the spectator stand, they put down the pair of Beater bats that they owned. One of them will be use by Starlee and the other for anyone who need it. "Alright then"Cash spoke to themselves after laying the bats on the ground.

After that they wrapped the blanket some more around their body tightly to keep their body heat warm and start climbed up to one of the spectator stand.

OOC NOTE - To anyone that need a bat (for those of you that got the role of Beater), Cash had two of it. One will be use by Starlee and one is up to grabs for anyone. On the side of the bat there is a cursive lettering in silver spelled 'Ironwoods'. Also there's some visible crack in some various places on the woods of the bat from using it for years because it was once belong to Cash's father before it was handed down to Cash. Jut remember, returned it to Cash once you done using it.

Starlee couldn't help herself when she saw the sign up sheet for a quidditch scrimmage. She was one to get involved in whatever she could, no matter how horrible she could be at it. However, she saw another opportunity here, aside from just getting to play quiddich, one to train with Cash. If Starlee was selected as a beater, then she could quickly learn some tricks and tips from the older student, something she would do happily.

Not only did the official beater agree to training her, but they also decided to sign up themselves, and the two were placed on the same team. Even better. In the short time before the scrimmage, Starlee tried to learn as much from Cash as she could, the rules, swinging the bat, dodging on a broom, and Starlee did the best that she could. Not as good as the beater, but she was satisfied enough with it for a small, unofficial match.

The day finally came, and she donned some light activewear, or really, her typical weekend attire. She quickly made her way down to the pitch, a little nervous, but excited as the match was to be for fun. Even though she was a Slytherin, she really wasn't the most competitive, unless the occasion called for it.

She entered the pitch with a school broom and waved a friendly hello to Cash, who had taken a seat on the bench. She wondered if Cash would feel strange playing as second string, since they usually were out first, ready and rarin' to go.

She walked over to where their group was forming, the now named 'Pitch Please' team. She thought the name was just soooo cute, which perhaps wasn't what a quidditch team name should be, but it was perfect and apt for the bubbly girl. It seemed the other team had decided to go with a more... typical name? Hollythorn kinda reminded her of the Hollyhead Harpies, perhaps they got the name idea from them?

She walked over to the bats that Cash had left, and picked up the one with 'Ironwoods' embellished across it. It was worn, with cracks along it, but it was special; It was both the bat that Cash used in their matches, as well as the one their father had used previously. The beater had mentioned that she could use their bat during the match when they had practiced, and Starlee happily accepted, wanting to do the beater proud.

Starlee nodded over to Aurora, who she felt a little uneased by, and this was confirmed moreso when the girl abruptly flew into the air with a swift 'Bye!' Starlee nodded again and said, "Yes, good luck Pitch Please! We got this!" with a bright smile across her face. She kicked off, swinging her beaters bat in what was meant to be a threatening 'come at me' manner, but due to her cute bubbliness, was probably not the most successful.

Opeila had hesitated to sign up. The young Slytherin had never played Quidditch and being away from the ground made her nervous and shaky. It had been mostly thanks to Gris, Bridget and Scarlett that she ended up writing her name on the sheet. And the possibility that there would be too many people signing up.

Well... that didn't happen. So here she was, with her mother's broom and shaking knees. Opeila had gotten better and better on the broom when training with the girls, but she was still far away from being a good flyer.
At least Bridget was on her team, that made her feel a little better. Chaser... That had to be as scary as attacker in a football game. Or... in their ice hockey game last December. Hopefully Opeila wouldn't get tackled off her broom...

The Second year got on her broom. It was a good broom that her mother had played Quidditch on back in her days. Now that her mother was gone... it was Opeila's. It felt strange to sit on the broom like Fioria had a hundred times. She could almost feel her mother's excitement, as if the broom was radiating it.

Opeila took a deep breath. "Good luck!", she shouted at her teammates and kicked off the ground.

Quidditch. Rose didn't know how she felt about Quidditch. Well, actually, she did know how she felt about Quidditch, she just didn't want to feel that way. It was all so complicated. Rose had been an avid Quidditch fan her first year, but then the thought of not living up to her own expectations scared her. Like, it terrified her to her very core. So then she had decided not to go to Quidditch tryouts, and had joined the dueling team instead. There were high demands for duelists, and Rose had thought herself to be a fairly good spellcaster. However good of a spellcaster she had considered herself to be, she was a horrible duelist. She had lost both of her duels very quickly. She had tried her best in both, but it had been a breeze for her opponents to knock her out. So Rose had a little hope that she wasn't going to fail as much in Quidditch as dueling, but it was also coupled by worries that it was just the lack of her own skill and ability that led to her loosing her duels. How would it be any different if she joined the Quidditch team?

The Quidditch Scrimmage had caught her attention, though. She had seen it pretty early when it had been posted, and every time she walked by it, she was tempted to sign up, but she always convinced herself to keep walking. She watched the queue fill up until there were only two spots left. It had been a spur of the moment decision, and Rose forced herself to sign up.

Why, oh why had she done that? Rose guessed she loved making a fool of herself. She would probably fall off her broom five minutes into the game. It wouldn't be much different than being knocked out five minutes into a duel, so Rose could, of all people, manage it. All she would do is let her team down and earn some whispers and pointed fingers in the halls. Rose had paced her dormitory for half an hour, deciding if she should go or not. She almost let herself hide under her bed until the match would be over, but Rose kept having to tell herself that even though she was a failure, she was not a quitter. She had made a commitment by signing up, and she wasn't going to opt out now. Because the only thing worse than playing horribly would be to not show up at all. That would definitely be letting her team down.

But Rose let herself be just the slightest bit curious. Hopeful. If she wasn't a failure at this.

That's why she was here today, on the Quidditch Pitch. She was only using a school broom, since she didn't have one of her own that was fast or strong or special in any way. That did put her as one of the underdogs almost immediately as she made her way on the pitch, but she did see that most people did not have a fancy broom. Nobody would be able to see how anxious she was at this moment. She was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, as well as her converse. She didn't think that she would really need to bundle up, but maybe she was wrong. It was chilly out here.

She surveyed the people around her. Most of them, she didn't know. But there were some people here and there that she recognized either from shared classes or from Gryffindor Tower. She knew Starlee from a couple of short encounters, but she thought of Starlee of her friend. They had gotten along brilliantly the times that they had met before. She had met Bridget, as well. She was the Slytherin who had decided to fall over and blame it on Rose. The stubborn redhead that she was, Rose would not admit that even a sliver of it was her fault, even though most of it, in actuality, was. Rose did not like Bridget Collins. Rose made it a point to not look at the older girl at all. Hopefully her rivalry with the girl wouldn't give her a disadvantage in this match. She had met Cash a few times, as well. She was a friendly acquaintance of Rose's, but Rose didn't quite know her that well.

As for her own team, Rose recognized her new dueling partner, Nicholas. And she remembered Pericles from the Frog Choir auditions. He was very complimentary of her voice, and friendly to her. If Pericles, Nicholas, Starlee, or Cash made eye contact with her, she would wave at them in response with a smile.

There were two others that Rose recognized. The first was Anastasia Beckett. Rose couldn't think of a single good thing to say about Anastasia Beckett. She was obnoxious and stuck-up, and cruel to Rose in their every encounter. It was painful to be close to her, and she hoped it wouldn't come to Anastasia and her having to work together on the same team. Plus, Anastasia was already on the Quidditch Team. This was supposed to be for people who hadn't had a chance to play. Why was she even here?

The second was Henry Knight, and he was approaching her right now. She gave him a smile. "Hey, Henry. How's it going? I thought you didn't like Quidditch much." She only made a little bit of small talk with him, not engaging in a long conversation, because it would only be cut off with the beginning of the game, which was supposed to be soon.

Then it was time for them to mount their brooms and get the game going.Rose swung her leg over the broom. She had been waiting for this moment for so long- to be able to play in a Quidditch game. Why was she so scared? Henry came over her to whisper some words of encouragement to her specifically. The redhead blinked in surprise. She appreciated his words. Rose wasn't able to do anything other than nod mutely and smile at him, though. She couldn't seem to force any words out. Drawing in a deep, shaky breath and forcing it outwards, Rose tried to convince herself of the exact same thing that Henry had told her. It was just a game. She could do this.

Right?

Rose kicked off into the brisk air.

Quidditch Scrimmage 2021 PV
Interacting with: n/a
Mentioning: Lavinia Cloven, Team Hollythorn/Team 2
When the Quiddich Scrimmage was taking place at last came and Violet felt nervous, but secretly exited for once and for all she was going to play actual Quiddich, even if that was not a official match. The sport was something that she had to think about, and Violet did not have second thoughts when signing up, for she knew it would be a perfect opportunity to practice and see what her skills were. She had been doubting whether she should sign up for Quiddich or Duelling, and the Scrimmage was a opportunity to see whether she was good in one of them.

She walked into the Quiddich Pitch, thinking of Lavinia Cloven the girl she had met right there a few months ago when Vi was taking interest in Quiddich and seeking for a mentor. Lavinia was a talented Chaser (which also was the position Violet had been assigned in this unofficial match~)

Violet carefully looked around to see her team mates that had decided to take the name Team Hollythorn. She thought it was a cool name, after all, they needed one, right? Not just team two. Vi then realized that she knew none of the people she was going to play against or with. She had probably seen a few of them, such as Opeila Winters but nobody else in there were familiar to her. Well, that was a sign that Vi needed to socialize more for sure.

She took a look at the sky and then mounted her broom and kicked the ground as she whispered,
- Good luck.
