Third Time's the Charm

"...Make sure you read through the instructions thoroughly as you will have to read through your textbooks for some answers. Alright, now begin!” Calypso looked down at the sad little skeleton keychain on her desk, trying to mentally gather herself. Ok, focus. Concentration, pronunciation of the incantation, wand precision. She took a deep breath and pointed her wand at the keychain. "Tarantallegra!" She said while making the wand movement -tracing the outline of a pair of legs- in the air. Not entirely surprisingly, nothing happened. Ok, just try again. "Tarantallegra!" This time the skeleton flopped over half-heartedly on the desk. Third time's the charm, Calypso told herself, taking a moment to inwardly chuckle at her own idiotic joke. "Tarantallegra!" she exclaimed. This time the keychain picked itself up and did an (albeit very bad) little jig there on the desk. It danced for around three seconds before slumping tiredly back down on the wood surface and going stiff once more. Calypso practiced for another fifteen minutes or so, until she could get the figurine to sustain a rowdy dance for a sufficient amount of time. On to Reparo. "I'm sorry to do this to you, little guy," she said under her breath as she snapped one of the skeleton's arms off. The girl pointed her wand once more at the keychain, and said, "Reparo!" She drew a spiral in the air with the tip of her wand. The arm moved a bit closer to the body, but remained unattached. Alright, concentrate. Calypso made the gesture once more. "Reparo!" The arm, this time, cleaved back onto the skeleton's body, with only a small faultline left as evidence of the previous damage. With another round of incantation and wand gesture, she sealed the crack. Good, she congratulated herself. Now let's see if you can do it all in one go. Calypso broke off a leg now. Focus."Reparo!" To her surprise, the limb sealed back onto the body leaving not so much as a mark. Victory! By the time class had finished, she could perform both Tarantallegra and Reparo well. For Calypso's first ever class at Hogwarts, she would say it was a success.
