Wh-what? the boy thought with alarm, eyes going wide. It didn't work?! He glanced anxiously at Professor Zahid for whom he had performed the spell and mentally berated himself. His grin disappeared instantly. How could he have acted so cocky only to mess everything up?

Indeed, Jack found he was a great deal more nervous than he thought once he realized his favorite teacher was watching. To his great dismay, his first attempt in class failed just as badly as if it had really been as half-hearted an attempt as he'd tried to make it seem.

Annoyed with himself and embarrassed, he sat up in his seat, his face going almost as red as his hair. All that studying and practicing and for what? To make a fool of himself when it mattered most? Perhaps he should have researched the etymology of the spell less and practiced the pronunciation more.

"Y-yes, Professor,." he replied immediately to the History Professor's suggestion, still blushing from his humiliation. Glaring at the only partially-repaired glasses, he was determined to do it right this time. Slowly and deliberately enunciating the spell - almost to an absurd degree - he tried performing it again just as he was told.

"OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh."

Jack tapped the top of the pair of shades gently but firmly, his mouth set in a thin, taut line of intense concentration.

Professor Edit: ”Well done.” Zahid gave Mr. Burnett a smile as the Slytherin successfully repaired his test subject. He hoped the boy wouldn't take the fumble to heart. Such things happened, and one shouldn't let that discourage oneself. (Easier said than done, though, as he well knew.)

She has the impression that it will not be the same as always.She enters the room with the other students, and sits in the second row. She takes parchment, a quill and ink from her bag. Why is there a pair of broken sunglasses on the desk? She was soon out of her thoughts. She has promised herself one thing: Always listen well in class. And the class has just started. Today, the students are going to do magic. When Professor Zahid asks what the spell for repairing glasses is, Lily raises her hand. She knows the answer. But it's a Slytherin who's being questioned. And he has the right answer. For once, Lily did not know the correct pronunciation of this phrase. So she hastened to write it down, along with the wand movement that wasn't really a wand movement. She then watched the Professor's demonstration. As she listens, she thinks to herself that it will be easy. Lily takes out her wand. She reads the formula again, learns it by heart. She concentrates and taps her broken glasses, saying: - OCK-you-less reh-PAH-roh! And the pieces of glass go back into place. But you can still see cracks in the glass. That's not right! *I said "OCK-you-less reh-PAH-roh". I didn't make a mistake... Oh, I did* She takes a deep breath and starts again, not forgetting to break the glasses first. She concentrates and says: - OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh! This time it works. The glasses are as good as new. She did it. But it wasn't perfect, she failed the first time. So she just smiles a little.[/font]

Professor Edit: As always, Zahid was glad to see a student realize and then correct their mistake on their own. "Well done, Miss Cooper.", he offered with an encouraging smile before moving along to the next student.

Alice had arrived to her history of magic class that day fully prepared to do the same thing that she did in all of the rest of the history of magic classes so far: not pay the slightest bit of attention to literally anything that was happening. Its not that she didn't like magic history, it was just that it was boring. But when she spotted the pairs of broken sunglasses on the desks, she was intrigued enough to at the very least not immediately zone out when Professor Zahid started speaking. Her attention was further cemented when she heard that they were going to be learning the Eye-Glass Repairing charm. That was definitely a spell she needed to know, given how often she broke her own spectacles, which currently sat on her face, held together in the middle with tape.

When it was time to practice, she looked at the par of broken sunglasses before her. She pronounced the incantation to herself a few times, making sure she had a feel for how it was pronounced. "Oculus reparo. Oculus reparo. Oculus reparo. OCK-you-liss reh-PAR-oh." She mumbled. Once she was relatively confident in the way she pronounced the incantation, she picked up the broken sunglasses gingerly. She started to say the incantation, and tapped her wand against the glasses, but she apparently either tapped too hard, or wasn't holding them tight enough, or both, because the tap of the wand knocked them out of her hand and sent them skittering across the floor. She took a moment to laugh at herself a little bit before cheerily going to pick them up so she could try again. She made sure she had a firm hold on the glasses as she tapped them. "Oculus reparo." she said confidently. Nothing happened. That was fine, she couldn't be perfect on the first try. She took a breath, and tried again. "Oculus reparo." she said, tapping her wand against the glasses, grinning to herself as they repaired themselves. She snapped them in half down the middle again, repeating the spell to make sure she actually had it down pat and it wasn't just a fluke. When the spell once again worked, she hummed to herself, putting the repaired shades down on her desk and taking off her own glasses. "Oculus reparo," she repeated the incantation, tapping her wand against the broken bridge of her glasses, before peeling the tape off and putting the repaired eyeglasses back on her face proudly.

Professor Edit: As the Gryffindor was already in the process of re-breaking the sunglasses as Zahid approached her desk, he was not surprised when her next repair-attempt succeeded. "Very good, Miss Grimmshaw."

Noah Jupe flicked back his short, dark brown, trimmed hair, and put on his glasses. Listening to the lesson, he realized that this spell was against his glasses. Well, for those who like to pick on him. He was hoping that he wouldn't have to break his glasses. To his relief, the professor stated that the glasses he got were broke, granted, they were sun-glasses and weren't exactly like regular glasses. It was quite a spectacle, what the professor did to repair the glasses, by just tapping them, and enunciating the speech clearly, the sunglasses were back to normal.

The young boy laughed, he wasn't going to have to ask his parents to get him some more glasses. He looked at the sunglasses on his desk, snapped in two, and smiled. "Ock-ul-us Rep-ah-o!" Oculus Reparo was cried out by the young boy, and he, indeed, tapped the glasses with his wand, but... nothing happened. Seething, he considered carefully how to pronounce the charm.

"OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh!" The boy tried again, his heart hurting a little, but he tried to allow himself to feel determination. He was going to get this right, that was what he was dedicated to. He prided himself on good grades, and having a good standing with each professors. He tapped the wand, and mystically, they pieced together.

Professor Edit: Zahid gave a slight wince at the Gryffindor's first attempt at pronunciating the incantation. The syllable breaks were all wrong. But the boy rallied himself quite admirably and succeeded on his next try. "Well done, Mr. Jupe."

If ever there was a time Matt wished Hogwarts had sick days, today was one. He'd been up until the wee hours of the morning doing Charms homework and his eyes felt sticky with lack of sleep as he knuckled at their corners. Of course today happened to be a spells lesson as well! Of course! If it were just a normal one he might've tried to subtly sleep through it, but when you had to do practical you couldn't very well snooze the day away.

He half-squinted the entire time the spell was being explained, glad at least that it was a fairly useless one (to him anyway, a glasses-less kid who didn't own sunglasses). He wasn't sure if he'd even remember half of what he learned, so quick it seemed to leave his mind after it was said.

When time came around to actually do the spell, he nearly dropped the sunglasses and shattered them worse when he picked them up to look at them, and he quickly set them down so he wouldn't end up doing it and causing a mess. "Right," he yawned, fumbling to take his wand out.

"Oc'lus Repar'," he mumbled out, head drooping as he tapped the broken things. Nothing. Obviously. His head almost hit the desk and he jerked it up with a sharp intake of breath, realizing he'd been three quarters of the way asleep. Shaking his head and blinking rapidly, he put every single drop of concentration he had into what he was doing.

It admittedly wasn't much, and he tripped over the pronunciation a bunch of times before finally getting it. "OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh," he said as clearly as his addled mind let him, tapping the glasses with the tip of his wand.

Professor Edit: It seemed the Slytherin boy had a severe case of either boredom or sleep deprivation with the way he kept almost nodding off. Narrowing his eyes, Zahid decided to check on the kid's progress next - maybe he would be one of the ones that jumped to alertness when they noticed a teacher present nearby?

But despite the boy's trouble paying attention, he did end up (finally) succeeding in casting the charm. "Well done, Mr. Gray."

Professor Edit: While Zahid would prefer it for the two students to concentrate a bit more on practicing the spell instead of someone else's success (or not), at least they kept practicing and the Ravenclaw girl did succeed in mending her glasses. "Well done, Miss Hagikura."

Another day, another extracurricular lesson! Seren came into the class, eager and interested in whatever it was Professor Zahid might be teaching them today. She found her favorite desk, and moved to settle herself into, quill and small parchment at the ready. The Ravenclaw had taken to carefully saving her extra parchment from a roll, after homework, if it was longer than the required number of inches, so that she could use them for lessons like this. It was a great way to save parchment and not worry about running out.

When the Professor began to speak, she took as many notes as she could on her spare parchment, her blue eyes determined as she worked her way through it all.

Then she set the quill down, and her wand next to it, before she began to softly practice the incantation. "OCK-you-less... Wait, no that's not right. OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh. OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh. I think that's it." She mumbled to herself, before she went and got a pair of the broken sunglasses. She settled herself back into her desk, and set them in front of her.

She studied them thoughtfully as she picked her wand back up, and licked her lips, considering the broken spot on them. She then grasped her wand with a careful firmness, and said "Oculus Reparo!" as she tapped the wand onto the glasses, right over the broken spot. To her delight, they repaired themselves immediately. She then frowned, because she really did NOT like having to break things, but she needed to do so to practice again.

She sighed, steeling herself as she bent the frames hard, cringing a little as they began to crack. The sharp sound of the snap almost had her dropping them, but instead, she set the two halves carefully into place so that the edges aligned properly, before she cast again. She did this repeatedly, until she was very sure she had the spell down, and she returned the glasses to the teacher, assuming he would need them again in the future. "Thank you, Professor..." She said, before walking back to her desk to wait until it was time to leave.

Professor Edit: Zahid had brought more than enough sunglasses for his students to practice on, but it seemed he had missed a desk when he had prepared the lesson. Luckily he had not put the left-over glasses away, and they were readily available. While there had been no need to return the glasses before the end of class, at least Miss Yong had successfully repaired her glasses several times, so he did not need to reprimand her to practice some more.

A wailing noise awoke the boy. He slept during class. An Extracurricular class. How stupid was he? He might as well spend the rest of his life in Azkaban. Cody was seemingly fast asleep when someone shows him a pair of glasses, as he was set to wear one when he was younger but he resisted it so much, he went to the extreme. Well, the extreme in that household, was sleeping, and refusing to listen. He slept just to avoid wearing glasses. Who could blame him? But when it was first shown in class, he gasped and his head hit the desk. Then when he awoke, everyone else was apparently working on the new spell.

Oh Cody was daft. He really should've paid attention. Now, he grabbed out his dogwood wand with troll whisker as it's core, and looked around to what the other students were doing. Apparently tapping the broken glasses and saying the spell. Now, the professor did say the name of the spell, and he supposed that was the incantation. He tapped the glasses in front of him and grimanced, while saying, "OCK-you-lips reh-PARDOH-roh." Nothing happened. The part goblin snarled. He had a good reason to be angry! He wasn't paying attention in class, he fell asleep, he only knew the wand movement, but not the incantation. He really should've paid attention.

An idea struck his head, he walked to the desk behind him and asked what the incantation was. OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh was how you pronounced it, and that was what Cody was going to follow.

He returned to his desk, tapped the glasses, and said the spell as clearly as he could, "OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh."

His eyes twinkled as the glasses fixed themselves!

He looked at the professor. "I'm sorry I slept during your lesson! I learned two things today though. One, pay attention and don't sleep, and Two, actually listen and clearly pronounce your words properly. Well, maybe three. I am fairly certain I learned this. What do you think Professor?"

Professor Edit: Zahid arched a brow as the Hufflepuff freely - unprompted - admitted to having fallen asleep during his class. "Indeed. Class is not for sleeping, Mr. Stevenson. I hope you remember that in the future. Still, well done on the casting. Now break them to practice some more." After all, the point was for the students to be able to cast spells consistently and a single success could technically have been a fluke.

Rachel wasn't in a good mood today. Well, let's just say that her so called 'friend' did something that negatively affected her. So you could say Rachel was a little grumpy. Now even in her state, she was still listening carefully to the professor that was explaining about a spell, Rachel was in the History of Magics classroom and Professor Zahid was teaching them the eyeglass repair charm. She doesn't use glasses, or to be precise she rarely uses them but she probably need the spell and will use it in the future whenever she might break some glasses, because of her clumsiness.

Rachel quickly scribbled down the enunciation and the pronunciation of the spell on her parchment. The wand movements? No need, she got it memorized already! Getting a sunglass, Rachel firstly practiced the wand movement. With great determination and a very focused mind which you can see in her facial features with knitted brows, using her finger as a replacement for her wand and using it for practice, she got her finger close to the glasses and... tapped it. Sitting there, she might have looked like an idiot repeatedly tapping her sunglass but she needed to practice alright?

Now onto the pronunciation. Rachel looked on her notes and read them. "OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh, OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh, OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh!" Again, Rachel practiced the pronunciation and also the wand movement together. Feeling ready, she got her wand out, placed it on top of her test subject, and said, "OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh." While she tapped the sunglass using her wand. To her surprise, it worked! To be honest, she was expecting to have trouble with it, because she usually do have trouble with easy spells. Looking at the others, she saw them breaking their own glasses and practicing the spell again.

With a very slight smirk, Rachel coppied them and broke, or more likely split and smashed her glasses with all her anger and did the spell again. About ten more practice, which she had too much fun breaking the sunglass, she was satisfied and was sure she has properly did the spell.

Professor Edit: Huh. It seemed one of his students had to have quite a bit of pent-up aggression to rid themselves off. At least the Gryffindor was letting her anger out productively, she was quite enthusiastic in destroying her sun glasses in between repairing them. He left her to it at first - since she obviously needed no help with the spell - for the sake of aiding students that needed a hand. By the time he came back around to her desk, she seemed to have calmed down. "Well done, Miss Davis."

It was another day of life and thus that as a living Alec was attending his class here once more, and Alec was... Perhaps... Doing his own thing. It wasn't as bad as it may have seemed especially if he were to write it on paper, but he was quietly tapping on table at which he sat. Doing his best too keep focused as he listened to the lesson of the day. Excitement coursing through him as he learned of the fact that in fact today they were learning a spell. He was moving around a lot for someone sitting at their desk as he listened. Eyeing the broken sunglasses. Today they were going to be learning Oculus Reparo, which in theory seemed simple enough, and in theory Alec would believe it was. It was repairing a pair of glasses. Alec thought he had perfect vision, he didn't think he would ever need glasses, and was unsure how useful the spell would be for himself, but was willing to try. Knowing something maybe useless was better then not knowing it at all? Alec's brows furrowed in the guess, unsure, but just trying to make his voice in his head fit and go along with the logic.

As Alec listened to the mini-lecture his head took a pause from words as he was told that one the sun-glasses were repaired, break the glasses so you can try again... It was for trying to spell but wasn't that defeating the point? It was almost like toturing the glasses for the sun to keep doing it even if they couldn't feel. Alec sub-sided, it was an object, that probably wouldn't matter. Nodding to himself, he began to prepare to cast the spell. Well, Alec spoke firmly and clearly, “Oculus Reparo.” though in that second his hand-eye coordination seemed to be off as he ended up tapping the desk instead of the sunglasses. Alec would huff, annoyed that this was the mistake he was going to make and try again saying, “Oculus Reparo.” Tapping the glasses once more.

Zahid was not completely sure if that first attempt was just another try at the pronunciation, slightly off though that it was, or if he misdirected his wand. While the second attempt may have hit the glasses, the pronuniation was still off. "Be sure to enunciate properly, Mr. Mason: OCK-you-liss reh-PAH-roh."
