Yes, well... Opeila had done something. It was the first Saturday after the start of the new school year and despite- or maybe even because of- the horrors of their first day back, the third year had felt the need to give the new professors a positive impression. There were three of them. Defense against the Dark Arts, Herbology and Divination. She couldn't say that she was particularly close with Professor Pendrast, but she had been a capable professor, that much was clear.
However, so far the new professor had made a good impression as well and as Professor Pendrast was still at school as Head of House Gryffindor, Opeila felt almost indifferent about the change. It was more an addition than anything else. On this afternoon, if Professor Lécuyer walked past the classroom, he would find a little bag hanging on the door, containing a few chocolate frogs as well as a handwritten note.
Dear Professor Lécuyer,
This is a welcome gift for you. I am Opeila Winters, a third year from House Slytherin, I have been in one of your classes last week. When I heard that we were getting a new Professor for Defense against the Dark Arts, I first was a bit sceptical as Professor Pendrast was an amazing teacher, but I did very much enjoy the last class.
I'm looking forward to learn more!
