Elise Laurent
|
Reducio Elise was what you would call pretty. Or, perhaps, positively gorgeous. And she knew it. Her hair cascaded past her shoulders in silky, golden waves and she had natural lighter blonde highlights. Her hair is her pride and glory - Elise combs it the typical one hundred strokes every morning and evening. Don't forget the afternoon brushing as well. Elise's hair is silky smooth, and normally what people stare at first when they pass her by on the streets, or catch a glimpse of her anywhere. Elise has features like those of a porcelain doll's - they look slightly young for her age, yet still compliment her entire shining appearance. Her fair skin is practically flawless; in fact, the girl works incredibly hard to keep it like that. Her mouth is normally in the typical neutral position, or frowning with distaste and her eyes can pretty much convey all her emotion, which is usually negative. Sadly, her pretty face is ruined by the glares she gives people on an almost daily basis. Elise is rather tall and thin for her age, but prefers not to think of herself as gangly, but rather, slender. |
Reducio It was a great shame really, that such a lovely face had to be wasted on such a selfish girl. Why can't the kind, caring people ever get the good looks? Because, yes, indeed, Elise Gabrielle Laurent was incredibly selfish. Greedy, manipulative and ruthless might also describe her rather well. She was completely unaware of this, as most people are rather blind to their flaws. Elise isn't completely without hope however - she still has a few redeeming qualities. Even though she is willing to step on others to achieve her own goals, Elise doesn't usually cross 'the hard lines'. When her actions start hurting people in an irredeemable way, she stops. Elise is also quite a charismatic (and cunning) girl by nature and unknowingly manipulates people into doing what she wants - perhaps this is why she grew up so spoilt. Elise does defend her friends, even though there are not many of them. Her methods of defence isn't exactly peaceful, however. Overall Elise is a cunning and charismatic girl with a knack for manipulating people. She is ruthless and rather cold, but knows when to stop and will stop. |

Reducio
Estelle Chevrolet and Marius Laurent were childhood friends. The two lived in Paris, nicknamed the city of love. Perhaps that title would prove to be true, soon enough. Estelle was from a wealthy and incredibly noble pure-blood family, and her relatives would fit all your expectations of a house like that - strict and determined to keep the blood line pure, to the point of obsession. Marius was named after Marius from the famous movie, musical and book Les Miserables, which his completely Muggle parents were fond of. Marius was a Muggle as well, and the friendship between him and Estelle was frowned upon by the latter's family.
Estelle and Marius were friends all throughout primary school in France, sticking up and fiercely defending the other. However, Marius did not know Estelle's secret - she was a witch. Estelle kept this hidden from her dearest friend, worried he would hate her for it. It all went well for a while. Marius never asked questions about Estelle's strange absences or incidents where she seemed to be something not...normal. But one day, before Estelle could tell Marius, she was swept off to Beauxbatons on a carriage pulled by Abraxan horses at age eleven, forced by her Grandmother. Or, from that day on, known as 'THE Grandmother'.
Beauxbatons was beautiful. But Estelle was already miserable - and at such a young age as well. Marius started to attend a French secondary school, wondering where Estelle had gone. He became distrusting as a result of Estelle 'abandoning' him. He became cold.
Eventually, Estelle decided to rebel against The Grandmother's wishes and send an owl to Marius. She told him to write back and give it to the owl. The girl waited in hope. Marius received the letter, hesitated one moment and crumpled it up, throwing it in the bin. And when two weeks went by without a reply, Estelle gave up and numbly worked her way through the course work. Her friends at Beauxbatons were alright. Yet no one could replace Marius.
Once Estelle finished her education and Marius finished his, the two met again on fateful day at a bakery. The re-union was somewhat bitter, but the two made up within weeks and had their first kiss on a viewing platform of the Eiffel Tower. Estelle shared the fact that she was a witch and she had to leave because of her family wanting her to attend Beauxbatons, and Marius accepted it. The two had a private beach wedding on the 17th of July, 2007.
Elise was born soon after, and it was evident the girl lacked her mother's compassion and love for romantic things. Her father's darker, colder side was what Elise inheirited, much to some people's despair. After the birth of Elise, it looked like Estelle and Marius's relationship was falling apart. No one knows what happened to prompt this, but the pair began to act more cold to each other, snapping more often. Young Elise had no idea this was going on and continued her happy life of tormenting other children in primary school. Eventually, only 7 years after their marriage, the pair divorced.
Estelle was left to raise a child single-handedly, and her magic helped. She managed to get a wizarding day job in France and dropped Elise at an reluctant babysitter every time she had to work late to make ends meet. At eight years old, Elise had a temper tantrum at school, promptly setting the curtains on fire in the classroom and the fire brigade running. A few windows shattered as well - this was all magic. Elise never even touched the curtains or windows.
Now eagerly awaiting Beauxbatons, Elise hurried through the rest of her childhood as Estelle grew older and more stressed. Eventually, mother and daughter Apparated (and Side-Apparated) to Cannes, where Elise was picked up by the Abraxan horses and carted off to the magical palace.
The girl's first-year was mostly spent building her reputation of being the school's 'Mean Girl'. She tormented everyone - students and teachers alike. She flooded the corridor. She hexed people. Fun times. Of course, she had a few friends that stuck by her for a while, but it was usually a come-and-go thing. Elise didn't care.
Okay, maybe she did.
The girl was lonely, but continued doing what she did. Elise became a Broom Racer in October last year.

Abilities[/font]Lovely Creature
ReducioElise Gabrielle Laurent really did have a rather fair face. Everything about her simply just worked together, including her stereotypical blonde locks paired with her stereotypical blue eyes. Her hair wasn't just hair - it was tresses of gold, with naturally lighter blonde highlights woven in, flowing down her back and almost reaching her waist, stopping at around the point that one might call 'medium'. It was soft to touch - almost silky and was absolutely and undeniably perfect. Her eyes - they were orbs, and in them, you could see oceans, endless waves of bright blue that seemed to intrigue you, puzzle you, draw you in. Her skin was flawless and a milky white - no pimple or imperfection in sight. The girl's features looked like those of a porcelain doll's - incredibly fragile and young, like they might break apart at any moment. When average people look at Elise, look at her characteristics, they feel an inexplicable need to protect this beautiful child. And even though it makes her look rather young for her age, Elise makes it work, everything about her fitting together like the most perfect of jigsaw puzzles. Elise is willowy and slender, with an hourglass figure and slim and nimble fingers.
The girl first realised her beauty quite early in life - Elise was an observant child. She saw people who would stare at her randomly in the street. She noticed others always complimenting her, about her eyes or her hair or her outfit that day. Elise liked this. She soaked up the attention and revelled in it. Once she was deemed barely old enough, Elise began to flaunt her natural good looks even more. She dressed up in fashionable clothes - lace, fishnet stockings, chiffon...they all blended together in a separate complex design each day, as the girl stood in front of her mirror and arranged her outfit.
Elise's beauty was expected - her father, Marius, had broken many hearts in his time at school, with his roguish style, tousled brown hair and mischievous hazel eyes - all combined for a devilishly good look. Her mother, Estelle, had also been quite the stunner, looking almost exactly like Elise in her prime time at Beauxbatons.
Elise knows she is beautiful and she shows it. She dresses up. She breaks hearts. Perhaps not a perfect role-model for someone so pretty, perhaps not the most modest...but at the end of the day, you couldn't deny that Elise truly was a lovely creature.

Terrible Presence
ReducioElise - she was lovely. She was charming. She was charismatic. She was beautiful, gorgeous and many other things that was essentially just adding on to the list of adjectives that described her loveliness. Undeniably pretty and perfect on the outside. Elise was attractive and naturally good-looking and terrible.
Terrible?
Many would be confused at this sort of aura, radiating off her, one that exuded danger and a terrible, terrible feeling no one could just quite place. Horrifying might even be the word to describe it. And this 'aura' was strong. You could almost feel it as a solid form, her very being, her very soul emitting waves of darkness and despair. Normal people tried to ignore this feeling when they saw her, interacted with her, helped her. They concentrated on her positives (which did not include a lot of things) and focused on her dazzling smile, her intense gaze and her flawless hair. They had an urge to help her, and urge to ignore the strange presence they felt. It hadn't been like this last year.
Last year, all was well for the young and beautiful blonde. She tormented people, but for her own enjoyment. She relished breaking all of rules and climbing to the top of Beauxbatons social ladder. Nothing prompted this - simply her own snarky, devious and rather mean nature. The point was, she did all of what she did for fun.
However, in the summer of her first-year, everything changed.
The girl was rather young for all this. As Elise travelled home happily, feeling fairly content and accomplished - as well as proud for finishing the year at Beauxbatons - tragedy shook the Chevrolet-Laurent household. Estelle Chevrolet was growing older, yes, but a death would not be expected at only thirty seven years of age. Elise had already prepared for a passing, of course. Elise was the sort of girl who liked to prepare, map out, plan and anticipate everything. When her mother, or father died, she knew that by law, she would inherit their money. Being the cold-hearted girl she was, Elise didn't really mind if her relatives died off. More money for her future. And anyway, her parents didn't take spectacularly good care of her. She hadn't seen her father in a while and her mother was distant these days.
What happened was Estelle and her sister, Elise's aunt, got into a heated argument in the year. Her sister turned on Estelle, for reasons unknown. The shouting match blossomed into a fight. Apparently, Marius showed up in the middle of the duel, for once deciding to visit his wife and make a few amends while their cold daughter wasn't home. He entered right in the middle of the fight between the sisters, rushing in stupidly to try and stop it. After that...it was all a blur. The duel ended up with all three adults dead.
After that, Elise filled out papers and moved to an orphanage. She was never the same. Everyone in the orphanage knew about 'that terrifying, pretty' girl on the third floor. No couple wanted to foster her. And the girl came back to Beauxbatons, a changed person. She no longed fought or bullied. She was quiet. Yet, the quiet seemed to be a dangerous sort of quiet. The quiet which made you feel on edge, one that sent shivers up your spine. It seemed like a thick, suffocating aura surrounded Elise at all times, one that repelled even the strongest of teachers. No one knew what this presence was.
They just knew it was terrible.
