Passionate about Plants
Private thread for Shiro
Herbology was one of those subjects that Norah found fascinating without it being a favorite. She strove to put in a good effort and for the past few days had been reading up on various plants and plant-related spells. A few days ago, she had received a packet of cherry tomato seeds from her parents. There was a wonderful greenhouse at Hogwarts with a whole variety of plants, and Norah wanted her own slice of it. Her tomatoes wouldn't wail or bite or spit at passersby, but that suited her just fine.
In her research, she had come across a fairly advanced spell that could make plants grow to maturation instantly. A few days of practicing the movement and incantation, and she was ready to try it out. And so, in the later afternoon between the end of classes and dinner, Norah slipped into the greenhouse and "borrowed" a pot laying around and filled with some soil. She knelt in the shadow of some long tables and out of sight from either entrance. The girl wasn't sure if she was allowed to be doing this, and waiting for a time when the greenhouse was most likely to empty wasn't going to help her case. But technically, she wasn't stealing anything, and if it worked, then she would have fresh tomatoes as a snack. And, if her idea was right, the Herbivicus charm could eradicate hunger everywhere. All wizards had to do was grow lots and lots of food. It would be dirt cheap if not free.
Norah pulled out her wand from inside her robes and uttered the incantation with the wand movement. Nothing. Without being deterred, she tried again focusing and imagining the plant sprouting, flowering, and fruiting into the plump red tomatoes on the seed packet's picture. A blast of green energy erupted from the tip of her wand, hovered a moment, and dissipated over the pot. Maybe the soil looked a little scorched, but it was near impossible to tell. Regardless, the tomato seeds remained stubborn seeds.
The greenhouse door creaked, and Norah felt her heart skip a beat. She grabbed her pot and hugged it close to her chest while hiding with her back against the table. The thudding in her heart sounded like footsteps which only made her worry increase. The green blast couldn't have been that bright, could it? With one hand, she cupped her mouth to try and keep her breathing quiet and hope that no one would notice her presence. After what felt like ages but couldn't have been more than several seconds, the girl leaned back against the table. A trowel which had been precariously balanced toppled off the table beside her and landed with a loud clatter of metal on stone. She winced and felt a tightness in the bridge of her nose, and she hugged the pot closer hoping that she wouldn't be found.

Passionate about Plants
Shiro looked around and sighed. His little green corner was taking way more space than the boy thought. He was sure that six or seven little saplings wouldn't be an issue to have next to the bed, yet just in couple of months saplings became a little forest. If Shiro won't solve this fast his plants will most likely be taken away since he wasn't only kid in the dorm. His classmates were starting to complain about it. If all that wasn't enough of a headache for him one of the pots cracked that morning leaving Shiro with a dying plant and a pile of dirt on the floor. Thankfully no one was in the dorm when it happened so Shiro had enough time to collect dirt, wrap plant's roots in a bag and clean up the mess. Now if he could get a bigger pot...
Going to the greenhouse after lessons was forbidden and Shiro knew that. He also knew that his plant won't survive more than a few hours without being replanted. Boy made sure that the path to greenhouse was free and ran there. He peeked inside and smiled. No one was there. If he was lucky he could get his plant new home without getting caught.
Shiro knew well how to plant and could do it with his eyes closed, at least back home. But here everything was different. He had no idea where most needed things were. It was best to be very careful.
He walked in and started looking for a big enough pot. Suddenly behind him trowel fell on the floor. Shiro jumped and yelled in higher voice than any boy would care to admit. As soon as he caught himself screaming Shiro covered his mouth and hid behind a big crate. Few seconds passed and nothing happened. Boy gathered himself and peeked around the crate where he saw his beloved plant laying on the floor. Shiro dropped it when the sound scared him to death. Plant fell out of the bag and from the looks of it broke in at least one place. That realization alone was enough to make the boy forget all his fears. Plant needed his help. Shiro stood up and ran to it. He forgot about the rules, teachers, punishment and possibly getting expelled from the school. He kneeled in front of the plant to inspect it more closely. "No no no. Not good. You need help. Pot and more dirt. And water. Yeah. I can fix this. I can..." He looked around for the items he needed unaware that he was mumbling out loud.
