A Gawky Greeting
It had been a stressful week, and Ellory was definitely in need of an escape from the usual hustle and bustle of the castle. She had went out to the grounds, intending to take a nice stroll around the lake, but when she saw the greenhouses she paused for a moment.
Since she was little, Ellory had always dreamed of attending classes like Charms and Flying because she had considered those to be the most exciting. Now that she was here, though, she was surprised at how much she was actually liking Herbology. It was really interesting, and being around the plants helped her feel calm, which is definitely what she needed at the moment.
With a final look to the lake, which had a few students scattered around it, Ellory decided the greenhouse would be her best option if she wanted peace and quiet. She needed somewhere she could think, and she didn’t want to have to deal with her fellow students yelling and playing obnoxiously.
As she stepped into the greenhouse, she was hit with the familiar humidity she had grown to enjoy. She hesitated for a moment, looking for signs of other students, and was relieved when she couldn’t immediately see anyone else. She carefully walked beside the tables and sat down on one of the stools near the sprouting Puffapods. Ellory thought they looked kind of cute in this stage of growth, and laid her head on top of her hand while she continued to admire them. She felt a sense of security sitting there in the greenhouse, which allowed her to let her mind wander a bit.
Classes were in full swing, and she was starting to have a difficult time staying on top of everything. This had never been a problem for her before, so she was beginning to feel a bit helpless, like certain parts of her life were just out of her control. She knew she was probably just being a worry-wart and over-analyzing things like she always did, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was doing something wrong. When she had brought it up to Emlyn, her sister had just brushed her off and made some sort of joke about it, which was not at all helpful. Ellory loved her twin but she wished that she could have a serious conversation with her sometimes.
Suddenly, Ellory was rudely yanked out of her thoughts. She heard the faint sound of footsteps coming from somewhere in the greenhouse. She immediately jumped up and went to go draw her wand, but being the awkward person that she unfortunately was, she had bumped into the table in the process. One of the nearby pots swiveled and shook, and eventually started to fall to the floor. Ellory instinctively attempted to catch it, but she fumbled in her nervous state and it ended up crashing into the ground anyways.

A Gawky Greeting
It was a fact, Emyl loved to wander around in the ground of the school. Never has he felt such magic before. It has now been a few weeks since his exploration adventures started and he had discovered many hidden places. Hogwarts was a mysterious school, but all he could think was how this all felt like a dream. After all, last year, Emyl Morrel was only a normal boy, growing with both of his parents and his little sister. The boy was wondering if he had changed. Would his parents recognize him once he would return home over the summer? Would he ever be the same little boy that was always helping them with the shop? It was true that Emyl had grown into a different being that he would have been if magic had not been a part of his life, but it was pointless to think of this. What had happened could not be changed. Emyl was a wizard, a Muggle-born one.
Surprisingly, even if magical subjects were his weakness, such as charms and Transfiguration classes, the young Morrel has still managed to get an excellent result on his report card. Some of the lessons were harder to understand for him as he had close to none knowledge of this world, but he had decided to make his parents proud of him no matter what. However, he never expected to have Herbology classes in a wizarding school. He had been overjoyed when he had seen his school program.
Once again, Emyl was looking around the scenery of nature. He was not alone. A bunch of students had been already in the ground, speaking together and disturbing the calm weather. The young boy loved silence, he preferred it over human company. It was something that was and would ever be in his case. Regaining his composure, the young boy walked, lost in his thought, until he reaches the Greenhouse. A location of peaceful environments. The young boy couldn't dream of more. He loved to strictly stay alone with his sole presence. He was used to overthinking about each and every one of his actions, or his dialogues, and staying far from other human beings was extremely helpful for him in order to continue his trail of thought.
Entering the small room, Emyl already knew something was different. The air was thick, he could feel a presence. He was not alone. Someone was in there, probably seeking the same solitude as him. He sighed while passing his hand in his short pale hair. Where could he ever be alone in this school? It was as if each place were already occupied. Unfortunately, the stranger wizard had already heard him and drew out their wand. By doing so, Emyl stepped back from a few steps while dropping a book he had been keeping close to his chest all of this time. Now that he looked closely, it was a girl, she looked distressed. He had probably scared her as much as she did.
Blinking a few times, Emyl kept his eyes locked on her, studying, exploring, trying to analyze the other human. Therefore, a strange silence had taken a strong presence in the room. Only both of their heart and breathing could be heard. Emyl slowly brings his hand to his lips, passing his finger on them before opening his mouth. Hello, I am sorry for scaring you. It was not my intention. Are you hurt? Something caught his attention. A Puffapod had crashed on the floor, the consequences of their interaction. The young boy walked over there, extended both of his arms in order to take the plants in his hands before replacing it to its original spot. Once it was done, he smiled and returned his attention to the girl. Who was she?

Just living is not enough... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.

A Gawky Greeting
Unfortunately, knocking things over was no foreign concept to Ellory. She had always been clumsy, and stressful situations only made it worse. For this reason, she had a hard time not being jealous of her perfectly graceful sister. It wasn’t fair, especially because they shared the same genes.
At any rate, now that it was clear that the presence in the greenhouse was not a bloodthirsty monster, but only another first year student like herself, Ellory lowered her wand, blushing furiously. She was mortified. She’d never met this boy before, but he probably already thought she was ridiculous due to the terrible first impression she had just made.
“Er, n-no, I’m sorry. It’s my fault for startling easy.” Her eyes darted to the puffapod, which he had been kind enough to pick up for her. She avoided eye contact by any means and continued. “Thank you,” she said, grateful to see the plant hadn’t come to any harm. “Actually, I should be apologizing for startling you,” she laughed nervously while placing her wand back in her pocket. Hopefully he wouldn’t be too offended by the fact she had almost hexed him.
Though she had never spoken to the boy, she was certain she had seen him around before. He had extremely light hair that was a stark contrast to her own dark ashy blonde. At first his eyes appeared to be brown, but as she looked closer she noticed they were a bit lighter than she had expected. She took a moment to study them, her artistic nature winning over her usual disdain for long periods of direct eye contact.
After a few moments, she realized that it had been a bit longer longer than most people would consider to be socially acceptable and hastily looked away. ”Er, right. My name is Ellory, by the way.” She smiled politely at him, eager to continue the conversation to hopefully set the record straight that she wasn’t a complete lunatic. ”Do you come here often?”
