Lavenders
Sorry I took forever! I disappeared for some time!
Kara had a whole operation under way at the moment. She was waiting by the stairs at the moment in the corridors, and these said stairs led to the astronomy classroom. Ever since her meeting with Mr. Chiadovini, she had been trying to think up a way to repay him, as she left no debt unpaid, that was out of the question! It had taken some time to think up a plan, but then it hit her. She was going to clean the whole indoor area of the astronomy tower, but Kara didn't have her own cleaning supplies, so she'd have to figure out how to get some, and she did. Let's just say that nobody should have ever taught her the spell "Alohamora".

Kara was waiting for the corridors to clear out since classes had just been let out. She had to not look suspicious, so she had head down, pretending to mess with her wand as she twiddled her thumbs. Kara was very knowledgeable of the school around her, as she was very curious and wandered a lot. She knew that Leonardo would always put a charm on the door to lock it, but now, she was kind of just depending on luck at the moment.

She watched as the corridor cleared, making her job a whole lot easier now. She quietly creeped up the stairs, looking at the porcelain she had once destroyed. Ah, memories...forgetting that, she kept going till she reached the top. She could've gone higher to get to the tower top, but she was focusing on the indoor classroom at the moment. She went to the door and pointed her wand at it, making a backwards "S", quietly whispering "Alohamora!"

Kara heard a click, a now knew of her success. Well, the charm is called a theif's best friend for a reason! She opened the door as it slowly creaked from her pace. She walked in and smiled, luck had decided to be on her side, but she wondered, how come it opened for her.

She put her wand into her Slytherin robes pocket before going through one of the many secret tunnels she now knew about to the nearest supply closet, and of course, using Alohamora to sneakly grab all the supplies she needed before she returned to the shadows, and of course, she relocked the door, no traces must be left behind!

She returned to the astronomy tower, and the coast was clear! She had planned to do this all before Leonardo returned, and at the moment, time was on her side. She of course got started with wiping the desks, including all vandalism and other stuff stuck to the bottom. The question in her head at the moment was "why must people be so disgusting!?!"

It took a bit of time, but like she was going to let that get to her. She was taught cleaning by the best of the best, her mother. Mum had always said that to do it with joy, and the outcome will be better. Kara was happy she was repaying someone's kind deed, so it definitely show.

In the astronomy tower, there was a lot of glass and other precious stuff, so when she was mopping the glass floor and dusting random knick-knacks, she made sure to be very careful.

It had certainly took a lot of time to clean the whole place, but of course, she had to return to the supply closet to put all over her supplies back. Making sure not to mess up the newly mopped floor, she left the room and returned all the supplies.

When she had returned through the tunnels, she took out the note in her pocket. It was in an envelope with a stamp of wine red wax. The symbol itself was a bundle of ferns, and on the envelope, there was the words
To: Mr Leonardo Chiadovini
From: K.L.C.
Kara didn't know if he would guess her name immediately, but the two knew each other well enough that he might. However, at the moment she hoped he wouldn't.

In the envelope, was the note itself, and it said this...
Dear Professor Chiadovini,

We had met one fateful, and cold winters night in December, and I wouldn't change the way it worked out. I do have a few things to give, and a few things to return. In full, I cleaned the whole Astronomy tower, excluding your personal office because even I know my limits.

I had used cleaning supplies, but I didn't have my own, but to be honest, I did "borrow" them from a supply closet, but they were safely returned, and on the topic of returned, in the envelope will also be found the small crystal vial that held the Potion for Dreamless Sleep. It truly did help and it still does now that I have a larger amount. I am planning on learning the potion early, but I will have to ask Professor Barlow.

On the desk, there is a vase with lavender as well, as it usually helps me sleep, as I do like gardening quite a bit. So I hope you enjoy the clean room and the lavender. I quite enjoyed doing this for you, and have a good night.

Best Wishes,

With the note on the front desk with the vial, lavender, and of course, the key to the room sitting on it's surface, Kara took her leave, and luckily, she didn't run into Professor Chaidovini the whole way to the Great Hall.

Terrible Presence in effect.
| Aura of Unease Present |
He didn’t often forget to do things, but even perfectionists had their off days. In this case, the Seer had forgotten to enchant the alarm on the Astronomy door which would have usually informed him if someone was attempting to break into the classroom or his office. This was for a few reasons, but mostly because there had been sudden work that had come up, props of assigning a large project that he had assigned a week ago. Many last minute submissions were coming to his attention now, and it was now his job to go through each and every one and grade them independently, meticulously, and patiently. Suffice to say, he had been starting to retire to his quarters later and later than he should have been, his mind blurring more and more after every shortened night. A small lapse, and the result had been a tiny forgetfulness which could have been disastrous.

As it was, the Astronomy Professor had woken up, having ‘overslept’ the beginnings of his 5:00 pm office hours, and having finally tidied up and stormed all the way to the tower while the pocketwatch on his waist ticked impatiently past 7:00. Three hours, and he would have his first class, and for the first 2 hours past 5, there had been no Professor to speak of if any student had had any problems with schoolwork.

The Seer fumbled the silver clasp of his hooded cloak, speaking softly under his breath as he tried to somehow make up for lost time. The homework he would continue to grade late into the morning, it was the office hours and preparing for class that he was more worried about.

Alohomora.” He commanded, pointing his wand at the door. With a click, the door opened, and on any normal day, the enchantment which would have alarmed the Seer would have dispelled itself, so he noticed not how there had in fact been no enchantment to break. “What I deserve for slipping on my responsibilities. You have taken upon yourself more than you can handle, Sire Chiadovini.” He chided externally, taking his first glance around his usually humble Astronomy Classroom, worn and torn from former years, so akin to how he remembered it in his earliest school years.

Except now... it didn’t seem all that in disrepair. Had the house elves come and decided to do a deep clean of his classroom out of generosity? Perhaps he was forgetting just how quaint the tower had the ability to be. Both of the options seemed more than unlikely.

Still looking about with a creased brow and critical eyes, Leonardo placed his book upon his desk, quietly observing and appraising the almost pristine room. The desks had been cleaned of graffiti, the scratches which had plagued them due to a first year’s boredom, old stains, new polish added. The small things which always caused Leonardo to look about his room in disgust. The magical graffiti, which would have been more difficult to remove without a more extensive knowledge, still remained, but with the Seer’s mind focused on them now, they were quickly cleaned up until the desks looked almost new. The stone floor was also swept and tidied, no loose papers and no parchment to be found. Everything appeared to have its place, its own little place where it could both be seen and easily reached if needed.

Returning to his desk again, Leonardo’s eye caught a scroll of parchment, sealed with a red wax seal in the shape of a bundle of ferns. Raising an eyebrow, Leonardo broke the seal open carefully, taking the seat behind his desk and probing the letter. It was surprisingly heavy, but as the Seer tipped the envelope, a small phial of crystal make fell into his palm, which was of course the cause of the letter’s substantial weight. Leonardo held it in his hand for a moment, searching his thoughts for why it was so familiar. He had several of these small phials, each of them containing a dose of Potion of Dreamless Sleep, but never had he let one of them escape his sight. As he focused his attention on the letter, Leonardo’s foggy thoughts did clear. Of that December night, when he had met a Slytherin girl who had snuck into his tower, chiding her softly before sending her back to her dormitory with this very phial, then gifting to her a larger quantity of it to remedy her nightmares like he would his own.

Miss... Capricorn, wasn’t it?

Leonardo’s gaze parted from the written words long enough to look upon the lavenders which sat on his desk. A beautiful purple flower, a color which denoted a royal nature. Their strong, yet soothing fragrance filled the air, a sweetness which was of a nature that the Seer was able to enjoy. Tipping his head thoughtfully, he read the letter once, twice, and thrice more, Macbeth joining him for the third reading, the screech owl having just arrived from his nightly flight.

After a moment more, Leonardo gently folded the letter without a work, placing it back in its envelope. Opening a drawer of his desk, Leonardo placed this new, heartfelt letter from a student besides another one with a similar red emblem sealed upon it. Two letters of different circumstance, of different minds, and of different worlds. Both of them dear or detested for their own reasons.

Perhaps, perhaps just once, Leonardo’s footprints were different from the ones which loomed close and abhorrent, closer than he wanted them to be. Perhaps this once, there had been something decent which had come from his actions. Just this once. Perhaps only this once. But once.

The flowers were left for the night, fresh and young, save for one strand of blossoms which, unseen to any other soul save for Macbeth’s, were pressed between a pair of books which Leonardo kept on his desk, preserved to look upon whenever the Seer felt the fancy to.
