SOUNDS LIKE A PAN!

PV Adam Harringtom & Cecily Quinn

Amadea had just finished dinner and was ready to head up to the common room. She was exhausted from her long day of classes and Prefect work. School hadn't been in session for an entire month yet, and Amadea was already ready for summer. While she loved Hogwarts, she had to admit that second year was a lot harder than first year.
Just thinking about all of the homework she had to complete when she reached her dormitory made her want to stay in the Great Hall and keep eating all night. However, curfew was fast approaching and Amadea couldn't be lingering for too much longer. Most of the people had already filed out of the Great Hall, probably trying to find some quiet place to do homework or chat. As Amadea scanned the room, looking at the others who were still there, she spotted some familiar faces.
"Adam! Cecily!" she called over to them, waving her hand. She wondered what they were doing in the Great Hall still. Maybe they were still hungry, too. Amadea weaved her way around the tables until she reached the Ravenclaws. "Hi. How are you guys doing?" As she spoke, she heard a loud growl. At first, Amadea assumed it was some sort of terrible monster that had snuck into the Hall and was going to devour them all. Then, she realized it was only her stomach.
She blushed, hoping that Adam and Cecily hadn't heard it, but considering how loud the sound had been, Amadea was sure even a deaf person could have heard it. She cleared her throat. "Uh, sorry about that," she said, willing her cheeks to go back to their normal color. "I guess I'm still hungry."

SOUNDS LIKE A PAN!
In a regular Hogwarts school day, Adam was put through a lot. Dragged through a gauntlet of classes from Charms to Flying, each with their own strategy and structure of learning, Adam's brain felt like it was desperately working to switch from formulas and histories to incantations and simple belief. When the last professor dismissed their class, he had only an hour or so to breathe before starting on all of the homework he had to complete. Every stroke of his quill, every time he nearly fell asleep in an HoM lecture, it was all in the name of passing his second year. Fortunately, wedged between the dark shadows of lessons and learning, there were three glorious sanctuaries -- breakfast, lunch, and most decadently, dinner.
Though the best meals were saved for the holidays, the Hogwarts kitchens were never less than amazing. The magic of seeing your meal appear right in front of you, exactly the way you ordered it, could never get old. Everything on the plate was delicious, and though he'd never tried it, Adam suspected that you could keep on ordering food until you were too full to move. If there was one thing that could take the boy's mind off of essays and assignments, it was eating in the Great Hall.
At the moment, Adam was attempting to balance the equally-important tasks of wolfing down his dinner and giving a full rundown of his classes to Cecily Quinn. Though they'd met in their first year, Adam and Cecily had only recently become good friends. It was good to have someone in his house that he could ramble to about little things like this. Though Cecily always seemed quiet and reserved, the exact opposite of Adam, she never got tired of him or the relentless commentary on whatever was on his mind that day. If she did, well, she hadn't told him yet.
As he began to finish his story (and his plate), Adam was surprised to find a second friend fast approaching. Amadea Campbell, Hufflepuff prefect and third member of their little trio, had probably called out to him, but he had been too distracted by the sound of his own voice to hear her. Now that she was across the table, Adam shook himself out of his thoroughly one-sided conversation, happy to have a new one at hand. Amadea smiled and greeted them and asked how they were doing, interrupted only by a loud noise from her own stomach. Apparently, she hadn't eaten quite as much as her body would have liked.
"Didn't you just finish dinner?" Adam remarked jokingly, inviting her to sit down across from them and talk. It was close to curfew, but they could spare a few more minutes. Two out of three of them were Prefects, after all, and that certainly didn't hurt. "We're almost done. Well, I'm almost done. I think I might have ordered a little too much."A quick look around at the rapidly-emptying room proved Adam's point. "Other than that, I'm doing good! I was just talking to Cecily about all of our classes. Doesn't the year feel so much harder already? I don't know how I'm going to handle it. How are you two doing with them?" Maybe it was just Adam that felt like he was falling behind. If that was the case, he should probably spend more time studying and less in the dining room. For now, at least, he was content to push aside tomorrow's workload and talk to two of his best friends. He could worry about everything else in the morning.

SOUNDS LIKE A PAN!
It was hard to believe that they were already a month into their second year. It seemed like only last week, Cecily realised, that she and her friends had sat at the front of this very hall, stressfully, and listened to a magic hat tell them whom they would be spending the next seven years of their life with. Little did Cecily know, she would find one of her best friends through her house.
But Cecily's both favorite and least favorite time of that night was the feast. While it was loud, social, and long, it was all worth it for the delicious food appearing without a thought. Endless amounts of it, conjured in front of you so you can eat all you heart (and stomach) desires. Even to this day, the Ravenclaw held her opinion of meals in the Great Hall steady as she scarfed down her meal, listening to Adam babble on about this years' classes. The boy was never quiet, but Cecily didn't mind-- between his constant energy and her reserved nature, the duo cancelled each other out.
Adam cut off as a certain red-haired Hufflepuff approached. Cecily greeted Amadea with a wave while Adam took a breath to begin a new conversation and talk someone else's ear off.
"Classes are definitely harder this year. Maybe it would help if I payed more attention during lectures," Cecily grumbled dryly, not looking forwards towards putting more effort in but knowing she was right. "How about you, Amadea? How are you doing in your classes?"
ooc: it only took five months but I finally responded yay @Amadea Campbell
