"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind."

The table you sit at now is a table that has sat through many centuries; its wood is as old as the castle it sits inside. Brilliant witches and wizards sat in the same seat you have, and it's no surprise if you were to follow suit. You've been sorted into a noble house, one that has ushered forth pioneers, scholars, and new age thinkers of the wizarding world.

Creative, clever, sharp, and wise minds sit among you - the future is bright, and so is yours. The students at this table fly the bronze and blue crest and an eagle that has always symbolized the truthful principles of Rowena Ravenclaw. We are excited to have you here, whoever you might be, and whoever you may be, it begins here - amongst your own. Whether you are new or old, eat well, talk with one another, and may you always find a friend on this table.

Xiao had just been called up to the Ravenclaw table.
Xiao, (who has been jumping in her seat), had been sitting at the very left edge of the Ravenclaw table excitedly. She hold her coat around herself tight and she looked around. She seemed to not stop moving. She looked down. I can't wait to write a letter to all my friends...but it'll need to go muggle post, right? I dunno..
Xiao smiles to herself. If the sorting hat said I'd be interested in history of magic, I guess that's what I'm looking forward to; It sounds really cool! You know, I wish I had a book. Books are fun to read. Xiao starts to drift her eyes toward the table below her, where food lay. Her eyes widen.
"Holy mother of fish sticks, we never had this stuff at the orphanage!" Xiao whispers happily, then starts to eat. She takes a bite of meatloaf. Her eyes widen even larger then before and she starts to shove the thing down, taking each bite quicker then the last.
"Amazing..." Xiao sighs, "How amazing can this be?" She sips her pumpkin juice, then looks around. She had literally just realized that she had been talking to herself. She continues to do so, "This food couldn't get any better!"
Xiao fiddles with the beads in her hair and pushed her bow on the direct top of her head. She didn't know if anyone there could honestly be..mean. I mean, Xiao was the girl with purple hair and viking beads in it and a bow just barely visible under her hat..She at least wanted a good impression with looks. She preferred to look more..sociable then weird. Maybe she was weird, and maybe that was okay.

As Lester waited in line to be sorted, he couldn't help but look at his other peer's expressions eagerly, anxiousness sprawled all over. He couldn't be more ready to see his house. Once after 3 minutes of entering the line, Loller was escorted to the sorting hat, being placed upon his head. As the hat decided, Lester was closing his eyes tightly, begging for the awkwardness to subside.

"Hmm, yes..Indeed, I sense great feelings of cunning, but that has been overwhelmed by the seeking of wisdom and utter acknowledgment.. This boy deservers to be in..... RAVENCLAW!"

As rightfully as the hat's choice has been past, Lester scurries to his seating in the Ravenclaw section, taking refuge in a vacant seat. He smiled cheek to cheek, knowing he'd impress his parents soon enough. As the last bunch of students finished their sorting, Lester spectated pupils going to their respected houses. Nervousness took no hold of the boy no more, only entranced with a thirst for knowledge, a thirst his parents would applaud him for. Just as he began to get settled in his new elected seating spot, a tug alerted him. A girl, obtaining hazel eyes with glowing fluorescent ruby hair stared back.

"Hello there, I'm Lorenna! It seems you're quite happy being sorted in this house, so am I!"She'd gleefully giggle. In response, Lester would awkwardly nod his head. In just the following 20 minutes, the pair would become close newly friends, a friend Lester could trust. With his daunting smile becoming more apparent, he looked forward to his promising time at Hogwarts.

Everybody feel free to interact. He is not talking to anyone in particular.

Taehyung was a boy who would often dwell in the land of day dreams and fantasies. It was not unusual for a young boy to be lost in imaginative worlds of course, where he could do what he wanted done with a swish of his wand, make a cup of tea materialize out of thin air or warm food with just a wave of his hand.

Hence, it would not come as a surprise that he poured over the academic textbooks throughout the train ride to Hogwarts with glee and awe, turning each page to a new wonder of the Wizarding world he hadn't even heard of, excitement thrumming through his veins like lightening that would not be dampened anywhere near as the end of the first year at least, at the knowledge that he could wield magic, actual, real, true magic. He had been so, completely immersed absorbing all this new knowledge that he had not even engaged in the one thing he enjoyed the most, that being engaging in conversations and making new friends, socializing, with the chattering, young witches and wizards he shared his compartment with.

Furthermore, reading about the houses and the history behind each of them, he was so sure he would land in the house of badger, ready and eager to done garbs of yellow and gold the rest of his six to seven years as a student of this magical school.

Imagine his utter surprise, however, when the sorting hat lowered on his head, barely touching his temple before declaring him a Raven Claw. He had been shocked to say the least, having trouble comprehending how he had ended up in a house that he had been under the impression was a house of intellectually superior people, ones who would perhaps go on to become scholars and professors when he was one those who barely passed his classes in the muggle world with a bunch of Cs and Ds in his grade sheets.

But the surprise was worn off quickly by his elation at finally being sorted because he didn't feel anyone even cared what house they were in, not realizing how wrong he was. After all, they were all going to be studying the same things, together most certainly, and houses didn't really make a difference in job opportunities. So what difference did it make.

"I am just happy I was sorted. I would have been fine with any house. The hat knows better anyways." he announced enthusiastically as he took a seat at the Raven Claw table, squeezing into the place two older students made for him, once the cheers and claps on his back and the ruffles in his semi permanently, dyed, lavender hair at making Raven Claw had died down.

"I am not very smart but I suppose there is more to Raven claw than just smart if I made it here, huh?" His grin was wide and blinding, unfazed by anything anyone would have to say. He would never admit it but somewhere in the back of his mind there had still been a tiny, nagging worm wiggling around in his head, telling him perhaps there had been a mistake and he didn't belong here, because he wouldn't be human if he didn't doubt himself at some point, especially since none of his parents were magicians. But finally having been sorted, he couldn't curb the way his face so obviously glowed with energy, wiggling in his seat and unable to sit still even as his cheeks bulged with food while the rest of the first years were being sorted.

"Taehyung, huh?" Albert questioned. He struggled a bit with the pronunciation initially, but fairly quickly grasped it.

"Korean, do you speak the language too? That'd be cool", he probed again. He soon learned that Taehyung's parents did not speak Korean around the house since he was five, to avoid confusion.

Albert quietly noted that his parents had done the same thing for his Eastern European culture as well. They had been careful not to immerse him, for the fear of conspicuity in public. I guess he's pretty much in the same situation as I am, despite a different appearance.

Albert later went on to learn that Taehyung also felt like Ravenclaw house was not his best fit. Maybe they could see through the Hogwarts experience together. That definitely would be nice. The kid seemed nice, despite having quite a difference in appearance with most (if not all) of the other students.

He was not normally this quiet, but the new environment was a little shocking to him. He ventured to ask, "Maybe want to come tour the grounds tomorrow?". He hoped that Taehyung might respond affirmatively, but he never knew how the people were here. They were much different than in Edinburgh, where he grew up.

"Hey, tonight I'll be in the Boy's Dormitory. You'll see my bed on the far right wall, it should have a red bag underneath it. Wait around, maybe we can talk later", Albert said.

You never know how somebody could turn out. I guess it's worth getting to know him then.

Lilith wasn’t used to this. She wasn’t used to rooms full of people, or the chatter, or even the food; frankly, she wasn’t used to anything in the world that otherwise people would call “normal”—normal, both by muggle and by wizard standards. Due to a previously isolated life with a single relative—not counting the one who left—she wasn’t exposed to the world until she got her letter from Hogwarts. At the moment, the young girl was showing the qualities of an introvert: she wasn’t talking to anyone, or doing anything really, just staring at the food, the people, the table, her lap.
She wondered what she should do now. Eat? No, she wasn’t hungry. Try and do a conversation, same as what she did on the train? No, for one she had lost the two people in her effort to be last, and second she did not have the courage to talk to any other people.
So she could only do nothing.
Of course, it wasn’t very hard, doing nothing; she had quite an imagination and soon she was lost in her own world of thoughts. She only woke up from her reverie when a ghost passed through her; she felt as if someone had drowned her in icy water. She gasped and jumped up, almost ran, but did not under the obviously disapproving look of an adult; she knew that the person could be looking at the ghost, but she was still afraid. She settled down on the table, waiting for something to happen.

Who says what is true..? Not everyone will listen...but I will...

Interacting with @Albert Peshkov

Sorry it took me forever. I didn't see your response. 😞

It was easy to strike up conversations for the eleven year old but the intuition of when a person was struggling to return his overwhelming geniality came easy too. Perhaps why despite the other boy's quietness, he didn't sense any awkwardness and he was rather jovial about it. More than that, he was happy he didn't sense any kind of bias against his ethnicity as he had been slightly, not diffident, but apprehensive about someone or the other bringing it up as a way to exhibit racist behavior, whether it be by purposefully mistaking him to be a Chinese, who had it much worse in the country or simply using derogatory terms to address him and responded affirmatively to both queries.

"I would love to. Honestly, I do not think I could ever get bored of touring this place." he was sure he would find something new every time he went exploring in the same place and he voiced as much.

Discrimination wasn't something he had been on the receiving end of too often (even if he had been, it had probably been so mild that he didn't even pick up on it at such a tender age) but he had witnessed it, on news, in the gossip flitting around him, when he accidentally eavesdropped. Sometimes they didn't even realize they were being rude. But this was a whole new world and he was not only from a minority but he was also not born of a witch or wizard (or both). He knew he could easily stand up for himself if it were only words being exchanged but he wasn't sure how he would be able to stand up to kids from older years who had so much more knowledge than he did to use against him. His insecurities, however, only stewed in the deep recesses of his mind. He wasn't one to wear his heart on his sleeve even if he may seem like one.

Celeste just looks at the food on her plate. She can't believe she really is a witch. Coming from a muggle family made her clueless to the wizarding world. But due to her hunger, she grabbed a spoon and ate her mashed potato.

She listens to the conversation around her. Something about a summer camp or something. She is never the talkative type. So, instead she began imagining her next story. She has a hobby to make stories in her head. She never wrote it because it always turned bad if she does. Not that it's bad already. She likes the thought of herself being writer.

She also likes to read and sing. Though mostly reading. She thinks it might be one of the reasons she's a Ravenclaw. Either way, she likes the house she's in. She have already read the books she bought from Diagon Alley. She didn't really understand all of them but she thought she'll understand them later on. Her most favorite in particular is Charms. She can't wait to go to class.

She also wonders wether or not will she able to make friends here. Even though she's a loner and a quiet person, it felt nice to have someone to talk to. But, she never did the first move if she talked to someone new. But yet, she wanted to talk to someone to anyways. She sighs. So instead, she just continue her meal.

I stand up from my spot on the stoll taling off the sorting hat from head and making my towards... Ravenclaw. I was sorted into ravenclaw house. I hadn't expected that, I had heard it was for the smartest students, students who got top grades and were brilliant. I wasn't sure if I quite fit that description, in all honesty I thought I would end up in Hufflepuff and kind of wanted to be in Gryffindor. But the more I thought about it the more I was happy to be sorted into Ravenclaw, somehow some way the hat thought I belonged hear that I was smart and creative, a Ravenclaw and the hat didn't make mistakes. Well at least I hoped it didn't.
I head toward the table a few witches and wizards give me welcoming smiles which I self concuiously try to return.
I try to find a plave to sit but most of the table is already filled up. I spot an open seat and quickly head towards it to sit down before someone else does but as I walk someone going by managed to step on my robe and I trip, of course I can't manage to catch myself to catch my balance so i end up falling for straight for the table barely managing to catch myself on the edge of the table before I can falll face first in the patotes.
I sheepishly back up wanting to run but forcing myself to stay, I force out an attempt at a giggle at the experience. "Um, can I sit here?" I awkwardly ask the girl sitting in the bench who I almost managed to fall into. I recognize her as a first year who went a bit ahead of me but I was so nervous waiting for my name to be called that I didn't pay attention to what her name was. She was tanned skinned with pretty short black hair.

Stepping down from the stool, Ellen was at a loss for words. The whole sorting hat ceremony wasn’t exactly something one came prepared for, and even if she was prepared, the ordeal had left her shaken and a little exhilarated. She’d been put into Ravenclaw. Her mother’s old house. She wasn’t expecting that, in fact she was hoping to go into an entirely different House. But there was no use complaining now. She was happy with the decision, excited even. And her mother would be just delighted to learn which House she’d gotten into.

Walking down from the front, she started making her way towards the tables. The massive throng of students all chattering away with each other. A hum of activity permeated the entire hall. A thick atmosphere of excitement and nervousness which she shared. She’d made it. She was officially in Hogwarts. Ellen could hardly believe it; her parents always talked about it, whether they were speaking with each other or telling her their stories. It would eventually come up every once in a while. And now she was in.

Taking in a breathing, she started walking forward, towards the Ravenclaw table. Hearing the students clap for her acceptance. It was both nice and very welcoming and she couldn’t help but smile. Stopping at the head of the table, she scanned the benches, looking for a spot for a few seconds when a girl tripping over her own robes caught her attention. Ellen made to move and help her up, but the girl managed to find a seat before she could. And seeing the space next to her, Ellen decided to sit down as well. With a nervous smile.

“That fall didn’t look fun,” she said, “I hope you’re alright.”
