General The Hufflepuff Table 2018-2019

Ophelia didn't know why she was chosen as Hufflepuff. But to be fair she had no expectations and no house preferences anyway.
She sat on the nearest chair she could find, noticing many people had started chatting so fast. Fixing her locks behind her ear, she looked around with interest. Scanning unfamiliar faces and observing how big the Great Hall actually was.
The girl missed her father a little, thinking of when she will write a letter for the man. She also missed Lukas, her muggle best friend, who thought Ophelia changed schools. She will mention him in the letter for sure.
She didn't know what to expect from her first year on Hogwarts, but it was no use asking herself questions like that. She will just have to wait and see. Thinking about dragons and all other mythical creatures made her heart warm up a bit, even though on the outside, the girl's lips weren't smiling. Moving some small strands off her face, she realized she had been daydreaming for a few minutes. Looking around herself, people were still talking. She wasn't really a regular conversation starter when it came to strangers, but who knows, maybe Ophelia will find friends when she least expects it.

Cecilia smiled happily, this is probaly the best house he could have been sorted to. The students are nice too, in fact, most of the people who help him when they realized he is blind are Hufflepuff students!

Also, he can tell that different houses uniforms have a different clothes perfume! Gryffindor have a strong spice scent, Hufflepuff have a herbal and earthy smell, Ravenclaw have a elegant and delicate perfume scent, Slytherin have a strong perfume that makes you think of luxurious and noble clothes.
As Cecilia was thinking, his cane accidentally droped and rolled away…. God bless his poor soul…
After severus useless attempts to find the cane, he asked a girl who seems to be a first year just like him: “Uh, hi! I’m Cecilia, I think uh” Just so you know, he is blushing an unhealthy shade of red right now:

“ uh… I droped my cane… somewhere near you I guess …. Do you know where it is? ”

Hufflepuff. What? Ann was surprised. She didn't expect to be placed in Hufflepuff. She really thought it would be Slytherin, or at least Ravenclaw. But no. . .Hufflepuff. She knew there was no going back once the hat sorted her. She supposed since she was stuck here for the next seven years she'd have to suck it up and make the best of it. At least this house was made up of kind and accepting people. She was bound to make some friends here. She made her way to the third table, decked out in yellow, and looked around for a seat. Everybody seemed to know somebody. Meanwhile everybody that she knew were in Slytherin. She glanced across the room at the table of green. The snakes. That's who she was raised to be. Did she fail? Was she a disappointment to her parents? She adjusted her robes and took a seat at the far end of the Hufflepuff table. Alone. She didn't like it. But she wasn't one to approach other people. This would have to do for now. She looked down at her plate and sighed. She grabbed an apple and some chicken and pushed it around on her plate. She'll make some friends soon...hopefully.

Another year, new sorting experience.

Reducio
I will be roleplaying as a second year seeing as Miko was sorted last year but it doesn't say that below my name, just wanted to point that out.

Miko breathed in the Great Hall again, plenty of new students getting sorted. He could here the Sorting Hat sing his song and names being called. A boy walked up and got the hat on his head and a loud 'GRYFFINDOOOOORRRR' rang out through the Great Hall as the Gryffindor Table sprang to life, cheering their new member. He remembered when he was sorted, figuring he'd be a Gryffindor or Ravenclaw but here he is, a proud Hufflepuff. My how the year had passed so quickly, the party in the commons, Christmas was awesome and the masked man, all a strange but fun year.

The Hufflepuff boy made his way over to his table and sat down, smiling like crazy. How the memories rushed in, great. Suddenly 'HUFFLEPUFFFFFFFF' was called out and the flags went yellow as Miko jolted up and cheered loudly. Finally, sitting down a girl made her way over to the table, seeming surprised she got Hufflepuff either that or disappointed.

Ah, this again. The good 'ol chat saying why every house is great in it's own way. This was very common among Hogwarts students when they first get sorted. The stereotypes are strong like how they say Slytherins are the jerks, Hufflepuffs are the weak ones, Ravenclaws are the uptight nerds and Gryffindors are the arrogant ones but none of that was true. Every house was great, in fact, when the students get older they will realize Hogwarts is one whole not four parts combined, the school competes against others not themselves.

Still, Miko Limof had a smile spread across his face. The food looked delicious as always, yellow, red, blue and green was seen everywhere and everyone was chatting with their new found friends. What a good start to the new school year! The lad waved to Ann and nodded.

"Hello, welcome to Hufflepuff, home of the Badger! You do not seem particularly happy with the hat's choice?"

We could get killed! Or worse, EXPELLED

Ann sat at her seat, picking at her food. She wondered how she was going to tell her mother that she was sorted into Hufflepuff. How were her friends going to react and treat her? Surely they'd deem her an outcast. Ann Taylor, the Hufflepuff. Breaking a family legacy. She couldn't stand the thought of it. What was she going to say? 'Sorry mother for ruining our family legacy, I'm a Hufflepuff. Better luck next time.' Boy wouldn't that get her grounded until she graduated? Anyways, she should probably eat so she doesn't go hungry. She grabbed herself a pastry and took a bite of it. It had a nice buttery flavor and it was soft and flaky.
She began to lose herself in thought when she was snapped out of it by a voice. She looked up at the boy and rolled her emerald green eyes.
"No, I'm not particularly satisfied with where I was placed." She replied, setting down the pastry and propping herself up on one arm. "Its not exactly what I wanted or expected. . ."

A small frown formed on her face as a strand of her brown hair fell into her face, blocking her eyes. She sighed and blew it away.

Caitlin hopped down from the sorting hat and went over to her table. Try not to screw up on your Frist day here. she thought to herself. remember to be polite to everyone, that's what your parents taught you after all, everyone is equal, doesn't matter what house you get placed in, all that matters is that you're here and you are gonna have the best years of your life. She thought as she sat down. She smiled as she watched the other kids get sorted. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin. She thought counting how many new people were sorted into her house and other houses. She was excited to get to see everything in the castle.

When all the students were sorted and the speeches given, the food magically appeared on the table. Of course she wasn't shocked by this, considering both her parents were wizards, but just to see it appear in front of her was a lot to take in considering at home her parents would always not use magic that much in order to make her childhood as normal as it could be. They didn't like showing off, neither did she to be quite honest. She was just happy that she was finally here and sorted. She was so excited to get down to business and explore everything here.

Lilac shook the hands of her fellow Hufflepuff's introducing themselves, Lilac turned her attnetion towards the rest of the sorting. "Grace Garfinkle' Her friend from the train, "RAVENCLAW" Lilac cheered for her friend, although she rathered the hat didn't scream the names. Next of her friends would be Jade. She waited patiently for Jade to be sorted too "Jade Murphy" , finally thought although she felt rather anxious for her friend "HUFFLEPUFF!" Screamed the hat, Lilac was delighted. The rest of the sorting seemed to take time, then she heard "Flortenia Thistlequill" not before long the hat screamed "SLYTHERIN" Lilac only knowledge of the houses was the hat's song, but something about Florentia being placed in slytherin didn't seem remotely suprising to Lilac. Still she remined herself try not to judge, remember what your mum told you be kind, explain your perspective and consider theirs.

With the sorting over Lilac listened to the welcome to Hogwart speech; which also contained a few rules. Lilac wasn't even aware there was a forest at the edge of the school grounds; too bad it was forbidden to adventure into it, Lilac thought. The crewfew law was hardly surprising be back in house common room by 10pm. With the speech over; The feast begun.

Dishes apon dishes of food appeared from thin-air and Lilac piled her plate with food. She wanted to ask if anyone knew much about Mr Gill, he seemed pretty famous, however the conversation around Lilac revoled around the upcoming school year at Hogwarts. Lilac had so many questions about Hogwarts. As she ate she wondered what were her classes like? What spells would she learn? She turned towards her fellow first years, and engaged in conversation. She was already learning about Hogwarts.

As Jade sat down a few students patted her on the back and shook her hand, Jade sat down and looked to her left to see that she was sitting next to Lilac. "Oh hello Lilac, it's me Jade, we were in the same compartment on the train." Jade said incase Lilac didn't recognise her, a moment later the sorting ceremony was over so Jade was silent and listened to the Headmaster speech, once he was done Jade turned back to the table and suddenly food appeared, Jade was familiar with magic but this was cool.

Jade started to listen in to the conversations around her but after a while decided to "zone out" and just eat. Jade loved food, particularly meat, her Mom had used to call her her little wolf, Jade realised that she really just had the two things her parents called her, her dad called her his kitten and her mom called her her wolf, two opposites. By this time Jade had stoped eating and was starting at the table infront of her frowning. How odd, Jade had just realised how odd her and her family was. How her parents were considered odd too and it wasn't just her. "Are you ok?" Jade heard a voice ask

Jade was brought out of thought by Lilac "The foods cooked by house elves, their small creatures that are sometimes treated like vermin. You see when wizards discovered them they in-slaved them and so for generations they were salves until recently they are considered almost, if not equals. The Hogwarts elves cook and clean and some are paid for their labours, though a lot house elves like working for wizards and will not except pay." Explained Jade

"Are you going to have some of the puddings? I'd recommend trying them now so that you can avoid or seek them out in the future. I personally love the puddings." Jade said putting some more pudding on her plate.

Hmm, this tastes exactly like Moms pudding. At least I'll have this to remind me of her, if all els fails. Jade thought eating the pudding, it was very flavourful and had the same spices in it that her Mom used.

Jade couldn't wait to go to bed, to get to see the dorms. "Man am I tired. I could fall asleep right now" Jade said yawning and stretching, she was going to have a good nights sleep tonight, that was for sure.

"Quint, Sarabeena." the professor called.

Sarabeena swallowed hard, and moved to the stool. She was a tiny girl with long red hair and bright blue eyes, her normally set-in-stone smile was now replaced with a look of worry. She screwed up all the courage she could and sat down on the stool, the hat swimming on her head when it was placed.

Sarabeena's eyes shut tightly as the sorting hat started to rhyme off all of the options that it could have put Sara into, those close to her could see her muttering to herself, when suddenly the hat decided on:

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

The stunned look in Sarabeena's face was confusing; it wasn't angry, it wasn't happy, it wasn't even sad, it was simply just - stunned.

Sarabeena flopped down at the Hufflepuff table, her eyes slightly misty as though she thought about crying. "I should have been in Ravenclaw..." She said to herself quietly, still disbelieving what she was just told. Her eyes looked up to the other Hufflepuffs at the table, she looked as though she were suddenly lost and not sure how to interact with her fellow students. All she could do, is swallow the golfball sized lump in her throat, and say shyly:

"Hi."

As we all know; the road to hell is paved with plastic miniatures and polyhedral dice.
