Missing the Simple Things PV Sarah Lightwood closed

Winters had only occasionally been a bother to Henry, it all depended on how many layers he wore. Currently, he was wearing a long sleeve shirt, a cardigan, a sweater, and his winter coat. He felt content in these layers as he built a small contraption in the courtyard. He wasn't sure what it was going to do yet, but he was thinking about making snowballs or throwing them. He found that a lot of his contraptions and pranks involved throwing things at people.

He added on a small piece and took a step back. With a sigh, he knocked the whole thing down with a foot and plopped down to his knees. He was done with building for now, his mind just wasn’t in it. Instead, he began to grab the snow, piling it into little sections. He had never really seen much snow, it wasn’t common in London. When they did get snow, it wasn’t very much. Here, however, there was a good layer of snow on the ground. He formed a small tower out of the snow and tried his best to create small details. He’d seen sandcastles in pictures before. He was wondering if he could make a snowcastle.

He sat there, building up columns and towers, trying his best to make a snow castle. Once he was done, he scooched back and took a look at it. It was a bit wonky, but he did like how it turned out. Man, Daniel and Diana would love this. He lit up when he remembered that they could and began patting the pockets of his jacket, digging into them among the little things, looking for his cellphone. When he didn’t find it, he remembered that he didn’t have it on him. With a big sigh, he threw his head back dramatically.
