Jay Victoria sat on the ledge of the bridge that connected to the courtyard. They looked down, they could not see the end as it was filled with mist, they looked up once again. If they fell they would be doomed. Next, Jay moved their legs over to the other side so that they were now dangling into the dangerous depths. Now that they were a third year, they could do more things like go to Hogsmeade. Back in their second year they were very excited to have that ability, but now they simply did not care. Jay has lost interest in almost everything.

Sir Victoria was gone.

He was and still is nowhere to be seen. Over the summer Jay had hoped to get some sort of information about him but all they found out was that Lady Angelique herself had no idea of his whereabouts. Se had tried to hide her distressed face but Jay knew. Sir Victoria had gone away in the middle of their first year, and that was that.

Tears started to stream down their face. Did Jay get abandoned by the one person they thought cared about them? Was the sad reality that no one cares about them? That they were just a bloody orphan all along? The hours they have spent studying and pleasing Sir Victoria was just a waste, wasnt it? He didnt care. Jay thought that perhaps they were going to be the heir to the manor. Sir Victoria had no children nor family.

They cursed.

Now they just laid down on the ledge, hoping no one would annoy them. Jay had stopped crying at this point and now their face was just red.

If there's something wrong with the they/them pronouns, just let me know!
May got out of the castle doors as fast as she could, not daring go into its walls at this time. She already knew a lot of the Hogwarts passages, something that would have cheered her up and make her go into it and, well, be happy. But not today. May was going to take some fresh air and take her sketch book with her, hopefully that would give her some inspiration. But May didn't feel any inspiration come into her.

She sat on a bench in the courtyard, tearing off pages from her scketchbook, ashamed of the awful drawings she was doing, and almost to the verge of tears. Yet again, the song the birds sang through the forest and grounds comforted her, making her feel more fresh and happy. Everything that had ever happened in the past forgotten. It was just her, now, and nobody could stop her sudden twinge of happiness. No one.

But May got distracted almost instantly. Tears. Sobs. Someone having a bad day, someone crying. The Hufflepuff stood up, and looked directly in front of her, where a blue haired person lay, crying. May blinked and stared directly at them, hopefully they couldn't see her.

May approached them slowly, and sat down beside them. Hopefully this person wouldn't tell her to get away. Sometimes, May was a very comforting person, when she wasn't slapping them or giving the, snappy retorts. But if this person would just accept that May was helping them, then, May would help, in her own way. Laying a hand on their shoulder, May said in a clearly audible yet soft whisper: "Hey- don't worry. Everything's going to be fine. Besides, all of your problems will be over soon, you know."

May didn't bother to ask a simple 'are you ok?" because they was not.

As they heard a sound and realized a random person had sat down next to them, they quickly sat up, wiping their eyes. They faced forward, not daring to look at the person next to them, their hair bangs covered their eyes slightly. The person then laid a hand on their shoulder which then made Jay jerk away in a small panic, they turned their head at her, giving her a cold glare.

The girl had then spoken, she had said words that angered them more, "You know nothing of me or my problems, nothing is going to be fine and nothing will be over soon,"they spat.

Jay didnt care if they were being mean, what was wrong with people who think they know everything about others? Jay only had one friend and that was all they needed, there werent such people who "understands" them. What would they know about having a guardian who does illegal things and then suddenly dissappears with the high chance of being hunted by other bad people? Honestly, people were idiots. They bit their lip and kept quiet, they looked down at the ground hoping the girl would just go away or at least stay quiet too...

It seemed like the person she had encountered didn't want to be happy. But May's expression was still untroubled as she sat down beside them. "Well," she said softly, trying to soften them up a bit, "Maybe you'd like to talk about it?"

May knew that these experiences would be over soon. But really, the tiny Hufflepuff didn't know that there were things that couldn't be changed, things that couldn't be reversed. She only wanted to make friends and live a worthy and happy life. But was it all possible? Would it all be possible, not to worry about anything, help others and tolerate them?

May knew it wasn't easy. So she offered them help. "You must feel very lonely," she continued. But that was how May felt right now. Was it a projection? No, it couldn't be. She was now taking out her calming skills once and for all. How charming.

Really, May didn't like admitting that she was nice. Since summer camp, she was now cold and distant with everyone and didn't want to talk to anyone anymore. Am I changing? Am I being nice now?

But May knew that deep down, she was still cold inside.
