Blossom Ball - Underworld
English = 337085Closed to interactions in the UnderworldFor Moderation:Lavinia was scared. She had heard so many stories about what happened at the balls and other school events that she rarely ever went to them. She was so frightened that something might happen to her that she didn’t live her life. All she would do was play quidditch and attend her classes. There was one day where she talked about it to Haley Rose and it lifted some of her worries away. Lavinia knew she had to attend this ball for herself, if she didn’t go then she would never have a chance at getting over her fear.
That’s how she found herself in a tealish dress walking towards the courtyard. When the first ball posters started to come out, Lavinia felt more comfortable with going but the last few had made her doubt her decision. She had tried to not look at them so they didn’t cloud her judgment and just focused on the numbers at the bottom of each one. Pretty quickly she realized it was a code and put her energy into solving each one. They were all different Greek gods/goddesses and it made sense that they would fit it into the theme.
As Lavinia neared the entrance to the ball, her fears were ignited but she knew this was the only way to slowly get rid of them. All she had to do was face them head on. Arriving in the courtyard, Lavinia was ready to turn right around at the sight of it. It was dark and cavernous looking, with blue flames flickering. She tried to focus on why she was there, it was all for the experience.
Lavinia was not a fan of this setting at all and was so glad when she saw that there was a second section of the party that seemed happier. Once she saw it she started towards it immediately without even a word to anyone in the courtyard. She just wanted to get out of that gloomy place as soon as possible.ReducioAction: Leaving the Underworld to go to the Spring Festival

Rodion MakarovichReducioViolet wasn't sure as what greek godess she was going to the Blossom Ball as, but she knew that she wasn't going as anything that look very, uh, ancient greek style at the least. Her mother had sent her a package with the outfit she was supposed to wear the 29th, and that was the only thing she could put on for the ball, no exceptions. The outfit consisted in a flowy green dress, silver high helled shoes and a small necklace. Violet later on decided to wear a okay-ish bun herself, and she seemed ready to go to the courtyard, where the ball was supposed to be held.
She had to admit, the invitations that appeared twice a week were pretty scary, at least the last three ones. Violet wondered why the Blossom Ball was going to be so dark, or so it seemed- it was more of a greek ball than a blossom one, but that was alright with her since she really did like greek mythology.
She walked to the ball a bit late, since she was really considering not going. A lot of rumors had been going on that the Hogwarts events didn't end up very well most of the time, and the thought that the school was organizing another one wasn't really thoughtful, in her opinion. Not having atended a Hogwarts ball herself, she decided to go and see what would happen whether it was good or bad, it was worth a try.
When she arrived at the "Underworld", Vi felt that it was a bit too scary, given the music that could be heard and the "energy" that it gave. It was like the feeling she had when she saw the illustrations of the invitations to the ball.
She saw Rodion waiting for her, and she went straight to him. From afar, the Russian boy didn't look bad, but when she approached him, she saw that he looked as thought he was going to the beach. She stared at him, and instant regret spread through her. She was going to comment on how bad he looked, but stopped herself. She was going to have fun, even if her date looked horrible. "You look, ehrm, okay." she managed to say. "Want a drink...?" she said, pointing at the punch table where the colourful drinks were. "We could maybe even go to the trials later on. "Luka! You look iconic," Anastasia said, nodding at her friend when he arrived. "I really like the top hat, and green does suit you well!", indeed, she did think that the top hat her friend was wearing was fun and nice, and green did suit his blondness pretty well. Besides, he sticked with a blossom wear instead of greek, wearing some green flowers on his hat, which was a nice touch to the actual theme that the blossom ball was supposed to be.
"Oh, no its okay! I only had to wait a bit, don't worry." she smiled at her friend reassuringly, nodding exitedly. When he offered a drink, she accepted eagerly, walking to the punch table where the colourful drinks were. She looked around to see who was entering the Underworld, when she spotted @Rodion Makarovich @Aurora Ranvier enter the courtyard as thought waiting for someone. Elena examined her hair for what seemed like the hundredth time that evening making sure there were no loose strands dangling about anywhere. It was a very special night because the Blossom Ball was indeed upon them. Unlike last time which had ended in a rather fiery wreck, this year's annual ball was not being held on the Pitch which Elena supposed was a good call on the organizer's part but rather the courtyard which in a sense was much more preferable to her. Smoothing out the front of her royal blue dress, the brunette made her way out of the portrait hole which proved to be quite the endeavor especially with heels but she got it done nevertheless. Adlai and her had arranged to link up beforehand and make their way down as the corridors were already getting polluted with students so it was better they start making their way down.
Adjusting the blue and red toned necklace that sat against her chest, the Gryffindor girl made her way down to where she knew the Hufflepuff common room lay near the kitchens. It would be hard to spot her Hufflepuff friend given the sheer crowd that was gathering but Elena wasn't about to be swayed just because of that as she managed to find some wiggle room and perhaps just in time too as her friend materlizaed in front of her wearing the garb they had all picked out not too long ago, Elena grinning from ear to ear as she looked her friend up and down. "Marvelous, Adlai. Here, let me fix that for you." She replied one hand drifting up to adjust some folds of the fabric of her friend's headscarf so that it fit more snugly before turning their attention to where the stream of students were heading towards. "Come on then." The Gryffindor said giving her friend a nudge before the both of them embarked on their way to the courtyard which at this point was clamoring with students all dressed up in their Greek clothing representing some god or goddess, Elena was sure.
The courtyard on the other hand looked not like the happy, bright, cheery climate that Elena was normally used to. This year had taken a different theme as she glanced around taking in the slow-moving music coupled with the dark, brooding environment. It was a different approach that perhaps didn't appeal to some students who opted to move to the more brighter spring area. "You okay here or do you wanna go on ahead to the Spring Festival? It's not as creepy there anyhow." Elena whispered to her friend as they immersed themselves within the crowds of students, a few faces that the Gryffindor girl knew well but among the thickly packed horde of kids, it was impossible to make out anyone in here save for herself and Adlai who stuck together like glue, the brunette opting they should at least sample the punch table. She decided not to bring up the fact that it was the punch that had been tampered with before at events like this. "Is this your first ball?" Elena asked somewhat curious as they neared the drinks eyeing which one looked like it wouldn't cause them to heave up their insides.

Blossom Ball - Underworld
--Sat. May 29, 2021⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯The day of the Blossom Ball was here. After what seemed like many months of waiting, it had arrived, and Gia and her best friend Gabby were walking into the interestingly decorated courtyard. Although the girl didn't care much about her looks and her outfit on most occasions, a ball was the one time she would make an exception to that rule. While she still didn't really mind that much, Gia had put a little more thought into her costume-like dress for that evening.
Having sent home a request for some greek, spring-like dress to her muggle best friend's house (her father would never know what type of thing to buy, and Alayna knew her style way better), Gia had received a gorgeous light pink dress by owl, along with a few other things. Her sandals, which she'd brought along way back at the beginning of the school year, were also part of her outfit, and looped around her neck was a pretty dandelion seed necklace that she'd received for her birthday all those months ago. All in all, Gia thought it looked decent, if not quite pretty.
Grinning over at her friend, Gia gestured around them excitedly. "The courtyard looks so... different," she said. "It looks super good, though! And kinda creepy, for some reason. Like, listen to the music!" Her voice lowered slightly at the end of her sentence, for she didn't want too many others to hear. Gia Adelard, creeped out by decorations? Nonsense. It didn't even make that much sense, because nothing about the scene was actually, like, freaky. There was just something about it that made Gia feel weird. Oh well.
Looking around the two of them, the first year realized that most of the others were in, like, full ball gowns. Gabby too, but not as much, at least. Shrugging to herself, Gia walked farther into the area and scanned it curiously, searching for people she recognized and things that seemed interesting. Seeing a few people she knew, like Calanthe (one of the girls from that Valentine's Day dinner thingy), Aurora (from the Quidditch scrimmage that she got knocked out of), Violet (also from the Quidditch scrimmage!), and Elena (from multiple errands), the first year smiled to herself. She knew a decent amount of people there already, which was nice.
Waving at Elena, who she hadn't seen in quite some time, Gia said to Gabby, "Hey - can I go say hi to Elena over there? I'll be right back, I promise." Giving her best friend a slightly apologetic look - they had just arrived, and she was already wanting to say hi to someone - Gia waited for a response, hoping that the older Gryffindor would stay in the courtyard for a little longer so they could have a quick chat.
Spotting the oddly colored fountains of punch or whatever it was, Gia made a quick note to herself to check those out later. They certainly looked interesting, she thought.ReducioSlight godmodding approved by Gabriella's writer

Blossom Ball - Underworld
[font=times new roman]
There was a different type of energy he was feeling as he got ready for the ball up in his dormitory in the early afternoon. Zykeal was slightly surprised when Opeila asked him to the dance, hell, he hadn't even thought about going to it until she had proposed the question to him. Honestly, he was fed up with these types of events always going awry; there was nothing normal at this school. Instead of being nervous for a date, one that'd inevitably go wrong as all the past ones had, but, he was feeling happy. The second year was going to enjoy the evening with a friend.
Although his family didn't have a lot of money, he did his best to craft what he considered an appropriate attire for the themed ball for the evening. Zyk had a hidden fascination with Greek mythology when he was younger, their biggest attraction to them to him was their flaws; highlighting no one, not even a god, was perfect. With that thought in mind, he tried his best to put together a decent outfit for the evening. Unfortunately, he couldn't manage to figure out how to properly make a top for his attire, so, he'd have to go bare-chested. It was a month from his birthday, he'd be a teenager finally, and maybe he would have felt a little self-conscious then; now though? It was all fun.
The boy had specifically carved wooden armlets that slid up his arms and wrapped around his forearm from his elbow to his wrist bones; held there steady and tight against his skin. It took a while for him to carve them and when he was satisfied with the pair, he'd go ahead and paint them gold. There were very few things that his mother knew that he'd owl her for, some small school supplies and a little bit of crafting material that'd help me at least be able to fit in at the school dances. Although she was always busy working, she found time to send him an interesting patterned cloak that she had picked up from a thrift shop and a little bottle of gold paint.
As such, Zykeal had no problem making himself a make-shift outfit for the evening. Of course, he'd go as a God, why wouldn't he? One thing the boy had always been was cocky, there was no denying that and he accepted it as a character flaw with himself. Regardless, he'd have fun with the idea and didn't mind showing a little skin at this event tonight. Having also made a braided rope to attach his to his cloak, he'd drape it over his back and attach the braid over his neck so that cloak sat over his shoulders and along his back, reaching all the way down to where it dragged an inch of the fabric upon the ground.
The ivory-white aspen wood wand would be stowed in the waistband of his ivory white makes-shift fustanella, held up by another golden rope braid. With his attire complete, he'd make his way out of the second-year dormitory and head down the stairs towards the exit to the courtyard. When he approached the Great Hall, those golden hues of his, matched by his attire would scan the premises to see if he could spot Opeila at that moment. When he noticed that a crowd was already gathering though, he'd go ahead and head towards the entrance of the courtyard and make his way through. It was a bit chilly, being so... bare.
A little shiver ran the course of his body before he mastered his mind on the chill and looked around the area. There was already a commotion going on with some of the students, this was typical and quickly overlooked. Those bright golden eyes shifted towards the refreshment area and he spotted her after a moment. A soft smile pulled across his features as he walked across the courtyard and its mysterious lighting towards where Opeila was lingering. When he reached her, he'd stop a step away from her and shift his hands to his hips where he'd jut out a little pose for her, "Oy love, looking lovely my friend," he offered as his Irish accent was accentuated by his jovial mood.
Looking to the refreshment that she was drinking at the moment, he quirked a brow and couldn't help but to question, "You gon' live after that?" he couldn't help but tilt his head to the side as he inspected the drink that she held for a moment. A little shrug was soon to follow as he looked the Opeila up-and-down for a moment and then nodded his approval, "You're my goddess for the evening, let us have some fun for sure, no drama," he added the last bit, knowing both of them probably have had too much drama in their short lives to last a muggle lifetime.

Blossom Ball - Underworld
The Blossom Ball was finally upon them. Ever since Gia had invited her the previous week, Gabby had been feverishly excited - although she hadn't originally been planning to go, she was now incredibly glad she was going, especially with her best friend. She had quickly arranged a Greek-style ball outfit - a long, royal blue dress, a golden clasp around her waist and some sandals that were actually hers already but looked authentic enough - and a talented dorm-mate had arranged her hair so that it looked just right for the ball. Gabriella didn't generally have much of a fashion sense, but even she could tell that she looked particularly glamorous tonight.
Not that that mattered, however; what really mattered tonight was having a good time with her friend and deciphering some of these devilish Greek codes that had been playing on her mind all week. It was going to be an interesting first ball, that was for certain.
Gabriella found she had to agree with Gia when she commented on the state of the courtyard - it looked completely different from normal. It was almost totally dark, and what light there was filled the courtyard with a frenzied, yet eerie, sense of excitement. To Gabby it seemed slightly apocalyptic - after all, it was the Underworld - yet she still felt oddly elated by the whole atmosphere. The night was full of potential - whether good and bad or somewhere in between it was impossible to tell, but what was certain was that something would happen tonight. She couldn't be sure what.
"I know," whispered Gabby, glad that Gia had lowered her own register a little. Talking loudly just didn't feel right in an environment like this. "It feels really spooky!" She couldn't tell whether she liked it or not, just that it made her feel incredibly excited.
"No problem," she said, as her friend asked if she could say hi to her friend Elena. "I'll wait here." She vaguely remembered Elena from Gia's birthday party back in February, but she doubted the third-year would recognise her. As Gia slipped away, Gabriella took the opportunity to check for anyone she knew herself. No, there wasn't really anyone, nobody she knew personally, except Mathias and Amelia, who she had interacted with once on the train at the start of the year, and a few people she had played Quidditch against. Apart from that, there was nobody, except... "Rhea!" Gabby cried, slightly louder than she should have done, given the environment.
Lingering in the crowd a little way off was her own - friend? - Rhea Miller, to whom she had attempted to teach art back in February. They had got off to a bit of a shaky start, but the encounter had ended with them being, pretty much, friends. "Uh-" She paused for a moment, wanting desperately to talk to Rhea but also not wanting to move away from her spot and lose Gia in the crowd. "Rhea!" she repeated a little more quietly, still hoping her voice would carry over the hubbub. "Uh - over here!"Word count: 521

Carolyn was battling a mixture of emotions while getting dressed. She was simultaneously angry, disappointed, sad and a bit ashamed as well. She specifically asked her dad before leaving to make sure they send her a dress for the ball so she wouldn’t have to wear whatever her maternal grandma sent her this time. She didn’t want to accept any more gifts from that woman. Yet, here she was doing just that because her parents forgot again. Though she had to admit it the white and gold dress was pretty and fit the theme rather nicely, it also was unnecessarily fancy. The fabric was soft but felt wrong on her skin, not because there was something amiss with the garment itself but because of who the giver was. She was also worried what her partner might think. Carolyn wasn’t worried about upstaging the Hufflepuff, since the girl was beautiful no matter what she wore, but she didn’t want her to think that she was showing off. It was bad enough the dress made her feel bad; she would hate it if it ruined Lucia’s evening as well. “At least she had the decency to choose comfortable shoes,” the witch muttered under her breath bitterly and sighed for what seemed like thousandth time. This was so not her style and precisely something, her grandma pushed her to like. She couldn’t care less about her granddaughter feelings, she just wanted to make sure she was representative enough for her family. It was disappointing enough that she wasn’t sorted to Slytherin.
“Well…here goes nothing,” the witch sighed for the last time before leaving the tower and heading towards the courtyard. She carried herself with grace of a dancer but it was clear she wasn’t entirely comfortable in her outfit. Anyone who met her more than once knew she usually wore pretty, but in no way showy, clothes. She liked to be comfortable and she liked to fit in. Being in the centre of attention wasn’t something she enjoyed…on the contrary. Don’t worry Carolyn, there will be plenty of girls with amazing dresses, yours are not THAT special. She reasoned with herself while conquering the stairs. Thankfully, the dress did not reach all the way to the floor so it was not a difficult feat. The thought was somewhat comforting. Considering how many people would attend the event, not just from Hogwarts but from all the other schools as well, she definitely wouldn’t stand out much. The nature of the outfit was just messing with her head. Hopefully once she blended with the crowd, she would get more comfortable and in any case, Lucia was prettier than her for sure. In the end if anyone noticed them, it might be because of her partner rather than her.
Okay, let’s stop obsessing about the clothes. You are here to have fun and perhaps make a proper friend. Carolyn reminded herself as she was entering the gloomy yet still somewhat charming atmosphere of the courtyard. While she already considered the Hufflepuff her friend, it was not like they were extremely close. They bonded over their love for dance and got to know each other a bit more during the bonfire event but she never really told her anything she couldn’t tell any other girl at school. The only person she would tell more would be Elspeth but her best friend was no longer here and she wouldn’t be coming back. Perhaps it was time to open up to someone else. Whether it would be Lucia or someone else entirely, remained to be seen. Now where was the girl in question? She was starting to feel a bit out of place standing in the courtyard filled with so many strangers alone. Thank god most of the students already had a date and wouldn’t even notice her. In addition, it seemed there was already a fight going on. Why is there always a fight going on? The young Ravenclaw shook her head thankful that she was far enough not to get involved or even know what was really going on. She did hear somebody call them out though, which was probably good. The evening just started for god’s sake.

Katherine had made sure she looked perfect, she was a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to her looks. Thanks to her mother, she always made sure Kath was perfect, Katherine had to be since she was representing the labrouder name. Today was the first time she took off her family ring. That was because it simply didn't match with her outfit.
She would have worn it if it did, She usually wore silver, she much preferred it so the gold was a different change. She had sprayed her cold rose and sea breeze perfume, it wasn't too strong and it would last the whole evening. She had made sure she was completely perfect before heading over to the courtyard or from what the theme is the underworld.
She was surprisingly on time, people were still arriving from what it looks like, there was a fair amount of people. But what she noticed was everyone was either dressed in cheap fabric or bedsheets. She also noticed most of the outfits were bright coloured, She was wearing a black and gold dress. Well, what other way to represent the labrouder name without black.
since everyone in her family wore black to events, was she picking up the family ways? hopefully not she thought to herself, Her sharp icy eyes scanned the area looking for her date, She had her stoic face on showing no emotions, Incase her date decided to ditch. Her eyes finally caught onto a curly-haired silhouette.
A tiny part of her was relieved but the other didn't care. Before he would notice her intimidating expression she changed it to her classic devilish smirk and mischief sparkling in her eyes. This was going to be an interesting night. From what she could scan she noticed he looked impatient, she noticed his tapping on the floor with his shoes.
She also noticed him glancing at his wrist, but she saw no watch. She was relieved that he didn't wear some sort of bedsheet for this, it would have been humiliating. He looked handsome as always but with hints of impatience and maybe worry on his face. She took one last glance around before she walked over to him with poise and elegance and with a little confidence.
She noticed he looked worried, jeez she wasn't late at all, what could he be so impatient about. When she arrived she spoke" I see you're looking handsome as always, I hope you haven't waited too long, inside of the castle was too chaotic, I tried to come as fast as I could to not keep you waiting",
She glanced at him with her same devilish expression" I think we stand out from the crowd, Not in the bad way I think, You look like eye candy I mean a complete sight for sore eyes", she let out a small and soft chuckle hoping to at least help him relax and not be so tense when around her, its the least she can do, just a little flirting to start the long night.

Open to interactions!Amelia felt incredibly bad for Winnie. Her face was nearly redder than her hair, and it certainly didn't help that Ruka looked like he was seconds away from dragging her to the astronomy tower and throwing her off it. He had stepped between the Great God Pan and Winnie, as if acting like the Great God Pan's bodyguard and preventing Winnie from coming any closer. She wondered what had gotten Ruka so angry. Winnie didn't say anything that was offensive, right? He seemed to be in a rush to get introductions over with between the Great God Pan and Winnie. The next thing Amelia knew he was shoving his drink into Winnie's hand and encouraging her to drink it. "Again, I would not drink that punch." Amelia piped up, giving her opinion even though no one particularly asked for it. She stared at the torch in Ruka's hand, which he had held out in front of him, "Is that even safe?" she questioned him, moving slightly away from it because she was not getting burnt tonight.
"Yeah, if it's okay with you, Winnie and I could possibly hang around," She said, agreeing with what Winnie had told him. The tension in the air was nearly suffocating and she would not really be surprised if Ruka told them to go away, maybe she'd be a bit hurt but it wouldn't necessarily shock her.
Winnie had decided to talk to the boy that smelt nice, who she learnt was called Eden, thanks to Winnie knowing his name. They were talking about some Greek Gods that were related, and admittedly Amelia had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. The boy was actually quite handsome, Amelia noticed when she took a bit more time to study him. His hair was a beautiful silver, and he was wearing an absolutely gorgeous gold vest. Amelia had the strongest urge to touch the fine material, but she resisted as she didn't want to make the boy uncomfortable. "Your hair is absolutely gorgeous," she told him. "I don't think I've ever met someone with silver hair before. And your outfit? I absolutely love it. I never knew boys were capable of such style." She laughed, it wasn't necessarily a lie because it wasn't every day that you met a boy who looked like he actually knew fashion. "You also smell really nice, is it a perfume? If so, mind telling me what perfume you used?" she asked, smiling at him.
