INTERACTING: Ella Forsberg, Greta Fransson & Maksim Preobrazhensky
Once again on Hogwarts ground, Niche thought as he would stride through the decorated courtyard of the castle. His white clothes and golden accessories fit him well, yet his blonde hair was slightly tousled as his hand gripped the trident. Of course it was a prop and as thus the tips were blunt, but it still looked quite impressive. He had entered the area together with Greta, who had been asking him to accompany her. It had been a little odd to him, but he knew that if he for some reason would have said no, that perhaps it could have led to a fight between her and his sister or at least a minor argument. He was also sure that she must have talked this through with Ella first, because those girls just talked about everything to each other, so he knew that Greta must have approached him only after some sort of approval from Ella which just really brought him into a tight spot. Of course he didn't mind going with the younger girl and he was sure to try and let her have a good evening, but the blonde just wasn't sure how he felt. He had the feeling, despite the girl's reassurance they would be going as friends, that there was more behind this and he would hate to hurt the girl; Ella would kill him. Nichlas wouldn't let his thoughts show though, he had made his decision and he wouldn't back down from it now. He was sure things would go according to plan, or at least he was confident he would be able to fix things if they went downhill. Greta wasn't actually too bad, he had to admit to himself, but then he sighed as he ventured forth. As he saw Ella though, his eyes narrowed slightly. The girl had some explaining to do. Why was she here? And was she here with someone? For their sake Nichlas truly hoped not, because he would definitely not let some guy get close to Ella. Not after what had happened last summer. It couldn't have been a coincidence, right?

"Ella, what a surprise to see you here," he greeted his sister warily in Swedish, though is he was being really honest, he was not surprised. She was a young girl, so of course she would be going to the ball. "Are you with someone?" he would ask her, this time he would be speaking in English but his accent was thick. Before talking further to his sister, he would offer Greta a charming smile. "I heard they are having some sort of competition or trials going on, care to check them out?", the boy would switch back to speaking Swedish, knowing that this was the preferred tongue of the girl, as she had trouble speaking a lot of English. Not that he was particularly interested in child games, but he wanted to see what the students of this school had to offer. His expectations weren't too high, as he heard countless rumors in his short stay of how there wasn't a single school event that had gone as planned.

He wouldn't be as relaxed for long, as he soon saw a guy approach Ella and he tensed up slightly, the smile wiped from his face as he eyed the boy. "Maksim," he greeted the boy, his voice sounded cold as he stared him down. How did he land with Ella? Niche actually didn't know the boy at all, but a reputation often preceded a person and thus he knew of the boy's arrogance and pride. Not that Nichlas didn't share those attributes in a sense, but perhaps that was exactly a reason for his dislike in the other boy. Never would he have assumed for Ella to have such a poor taste in boys. He would have liked to say some more to the boy, but the atmosphere had already grown tense and he was sure that if he made a scene in front of Ella, it would quickly turn into a quarrel between the siblings, so he would practice his patience, it was a virtue after all. But he knew not to leave them out of their sight and Nichlas fought the urge to not curse Maksim right where he stood. "I advise you to keep your hands to yourself," he added, before he disbanded from the group, giving a glance to Greta to see if the girl would follow; his mind was working overtime. He knew it sounded crazy, but what if it had been a boy like Maksim who had broken into Ella's room not even a year ago?

Irina had gone through each of the trials and enjoyed some more than others but overall had a good time doing them. She had returned to the Underworld hoping that more people were there and she was not disappointed. There was plenty of people and most of them were having their own conversations. She didn’t really want to intrude on anyone so she moved to a place alone.

Her dress had gotten a little messed up from the trials but it wasn’t anything to be super worried about. Honestly Irina had no idea what to do now, she had no clue who anyone was and the only faces that she slightly recognized were doing something else. Looking around the room, everything seemed a little out of place but she didn’t know if it was useful for it to be like this or not.

This school was a mystery to her and even if this ball was out of the ordinary she wouldn’t know because she had never gone to one before. Irina wanted to talk to people and make some friends from other schools but she had no idea where to start. She grabbed one of the drinks laid out and could tell it wasn’t a normal drink, something was definitely wrong with it. Nevertheless, whatever side effects the drink could have she was ready. She brought the goblet up to her mouth and took a sip.

He'd be lying to himself if he didn't take that compliment with a bit of pride. Quinn would need to write a lengthy and thought out letter to Nico's father. He didn't realize how close they had gotten, because in truth. Her father made him very nervous but he was always respectful. Deep down Quinn was a bit jealous of Nico, which he felt terrible for. He honestly didn't mean to! Heck he really couldn't help himself, it's just one of those things that came and was there.

He should tell her about it sometime. They told him he should be more open with his loved ones and as much as Quinn liked keeping things to himself. So far their advice helped far more then not. For his part he kept her held firmly and backed off a little bit with the public affection. He hid it well, but with Nico being so close she'd no doubt notice his flushed cheeks even behind the make up. Another thing that took forever to get just right and let's not even get started on the hair!

Quinn couldn't bow but he flashed a wide toothy grin. Beating his chest softly, though Quinn's soft was enough to knock most students off balance. Curse his large body and enhanced strength! He always felt like he was in a world made of the most fragile glass. Constantly holding himself back and always worried he'd not control himself one day and have a repeat of...no it's a party. Time to just enjoy one's self.

Snapping out of their momentary zone out, Quinn resumed their smile that had dropped and gently reached down carefully bending over slightly. He patted the boy's shoulder. "Well me boyo. We're off to the spring festival. Try not to get into too much trouble. Don't wanna 'ave to come back 'ere and fish yer sorry behind out of whatever trouble." With a hardy but soft laugh, that was rich and deep. The Half-Giant bid farewell to yet another friend and made way from the underworld to a brighter realm, where yet more adventures waited.

"Still comfy mo ghrá?" He asked as he carried her off into brighter horizons.

'Wizarding Bugs Bunny?' What? Who or what was that? What nonsense was that girl screaming? He internally shook his head, not answering the question at all mostly because he had no clue what the girl was asking.

At least her unspurred attack missed him, he would've defiantly been annoyed if he had gone blind, even if temporarily, because of her actions. His attack missed too but it was of no concern to him, the strike was driven by instinct not malicious intent, really.

He watched the girl leave from where he was crouched like some sort of unknown rabbit demon of Hades, when she had fully been distracted, he would step out from his cover, rising back to his full, glorious height... of 4'9. It was a mystery to all as to why a boy of such short stature was so intimidating (Including his creator).

Backing even further into the shadows, further away from the notice of those that milled about either chatting, flirting, or quarrelling, he scanned the area, hidden red hues flickering as he noted the boy he was 'escorting'.

He shifted, facing the boy, ready for their usual way of speaking, only to be started by the exclamation of forced enthusiasm that made him inhale saliva and start choaking.

"Slayyyyyyy! You're looking fa-bu-lous!"

Selim, now choking and hacking, thudded his chest with a fist, dislodging the liquid blocking his airway. Wheezing, he looked up at his counterpart, the Ravenclaw's black rabbit mask Selim had put as much effort into as his own seemingly now partly marred by his possessor. The whole scene would look rather odd to outsiders if they noticed, seeing as how he reaction did not blend well with his hauntingly blank visage.

Recovering, Selim took a breath, him and Aku straightening once more. He glanced at the drawn smiling visage of the black hare.

"That was... quite the entrance." Ronri commented, Selim not really responding since it wasn't necessary to do so to a statment.

"Kaegen..." He paused, not quite knowing what to say after the taller boy's scratchy, faux-cheerful exclamation. He sighed. "Nice to see you've come... ah.. what exactly was the reason for that..." He tilted his head raising a brow, the expression effectively hidden. "forced cheer?"

Aku snickered. "What do you mean, Tea? That was a perfectly natural sentence to come from him-." He wheezed, and Selim sighed, partially at the alias and partially because Aku was particularly exhausting these days. "Slay-" He snorted under his breath, and Selim felt like choking something, preferably Jack.

He rubbed the bridge of his... mask's muzzle(?) finger twitching. "You're being very impolite, and causing a scene, Aku, so please shut you're trap."

The last thing he wanted was for the three of them to be even more noticeable than they were after the dhampir's entrance.

Or were they noticeable? One glance at the chaos blooming around the small trio could honestly convince him that everyone was too distracted to care.

The sickly sweet smell of punch was beginning to throw him off. The reason didn't even have to be because they could be spiked. He just hadn't had sweet things in a very long time, to the point that even smelling anything sweet would make his stomach churn.

The reek of pepper spray didn't help, and upon noticing it he growled in annoyance, hoping the leather wasn't damaged. With his free hand curled around the edge of the sleeve it was poking out of, he tried to wipe the insulting chemical off his mask.

After whatever future comment the dhampir spoke in response to his question, he'd pose another one, trying to calm down his hypersensitive senses. The annoying, likely fake sounds he heard on a regular basis were making everything all the more chaotic for him than it already was. Deathmote wasn't alone in his discomfort, that was for sure.

"What plans do you have for this night? With so many people crammed together in one place, we don't know what dangers could be lurking, so it'd probably be best to stick together..." He hummed, glancing toward the stirring student body surrounding them. "Going from the last two balls I went to and the stories of ones before them would be more surprising if something didn't go wrong tonight."

His mouth felt sticky from the humidity of his mask. Grimacing he reached in his cloak, pulling out a flask filled with coffee (his recent addiction). Lifting his vizard slightly, just enough to reveal his mouth and the charcoal-smeared skin around it (Which, presumably, covered his whole face in an attempt to hide the pale skin below), he took a swig, feeling the burst of false energy brought on by the caffeine-based liquid.

Caffeine did literally nothing for his frayed nerves, but it kept the constant fog of his mind at bay, even if only slightly.

Swiftly he lowered his mask back over his chin, stowing away the flask of Anxiety Juice™.

Today, he'd likely be going through a lot of coffee, it would probably stain his tastebuds, even. Better than drinking sickly sweet punch anyways, less of a chance to vomit out his organs.

Well, at least he had a dhampir by his side, that was more than most could claim.

Her braid dangling behind her, Cassanora briefly smiled at her friend as they entered the courtyard. She wasn't feeling too comfortable in her current get up, but Maddie had insisted on getting dressed up this time. Last time, she had been fine with Cass wearing her school uniform, as she always had. Yet sometimes things needed to be changed up a bit, Cass guessed.

Letting her gaze take in the room, the brown in her eyes shimmered into blue as they took halt on the flame in the dark. She felt Maddie's grip tense and saw her hold her breath. It was true, it was quite a surprise, an ominous one at that. It wasn't particularly festive, and not until Maddie's head turned to follow some students leaving towards the ground. Cass realized this ball had just grown in, at least, twice the size of last year's. "I've got no interests in proving myself." Cass explained to the point. "I have no interest in standing out in any particular way, in fact. Which is whyyy my uniform would have served me perfectly fine." She was complaining, yet sporting a wide grin. "I guess, I do like my hair." She smirked to Mads.

"Lets just move on to the next stage. I'm sure it'll be a bit... livelier than this place." Cass said as her eye fell onto a pair of boys dressed in leather jackets. "Place is getting weirder, lets go now." Her fingers already clasping themselves onto Maddie's arm, she pulled her friend along with her towards the Sping Festival.

The Blossom Ball was never going to be an event of ease for the young witch. No school dances ever were; however this particular dance was a little more so then usual, if only for personal reasons. Illowy had arrived relatively late to the party, entering the courtyard with as strong of a sense of confidence as she could muster as she looked around for any familiar faces among the crowd.

Truly, Illowy ought to have had a bit more pride in herself having come. At the beginning of the school year, she'd been nothing short of a shrinking violet, hiding herself behind a curtain of dark hair and layers of long clothes to hide the aftermath of ichor markings from the year prior. She'd set a goal for herself, to regain some of her confidence and accept how she looked now with the knowledge it may never go away. After all, she didn't want to spend the rest of her life hiding behind leggings and long sweaters. So she'd challenged herself for this ball.

The young Slytherin donned a satiny, fern green dress that just barely hit her knees, and had a single strap in the form of a large leaf. This choice, and lack of a shawl unlike her dress from last year, left the majority of her inky marks exposed to the world. She'd been shooting for some sort of forest nymph inspired outfit, a bit different from the more traditional dresses and costumes that were much more reminiscent of Ancient Greece, but she was still fond of her choice. Now she just had to sell the confidence. It would be fine. She had this in the bag. After all, it was only a dance. She could feign confidence for one night.

Illowy wandered about the ball, she tried to find anyone she might know... maybe she should have planned better to have a date, or at least friends to go with. She spotted Henry as he started off towards another part of the dance, then her dueling partner Starlee with her friends... truly everyone seemed to have settled into their groups already; another strike on her part for not thinking ahead.

Pressing her lips in a tight line, the third year kept close to the edge of the dance, making her way towards the refreshments; though she had no plan at the moment to try them. It was already risky business eating or drinking at school functions. But maybe near the table, she'd be able to keep an eye out for anyone else she knew... and keep an eye out for trouble.

"And I was rather enthralled with the maze," Evelynn continued, carrying on with what had no doubt been a long-winded interpretation and opinion.

Although the two of them had chattered before, after, and between the various trials laid out for their championing, she'd set her attention right back upon them as soon as they had concluded. It was as though they were departing from a rather invigorating science fair, or a thought-provoking play. They may have commented here and there, but not in any great depth before they were right into the thick of it with the next. And she rather liked to reflect and debrief.

"I think that may have been my favourite of the lot, in fact," came a string of pensive mewling, lips pursing slightly as her gaze drifted on ahead and she fell into thoughtful silence. One that was broken but a moment later as she glanced briefly to her companion to gauge his reaction. "I think my mother called it 'sensory deprivation'?" she went on, breaking eye contact again to allow her own to wander over the various faces and outfits gracing the Underworld. As they wandered further from the rapturous excitement of the trials and back into the heart of suspense itself, she lowered her voice. Almost reverently so. "It's rather interesting to see just how much more keen all the other senses seemed to become when I could see nothing but the blackness."

That phenomenon hadn't been all that surprising. While it took her somewhat by surprise in the moment; in retrospect, it really should have been expected. What had been something of a curiosity, however, was that it hadn't been her hearing that had gained the greatest acuity. In the heart of the maze, encased presumably on all sides by shrubbery, it was as though a great pressure had forced itself down upon her. The silence had been deafening, and every strain to listen for the first sign of someone—or something—happening upon her had did little but to gradually induce a pressure in her head until she could hear nothing but the beating of her own heart within her ears.

No, rather than sound, it was touch that had seemed most impacted. A glance down would reveal the thumb pad of her hand running itself repeatedly over the pads of each of her fingertips as her mind drifted back. Once again, she could feel the course texture of the vegetation beneath her hand.

"How did you get out?" she wondered, pulling her full attention back to Marshal, suddenly curious. To her, there had been only one option. To keep her hand upon the wall so as not to wander aimlessly with no knowledge as to where she had already gone and from whence she had come. That constant contact had been her anchor, a reassurance that so long as she never pulled back her hand, she would eventually find the exit regardless of any visual deficit. But had the same occurred to everyone else? Or were there perhaps other, more clever, ways to ensure success?

There'd been quite the variety in the trials, but she'd at least managed to be winded exerting herself with the Hermetic race. Her mouth felt tacky, and her palette fancied a drink. Preferably a sweet one. Lemonade if it was available. The thought of that reminded her of the candies stowed carefully away in a pocket. A quick run of her thumb along the strap ensured that her bag hung securely from her shoulder before deftly fishing in a pocket of her dress. A crinkle of wrapper punctuated the otherwise muted atmosphere a second later as she relieved the sherbet lemon of its imprisonment and slipped it between her lips.

"Would you like one?" The offer was accompanied by a candy held out to him should he desire to take it. If not, she'd simply shrug a brow in a sort of 'suit yourself' and slip it back out of sight.

As they meandered, Evelynn veered them towards the refreshment table to make good on her original inclination. With her sudden citrus craving met by the hard candy now meeting its end against her hard palate, however, thoughts of lemonade had faded. And a canvas of the options left her indecisive. She almost leaned over to have a sniff at each of the options and select the most appealing based on aroma. The image of that seemed rather ridiculous, however. Like a deer out to pasture, picking its way through a thicket and muzzling at various roots and barks in order to isolate the best. Although she might be dressed as one, she wasn't timid prey. Straightening her shoulders, she settled her gaze onto the nearest pitcher as the words of her mother—"It's impolite to reach, dear"—echoed through her thoughts.

With careful ease, she poured herself a drink. Had she known of the effects taking root in some of the other attendees, a touch more care might have been given along with a wide berth. However, as she did not, she took a drink to quench her thirst.

There he was, thought the young Gryffindor and prefect, not to forget duelling co-captain. He had been excited to see another social event approach as it had been quite a while since Halloween had passed. He was happy for an opportunity to dress up and have fun again, so he couldn't possibly waste this chance by not going!

Alan had been excited but also nervous for the upcoming blossom ball. The last one after all had ended in a disaster. But he had blamed it on the fact that the students had been unsupervised; after all the Halloween ball had went somewhat decent. The fourth year did not participate in any of the other balls the school had held before, so he didn't know that the chaotic endings in a ball were somewhat of a tradition at this point. Alan had been excited about the theme of the ball, he liked legends and stories and found greek mythology somewhat fascinating; at least the little he knew of it. He knew of the gods and goddesses and some of the ancient greek hero stories. One god had stood out to him more than the other, so he had decided to go with his theme, it would even fit to the spring theme of the blossom ball. He had gone for a outfit inspired by Pan, the god of nature and a satyr. They were half goat, so with a bit of help from his parents, Alan had ordered a handcrafted costume that would disguise his legs as goat legs while also serving as pants. For once he had to leave his comfy sneakers behind so that he could wear the shoes resembling hooves. But at least he was wearing his red shirt, with a leather vest above and some plant accessories to set the mood of the outfit. A pair of backward curled horns sat on his head, held in place by a nearly invisible headband that would blend in with his fashionably tousled hair.

As Alan had entered, he looked around in excitement, taking in the surroundings. He knew that he and Scott had agreed to eventually cross paths and possibly raid the buffet, but for now Alan's attention was drawn to the different options of trials. He truly hoped that none of those would douse him in blood again, alone the memory of the trials of fear made him shudder in disgust before he forced his mind back to the blossom ball. He would have fun here and he wouldn't let anyone rob him of his good time here! With a little jump in his step he would venture forth to find the first trial, he was somewhat determined to get through all of them even if he knew that he could possibly do bad. But he was here for the fun and the idea of a small competition really did sound like it could be fun!

The day of the Blossom Ball had finally arrived. He had been looking foreward to the event, much more so than the last ball. He had a new date this time, a Hogwarts student that he had bonded with over the winter break: Elizabeth Issacs. After their fateful meeting, the two had been continuously sending letters back and forth, talking about anything and everything. But it also tended to consist a lot of Elizabeth's annoying cousin, Emile. He knew Emile had been allowed to come on the trip to Hogwarts, but would he show his face at the ball?

Before meeting up with Elizabeth for what he hoped was a fun evening, he donned on his greek style outfit, with a sheer green cape that not only matched with his date's green dress but, as he felt, also made him stand out like a gem in a pool of coal - The coal being everyone else. Florian would be the center of attention. He smiled at himself in the mirror, happy with how he looked and left to meet up with Elizabeth.

The two ended up arriving late, distracted by roaming around what was a mostly empty castle, most people being at the ball. It had been fun, probably the most fun he had had at Hogwarts thus far. He loved Elizabeth's personality. She was smart, witty, and attractive. All the things he liked about a girl. Or... well... really any girl that gave him attention was one he liked, but this one was different.

They entered the dark room with its strange atmosphere, and he began to survey the crowd. He had been wondering if his previous date to the Autumn Ball, Rosa, would be in attendance. The two had gotten into a bit of a fight and hadn't talked much since. She wasn't the kind of girl to go alone, and it appeared as if she had decided to stay the night in at the Beauxbaton lodging. 'Good...' he thought, 'at least I won't have to worry about any drama.'

Florian's thoughts of Rosa quickly disapparated as he saw the notice for the trials. This was it - a chance to prove himself the best. And not only out of his fellow Beauxbaton's, but out of all the schools that were attending. "Mademoiselle, I believe I shall need to take my leave of you for now - I would like to enter the trials." he stated to Liz, his eyes looking hungrily at the entrance to the trials. "You may accompany me if you would like, I have no doubt you would be nominated Queen if you were to complete them... just as I will be nominated King." He emphasized the word will rather loudly, his confidence beginning to set in. If she decided to join, the pair would enter the trials together. If not, he would bow to her and run off, desperate to prove himself.

Today was not a day that Maximilien was expecting. Well, not in his way of expecting - which meant that it was no way near to “enjoyable” in his dictionary.

It was embarrassing to say, but Maxi was actually quite afraid. His grandfather - or he should say, Monsieur le Comte - had obliged him to go to the Hogwarts ball with his second cousin, Miss Springhall. It wasn’t because that Lindsey (that’s her name) was not in his favor, but for she had always been holding a weird grudge against him since they first met when they were eight. He always liked her - that was perfectly true, and he desperately wished to please her. However, he still remembered that during last October when he stopped her in the Hogwarts hallways, she nearly punched him - nearly. Since then, Maxi had decided that he should leave Linds alone - maybe the grudge would fade slowly if she did not see him that often. But now, huh.

The idea was actually brought up by his father, but carried out by the Comte - to Maxi it was almost the same. Monsieur le Comte or Monsieur le Chevalier, even Madame, were all in the same boat. They were all there, waiting to push him down to the icy cold lake - gah.

He got up late. Maxi knew it, cuz it was done on purpose. If he would be late, then there would be a high chance that Lindsey had ditched him and went to some kinds of trials - and they would perfectly miss each other. Good. Smart kid, Maxi.

As a result, dressing in his clothes same as the ones he wore last year (he refused the dumb Greek outfit his mother provided), Maxi moved to the Hogwarts courtyard, in a speed that even a slug would be surprised. He did not wish to be seen - oh well, what would Viola say if she observed him out of the crowd? Mademoiselle Tempete must be disappointed with him. He didn’t want that to happen, obviously.

Finally he saw his date, standing alone in the crowd. Not a very bad start. At least he wouldn’t have to deal with some English kids he was ignorant of. Maximilien approached her quietly, and signaled his arrival by a low cough. She turned. And - ah, she was dazzling. Even more dazzling than he had expected. And though the meeting was awakard, Maxi had decided that he would act like nothing had happened between them - if he didn’t show awkwardness, than she shouldn’t as well. That was the basic pureblood rules, and he expected her to know.

“Lindsey.” he would greet her fondly, with a charming smile on his lips. “Had been a while. How do you do, Mademoiselle?” he carelessly tapped his right foot, and smiled at her. He could feel that he was charmed by his own charm - oh dear, really, how could his dear Linds still hold that grudge?

“The Englishmen must have put an effort into the preparation.” he mumbled in his mother tongue, satisfied. Picking up a random drink which seemed rather pleasant to drink, he raised it up and showed to Lindsey. “Would you like one as well?” he offered with all sincere, and sipped some out of the glass.
