This was really her only thought as she started to navigate the pitch black maze, using her hands to feel for walls and turns. She had already made the mistake of face-planting against a wall when the questions came. The ingredients of an Ageing Potion? She knew she should've focused in class, dang it. Well, it was a lesson learned. Scarlett didn't care too much about winning, but being unable to answer a simple question about Ageing Potions? A hit to her pride, and rather unacceptable. She racked her brains for the answer. "Newt! Newt...spleen, was it?" She dearly hoped it was. "Er, banana. Orange lizard - no, snake - and...a leaf? A coloured leaf." Scarlett kicked the maze wall in frustration - or, what she assumed was the maze wall. It was in fact, empty air and she misbalanced her kick, almost toppling over in the darkness.
"Red leaf - orange leaf - yellow leaf - green leaf - wait! Green leaf! Right? I'm pretty sure that was it." Hopefully it was. Anyway, the next question came soon afterwards. "Blemish...Blitzer? A bit obvious, isn't it?" Scarlett had never heard of it, but the functionality was in the product name. Great marketing, thought Scarlett in approval. Clear and concise. Helpful to kids navigating dark mazes and answering trivia questions.
"It blitzes blemishes," announced Scarlett, into the empty nothingness. "Or it gets rid of them at least. If you're looking for synonyms, it gets rid of acne and pimples and stuff."
The next question stumped her. "A Bundi-what now? Suzuki, I don't do Care of Magical Creatures and neither do you. Realistic expectations, my ass. I bet this is RIGGED or something for smart kids who read ahead or third-years which is UNFAIR." Scarlett voiced her thoughts out loud to the empty nothingness again. Annoyingly, Suzuki probably couldn't hear her. "But FINE, it's some sort of pest right?" At least that was common knowledge.
"This is RIGGGGEEDDD," sang Scarlett, as she continued on through the maze.────── ☆ ───────

Darkness didn't sound that bad to the Durmstrang. He was a broom racer for a time and dealt quite often with darkness and small spaces and separation from others, so Charles wasn't that concerned as he laughed his way with his friends to the trial of hades.
That was until the blonde saw a strange hogwarts girl running the trial he guessed and heard something about answering three questions. Charles wasn't that smart, he relied on his strength for most things so the questions were a bit nerve wracking for the young lad as he smiled at Cassie's introduction and question to the Hogwarts girl. Charles would look over at Cassie and the strange unknown girl as he spoke"I'm Charles and I have the same question, does one have to answer the questions correctly to move on?"
Charles would return the wave with a half smile to Cassie as he spoke" good luck Cass," the blonde figured he should go next in the group, when or if Drew and Scarlett would arrive he would turned to Drew and spoke" good luck partner," before he would give a half smile and playfully speak" let's hope one of us has a brain to answer the questions."
The blonde then would give Cassie, Drew, and Scarlett a two finger salute before going into the maze.
Darkness erupted around the lad and he would strain his eyes as they adjusted to the light. Charles could barely see his hands, not counting ten feet in from of him so he was seriously doubting himself in that moment but he was also determined to get through the maze.
Charles never really relayed on his wand or a torch before so he wasn't consider about that part, as the boy kept his hands in from of himself to feel things out as he walked through the maze. He didn't have any strategies in mind as he felt his way around with his hands, keeping them forward so he didn't run into any walls or hurt himself but at the same time the blonde kept up a brisk speed. As he was determined to finish the maze.
Charles was starting to get a hang of the maze as he squinted his eyes and waved his hands in front of him whole going through the maze but then the questions came.
"Ingredients in a aging potion," Charles repeated the first question back to himself and he surprisingly knew the answer from studying the potion at Durmstrang, "newt spleen, banana, an orange snake, and a green leaf," the boy wasn't a fan of classes but at the moment he was glad that he took potions at Durmstrang.
The next question was that difficult either and the blonde again knew it, well only because his elder brother uses it for his own acne and maybe Charles used in once or twice a few years back, "Blemish Blitzer is a cream like substance that gets rid of blemishes on your skin, most teenagers use it for acne," Charles would give his charming smile at the end even through he still couldn't see anything.
Two down and one to go, the blonde would hear the last question and his face fell at the words.
"A bundimum," Charles repeated not sure what to say since he never heard of the creature before. The blonde didn't read books usually and he didn't take a magical creature class at Dumstrang, the school didn't even offer one so the boy was struggling.
"What even is a bundimum? I attend Dumstrang, we learn about combat and dark arts not magical creatures. This trial is rigged for Hogwarts students, you want a Hogwarts student to win don't you," Charles started to complain out loud as he strained his brain trying to think. His mind drifted to his friend; Werner trying to imagine his words and bird watching knowledge. Perhaps he said something about a bundimum before? Was it a bird?
"Where are you when I need you Werner, uh is a bundimum a bird?" the blonde asked as he had no idea how he would continue this maze if he didn't answer this question correctly... if he could then he would continue his way through the maze looking for the exit.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades
Mikael stood stalk still as he attempted to look about. This trial was far darker than any of the other trials had been. It was difficult to see his hands despite how pale he was. Barely making out the faint outline where he knew his hands had to be. Mikael raised a brow as he listened to a speaker as questions. This was far more interesting than he would like to admit. Asking questions in the dark from an unknown source? It seemed like these puny Hogwarts students were truly trying to unease the participants in these trials. If he had to guess, he would think they were trying to make people lose focus on doing well in these trials. It was laughable at best and brought a faint smile to his lips. "Nothing more than a child's play." he scoffed harshly. Though, he didn't have much room to complain. He did join willingly. "Question one, newt spleens, an orange snake, a green leaf, and a banana." he spoke clearly as he walked through the maze. "Question two, it is used to treat acne." he said. "Question three, a Bundimun is a multi-eyed creature that is a greenish color. They feed on dirt and if not taken care of can collapse buildings. Their secretions are very acidic and can rot building structures." he answered as he moved forward in the maze.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades

Mentioning | N/A
The First Trial was the Trial of Hades. It was dark over here. He said lightheartedly, "Probably you. I don't think I'll answer any of those questions. Good luck," he would return to Charles, seeing him go in the maze. He listened to the rules, and then decided he would go in it himself. He approached the entrance, then went in. If it had been dark and ominous in the "Underworld" part, it was even more dark and ominous here.
Read: it was pitch black.
Not many things unnerved or frightened Drew. He didn't like that he couldn't see anything, but it didn't scare him. It didn't put him on edge. He kept his calm and his head. That was, after all, the only way that he was going to be able to do this, right?
There wasn't a better way to do this than to walk around like a zombie. Drew was definitely accustomed to light, so he would put his hands in front of him, fingering around a little bit, feeling the side of the maze with one hand and using his other hand as a sort of radar, waving it slowly back and forth. He really hoped that he would be able to get out of here, because it would suck to be stuck in here while everyone else partied, wondering where he went. Drew really tried not to bump into any sides of the maze, but he did fail in that sense a couple of times.
Then the first question came. An Ageing Potion? How the heck was he supposed to know what went into an Ageing Potion? Drew paused for a second, not making progress in the maze while he thought about it. "Um. Well, I guess it has standard ingredient in it?" That was kind of safe to assume. Standard ingredient was in a lot of things, so it couldn't really be a bad guess. It had said ingredients (plural) so he had to provide another answer. More as a joke, he said, "Bananas?" He chuckled a little at his oh-so very wrong answer, more confident in the first than the second. Drew didn't know that he had to do research for Hogwarts' Blossom Ball. He thought he was here to have fun, not have a pop quiz.
Drew moved on, continuing through the maze. Another question came, and this time he furrowed his brow, but continued to walk. He called out. "Blitzes blemishes?" That one was a little more obvious, but maybe he had to give the actual definition and not just a repeat of the name. I mean, it's safe to assume that a Blemish Blitzer blitzes blemishes, right?
And the third question came. "A bundy-what?" he said eloquently, probably causing face-palms from whoever was asking these questions. Who was asking these questions anyway? "Sorry, I don't even have a guess to that one," he said as his official response.
Drew had never been good at things like this, and he wasn't a scholar like some other people. He didn't look ahead in the curriculum, and he didn't read extra books about things. He wasn't dumb, but he wasn't your typical "smart kid." He really doubted that he was beating anybody so far.
He sure hoped Charles was doing better than he was.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades
Michael could see people going into the Maze, or what seemed to be one. He walked down the path to the entrance, and paled at the request for no use of light. The boy didn't like the dark all that much and the itch to use his wand for light was strong. In the back of his mind he wished for creatures to jump out just to use a incendo. He sighed as he walked on.
He didn't know what he expected but no light and questions in a maze was not it.
The questions made him wish he paid more attention to his classes and not just the boys in them. "Umm. . the ageing potion uses. . Newt Speens, a snake - no an orange Snake, bananas and a leaf. Green i think." He said uncertainly. He took a deep breath, "Yeah, the ingredients are Newt Speens, an orange snake, bananas and a green leaf." He repeated, his voice now steady and no longer questioning himself.
The next question was easier for him, given the girls in his family seemed to use alot of this. "It treats Acne." He said, his lip shirking up in a smile as he remembered his mother freaking out when she ran out of the treatment.
The last question was what made him stop, completely clueless. Had he read about this? Most likely as he loved reading on creatures but still it wasn't clicking in his mind. He began to pace in the small space, biting on his lip. He hissed when he tripped over what was seemingly air. "Da- wait!" Michael remembered it! It was in the book he read when he had first met Percival Rainwood. "A Bundimum is a greenish creature with a lot of eyes and a taste for dirt. It smells really bad like dead things" he said, smiling as he finished the last question.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades

Darkness wasn't a problem. Nor the actual navigation of the maze itself. It was the darn questions that made her palms sweat with anxiety as Jayden approached the first checkpoint.
Relax. Confidence bolstered her. Surely these questions wouldn't be THAT difficult, a first year could answer them.
What ingredients does it take to make an Ageing Potion?
o_o'
Shoot.

"What?" Jayden yelped, as if she were offended by the question's audacity to challenge her. "Gah! Why do I need to know books for this?" She grumbled in frustration, balling fistfuls of hair without literally tearing her roots out. Hardly any textbook info stuck inside her head, outside of the classroom. "I dunno!" She sputtered, completely stumped. "Is this an advanced potion? I don't remember learning that in any of my potions classes." (I mean, technically, if it wasn't part of her Trunk yet…) Totally unfair, if this was a potion the older years were supposed to know!
"Hmph." She thought for a moment, analyzing the phrasing of the question.
Looks like she was going to have to get clever by finding some loopholes.
"A cauldron and magic!" She delivered her final answer with conviction.
"You didn't say what ingredients ARE in an Ageing Potion." She'd justify her reasoning. "You said what ingredients does it take to make one. Ingredients are components, and the components to making any potion consists of a cauldron to brew it in and magic to bind it all up. Magic can be wandless, so wands aren't even necessary."
She felt rather proud of that one, as she made her way to the second checkpoint.
Unfortunately these questions weren't getting any easier.
What does a Blemish Blitzer (most likely) do?
"Well I've never heard of one." She huffed irritably. (As proven by her flawless complexion, she never had reason to encounter the stuff.) "How am I supposed to know?"
Well, she had to answer something. Blemish Blitzer… sounded like a product of some kind. "Blemishes. Deformities." She mumbled aloud, trying to pick apart each word and form a meaning between the two. "Blitzer. Sounds very fast." She swung and took a wild guess. "Something that fixes blemishes really fast?"
Lame. What kind of blemishes? She had no idea. Her brain was static. "Okay, I'm done." She chirped politely and scampered off.
What is a Bundimum?
Finally! Something she was vaguely familiar with!
"Fungus!" Jayden blurted. "Green. fungus. thing." She sputtered. Grr, come on words! "Some kind of magical fungus that eats houses. buildings. wood. whatever." She called out to no one in particular, voice rising above the maze: "Am I supposed to be describing exactly what this thing looks like?"
Ugh. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Jayden knocked herself mentally in the head as she stumbled out of the maze. Burning shame dissipated into the cool air of night. The past was behind her, and she was eager to redeem herself, moving onward to the next trial.
"Hey, I answered successfully!" She would protest if the Guardians of the Maze were not satisfied. It was all friendly banter of course. Jayden wasn't a sore loser. But by all means, she believed in herself to have done a stinkin' good job back there. Especially with pointing out loopholes. "You never said to answer the questions correctly!" Her eyes glinted above a smug smirk, waving a mock fist of defiance in the air.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades
And here Tory was. In this courytard, attempting the Trial of Hades. Did she feel bad she had just sort of ditched Aldor, his friend Henry, and random girl who showed up next to Henry? Yes. Were there goosebumps covering her arms out of pure fear? Also, yes. Embrassingly, she would admit the completely dark maze was pretty chilling to her. Probably not to Suzuki, though. It was surprising when Tory had heard her voice, but truthfully, nice to hear a familiar voice.
"Wow, ok, this is great. Real good idea to set the Blossom-y mood, Suzuki." The lion said sarcastically. She took a breath, uselessly feeling the air with her hands. The ingredients of an ageing potion? The first question wasn't the hardest to Tory. She loved potions class, and usually hung on to each and every single word the professor said. Plus, she read about it often after school, so she had this one in the bag. Or so she hoped. "A banana, an orange...snake, newt spleens, and um.." This was the hands-down worst time to forget one simple potion ingredient. She pressed her eyes shut and concentrated. "Oh yeah, right! A green leaf." Phew, thank godric's toes she remembered that.
She walked for a minute or two. The second question: What does a Blemish Blitzer (most likely) do? The first year racked her brain. If her memory was split into files, she would have been frantically searching through each one. Well, I know a blemish is like a pimple, right? So a blitzer just means... A light flipped on her head. "The Blemish Blitzer most likely gets rid of pimples and acne." She answered promptly, navigating poorly through the dark yet again. "Ha, you really thought you could confuse me there, didn't you." Her friend probably couldn't hear her, but oh well, talking took the fear away. And without fear, Tory was about 90% she could pass through the trial.
It actually turns out these questions could confuse the girl, because she was absolutely stumped on the third one. She had no idea in the entire universe what the hell a Bundimum was. Maybe...a plant? Or....an animal? Maybe a breed of flower. It sounded like a flower. But then again, she didn't want to get it wrong, she was competitive, and ambitous, and she refused to lose anything. She also refused to think about Bundimums anymore. Her brain hurt from trying to figure out what a it was. "A...flower...of...sorts?" She answered, though rather unconfidently, she was almost positive it was incorrect. Oh well, at least she had gotten two right (she hoped).
Tory Williamson stumbled on through the maze, mentally patted herself on the back, and said quietly to herself "good job, Tory", because nobody else was.

The first trial was sort of spooky. And by sort of spooky, Iris was pretty sure it was one of the most terrifying things she’d ever experienced. Total darkness, like dark dark, like she wondered for a moment if she had spontaneously gone blind. There was a soul chilling fear in the air that set Iris on edge. There was also something slightly odd about not being able to see a thing but being able to hear your feet shuffle on the ground perfectly well. Iris rubbed her arms against one another, bracing herself for a jump scare. She’d been to enough muggle haunted houses to know that there was bound to be one or multiple in the coming trail, whatever it was they were supposed to do anyway. Somehow, despite the total dark, there were red glowing eyes around what Iris hoped was the outside of the area. The last thing she wanted was to pass whatever belonged to those things.
There was a voice in the dark, explaining what it was they were supposed to do. A trial of Spades? Hades? Whatever that was. They weren’t allowed to use any light to guide their way through and there would be questions along the way. The whole thing was supposed to be a test of wits. More like a test of how long does it take before you loose your head.
The first question Iris was bombarded with was what ingredients it took to make an Ageing Potion. What was this? A school quiz? Who cared about Ageing Potions anyway? The good thing was that her grandmother absolutely despised that potion and had made sure Iris knew what was in it so she knew to avoid it at all cost. Apparently her grandmother had a bad experience with it at some point or something.
“The Ageing Potion is made with bananas, I know that for sure,” Iris bit her lip thinking, she only knew that one for certain. And like, reptile stuff too right, like old skin looks sort of scaley, “And newt spleens and a snake,” Iris hurried on, “An orange snake to be exact,” Again at a loss when she remembered the color, “And a green leaf, right?” That had to be right.
Iris kept one hand on a wall at all times. It was a trick with mazes. It might take her a lot longer to complete the maze, but she was certain to make it to the end one way or another. While she walked, she tapped one finger against the wall, the soft noise keeping her from being so on edge.
The next question took Iris by surprise and she jumped a little at the sudden noise. “Uh, probably gets rid of blemishes? Acne and color spots and stuff,” Hopefully that would be a good enough answer. Iris continued on hoping she was getting the points they were supposed to get for this freaky maze thing.
Iris continued on, fear continuing to grow within her, growing more on edge. Her light tapping against the wall grew less and less useful. At the last question, Iris nearly jumped out of her skin. She just wanted out of this wretched maze already. Thankfully she knew what Bundimun’s were her mother had found one inside her greenhouse after it collapsed, apparently it ate through the whole thing, it’s horrible scent hidden by the scent of the compost in the greenhouse, “Bundimuns are these annoying green fungus things that get into buildings and rot through the walls and foundation so they collapse. They have yellow eyes and I think they’re classified as Beast XXX,” Iris was really confidant in this answer, "Oh and they stink really bad, like compost,”

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades
As a child, Dee had never been afraid of the dark. Quite the opposite, darkness had been associated with starry skies and campfires in summer. Her more recent experiences hadn't been nearly as positive, and it gave her a slight pause at the entrance of the maze, staring into the darkness without moving for just a second. At least the darkness didn't seem to be moving, either, and finally, Dee just stepped forward, from relative darkness into complete obscurity, her face uncharacteristically grave as the dark swallowed her.
She let her fingers trail over the the wall in an attempt to keep from losing orientation completely, her other hand stretched forward, steps slow and careful. This wasn't a race - or at least, there had been no mention of bonus points for speed.
The first question she encountered triggered a smile. Potions, if there was anything she was confident about, it was this. Ageing potions weren't the most common thing, but her mother had brewed a batch or two a year. "An orange snake. Bananas. Newt Spleens, and a green leaf."
More steps through the darkness. Was she progressing quickly? It was hard to tell. She tried closing her eyes for a few steps, an attempt to rely more on her other senses, although it didn't make a difference in the complete darkness surrounding her. Opened them again right away, unease creeping in her stomach, as if closing her eyes made her more vulnerable somehow.
The second question triggered a snort rather than a smile. Who'd come up with that one? What was this, a random trivia test? Thankfully, it wasn't an extremely obscure item, the name telling enough, and still a potion. Kind of. "It's an acne treatment," she replied, short and to the point. Although somehow most teens at this school seemed to have perfect skin.
Further on. Time seemed to be dragging on, even with her heart beating fast in her chest. Was there something moving at the edges of her vision? There couldn't be, the lack of sight perfect, except if the darkness itself was moving. She shoved the memory of spiders emerging from the absence of light away, but her steps sped up automatically. She was eager to get out of here.
And again, her mother's occupation helped her with the last question. She would have been stuck on this one otherwise, magical creatures really weren't her forte, but Bundimuns produced ingredients for some potions. Not very pleasant ones, honestly. "It's a beast, although not a very dangerous one. Kind of looks like a fungus with too many eyes, and has to be handled with care, because it oozes some sort of acidic... stuff which is useful for some potions. Can rot buildings if you're not careful. Are we done with the Potions Trivia Quiz now?"
It would be a lie to say she didn't breathe easier when stepping back into the light.

Blossom Ball- Trial of Hades
INTERACTING: Trial host | OUTFIT
Alan didn't particularly mind darkness but he liked being able to see where exactly he was going. But here the surroundings were pitch black and there was no way of knowing where he was even going. He tried to navigate by always keeping one of his fingers trailing along the wall and never letting it go, so that eventually he might be able to find the path. It also helped him with not running into a wall. But sometimes he would trip over something or feel his feet hit and kick something away by accident as it made a rattling noise. Based on the trial's theme he would assume it to be the rattling bones of prop skeletons or at least he had hoped those would be props. There was no way of truly knowing for him, as after all there was no trusting trials such as this.
He wasn't sure how long it had taken him to walk through the maze but he had a somewhat good feeling. Time management was quite hard, when you had nothing to navigate the time with and in such darkness the sense of time got blurred. But eventually he would get to the part where he had to answer three questions, which he hoped would be easy for him, only to realize that they weren't. Of course they had to be about potions. An ageing potions ingredients? How was he supposed to know that? As he tried to jog his memory, only two of the ingredients would come to mind and only because of how absurd they were. "Uhhhh.... wasn't it bananas and something from a salamander? Wait, a new, the eyes wasn't it? Or perhaps the claws?" Alan tried his best but to no avail. Was there even such a potion ingredient as the claws of a newt? Alan sighed as he listened to the second questions and gave a frustrated huff when it was once again potions related. "Uhm.... uhhh I know that its commonly used, at least I've heard of it before outside the potions classroom? Skin care perhaps? But I don't know for what? Blemish blitzer huh... A bit like make up perhaps?" Alan could have cursed, but he bit his lip as he waited for the next question only to sigh in relief. Finally a decent question! "They are a nasty pest, green and with dozens of little eyes and they can be quite dangerous if left unchecked as they feed on dust and constructs, causing them to collapse! Well that's mostly because of their ooze but I'm sure you wouldn't wanna have them in your house, especially because they just stink, I heard of them," he blubbered, excited to finally give a satisfying response.
