Aaron was determined for the Secret Blossom Ball to be a success. He and his friends had spent many hours discussing the pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses, locations and times, and the whys and hows. It had been a tiring couple of days, but it felt like they had finally worked everything out. The next thing to do? Spread the word.

Thus, Aaron was now on the hunt for a certain Gryffindor prefect with whom he had become well-acquainted. Their makeshift ball planning committee lacked any Gryffindor representatives, so it was imperative that they get someone to spread the word in that house. Lydia was going to reach out to Rafael (Aaron gagged at the thought), but Aaron didn't trust the obnoxious Chaser to do the job properly. Griseldis Edelhardt was a much better representative of Gryffindor house.

It's not like he and Gris had the closest relationship, but Aaron couldn't help feeling that she was the right person for this task. After all, she was the head of the Martial Artists club, and that's another reason they needed her. After Pericles brought up all the dangerous possibilities, they needed people who could handle their own. And maybe she could help convince the other members of the club (which he was a part of) to help as well!

With the Easter holidays, the castle was a lot less organized. A lot of students had decided to stay here, and since there was no set schedule aside from mealtimes, it made finding someone a lot more difficult than usual. It helped that Gris was well-known, though, because several people he passed had useful information on her whereabouts. It only took a couple of floors and a few brief chats to narrow down her location.

As he entered the abnormally-deserted courtyard, Aaron immediately spotted the brunette he was looking for. "Gris!" he called out, a bright smile on his face as he waved. He jogged over to her so he could greet her properly. "Hi, Gris," he repeated, feeling a bit excited at what he was about to do. "I've been looking for you everywhere. Got a minute to talk?" the twelve-year-old asked, practically bouncing on the heels of his feet. It was fortunate he had caught her at a time when she was alone, and he wouldn't have to make an excuse to get her away from someone.

When Griseldis finally decided to create a Martial Artis club, she really didn't expect to see there were really a few students who were specialized in different branches of Martial Arts. But the lioness didn't want the club to be only limited to Martial Artists, she also allowed students who simply were interested to learn about the martial arts. So far there were already about ten students who applied to join the Martial Artist club, there were new faces but there were also a few she knew. Perhaps, it would be a golden opportunity to become friends with them and become sparring partners in martial arts.

Normally small holidays like Easter, for example, Griseldis would rather stay in Hogwarts instead of going back to her hometown, Bridgwater. Her parents didn't mind and thought their daughter could use the free time she had for studying in peace. This was true, and the best part was, she didn't need to patrol during the holidays and they were allowed to take a vacation. No matter how diligent a person she was, being a Prefect was still a very tough job. However, she never regretted being who she was and now she had another new responsibility on her shoulder. Being the head of the Martial Artist club means more planning to do to keep the club active and interesting for the members.

The lioness decided to take her time to plan on a schedule for her club members, first, she wanted to use the Library but was shocked to see there were so many Ravenclaw students in there reading and studying, and it seemed that all seats had been taken. She later visited her usual spot at the Great lake but saw a group of her own Housemates having a swimming party there, so the only place she could peacefully work on her schedule was the courtyard. When Griseldis arrived there, she was relieved to see there were only a few students minding their own businesses. Two Slytherin seniors were having a rivalry battle with wizarding chess. Three Hufflepuff girls gossiping together in whispering voices at the fountain. Griseldis saw there was an empty stone bench so she happily went to have a seat and began to write down plans for her club.

But suddenly, a boyish voice called her name which immediately brought her attention. She looked up and saw it was an Asian Hufflepuff boy waving at her with a bright smile on his face.
"Hi, Gris, I've been looking for you everywhere. Got a minute to talk?"
Griseldis didn't expect that one of her club members would come to find her here, so she got curious and wanted to know why he wanted to talk to her. She greeted him back with a polite smile, "Hello Aaron, I really didn't expect you to find me here. And sure, I have time. You can sit beside me if you like.", She closed up her notebook that was on her lap and placed the quill pen on top of the hardcover.

At Griseldis's invitation, Aaron nodded and sat down beside her. The excitement from just a few moments ago had faded into nerves. He cast a look around the courtyard again, feeling paranoid about being overheard. The other groups of children were quite occupied, though, and he turned back to the older girl.

"So, um, I know we don't know each other super well, but I get really good vibes from you," he started, offering a small smile. "That said, I was hoping you could help me - well, a group of us really - with keeping a secret? Um, you know how the Blossom Ball was cancelled earlier this month?"

The weight of this task was starting to hit him. Griseldis, although an amazing Gryffindor representative, was also a Prefect and he was risking a lot by coming to her with this. This could very well be the end of the whole secret ball idea. She could easily reject it and shut down the whole thing by telling a Professor. But for some reason, Aaron really wanted to trust her with this. It's not like all Prefects followed the rules to a T anyway.

"There's a group of us - some of my fellow first years - who've decided to plan a secret ball," he finally whispered, feeling relief now that the words were out. He quickly continued talking, wanting Gris to know this wasn't just an idea. It was a real thing that they had planned and were prepared for. "We already have another Prefect on board, and we're going to be extra careful to make sure nothing goes wrong! We have a day and a place and a theme and everything! We really think us students deserve a Blossom Ball, especially with all the stress of homework and stuff, y'know? And, I dunno if you heard what happened to the Hufflepuff common room, but we especially could use some fun. And the Slytherins too! Apparently some spiders attacked them a while back, and-"

Aaron realized he was getting extremely off topic. His voice had picked up speed and volume, and he quickly shut down as he glanced around the courtyard again. Of course, it's not like he'd been shouting or anything, so no one was paying them any attention. Nervously, he turned back to the Gryffindor Prefect and offered a crooked (nervous) smile.

"We could really use your help, and- well, of course, if you turn us in there's not much we can do, but the help of another Prefect would be amazing to keep us all safe and, not to mention you started the Martial Artist Club, and, well-" the twelve-year-old let out a nervous breath. He'd been talking a mile a minute for a while now, and he needed to get to the point already. "Point is, if this has your stamp of approval, our ball is way more likely to be a success... what do you think?"

Griseldis watched as Aaron nodded at her and sat next to her on the stone bench, then she noticed how the Hufflepuff boy's smile slightly changed from cheerful to a nervous one and even looked around as if he was afraid that anyone might hear them. Huh? Is he trying to tell me a secret? The Gryffindor Prefect thought to herself and was a bit confused as to why he was acting like that. Ever since she became a Prefect, there were often a few first years would come to find her just to ask her a few questions or when they needed some help with something, or just needed someone with authority to listen to their concerns. At first, it was a bit overwhelming but it took time for her to adapt, and she was always willing to be helpful to those who were in need.

She could only wait patiently until the young Hufflepuff turned to look at her, telling her that even though they were still acquaintance but already have good vibes from her. But what he asked next was very unexpected.
"That said, I was hoping you could help me - well, a group of us really - with keeping a secret? Um, you know how the Blossom Ball was canceled earlier this month?"
"Huh? A secret?", the lioness crooked her head a little bit to the side, looking at him curiously. "I can keep a secret if that's what you're worried about but it depends on the content. And yes, I do know that the Blossom Ball was canceled.", last year, she didn't have the time or interest to join that Blossom Ball but she did hear a lot of bad rumors about what happened. It was quite similar to the Masquerade Ball, it ended in a disaster that involved a lot of students getting hurt. And to her surprise, Aaron finally revealed to her that he and a few other first years students had been planning on creating their own Ball in secret without letting the adult Professors know about this. She could see how the young Hufflepuff boy tried his best to convince her, letting her know that they wanted the Ball to go well for everyone. She heard gossips from other students about what happened to the Slytherins in their Common Room, however, she didn't know that they were attacked by spiders. How did Creatures get into Hogwarts in the first place? As for the Hufflepuff Common Room, she hadn't had any friends from that House yet so she had no clue what really happened there.

Somehow, Griseldis kinda understood their intention for risking getting caught by planning a Secret Ball. But at the same time, she also understood why the Professors had to cancel the Blossom Ball was for the sake of not repeating another chaos happening. Now it came to a decision. Should she risk it or not? Then Aaron mentioned to her about the Martial Artist club really got her attention. Wait, the real reason why both the Blossom Ball and the Masquerade Ball were in chaos was that they lack securities to look out for any potential danger. And since there were Prefects helping out as well so why not?

It did take a while for Griseldis to think through this carefully, but perhaps this could be a good chance for the club members to use their skills to protect the students from any harmful incidents that might happen at the Ball. The lioness finished her train of thought and looked back at Aaron with a confident grin, "Well, we can only pray to Merlin that this Ball you guys secretly planned will be a different one...sure! I can spread the words to my Housemates. After that, I will gather our club members and ask if they are willing to be the protectors of the Secret Ball, and of course, you're included." She said and gave him a thumbs up.

It seemed like the Gryffindor prefect was considering his proposition very carefully, which was nothing less than Aaron expected. Of course she had to weigh her options! She could very well shut down the idea right there and then, but the fact that she was thinking about it was a good sign in his eyes. He watched her expression carefully, but Griseldis was hard to read. Until, of course, she finally began to speak again.

Aaron's eyes couldn't have lit up more than they did in that moment. "Wow, thanks, Gris!" he said, glancing at her thumbs up and resisting the urge to just hug her (Willow and Lydia - with their hugging ways - were starting to rub off on him). Instead, he just returned the thumbs up with a silly grin. "This is a huge relief! Pericles - he's our other Prefect on board - has been super cautious about the whole thing, and having the Martial Artist Club as security will definitely help reassure him! Well- I hope it does, at least!" Aaron leapt to his feet, too excited to stay seated. "It's going to be great! We have a theme and decorations and everything already sorted," he explained to her, glancing around once more to make sure no one was listening in. His paranoia was unfounded, though, because the others in the courtyard were in their own worlds.

"April twenty-fifth," Aaron said, turning back to the upperclassmen. "It's a Saturday. We're gonna be setting up at the Quidditch Pitch during dinner and expect people to arrive after the meal," he further explained, wanting to make sure she had all the details. What was left? Oh, right- "And since we're starting before curfew, we were hoping people would travel down in their normal clothes so they won't draw attention, and they can change at the pitch using the changing rooms." That seemed like everything, and he nodded subtly to himself as he thought this.

"I've gotta get back to some of the other organizers, but really, Gris- thanks so much! You let me know if there's ever anything I can help you with!" he said, a broad smile on his face as he finally waved and turned around. He practically ran out of the courtyard in his excitement to deliver the news to the others. Another Prefect would greatly help their cause!

Not knowing what the future would hold, as an optimist, Griseldis agreed to Aaron's plan. The Asian Hufflepuff boy beamed immediately with a big grin on his face. He gave her a thumbs up and she noticed how he was about to hug her but for some reason stopped himself. Aaron was very excited, well, too excited that she watched how he leaped from his seat, no longer could he sit still. Then told her how everything would be great to have Martial Artist club members being there as securities and how he and his friends already prepared everything for this secret ball. Aaron still looked around to make sure if anyone were listening to their conversation but it seemed the few other students in the courtyard were still minding their own business.

So the secret ball would be held at the Quidditch Pitch on the 25th April, and that day was a Saturday too. They really thought this through huh?, Griseldis thought to herself. Even though Aaron was acting very confident that their secret ball would be wicked and safer, he still couldn't really shake off the nervousness in the pit of her stomach. However, she put on a forceful smile, trying to push away this feeling. Perhaps the experience she had from the Masquerade ball last year did affect her a little so she became slightly doubtful whenever people mentioned joining a ball in Hogwarts. After Aaron explained how she should arrive at the secret, she gave him a nod, "Understood, thanks for telling me this, hopefully, this secret ball you guys are working on will be different than the blossom balls."

Griseldis watched as the overjoyed Hufflepuff waved good-bye at her before leaving the courtyard, she sat there for a brief moment of silence. Thinking if this secret ball could be a good opportunity for her and her Ravenclaw close friend to finally have their dance? Holding on to this tiny hope in her heart, she felt the need to have a bit snacks so she gathered her stuff and decided to go visit the Great Hall and see if there were anything delicious desserts to enjoy.
Griseldis left the thread.
