Dear Mom, Dad, Stacy, Kyle, Aunt Cynthia, Uncle Thomas, Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Baylor,
I made it! I'm here at Hogwarts! Sorry I'm writing this a day late. The train ride was really long. I arrived at the castle last night and I was really tired after dinner. Good news is that I'm not sick anymore. I found Emma at dinner and the two of us went to the nurses office. The nurse gave me a potion that made my cold go away, so now I'm all better. Class starts tomorrow, so I have the whole day to write this and explore the castle. I had breakfast this morning. Waffles, muffins, eggs, toast, strawberries, orange juice. I had roast chicken, potatoes, vegetables, and chocolate cake for dinner yesterday. I'll try not to get fat. The food here is SO good!
I was sorted into a house called Slytherin. It's the green one with the snakes. I hope I don't turn out evil. haha. The Slytherin room is in the dungeons at the bottom of the castle. It's a very nice room, like a hotel. The room is under a lake beside the castle. It's like being inside an aquarium. Instead of birds outside my window, I see fish.
I sleep in the Dormitory of Merlin. Merlin the wizard from King Arthur. They say Merlin's real, here. and that he was a Slytherin. There are even ghosts here, too! Flying, talking ghosts. It's cool, but very weird.
I think I'm making some friends here. There is a boy named Dan that sleeps in my dorm. He's from Ireland and both of his parents are wizards. He doesn't like wearing shoes. I think that's funny. Dan is really nice and I think we'll be good friends. He and Emma will help me get used to school.
I'll try to send pictures if I can. Maybe I can make a photo album and bring it back with me when I come back for Christmas! I don't know how much I will be able to write when class starts tomorrow, but I will try to write as often as I can. I miss everyone SO much and I like the school so far.

P.S. Here are some licorice wands I bought on the train. They taste good to me. I will try to send more candy if I can. I'll try to find something more exotic next time.
P.P.S. Writing with quills is SO hard! I miss normal pens.
