Not Just Letters Closed

It was a bit difficult indeed but Dakota had managed to make his way over the owl droppings, his breath heavy as he finally made his way to the top of the Owlery. So far, no letter-

Boom!

Dakota found himself stumbling backwards as he got hit hard by a large owl speckled with multiple shades of brown, its large, pumpkin eyes seeming to burn into Dakota's soul. Well, they would've if he hadn't been hit so rough at full speed, a pile of letters getting dumped on him. He groaned out and fell back onto the ground, nearly getting splinters in his hand as he skidded backwards.  He had also been carrying plastic water bottles, one of them exploding from the harsh impact. "What?..." Dakota muttered out, his eyebrows furrowed as the clumsy owl flapped its large wings, moving away from the Gryffindor. Dakota rose an eyebrow lightly at it before picking up one of the letters, staring at the contents of the envelope briefly. Nope, not his.

Well, it was a bit early after all...He already knew that his brothers had been given plenty of letters, especially from father. Hopefully one of his friends from the muggle school that he used to attend would write him. Standing up, then walked forward slowly, the Gryffindor focusing on getting to his destination. Finally, he was there. The birdbath. The water inside it was mucky and most of it had dried up due to evaporation, some bird feathers noticeable in it as well. He thought for a moment before smiling to himself, and opening up one of the two water bottles, beginning to pour it into the birdbath. Sure, some may say that this was a waste of water but he really loved animals-he truly did.
