Thirteen Going on Fourteen

On February 17th, Meenauh Silmataurea would wake up to find a small gift, with a letter attached, sitting on the trunk at the end of her bed. That was assuming she had indeed gone to bed the night before, and was there to wake up and find it in the morning- regardless of whether or not she did, a gift would still be found at the foot of her bed. If inspected, she would find a tag on the box that said: Open Me First! In handwriting that the young Gryffindor would recognize. And if she opened the box, she would find two small objects bound in a deep red fabric, and wrapped with a bit of gold twine. One of the objects was a Solar System Watch. Despite its name, and lack of hands, it seemed to tick like any other watch.
The other object, was a small glass pendant attached to a sturdy cord. Inside the pendant sat a galaxy of bubbles, and imperfections that resembled stars. The middle cradled a pale bead, that was representative of the planet Venus. The giver hoped the gifts would please. Meenauh deserved much more than just a old watch and a glass orb, but that was the best the giver could do at the given time. That was it of the gifts. Almost. There was one last gift- the note. If it could be considered one. The note read:
Meena,
I apologize ahead of time. I've never been good at these sorts of things. I hope you don't mind me not coming to you directly with this. I wanted it to be a supri surprise. I'm sorry I couldn't plan a grand party for your birthday, so I hope these gifts will suffice. I made the watch using an old one I found a long time ago. I repaired it, and removed its face. The planets are beads. They should move. I was unfortunately unable to rework the insides so that it ticks to the rhythm of our universe. So, it moves like a regular watch. Hourly. There should also be a necklace in the box. I found it at that muggle shop in Hogsmeade. They had an assortment of them, so I bought two. I have the other. It vaguely resembles Earth and her moon. The one you have is supposed to look like Venus.
I thought it was fitting- Venus and Earth being sister planets and all. Sisters. Like you and I. Since you are turning fourteen, I wanted to end this letter with fourteen things I admire about you.
1.) You're pretty.
2.) You're really smart. Like ridiculously smart.
3.) You're funny.
4.) You listen.
5.) You're always there.
6.) I realize there are too many things, so I must stop at six. You always know what to say.
7.) Okay, I lied. One more. You saved me when I couldn't save myself.
No amount of numbers or words could effectively express how much you mean to me. I hope your birthday is smashing.
Your friend and sister,

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....
