When will we meet again?
Gabriella rushed up to the Owlery, note clutched tightly in her hand. Better just read it again, to see if I need to make any last-minute changes...
To Elliot,
It was really nice meeting you in the library yesterday! I think we can be good friends in the future if we carry on meeting, but we're not in the same house so it might be hard...
We need to think of a place and a time to meet! We could meet in the library again if you want, or by the lake... it really depends on what you want to do!
Best wishes,
Your new friend Gabby
PS. I found some new ink. I forgot I bought extra!
Yes, that seems good enough, she thought to herself. Short and sweet, straight to the point. Clumsily, she tied the note to the foot of a large tawny owl she found resting by the window. "Go on!" she cried. "Take this to Elliot!"

When will we meet again?
Elliot was sitting on her bed in her dormitory when she heard a pecking of a beak against the window. She turned and there was an large tawny owl with a letter messily tied around its leg.
"Oh that must be from Gabby!"
she jumped from her bed and quickly grabbed some treats from her trunk and rushed to open the window. the owl perched itself on the windowsill while elliot untied the knot. Once she finished prying the letter away from the owl she gave it some treats and pet it behind its wing while she read the letter.
once she finished she was smiling.
"wait here little owl, i need to write a response."
she grabbed a quill and some parchment and started writing
"
she crossed it out
no... too formal
She read it over once more. Eh, good enough. she tied it to the owls leg at it flew off.

When will we meet again?
Gabriella grinned as she saw the tawny owl scratching at her dormitory window. She rushed to the window and took the letter she found tied to the owl's leg. "No - don't go away-" It was too late. The owl had already flown off, away from her dorm. She'd have to go to the Owlery again, but that was no problem. It would help her get used to the castle, anyway. Gabriella picked up a quill and began to write a reply.
Elliot,
Cool, glad you still want to meet up!!! If you want we can meet tomorrow lunch by the lake? You can bring homework if you want to work on it together I guess
Gabby
She read it through, before running up to the owlery. She caught sight of the tawny again, and locked eyes with it. For a moment, they entered some kind of awkward cross-species staring contest, before the tawny flew to her shoulder and she tied the letter to its foot. "Go on," muttered Gabriella. "Take this to Elliot."

Elliot heard pecking at the window again and once again grabbed some treats and let the owl in, petting it lightly while she read the letter.
She quicklt started writing her reply.
She fed the owl some treats before tying the letter to its leg.
"sorry for all these letters little birdie."
She pets its head before watching it fly off.
aaaand now i wait for tommorow... she started impatiently drumming her fingers on the windowsill before sitting down on her bed to continue her book to try and calm her excitement.
