Peace is a relative term, wouldn't you agree? Preparations for the Gala have greatly demanded my attention, so perhaps peaceful isn't the right word for my break thus far. Send your family my best, by the way.

Thank you ever so much for your gifts. They are both quite lovely. I considered sending you your gift, but decided against it, since we're seeing one another in a week anyway, and I'd much rather give it to you myself.

Without bragging on myself too much, I must agree with your assessment. This gala at the very least will uphold the standard set by past Beckett Galas, which is an achievement in and of itself. I hope you and your family have an absolutely lovely holiday!

Let's be perfectly honest here, peace is more concerning than chaos when it comes to life. The calm before the storm if you will. I've found peace is often followed by quite the opposite, so if a manageable level of chaos is what I am to deal with, I shall.

Without spoiling too much, I think you'll be quite awed with the gala. The preparations I have made thus far make the yacht I bought myself for Christmas look plain. Don't you worry your pretty little head, your present is marginally less extravagant than a yacht.

Please do not tell me you actually bought a yacht, actually do not answer that. I do have to agree with the first point you made though, after Hogwarts, I do not believe I could exist in full serenity, how boring.

Now, going back to the yacht and gala, I will not even touch the part about my gift but, Anastasia dearest, I better get to see this yacht of yours soon. Or, maybe it is just the Beckett ballroom, either way I do trust your assurance that I will be awed.

Speaking of ballrooms, I did the cutest thing with Percy yesterday. Grandmother helped me set up the small ballroom to imitate the Hogwarts ballroom during the masked ball, it was lovely but our work did not even rival Flash's, send him my love by the way. Good lord, these 2 weeks feel much longer when I am used to spending every day with the 'gang'. Must be going now, those muggle business partners of my father, they decided to come to visit and take Lydia and me to there estate in London for the last bit of the holidays, sadly that means I will be showing up to your gala in one of those metal death machines.

I most certainly did buy myself a yacht for Christmas, what of it? I likely won't be able to sail until spring, since I'm otherwise occupied at the moment and in any event, the weather is less than ideal. I may just have to start a new Beckett tradition to show it off over the summer.

I shan't give you your gift if it worries you that much then. Pity, I think you'd quite enjoy it.

That sounds most lovely. These past few days had sped by, mostly because I would rather wish them not to. As fabulous of a job as I've done planning the gala from Hogwarts, another day or two to make sure the caterers aren't completely and utterly incompetent as I now believe them to be would be greatly appreciated. The ice sculptors I've hired seem slightly more able to do their job, although the jury's still out on that.

God, why on earth would your parents allow that? Not that I have an issue with them being Muggles, but who in their right mind would want to spend their holidays with business partners and their children? Also, if they are escorting you and your family, do make it clear that this is an invitation-only event and as I haven't the faintest idea who they are, I will have security escort them out if they attempt to interlope.

I likely won't have time to write again before the gala, so I wish you well until we next speak.
