Hello. It was nice to hear from you. I wish we could have met before you and Neil became my guardians.

The dresses were more than I could ever have asked for. You really shouldn't have. I am not a big dress person, but I really liked the plaid skirt, and a dorm mate let me borrow her long sleeved black shirt, and I have black tights and combat boots, so I am going to do that. I would send a picture if I could.

Anyway, I suppose you probably want to hear about me. I am a third year Gryffindor, although, don't get the impression that I am brave. I suppose I'm a lot like my dad, sort of quiet but really loyal. Liam said you knew our parents, so I guess I'm a lot like them.

You have a house owl? Does that mean that you are magical, I mean, are you witches or wizards? I suppose this would be less uncomfortable to ask in person. I hope I am not asking too much or offending you in any way.

You wrote back so fast! Your writing is even better than your fathers. It reminds me so much of him.

I suppose I really owe you more information about us. Neil and I were just so happy to be able to give you a home that we leapt at the opportunity to take you in. I am a Squib and Neil is a Wizard, although neither of us use magic nowadays. We have an owl Fluffles, and an outdoor cat named Macavity. We live in a big house a little while from the city with lots of land and a river that runs through our land. It is a beautiful area to be in and I'm sure you'll love it.

Your outfit sounds lovely. I wish I was there to see it. Speaking of seeing you, our house is open for you to come for winter break. But I don't want to push you in to doing anything you don't want to do.

I can't wait to meet you. You sound so similar to your parents. You are in Gryffindor? Neil was Hufflepuff, he had a few friends who were Gryffindors. Do you have a lot of friends? Any special friends?

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Fluffles was gone yesterday and I didn't think to use a school owl.

Your house sounds amazing, much larger yard than what we used to have. And your cat, Macavity, isn't that the name of the troublemaker cat from the play Cats? I love one of the songs from the movie rendition of that. Beautiful Ghosts, I learned it on the piano too. That's something I miss about home, music. Here, there's no ipods or records or radio, it doesn't work. I miss that so much. Wow, I'm rambling, but I don't really want to restart this letter for the millionth time…

I would like to come to your house for Christmas.

I may be reading too much in to your last letter, but are you doing alright? You seemed a bit… scattered. But considering I don't know you too well, I don't want to cross any lines.

It seems that you love music, just like your parents. I'm sure you will be pleased to know that we have a music room in our house. It has a piano, drums that Liam was always banging around on and a few other instruments. The piano used to be your fathers, it still has his notes in the piano chair. Although, I'm sure that would be of no interest to you.

Is there anything else you need? Clothes? School supplies? We would love to send you something.

It has been a few days since my last letter. I miss reading your writing. I await your letter. Perhaps I stepped a line speaking of your father again. I apologize profusely if so. It is the least I want to do to push you away.

Liam wrote to us and said that your birthday was this summer. Did you do anything special? Well, even if you didn't, I sent along with this owl a small parcel, it is a leather journal that Neil made. He has quite the handy fingers when it comes to crafting projects. He even engraved your name across the middle with his cursive, such a delicate script for an old man.

Anyway, Fluffles is getting impatient again, so I will send this letter off. Do reply soon.

Emma said I should write to you. I'm not a good writer like her, but I'll make it work.

So how's school? I don't really know what to say. She said that you were doing okay, so I guess that's good. Liam said you were an all O student.

So, you got the package, right? The journal. I thought of you the whole time I made it. I do a lot of craft things I guess. Ever since I hurt my ankle, can't walk around much anymore. I'm helping Emma set up your room. Made a desk and chair for in there, cut all the wood and sanded it and everything. Your bedframe too. Gives me something to do. Maybe when we come for Christmas we can paint it together, if you want I mean.

Yes, I was just worked up in that letter. I do love music and there is nothing I really need. Thank you for offering.

I was staying with my friend on my birthday, we didn't do anything special, but when I visited my friend a few weeks later, they did give me a little birthday party thing. The journal is amazing and I love it. I needed one anyway, filled up my last one with doodles.

School is alright. I do have strait O's. The journal is amazing and I would love to paint the room with you.

I am so thankful that you wrote back. I was so certain that you had decided you didn't like us. I want you to know that we will always be here for you and all you need to do is send us a letter and I will do everything in my power to help. I know it's hard not knowing us and not always being able to trust us, but we will always be there for you.

Neil and I were talking and we decided to send you pictures of us. It is the best way that you can get to picture us in your head and hopefully get to know us better. It was taken a little while back, I believe two years at our 30th anniversary.
