Follow-up from here.

August VanCleaf, an Auror from the Ministry of Magic who arrived a few weeks earlier unannounced has been ambling about the school grounds for the most part unnoticed. He had an uncanny resemblance to the school nurse, Fin VanCleaf

The ward already had a number of students filling the beds. An incident involving a 'fart bomb' prank gone wrong had sent several students to the infirmary. Symptoms did in fact include flatulence as well as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and severe abdominal upset.
Top Points Winners last and this month are invited:

@Ross Stephens (Hufflepuff)
@Lily Áshildr Björnsdotti (Slytherin)
@Pericles Dralt (Ravenclaw)
@Piérre Marchonné (Gryffindor)
@Atlas Reid (Hufflepuff)
@Xailah Alptraum (Gryffindor)

You would have been afflicted with this prank gone wrong. Ham it up as much as you want but you all are on the mend now if you want to skip the part I need to burn out of my memory.
In tow, August would be carrying a struggling @Jürgen Hess and a frozen stiff (with a likely crazed expression of his choice) @Galton Lansdale. "We need some help in here!" His voice was loud, confident and demanding. In many ways, opposite from the nurse that was shuffling between beds checking up on the students already there.

"Come on in!" Nurse Fin  replied without turning around. "We got a few cots left," he added. "Settle into one and I will be right with you." His voice was pleasant and unconcerned. Considering the various afflictions, conditions and injuries these children suffer from on a semi-routine basis.

The students would likely notice it first, how the man entering the room was the doppelganger of the nurse caring for them. The only difference - how they wore their hair and how much scruff was on the face. August kept a bit more scruff about his face but his hair was a bit neater whereas the nurse was on this day clean shaven and his hair a harried mess.

He took away a vomit filled basin at the bedside of one of the students (I don't care who) and asked "is the anti-emetic working?" They still looked pale, but at least they did not have that awful shade of green that they had when they came in here. The House elves were going to have a terrible time cleaning the restroom adjacent to the ward today. He shuddered at the thought.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Jürgen was not entering the space calmly or quietly. "Let us down! STRANGER DANGER!" His face beet red, he had been upside down for several minutes by now, his voice likely a bit hoarse because he had been screaming this entire time. His torso bobbing back and forth, he tried with likely no success to flail at and strike VanCleaf. Jürgen might have been a lot of things: incredibly sexy bachelor, wizard, future Minister of Magic... but he was certainly not a quitter.

He was taking them to the Hospital Wing. Back to the murse's murder-lair obviously. Galton was still frozen. "Think warm thoughts dude. Think warm thoughts." He did not know if Galton could hear him, "we are gonna kick his ass." They really weren't but positive thoughts.

As they got closer, the smell. The smell. Was awful. It was as if a rancid egg took a nap in a pile of old fish. Jürgen started to cough and gag, while the students inside the Hospital wing might have gone nose-blind, Jürgen had not. He was a shade of green-purple by the time the Auror breeches the doors with the two of them in tow.

Hack! Hack! Ugh!

Jürgen complained.

Pericles was a boy of average constitution. A scrawny eleven-year-old did not stand much chance against the rancidity of a fart bomb, thus he was carted in like the others, green in the face and clutching his abdomen. As Nurse Fin carted off his bile bucket, he managed a weak albeit appreciative croak: "Thank you, sir...." His smile was brittle. "I am feeling a bit better." As VanCleaf walked away however, his silver stare became suddenly severe, fixed on the back of the staff's head so intently that he seemed to be trying to worm his way into his thoughts. The line he had interpreted from a Lear "loveletter to Umbridge" was still fresh in his head:
She was murdered by Finley.

Typically, the arrival of an Auror would have filled the lad with life. He loved to pester Ministry officials which were not his Alumni father, particularly those of August's profession, and to glean whatever wisdom they would feed him to end his heckling. Either it was the nausea putting a damper on his enthusiasm, or Pericles was of no mind to talk with these two. He was deliberately fragile whenever they walked by, yet between bouts of sniveling and sipping water in feeble attempts at maintaining his hydration, he watched them warily. The first-year clung to his aspen wand beneath the covers like a child holds onto a security item.

His suspicion and propensity for investigation were at an all-time high, in spite of his sickly front, and he monitored the VanCleaf duo with great care. Propping himself up on a pillow, Pericles took his time trying to discern who he was hospitalized with, squinting at the poor bloke being levitated in. He didn't wish harm on his fellow students, but he was sorely glad that he was not alone.

Premeditated chaos... yes. Something that was handmade... and perhaps a little faultily wired. Perhaps a little too much Mucus ad Nauseum to add a little kick to the stink bomb... Well, either way...things must have gone wrong... otherwise Piérre would not have ended up in the infirmary alongside those he had attempted to prank.

His initial plan had been to make the bomb in the shape and style of a grenade, so that he could pull the pin and throw it before ten seconds had elapsed, but as Piérre was not a Ravenclaw and not a real intellect, something was destined to fail. And fail splendidly it had. The rank scent of flatulence had filled the corridors filled the senses of every person who had been in that small area, including himself. He hadn't meant to be malicious, and in fact, he had laughed pretty hard when he first picked up a whiff of it as he gagged. It was only seconds later that the Britalian realized that something had been wrong, for his stomach turned and bile had risen in his throat. He had not thrown up, but the fumes had been bad enough that it caused the Gryffindor to collapse to his knees before completely being knocked out.

His last reaction had been a bright, loud, slightly gagged laugh, and his features had been frozen in a smile.

Light as he had woken up surrounded by white, the acrid smell of the failed sulfuric attempt trapped in his sinuses. Coughing once, he blinked, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. The prim white beds and neatness of the area screamed a location that the boy had been fortunate not to have had to visit up to this point. The Hospital Wing.

Closing his eyes once again as his head began to spin, Piérre rolled on his side, trying to curl into a tiny ball like that way he would when he usually slept. A grumbling in his stomach, however, forced him to stop, as he felt unknown bowels moving. Apparently the bomb had been much more effective that he had wanted it to be.

"Ugh... what in the world was that chemical reaction? Hahaha..." Piérre jested to himself. He had tried to do something actually chaotic for once, and it had backfired on him. Still, he couldn't get over the feeling that he had almost expected the event to happen... He knew that he was destined to fail from the start.

Opening his eyes a crack, he watched just in time to see a person carrying two people with a sort of levitation spell. Intrigued, Piérre attempted to sit up. A twisting in his stomach tried to convince him to lay down, but the stubbornness of thee child refused, and instead chose to bear the gurgling. After all, Piérre had quite a good stomach. He was unlikely to throw up, even if there was a puke bucket nearby.

The man declared for everyone to make way and prepare an area for the students, a pair of boys, to get laid. Piérre tipped his head in curiosity. They looked like a pair of Gryffindors. Yet, Piérre didn't think he had seen them before.

Rolled a d4 to Determine House Color for the Day:
1- Hufflepuff
2- Ravenclaw
3- Gryffindor
4- Slytherin

Number Rolled: 4
Slytherin

It wasn't as if they would have recognized him either, for Piérre had gone undercover as a Slytherin student in order to pull off his prank, wearing a green blazer with the Slytherin tie and black pants. It was to protect his house and prevent it from losing points... and because he had been a top point earner the last month, that had been why he had wanted to make the bomb in the first place. As a celebration.

Well, look where it got him... and those people he had wanted to prank.

Piérre spotted another boy nearby, a boy that he had invited to the Gryffindor Liberation meetings all that time ago. It was Perry! Eyes widening with recognition, Piérre waved at the Ravenclaw. "Hey! Hi! Hi friend!" Piérre grinned wildly, ignoring the pain for the moment. Realizing that the boy could have been angry at him, Piérre flushed profusely as bile rose in the back of his throat again. He kneaded the sheets of his bed as his ears lowered in shame. "Hey... I'm really sorry... I didn't mean for this to happen... Honest, I didn't..."

Piérre's bottom lip began to shake. He hadn't wanted to hurt anyone... "Are you okay?" Following Perry's lead, Piérre looked around to spot other victims of his backfiring prank, keeping an eye on the new situation that was unfolding. "Is everyone okay? What's going on?" At this point, he sounded more delusional than aware.

"Oh poor baby." Xailah had yet to get the short end of the stick, when it came to things going wrong. She had never actually been seriously hurt, when something went haywire. Either she was very lucky, or everyone else was a magnet for life-threatening injuries. Even during the Masquerade, she managed to make it out of the Ballroom, with minimum injuries. Cracked ribs were a problem sure, but they were nothing considering two other students had been stabbed. For her, the worst was still yet to come. Today, Schrödinger- bless his fatty little heart, was the one paying, for the stupid mistakes of other students.

He was tiny, well, not for a cat- compared to your average adult cat, he was huge; but compared to the average adult human he was rather small. His tiny innards were no match for the horror, that was the Fart Bomb incident. Xailah, had been affected by the bomb- which was evident through her eyes; but her cat did get the worst of it. Green, the color of poison, swam around the slotted, pupil, of the Gryffindor; weaving its way in between the gold of her irises. The color rippled, and faded, like the little bubbles inside a Lava Lamp. She saw some familiar students, none of which she wanted to see- well, she didn't want them to see her, not in this state.

Her dark, chocolate locks writhed like a fistful of wounded snakes. She was nauseous. But she ignored the signs, as most of her focus was on her cat. Schrödinger was formed into a limp little ball, and could have very well been mistaken for dead- but his occasional painful mewls, would prove that the pathetic creature was indeed living. "I know it hurts, I know." She rubbed a gloved hand, along the grey fur that covered his back. "When I find out who did this, I'm going to wring their little neck." She cooed, as she pulled a small bowl over for the cat, incase he needed to vomit. "Woaw." He hacked, with discomfort. "Yes, I will have them ssscrubbing owl ssshit for the rest of their life." She said; assuring him in an strange, motherly sort of fashion.

Ross loved a good prank. He had always considered doing one himself, but had never had the mental attention span to put one together, much less not doubt himself through pulling it off. Even so, he supposed if he had he would have likely gone far too far. Then there were times Ross witnessed other pranks and realized what "too far" really was.

This was one of those times, except he sadly did not get to 'witness' it. Ross was forced to be a 'victim' in it, and he absolutely despised it.

As much as he would be able to say he just laughed it off, but that was rather difficult when his head felt like it was wobbling around the room and his stomach felt like it was doing gymnastics only hours before. Even so, if he had just laughed it off that would certainly not have stopped him from dealing with the reaction that came with it. No matter what, he would be in a mood more sour than a bucket of lemons in the Hospital Wing just like he was currently. It was miserable. He felt he just wanted to sleep once more, but his body refused to let him.

While Ross had not caught the face of the person who had originally done the prank in the first place, he could not help but be slightly curious. That curiosity was mainly drained out by how mainly annoyed he was if anything. Not only had it ruined his day, or perhaps couple of days that is, it probably ruined other people's from what he could hear from those around him.

For now he pathetically laid in the bed with hopes that perhaps he would get well soon. The vomiting had seemed to have relaxed hours before, which was more than welcome for him. After that, he had been in and out of the wondrous comfort of sleep. When he was not asleep, he would just lay there in the best way to describe it pure uncomfort as he listened to the light chatter he would hear around him.

Though he had light conversation prior, the Hufflepuff had not been quite interested. He had ignored it until suddenly he heard a booming voice come through the door.

"We need some help in here!"

Sure there had been people coming in and out, but Ross would be lying to say he were not curious. Ross attempted to prop himself up for a moment, but found himself quickly regretting it and laying back down. Though he likely could if he tried and it would likely end up fine, the Hufflepuff was simply not in the mood to attempt anything currently. It hit the boy there was a much more simple option, and turned himself on his side to where he could face the door. Though it was blurry due to the fact his glasses were on the table that was next to him, sight was not the important part in the conversation he was witnessing. Well, it would not be if it did not seem there were two of the nurse now.

Could he be dreaming?

He opened his mouth to say something of it, but swiftly shut it as slight nausea kicked back in.

He certainly was not dreaming.

Still, he proceeded to attempt to follow the scene that followed in front of him. It seemed quite dramatic, and to his best understanding he simply thought it was best to not get involved. It seemed intense to say the least.

Ross's gaze followed the nurse over to a blonde boy who he assumed had been impacted by what had gone wrong as well, and noticed as they explained. Those words somewhat got blurred out in his mind, but he supposed it was nothing too important, right?

The variety of students that lay hospitalized made Ross feel as if he was in some sort of cruel mystery game that would certainly have peaked his interest at home, or perhaps a trashy sitcom. It was a wide variety, but Ross was interested. The investigator inside of him tugged at his heart to ask questions, and yet Ross' mind knew it was best to not.

Which was a pity, as he never listened to his mind.

Ross once again attempted to prop himself up and felt his nausea settle upon him; however, the boy pushed through quite similarly to another student near him. He groaned once he found his back leaning on the pillows. The headache was burning, but the effort to sit up was much worse than actually sitting up, which was certainly a plus side. Though he still somewhat faced the ceiling, the Hufflepuff made an effort to look left and right in order to comprehend who was around him and what was happening. He lifted up his arms, which felt like 100 pound weights, and ran his fingers through his hair. He found himself desired a shower almost immediately. Not due to the smell of course, no no he could hardly smell that anymore. It was due to his hair feeling so oily he swore he could fuel the entirety of America using it. Overall on top of that he simply felt disgusting, yet he doubted the sickness was truly over yet. Still, he refused to have gone through all of that effort to not at least attempt to understand what was happening. Even though he did understand the majority of it, he still wanted to see other people's knowledge of the subject for his own sanity.

"What's goin' on?" He weakly asked to what felt like no one.

His body had turned on him. How was a great figure like Galton supposed to lead both a kingdom and a spouse into the future if he couldn’t even command his own body to do his bidding. He’d been humiliated once before, on the day of his coronation, and now, the day of his wedding had come and history seems set to repeat itself. His beautiful Candyman would be left waiting for him at the alter. The delicious hunk of flesh left to worry until news of his groom’s capture reached the courtyard. But then he’d come rushing to Galton’s aid, right?

As he floated further and further away, the White decorations got less and less elaborate. Petals stopped flowing in the air, streamers thinned, and the white carpet slowly faded. The cheers from his subjects became more and more rush, replaced with questions and cries for help. Galton tried with every ounce of his being to move his little immobile body, but nothing seemed to work. The best he could do was grunt and scream, trying to form words without the use of his tongue. The only one who truly seemed to try to aid him was a familiar voice following him. His best man was fighting for him, or trying at the least. Jurgen’s energy began to fuel Galton.

Rage didn’t cover the feeling the small boy had coursing through his head. His face had gone a deep shade of red, most likely due to all of the blood now pooled in his head, but it aptly showed his state of mind. Behind the frozen smile Galton’s tongue did it’s best to regain movement, bashing against his teeth as if the bars of a jail cell.

By the time they finally entered a large room, Galton was able to form distorted words with the limited use of his mouth. “I ‘ILL GE’ OO” escaped his throat with as much volume as he could muster. He continued to make odd grunts and screams as he fought against the invisible ties that bound him. That’s when it hit him.

This stench. Oh, this stench. He’d been hauled into a room filled to the brim with ginger people. But not any ginger people, the sweetest smelling ginger people he’d ever smelled. Buckets of candy water here and there, some ginger people even soaked in a fine layer of sugary glaze. Not being able to consume this smell just drove Mr. Lansdale further and further away from sanity.

He would break free, he would have his revenge for this speed bump in his wedding, he must return to his beloved. “CANDY KINGDOM, HELP ME FREE AND LET US FEAST!”

Atlas squirmed in the hospital wing bed as every fiber in her body wanted to leave. She had been injured more times than she could count in her life but she had never needed to go to the hospital. Something about the overly clean atmosphere and the poking and prodding set her off.

The longer she was forced to be here the longer it would take for her to find out who set off this incredible prank as the evidence would surely be disposed of. She had only been at Hogwarts for a short time and already she had successfully pulled off two pranks but this prankster obviously had more ideas under their belt and she needed to brainstorm.

The wing reeked of an amalgamation of scents and honestly that affected Atlas more than the side effects of the prank. No doubt she had added to this grotesque atmosphere the night before but she was feeling better today and she wanted nothing more than to talk to her best friend Ethen and tell him all about the incredible prank she was exposed to. He would no doubt want to hear all the gory details and knowing him, he would already have something up his dessert stuffed sleeves.

Atlas pulled her sleeves down over her hands as she held them up to her nose trying to block out the nauseating air as she rolled her eyes watching as two more students were dragged into the hospital wing. "God this prank had distance..." Atlas admired as she overhead a Slytherin boy two beds from her apologizing to a boy for the prank. "Bingo." Atlas gleamed. It was always nice to find other pranksters as the more you got together the bigger and better the pranks could be.

Raising her hand to flag down the overburdened nurse to no avail, Atlas let out an exasperated sigh as she puffed her cheeks out. She could see that people were having a rough time around her but she couldn't help but giggle when she noticed a girl beside her turning a new shade of greenish-grey.

A man who looked almost identical to the nurse rushed in with two boys and Atlas was amused that at least something was happening. She had never seen him here before but figured he was with the Ministry or at least she hoped he was, cause that meant serious stuff was happening. If he was an Auror he might know her father and it would be quite the tale to tell Elijah Reid how he met his daughter for the first time. She was positive her father wouldn't be able to stop laughing. The boys he was aiding didn't seem to be affected the same way everyone else was which only made her more excited.

Whatever happened to them...she had to find out. Sitting up on the edge of her squeaky bed Atlas waited to hear what the mystery man had to say.

NPC: Fin VanCleaf, school nurse
There were some things a man can be prepared for. Meeting the love of your life in an unlikely place. Realizing that the milk you drank an hour ago was 'bad' despite passing the sniff test. Whilst unexpected, they could be managed. Meeting the man he had waited decades to finally meet, was not among them. The elixir in the male nurse's hand would slip from between his fingers, his jaw agape as he stared at his twin. He had known of August, endeavored to meet him a number of times but until this moment he had never been successful.

The potion that had fell on the floor had a pungent stench, not nearly as ripe as whatever stink Pierre had created. "August?" There was a tone of disbelief mixed with elation as he was temporarily distracted from his patients. They would be fine, a bit worse for the wear but they would be fine. He took a half step forward, should he shake his brother's hand? Should he give him a hug? The man was obviously overwhelmed with emotion.

The reunion would be cut short by the manic youth in his brother's grasp.

“CANDY KINGDOM, HELP ME FREE AND LET US FEAST!”

The maddened child cried. He was familiar with this frenzied youth, there was not enough sedatives in this entire wing to keep that boy safety down for long. He had first come across the boy in this same wing back in November. The Masquerade Ball was over, the limp motionless body of the young man was carried into the infirmary by Headmaster Plott. He had thought the boy was killed considering his battered form. He was followed by the other boy who was now restrained, making a fuss as they entered the room. Young Hess had suffered second and third degree burns over most of his body, he spent over a week in this wing. Galton only lasted the night, he was utterly unmanageable, as much of a risk to himself as he was to the others. He tried to eat the bed linens, he was certain that the boy might have partially succeeded (if an unacceptable godmod, I will gladly modify or feel free to add on) as he could have sworn that his bed previously had two pillows.

"Dear Merlin, not again," Fin complained temporarily forgetting about the students still recovering from the Gryffindor's shenanigans. It would have been preferable if he could evacuate the other students, Galton was not powerful but he was unpredictable. "Students," he did not have the time to address each of them individually. "If any of you have anything that is edible or... in some insane upside-down universe looks edible. Please hide it," things like buttons and earrings that could easily be swallowed being a likely preference. Yes, in a way Fin was toddler-proofing the hospital wing.

"What happened?"

Cleaner cut than this brother with a freshly shaven face and more formal attire, the resemblance remained striking between them. They even parted their hair the same way. The difference between them, mostly in the eyes - Fin's were paler and softer in comparison to August's. Of course, that would appear to be where the similarities ended -- while they appeared quite similar their mannerisms were quite different.

His brother was waiting for him in the infirmary. He had known of his brother's choice of employment for some time, choosing a name such as VanCleaf was more than enough to get the man's attention. Of course the question anyone that might have known him would have asked -- why had he not met his brother before now? Well, simply put, they might share the same face but they had both lived very different lives and ultimately became two very different men.

If he could help it, he would not send his own blood to prison.

He had been here before, a year earlier in fact. He had been summoned to the infirmary likely for this very meeting, one he had failed to attend, there were matters even more pressing than a family reunion. In the year since, there had been several letters teaching out to him. A few signed 'Finny' requesting a cup of coffee in a shop in London during a holiday. Letters he had never replied to.

The enthusiasm was one sided, but August was pleasant enough it would seem but not nearly as sentimental it would appear. "Uh yes, I am," he had an air of confidence and poise that the nurse seemed to lack as well as a dignity and a sense of urgency. "And these two," he was referring to Galton and Jürgen "need to be looked over, Finley." Yes, he knew his name. "Please," as well as his manners.

Jürgen would be released from August's grip first, if the reckless Gryffindor attempted to strike the Auror, the boy would find himself roughly restrained once again. Followed by Galton, the boy who was more like a chained animal than an actual boy at this moment. Releasing him was like releasing a rabid dog, you knew that he was 'dangerous' but you had no idea what he was going to do or who he was going to bite.
