Entering form the Goblin' It Up Errand after falling down the stairs
Ileen blinked to clear her vision and felt her head. Yes, there was definitely a thick, painfully pulsating bump on the back of her head. The pain already subsided after the house elves had given her something. However, she and Percival had received strict instructions to lie still for another hour and a half.

Dee had gotten help and Ileen and the young Slytherin boy had been brought to the Hospital Wing. Then they had sent Dee away to return to her Common Room. Normally, she should have waited but since it was already pretty late and Ileen would not be alone on her way back to the dungeons, they had made this decision.
The young Slytherin was still too dizzy and upset by her unexpected fall, to be angry about it. Still dressed in her white dress and a white face, she probably really looked like a ghost lying there on the bed.

Testing, she moved her head, and when that didn't make the pain worse, she gently turned it and looked over at Percival, who was lying on the bed next to her. The sheet had been removed from him.
Ileen frowned as the familiar mixture of different feelings came crashing down on her. She really didn't know how she felt about him. Thanks to his quarrels with Dee, she was often caught in the middle, but when they were alone and the going got tough, they helped each other. Even though they had little to do with each other, Ileen knew she could trust him when it really counted and that made him special. Something she didn't want to give up. So she kind of liked him and at the same time he was an idiot for pushing her down the stairs. Even if the push was meant for her best friend. Something that was hardly better.

Though, she was relieved that nothing too bad had happened to him. Part of her felt betrayed, though. She had tried to integrate him because she had been worried, seeing him alone without his weird little friend. He had spoken to her when she had been alone so she had wanted to return the favor. But instead of being grateful he had picked up the fight with Dee. “Damn it, Percival. You could have killed us. I hope you are happy now.
Her voice sounded rather resigned than angry and the disappointment was written all over her face.

Percival glanced up at the white ceiling as he lay prone in the bed. His head felt like it was swimming in a pool of molasses. It hurt to think, and he doubted the light beaming into the room was helping at all. The boy closed his eyes letting himself get lost in his thoughts.

Things hadn't turned out the way he had thought they would when Ileen asked him to accompany her. Thoughts of a fun and even enjoyable night. Were swept away by the brute that was Dealla Prince. He knew part of it was his fault, but it wasn't like he hated her for no reason. She destroyed his most treasured item. Sure she apologized, but how much was an apology from her worth? He didn't think it was worth much if he had to be honest.

The boy flinched slightly as Ileen spoke up. Things had been far too quiet in the Hospital Wing. So much so, that he was sure if someone dropped a pin they would be able to hear it. For Ileen to break the silence had been surprising, but not horribly unwelcome. That was until he realized the reason for her speaking was to scold him like an unruly child.

Percival frowned at the disappointment that seemed to drip from her words. He glanced towards her. Before stopping as pain spiked through his head. "Believe it or not I didn't want this to happen." he said his voice far quieter than he had meant for it to sound. "I just wanted to have a good night. I didn't mean for this...to you know...get out of hand." he added.

lleen closed her eyes for a second. The pain in her head started to fade slowly, but it was still strong enough to make her wish her head would fall off. Plus, now she also noticed the bruises and the pain on other spots. Her back, knees and elbows remembered every step they had met during her fall down the stairs.
When they boy spoke up, Ileen opened her eyes again, blinking at him in confusion. She had expected a harsh answer, probably defending her or blaming Dee - but no. He spoke calm and silently.
The young Slytherin tilted her head, though she immediately regretted doing so. The sudden movement caused another sharp pain right behind her eyes and she gritted her teeth to suppress a moan. Was he… sorry? The mere possibility that this was the case instantly took the wind out of her sails.

So, instead of further ranting on him, she carefully turned her head and glanced at the ceiling with a soft sigh. “Hm. I was hoping for a nice evening as well. I just wish you guys would stop fighting. I am so sick of this.” She was blaming Dee as much as she was blaming him. The both of them always made her choose. Of course, Dee was her best friend, but she cared for Percival. Since the fight club, she knew that they were better off together. They stuck together when it was important.
He seemed to be a reasonable person, a rare thing in her house, except when it came to Dee. Ileen appreciated his company and ever since he had this small fight with Hanako, he seemed to be kind of lonely. She had invited him, because she had thought they might help each other and have a nice evening together. Well, as he had said - it went out of hand.
I mean… seriously. We both got seriously hurt. What would it take to stop this for good?” Well, okay. She was still mad. She had done nothing and yet, here she was. Punished for something that wasn’t her fight after all.

Percival felt the frown on his face grow as he listened to her speak. He didn’t know what to tell her. There was nothing that could be said to erase the tension between him and Dealla. The two had been at one another throats since the first year, and he had no doubts that it would be like this for years to come. Interacting with her was like a war was being waged by word of mouth. He didn’t want to back down. He refused to let her win after everything. His pride couldn’t handle that.

”I don’t think that’s possible.” he said his frown grew tighter. The boy did his best to distract himself by studying the eggshell-colored ceiling. He wondered if he sat still enough and all his problems would simply just disappear. It was a silly thing to think about, but it was thought no less.

Percival’s brows furrowed together as she continued to speak. She seemed upset still, but it wasn’t like he had room to complain. It was completely understandable for her to be a little more than annoyed with him. He had taken them for a dive onto stone flooring. ”I know it was dangerous. But...I think it is a bit too late for us to act civil towards one another.” he said with a sigh.

Ileen turned her head in his direction so quickly that a sharp pain shot through her neck and made her gasp. Her face contorted in anger and pain, she squinted her eyes shut and waited for the throbbing pain to subside. Her fingers dug firmly into the sheet with which she was covered. She started counting backwards from ten in her head, trying to calm down her racing heart and to get a grip on her temper.
When she felt armed, she opened her eyes, which looked almost black in her pale face and now sparkled dangerously. She glared at the boy with all the impact she could provide at the moment - considering that she had been knocked out and was about to get fixed up, probably not that much. But he just needed to notice how outrageous she was!

Yes, they had an iffy and difficult relationship. But when Dee wasn’t around, they always ended up working together. She had started to care for this stubborn silly boy who seemed to hold grudges against her best friend forever - if grudges was even the right word.
They had helped each other to escape from the fight club, they had been together at some of the darkest moments of their lives and now such a silly little thing was destroying everything. That he couldn’t see that did not only make her angry. It also did hurt.
She had reached out for him when he had seemed lonely and he had returned the favor before. Ileen knew he was one of the good guys, a kind that was rare around here. And now he was ruining it by acting like a stupid, stubburn little child!
Fine!” She hissed the word like an accusation and her facial expression turned even darker. “If you think it’s doomed and you can’t do anything about it, why are you talking to me in the first place? You know, she would probably show up. And hey, I thought that we were getting along, kind of. After all we’ve been through. Apparently, I was wrong by assuming that would be more important than this stupid fight of yours.
She shook her head, underlining the bitterness and anger in her voice. “I am not a huge fan of your friends, either, you know? But I at least try not to kill them.

Percival was beginning to suspect he had done nothing more than light the flame of Ileen's anger with his words. The silence stretched between them as he heard her gasp out in pain. Glancing over at her did nothing to make him feel better. She was clutching the sheets as if they had spat on her family name. The boy glanced upwards at the ceiling unsure how to react. It seemed that no matter what he said he could not do much more than royally anger the Ileen. He was not too sure how he had angered her this time. What he spoke was the truth. The time for reconciliation was like a flame dying more and more by every hour. How were they supposed to come to an understanding after everything that has happened between them? Especially after the events of today.

The boy felt a frown grow on his face before he scoffed to himself. "You act as if this is all fixable. It isn't. Especially when we haven't talked since everything happened. You can't just expect itself to fix all in time for one night, Ileen. I wish you would have just accepted it instead of forcing us to put on a show just for you. In truth, I wish you had just told me to leave. I'm sure Dealla would have been pleased, and you could have had your perfect night." he said his brows furrowing. Percival found no words to speak at her last words. Instead, he would turn to look away from her unsure and unwillingly to continue this direction in the conversation.

Ileen herself was the kind to hold grudges. If she wasn’t so involved she would probably see his point. Not that she would be okay with it, but maybe less angry. She didn't forgive him nor Dee for acting that way.
Of course, he was right though. She should not have forced them to walk with her together and maybe just accept that their relationship was that way. Selfish of her to request them to lay down the weapons for her sake. It was just so true what she had just said. She had hoped their friendship was more important than a stupid pointless war. But it wasn’t.

As she realized that, suddenly all energy left her body. She sank back into the cushion and glanced at the sealing. It did hurt quite a bit, but she had just made up some expectations that were probably very unrealistic. She had craved peace between the people she liked, but there was only so much she could do.
With a sigh, she closed her eyes and tried to ignore the weight that was lowering on her chest along with the ugly and painful reality. “I know.” Her voice was suddenly very quiet. “I can’t force you to get along. I just had hoped you would stop fighting for one night. I didn’t want to send away any of you. Because I like being with you.” She didn’t even think about revealing too much information. She felt sick and weak and thinking about consequences was just beyond her power at the moment. “I- I just had hope you both could bury it for me. But I guess that was too much to ask.” Her voice was barely audible at the end of her sentence. It wasn’t an apology. She still felt like they should have done it for her. She was disappointed. But she had accepted that they probably won’t stop ever.

Opening her eyes again, she shifted her head to the side. “But I need both of you to promise not to harm each other at least. Or we can’t be friends.” It was not a request. It was a fact. She was too tired to fight for all of this. If he had no interest in being her friend he could tell her right away and then they would be done.

Percival felt himself hold his breath as he waited for the girl to respond to his somewhat rough outburst. Though, if he were, to be honest with himself he thought it was rather justified. It hurt how much he had come to like Ileen's presence. So why did she have to go ahead and be friends with the likes of Dealla Prince. The boy licked at his dry and cracking lips. His head throbbed harshly and he wondered when he would be released from this stupid bed. When could he be released from the interrogation of Ileen Knight. When could he be free from her words that hold a semblance of truth that makes his heartache?

For all that he wanted to pretend that he was the only one in the right. He knew deep down that Ileen made some good points, and he was not too sure how willing he was to take a deeper look at it. The boy moved his gaze to look away from the girl. Unsure if he wanted to see her at the moment. Her silence concerned him and while he was grateful she was no longer berating him. He found himself uneasy as the silence stretched between them.

Percival would find no words to respond to the girl's words. She seemed so resigned and disappointed. The boy started wishing that she would simply go back to berating him. Percival could take the berating. It was so easy to fight fire with fire, but here... All he felt was the sludge of tiredness and no hope. The boy swallowed thickly keeping his gaze stuck on the light fixture on the wall a few beds over. Percival blinked slowly a frown stuck permanently on his face. "I guess I can try that for you." he said quietly and unsure. "I'm tired I think I am going to close my eyes for a while." he said in hopes of signaling an end to the conversation.

Ileen sighed and closed her eyes. Her head felt like a mad troll tried to fight their way out of it and for a moment she longed for the soft and dark quietness and peace of unconsciousness. Her heart was still beating fast as she waited for a reaction from the other bed. She hadn’t known that this was actually important to her, but the anxiety with which she awaited his response told her how she really felt.
But there was just silence. But at least he didn’t laugh or scoff at her… Maybe that was a good sign? She wanted to be friends - as long as he stopped to threaten her best friend and the other way around.

Finally, after hours as it felt like, the boy said something and her heart did a leap. Although it felt like her head was exploding, she carefully turned it to glance at him once more. The light created a piercing pain in her eyes, but she wanted to see his facial expression. A soft smile appeared on her lips as all the anxiety and the pressure on her chest lifted with his words.
I guess, that’s good enough for now.” Turning her head back towards facing the ceiling, she didn’t say another word for a while. Not sure if he had fallen asleep, she finally summoned the courage to whisper her next words. They were soft, so soft he probably wouldn’t hear them anyway.
Thank you for trying. That really means a lot.

Then she closed her eyes and joined him. If she knew what their future had in store for them, she wouldn’t have hesitated to thank him. Together, they would face many challenges and dangers and somehow make it through alive.
Ileen just had made peace with her greatest supporter in Slytherin and her future holding hands partner. But she didn’t know yet. So all she could do was to hope for the headache to go away.
