On a late Friday afternoon, a little girl found her way into the hospital wing, carefully holding one hand against the back of her head. She held it before her face next, not quite surprised about the blood on it. It wasn't much blood, but Opeila still decided to go up so the nurse could look at it.
It was rather stupid really, out of all injuries she endured since she put a foot into Hogwarts, this one was likely the most typical for children.

The Slytherin had been clumsy. She had spent the afternoon in the library mostly, doing her homework before the weekend started. After a while, she had accidently pushed her book off the table. Opeila had ducked under it to pick it up again before anyone saw it- Opeila didn't know the librarian but she didn't want to risk being kicked out of the library- but gotten up too quickly. The back off her head crashed right into the corner of the table.

For a moment Opeila simply stayed on her chair, trying to endure the first pain without starting to cry, despite tears filling her eyes. Eventually she got up and made her way up to the hospital wing. And here she was.

"Hello?"

The evening was closing in, and it wouldn't be too long before all the students would be exiled to their common rooms and the adults could go off the clock. That was, not everyone got to be off the clock, but Brumby certainly did. He had found a lovely routine he fit into, and part of that routine was letting everyone go the moment they were done with their final task. Because of that, evenings tended to have an exponentially thinning staff. Perhaps he would be reprimanded for it eventually, but he didn't see the harm. After all, his tasks usually had him staying a bit after hours anyway, and he could handle anything!

It was this skeleton crew that would see a solo little girl walking through the wing, her footsteps nearly the only sound as his few patients were quietly reading, doing homework, or already asleep. Looking around, it seemed he was the only person in immediate vicinity that could attend to her, so pushing his paperwork aside, he got up from his creaky chair. His recent long term inactivity required him to struggle and groan in the attempt, no longer the spry teenager that could spring up like a rocket at a moment's notice.

"Heya, what's up?" As Kels maneuvered around the desk, he walked up to the girl with a big smile.

When Opeila entered the hospital wing, she didn't know what exactly she was expecting. Certainly not this. Last time she had been here, she had not been the only one. The whole hospital wing had been filled with Slytherin students screaming and crying in pain after getting carried up by exhausted classmates. There had been a nurse back then- VanCleaf? Nurse VanCleaf? The name had been something like that. But the man who greeted her with a big smile now, was certainly not nurse VanCleaf. When had he been replaced? And why? Did this nurse know what happened to house Slytherin last year?

"Hello...", Opeila greeted him back, a bit shyer. She had not quite expected a greeting that enthusiastic. "I uh... Hit my head on a table earlier and it's bleeding.", she told him. Was it silly that she had gone to the hospital wing for that? Should she have just pulled herself together and gone to her common room? Well, her head still hurt, so she didn't exactly regret her decision yet.

"Er, I am Opeila Winters.", she quickly added. She wanted to tell the nurse about the curse. What if he knew more than VanCleaf? Maybe he could help them find a cure. If he had an idea that would definitely not be too bad, right?

Kels nodded along, peering to look for this blood she spoke of, but it just wasn't immediately clear. Must have been covered up by her hair, she did have a lot of it. Also, it was late enough that light from the windows was becoming increasingly dimmer, and he could no longer rely on the sun's rays to guide him.

"Where didja get hit? Can ya point to it?" Kels patted himself down for his wand, only to note it wasn't on him. It must have still been on his desk, a few feet away. "Why dontcha sit down Opeila Winters, I'll be right back."

Skittering off back to his desk like a kid who was in trouble, he scattered a few piles of crap around to search for his missing limb. The poor thing deserved a safe place to stay, but it ended up relegated to the same priority as most of the things he owned-- put down wherever there was space. Taking only a short moment to find it and snatch it up, he jogged back over to wherever Opeila decided to rest.

"Sorry about that, forgot my-- you know. Hahaha." Despite his unprofessionalism, he seemed quite happy. Too happy! "I'm Nurse Brumby! Expert table wound healer!"

The nurse seemed unable to find the spot she hit on the table... and his wand as well. Despite the pain in her head, Opeila was rather amused. Most adults in Hogwarts had a rather respectable and elegant aura, while this nurse almost seemed... a bit lost? The Slytherin didn't find it a bad thing at all, it was almost a little refreshing. First the pencil using caretaker who wanted students to call him by his first name and now this very enthusiastic seeming, clumsy nurse. Opeila liked it.

The man told Opeila to take a seat while he rushed off, probably to get his wand. The second year looked around and finally took a seat on a chair nearby. Soon the nurse came back, apologizing for forgetting his wand and introduced himself as Nurse Brumby, the expert table wound healer. Opeila couldn't help grinning at his good mood, it was truly contagious. "All good, I guess I won't bleed out. No rush.", she joked, before pointing at the back of her head where she hit the table.

While Nurse Brumby healed her wound with a spell she didn't know but certainly would try to remember, the second year was unsure. Was it a good idea to tell the nurse about the curse? The man was new and Opeila didn't want to be the reason for him to immediately quit his position again.

"Erm... Nurse Brumby?", she asked, audibly unsure. "Have- Have you been told about last year's events?" The second year nervously knotted her fingers together.
She had made her choice.

Once he had secured his chesnut arm and returned to the little girl, it seemed her spirits had raised at least a little bit. That was a good start, but she wouldn't be all well until her booboo was healed. Going to where she was pointing on the back of her head, Kels looked at it momentarily first to see if there was any infection, or who knows, if she might have been using that story to cover up something more dangerous, always good to see it for himself. Once he was assured it was just a little cut, he made a short slash through the air with his wand, "Episkey." With that, the would should clean and seal, and even feel better instantly. It was no wonder he became interested in healing arts with spells like this that made tomfoolery less consequence-y.

"Yer all set!" He said, going back to her front side with a big smile.

She wasn't all set though, as there was clearly something on her mind that she wanted to talk about. Something about the events going on in Hogwarts before he arrived? That was an extremely large pool of information to draw from. It seemed like it was something she was having trouble talking about directly. "What're ya talkin' about, was there a parade or somethin'?"
