Professor @Morfran Griffith left the smoldering remains of the Blossom Ball. In his pocket the injured, however many or few that might be. Some of the students were simply reckless fools, trying to put a fire out whilst lacking the fortitude or means to do so. Burns, smoke inhalation and psychological trauma would be the main concerns of this unit, on this day. The nurses in Hogwarts earned their keep, nary a bed that went cold in a place such as this.
Of course there was something strange going on even here if one thinks about it. A dozen or so beds, perpetually being filled. How often due to accidents? How often due to acts of violence? How often due to tragic circumstance or an unforeseen incident? How normal was it for children to be injured as often as they were? As severely as they were? Perhaps Professor Griffith was right -- perhaps they should just wrap everything in bubble wrap.
It was strange still, even here. There was always the sound of laughter in a place with so many children, but a chortle could be heard even here. Nobody was laughing, There was no reason to laugh. There was nobody here that was laughing. That should be laughing. Out the window where? The ground was stories below. In the hall, down a corridor? Those empty corridors, bereft of students because most were at the Blossom Ball or had retired to the safety of their beds...

He was cursing inwardly. He had chosen to prioritize saving the injured over stopping the students, although he would stop the students as well. Two problems could be dealt with, maybe not simultaneously, but if he just took care of one after the other it was going to be okay. Still, for all his mental profanity, his outward appearance maintained the look of calm it did in times of minor crisis. Yes, this was still very much minor.
Reaching a hand for his pocket, he began hauling students onto beds, mentally reviewing who the slytherin and Gryffindor boy were so that he could, at the very least, find them again. Come to think of it, the perpetrator was a Gryffindor with cat eyes, right? That kind of student stuck out, and the more he thought about it the more the thought it sounded familiar. Very familiar. In fact, he thought he even knew the girl's name.
Charles. Her name was Charles. Wait, no, why had he thought Charles? A few moments later, the welshman's brain caught up with itself, realizing that her name was much similar to Xavier, hence his prior confusion. Still, it was just a suspicion. He would have to go and confirm it shortly. He knew where they had run off to, at least the general direction. It wouldn't take long for him to catch up.
As he turned to leave, his gave lingered on @Elizabeth Linscott. Was she a part of this, or really just a victim? Regardless, it was up to the nurse to help them now. Without another word, he power walked out of the room, headed back for the forest and still internally cursing like a sailor. Find the others, then throw them all in detention, teach them that there were actually consequences.

Little did Professor Griffith know, this was far from minor. In fact, this was terrifying.
Something was going on here, something darker and far worse than a few boys in the midst of a lover's spat. In fact, there has been an upswing in deviant behavior throughout Hogwarts. Much like the numerous disappearances among the youth, the dangerous, reckless, evil propensities witnessed among the youth was unusual. Perhaps kids were getting worse. Perhaps the world was getting worse.
At least these kids would be safe, nestled safe in these warm, clean beds.
There was nobody to stop Morfran from leaving. The nurses wanted to, but Morfran had this sexy dangerous air to him. The moment would have been ruined if they stopped him from leaving, but the nurse on duty would curse herself for not making this scene play out just a little differently. She could have asked him out for a walk when her shift ended in an hour, but cowardice stood in her way. So she watched him leave, he was as fun to watch leave as he was to watch come. She bit her lower lip and mouthed 'dayum.'
After she stared at him longer than was natural, more like she had an absence seizure while staring in his general directions she would snap out of it. There were kid to tend to. So she did just that, cared for them.

Elizabeth sat by the fireplace, taking in its warmth. Her hair was dripping and her clothing was soaked after falling into the lake again. What is it now? The 27th time? This week? she thought. She couldn't believe how careless she was getting. Twenty-seven times was certainly very excessive. Come to think of it, the last time she had fallen in she had been in her astronomy class, nowhere near the lake. Strange, but she brushed away the thought and continued staring at the flames.
They were quite mesmerizing, practically dancing around as if performing for an audience. One appeared to look at her, making Elizabeth blink. "Come dance with us," it said, still staring at her. It remained still as the other flames danced around it. "Are you...talking to me?" Her face scrunched in confusion. Surely flames don't talk. Perhaps a student put something in the lake again. They were always doing that, pouring strange concoctions in the lake, making students who got lake water on them see or do strange things. This was probably one of those times. She'd let a professor know when she was all dried up.
She yawned and leaned back against the chair behind her. She heard another voice coming from the fireplace. "Yesss, come dance with us," it said. Elizabeth looked at the flames again. Now there were two stationary flames staring at her. Elizabeth tilted her head to one side. Curious, she thought. She suddenly wanted to join them, but pushed the thought from her mind. Don't get near the fire. Fire was dangerous. Fire could burn! And yet, it looked so fun in there, the flames dancing around in the warmth. it was ceertainly much better than being stuck out here, driping wet and cold. She began crawling toward the flames.
"Come dance with us!", the second flame said again, sounding excited. Suddenly, a large flame rose up. It towered over the other two, and stared down at her. Elizabeth looked up at it, suddenly fear washing over her. She heard a deep, sinister laugh escape its lips. "YES, COME DANCE WITH US!" it seemed to shout. Elizabeth tried to turn around and get away, but it was too late and the large flame grabbed her and began pulling her in. "AAAAHHH" Elizabeth screamed and tried to break free from its burning grasp. She fought and flailed and...Kerplunk!
Elizabeth opened her eyes. It was dark in the room and there were beds everywhere. Her first thought was that she was back in her dorm room, but that couldn't be right. This room was larger and looked different than her dorm room. The distinct smell of disinfectants filled the air. The child wrinkled her nose and further assessed the situation. She was on the floor next to a bed she had presumably fell out of, a blanket tangled around her, but why? She removed herself from the blanket and sat back on the bed, a sharp pain rising from her chest, making her cough. Oh, now she remembered. She had been at the Blossomfest Ball and there was the fire and...Illowy! Hadn't she been injured, too? Elizabeth looked around for her friend. The room was empty except for a lone student, two beds over, who seemed too large to be the first year Elizabeth was looking for. She grabbed the blanket off the floor and pulled it up and over her, suddenly anxious for her friend. Where was she? It was possible she was simply not injured enough to need to be at the hospital wing, but that seemed unlikely. Her friend had seemed injured rather badly.
She thought back, trying to remember anything that might tell her where her friend might be. She remembered the fire and the tree, then walking to the professor, and then...darkness. Just darkness. Elizabeth leaned against the pillow, puzzling whether she should go looking for her friend. Probably not. There had been a professor there after all. He would have made sure she was fine, though it was strange she wasn't in the hospital as well. She yawned. Perhaps Illowy knew something and was just answering questions, she finally concluded. She put her head back on the pillow and in moments was asleep again.

Elizabeth awoke from her slumber again, but this time not because of a nightmare, but because of the insufferable snoring of the student two beds down. She groaned and turned away from the student, then pulled her pillow over her head. When that didn't work, she sat up and glared at him. "Shhhhh," she whispered, which did nothing to stop his racket. Oh well, I guess I could just go to my common room, she thought, examining her injuries. There was some kind of ointment on her hands and arms, but they felt a lot better, as did her face. It didn't even hurt to breathe anymore, though she did feel slightly breathless. Still, she was much better. She pulled the blanket off of herself and stood up.
She began making her way to the door, then stopped. Something felt wrong. She peered around at the room. Everything looked in order, except..."Illowy," she whispered. She still hadn't arrived. Elizabeth had no idea how long she had been in the room, but it had to have been at least an hour, right? Probably more for all she knew. Her worry returned once again, coupled with an intense feeling that her friend was in extreme danger. The child looked back at the matron's office, hoping for some reassurance that her friend was fine, back in her common room, asleep, but all she saw was darkness. The woman had left for the night.
Elizabeth wanted to cry. Where was her friend?! Dead? Because of the fire? She pushed the thought out of her head. No, that wouldn't happen. she told herself. That couldn't happen. Not with all of the professors around. They wouldn't let that happen. No, all she had to do was head back out to the Ball. There she would probably find a professor or the headmaster talking to the students about what happened. Illowy would be there, injured, but safe. She felt the sensation of tears running down her face and quickly wiped them away. No need to cry, Elizabeth. She's fine. She's just outside waiting her turn. she thought again. Quickly, she ran back to the bed and pulled the blanket off of it, wrapping it around herself in case she got cold. She'd bring it back soon. Then she hurried out the door.

The nurse would continue to busy herself. When Elizabeth stood up and went for the door the nurse would verbally protest "stop right there young miss, you need your rest!" She tugged the sheets on the bed she was making. "I wont have you cavorting about the castle or grounds in your condition, get yourself back into bed this instant young lady!" The tone was stern but unheeded.Exit granted obviously.
Elizabeth would run off, much to the nurse's chagrin. They never listen to her, it was incredibly frustrating. Part of it was because she lacked the authority to make any of them stay. That she lacked the ability to give them a consequence beyond a failure of their health when they failed to heed the instructions she had given them. She needed to request the authority to ground these students, give them detention, bed rest... that sort of thing.
She let out a sigh, she would likely see that kid later today at this rate. She would turn her attention to the other students, some just being overly dramatic regarding their injuries sustained at the Blossom Ball, others with legitimate complaints. she was too busy to dwell on the kids that had left. If she could walk, she could fall and what was stitched could still bleed and what was scalded could still burn... She heard a brief synopsis of what happened, it was obvious the girl would be back soon enough. She let out a sigh. Later kiddo.
