Swimming in the Lake
The lakeside was revamped with some large picnic blankets folded neatly and packed into a box near the benches. If students wanted, they could easily have a picnic there. The grass was green and beautiful but not everyone wanted to sit directly on it - especially not with food. It was a good place to sit and read, hang out with friends or go for a swim. There was plenty of options around the lake both in and out of the water.
A sign appeared near the lake. It read: "No Swimming before 9AM or after 6PM." This enforced that students were allowed to swim freely during the day time. They were not allowed to swim during the evening or night, for their own safety. Rulebreakers would be punished, no doubt. Beyond the sign, it was noticeable that a barrier had appeared in the water. This sectioned off a part of the lake, where students were allowed to swim. This section was large, creating a makeshift 'swimming pool' within the lake for the students. They were not permitted to go behind the barriers, where the water got far too deep and was too far away from the grounds. Only boats could venture that far.
The large barriers prevented the inflatables that had now appeared near the lake from floating off. These inflatables were available for any of the students to borrow. They ranged from various items like small inflatable balls to inflatables that they could sit on. Students were welcome to borrow them.
Day time pool parties were set up by students whenever they got bored. As long as the sun was out, students were seen enjoying the lakeside breeze or refreshing water.

Swimming in the Lake
Katrina walked towards the lake, she had a new red one piece bathing suit on. She walked towards the water, finally she could swim. This is the first fun thing I have been able to do! I love swimming! Maybe this could be another opportunity to meet new people.
Katrina set down a towel she had been holding and started off towards the lake. There were already a few people swimming. She stepped into the lake and felt the cool water swish below her feet. She sat in the shallow water and appreciated the stillness and quiet of the lake.
She decided to swim and took off into the water. A small silver fish darted below her. Katrina stopped and turned around and started following the fish. This is freedom. If only I was here because I wanted too; not because there was nowhere for me to go.
Katrina found another student and swam over for an introduction. I am getting better at introducing myself. Katrina spoke, “Hi, my name is Katrina. Want to make a game of Marco Polo?”
Katrina stood waiting for an answer and breathed in the cool summer air. The water felt glorious. Summer is finally here!

Swimming in the Lake
Laila walked towards the lake in her green once-piece bathing suit. She could smell the warm summer air. The sun was shining high above her. Even though spring was her favourite season, she still loved summer. Laila sadly had to leave Hogwarts for the summer in August 22nd, so she had to make the most of her remaining time here.
She dropped her towel on the ground, and jumped into the water. When she resurfaced, she started laughing. She swam around in circles. She loved to swim, Laila sometimes went swimming with her dad during the summer, and even though she may not be the best at swimming, she loved it. Laila has never spent a lot of times at the Grounds at Hogwarts and she never really payed any attention to the lake. She wasn't even sure if students were allowed to swim in the lake during the school year.
Laila's muggle friend Alice was always bragging about how she once held her breath underwater for 100 seconds. Ever since Alice said that, Laila has been wanting to beat her. Laila took a deep breath, pinched her nose, and went underwater. 1, 2, 3, 4... Laila counted in her mind. When she reached 30, she could not hold her breath any longer and quickly got to the surface of the water. Laila sighed and wanted to try again, but then she noticed a girl with red hair swimming towards her, "Hi, my name is Katrina. Want to make a game of Marco Polo?” The girl, Katrina said. "Hi Katrina, I'm Lailaflora. And yeah we can play Marco Polo" Laila said smiling. "So, do you want to be Marco or Polo?" Laila asked.

Swimming in the Lake
7 ...
The murky depths of the water -- did she dare open her eyes to see the dark depths of the freshwater lake? Yes, she always wanted to know. The dark haze, the shadowy movement of creatures that moved about her. She stared into the darkness, her hands moving on either side of her and her feet kicked below. Her lungs were starting to burn, hunger for air. She needed to wait just a little bit longer.
6 ...
NOW her lungs begged.
5 ...
No, just a moment longer.
4 ...
Now! Her lungs screamed.
3 ...
We are not that weak.
2 ...
I need to breathe!
1 ...
I need to breathe... They were in agreement. A single downward thrust with both arms, a hard kick with her feet -- Erin shot towards the surface and her head breached the water's surface. A long gasping breath that came out a choking wheeze erupted from the Slytherin youth as she satisfied the burning need. There was no fear (fearless) that accompanied the bodily panic, the instinct to survive and Erin's ability to ride the limit. This was not an expression of self-abuse, this was an expression of self-love. She was going to get stronger.
Her lungs expanded with a desperate hunger.
She ducked back under the water once she got her fill. She would make it five seconds longer this time.

Swimming in the Lake

Although camp was filled with so many activities throughout the day, this was perhaps one of the activities that was ongoing everyday, all day when the sun was out. The raging rays of the sun hitting Bloom's fair skin made her want to go to the lake for a swim or get at least one shade darker in the sun by laying down near the water.
Bloom, wearing her hot pink one-piece bathing suit and black flip flops, made her way to the lake carrying only a pink towel with light green polka dots in her arms. Her hair, tied up in a bun and her side bangs tucked behind her ears the best they could, was blowing in the hot air as she made her way to the lake.
When she got there, there weren't that many people around. There were two students who seemed to be a grade lower than her playing Marco-Polo or at least talking about wanting to play, and that was it from her perspective. Little did she know that Erin Ryan was holding her breath underwater. She hadn't really bumped into her since first year and partially during her second year.
Placing her towel down across the grass, Bloom took off her flip flops and ran towards the lake. She needed to be soaked by the water. It would lessen the sun's rays from her body. Bloom, making sure not to bump into the two second-year-to-be's, jumped into the water at the other side of them and began swimming around, kicking her feet and paddling her arms. Bloom, only able to doggy paddle, made her way to the deep parts of the water rather quickly with all the kicking and paddling she had done.
Changing her position from horizontal to vertical, she began to kick her feet to keep herself up. It was relaxing to be in the water and the fact that it was blocked off from the real depths of the lake made her feel relieved to know the water was safe from creatures and other dangerous beings.

@ Maggie Parker
After Maggie had stolen his tennis ball and ran off with it, Carson had chased her down for a few minutes, and he’d finally caught her after much negotiation and struggle on his part. Long story short, was now condemned to do a dare of Maggie’s choice at any given time. Although he was terrified of the prospect, he decided to try and not think about it. He’d invited Maggie and the rest of her cabin to go to the lake with him, and though Maggie was definitely going to be there, he wasn’t positive on Tatiana or Charlotte. Oliver said he’d be wandering around the camp, so he might end up stumbling upon the group, and Carson wasn’t sure what Dale was doing at the moment. Carson hadn’t even seen Mac since Dragon’s Den and Kelpie Cavern had split up into two cabins, and he was somewhat confused at the fact, but he, again, decided to ignore it. He’d changed into swim trunks right after he’d chased Maggie down, and he now walked down to the lake in navy blue swim trunks that fell right above his knees, a dark gray t-shirt, and adidas slides. He had a towel thrown over his shoulder, and he leaned on the trunk of a nearby tree, waiting for Maggie. He looked at the little number of people at the lake, surprised that there weren’t more people here. Two girls from his year were there, and he thought he recognized the blonde one from his house, and he remembered her name because it was such a unique one— Laliaflora. The other girl in his year had blazing red hair and freckles, and he knew her, her name was Katarina Walker, and he’d exchanged a few owls with her when they’d been putting “Cabin Wars” together. The other two girls there were third years, and Carson didn’t recognize either. One had indigo hair and a somewhat stormy expression, she, if Carson was being honest, seemed somewhat scary in Carson’s opinion. The other girl had her hair tied into a bun, and she was wearing a very bright pink bathing suit. He turned when he heard someone walking up behind him, smiling when he saw Maggie Parker. “What’s up Mags?”

Maggie grinned as she attempted to sneak up on Carson, who was leaning against a tree, waiting for her. She, however, was a Gryffindor for a reason, and being sneaky wasn’t really in the House description. Carson turned around as soon as she got within hearing range, a bright smile on his face. “What’s up Mags?” he asked, grinning at her. He wore navy blue swim trunks and a dark grey shirt, and his hair was as messy and wild as ever. His glasses sat on his nose, and Maggie briefly wondered how he was going to swim with them. Maggie herself was in an old, red, t-shirt with a faded design on the front, which used to be her brother Jason’s, so it fell past her shorts and almost reached her knees. She wore trashy flip flops that did little to protect her feet from the sharp rocks beneath her, but she guessed it was better than being barefoot, right? She grinned at Carson, challenge lighting up in her eyes, “Race you to the lake!” she challenged, laughing as she immediately stripped off her shirt and kicked off her flip flops, running into the lake in a muted red one piece she’d had forever. She splashed loudly into the water, looking back to see Carson running into the water after her.

Swimming in the Lake
Interacting with @Maggie Parker and @Carson Miller
ReducioAnd @Charlotte Cadunt if you decide to join us!
After a quick change into more swim appropriate attire, Tatiana stepped off the boat and into the bright summer sun, making her way along the lake's edge to join her friends. She wore a modest black one piece with an oversized denim button up, unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. Her sunglasses sat atop her head, holding her loose hair back and out of her face, and she carried a small bag on her shoulder and a towel under her arm. A little ways away, she could see several students were already gathered along the shore. Some supplies were set out, she assumed for them, so students could sit on blankets by the lake, maybe have a picnic. But most were already in the water, cooling off from the hot day.
As she approached, she immediately noticed Maggie in her red bathing suit, running into the water- in an apparent race to beat Carson to the lake. She smiled and laughed at the silly Gryffindor girl, always up to something, a glutton for competition. But she did it all in good natured fun, and was always a delightful presence to have around.
Now just at the waters edge, Tatiana set her bag down, laid out her towel, and took a seat on the sandy ground. Kicking off her sandals, she stretched out her legs as far as she could. Her spot was perfect- close enough that she could get her feet wet and bury her toes in the sand, but with her towel just out of reach of the incoming tide. A nice breeze was coming off the lake and she was just in shouting distance of Maggie and Carson. Giving them both a brief wave and smile when they turned toward the shore, she sat back and relaxed. Deciding it was maybe too soon to bury herself in a book, she set her things aside and just enjoyed the feeling of the warm sun against her skin.

Swimming in the Lake
[quote]
”I will be Polo. Let’s see if anyone wants to play too.” Katrina addressed her.
Katrina splashed over and asked other people if they wanted to join. Katrina saw a speckled shell on the lake floor and dove down to grab it. She surfaced again gasping for air and clutched the shell tightly.
Katrina spent the next while yelling Polo. And swimming away from the Marco. She wasn’t sure that Pure-bloods would even know the game, but they caught on fast. She had a blast, but was soon hungry.
Katrina pulled herself from the surf and raced to her towel. She had forgotten about the shell, which she had placed on her towel previously until it fell on her feet. Katrina bent down and grabbed it in one hand- and a picnic basket in the other.
Katrina spread her towel out and sat upon it unpacking her basket, inside lay a sandwich, an apple, a water bottle, and some cookies. Katrina sat in the beating sun enjoying her lunch while watching other student submerge themselves and splash around. She loved to swim, but the water was freezing.
After devouring her lunch, she grabbed some school books and began to read. It may be summer, but she might as well remember all of the material. It might get her ahead. She enjoyed the time in the bright summer sun and then started to plan. Apparently, there were pranks that occurred over the summer, so she dedicated some of her time to imagine great pranks.

Swimming in the Lake
Min-seo smiled as she stood at the edge of the lake, dipping her toes in. She had on a simple pastel yellow one-piece bathing suit with an oversized white graphic tee shirt covering her. It was a beautiful summer's day, the sun shining on her pale skin. She decided to stay at the summer camp for the first session so that she could meet more people. She dug her toes in the sand, holding her white beach towel. She wanted to find someone she knew so that she could say hi. She recognized Tatiana Crane. She had met her at Maggie's Lake Party. Maybe she wouldn't mind if Min talked to her? She saw Maggie Parker and Carson Miller playing in the distance and she smiled. They looked like they were having fun. There were a bunch of other kids playing as well, all in second or third year. She didn't really feel like swimming just yet, so she decided to walk over to Tatiana. She walked over. "Hi, do you mind if I sit here?" she asked timidly. Hopefully she wouldn't mind. What would happen if she did? A bunch of scenarios played through her head of what could go wrong.Interactions: @Tatiana Crane OPEN!
