This is the game werewolf. Interested students have been separated into a total of three teams. This thread represents one such team.
Game 2: [Howl]
1.) Amadea Campbell
2.) Anatole Evans
3.) Eri Windstone
4.) Max Avery
5.) Fainauriel Valtome
6.) Aurelia Bezuidenhout
7.) Emma Hill
8.) December Hale
9.) Ami Procoppio
10.) Midas Jones
11.) Lorelai Brunelle
This is a game of manipulation, psychology and luck. In this game there are several roles that can be played: the Werewolf, the Minion, the Potion-master, the Seer and the Villagers. Each role comes with special responsibilities and potential win scenarios.
The Werewolf: The werewolf will appear to be a regular villager by day, but once night falls they become a ravenous beast that will devour or turn a villager each night. Werewolves have three options that they can perform on the NIGHT TURN, those being KILL, TURN and SPARE. The werewolves (if there is more than one) must agree on what they will do, otherwise the moderator in all of his cruelty will make the choice for you.
The Minion: The minion is human, so would be viewed as a human by a Seer but be a part of the werewolf team. The minion's job is to try to keep their master alive. A Seer would not be able to know where the Minion's allegiance lies. The minion does not get an extra action but they do get a vote and interact with the other villagers. Their victory condition is having the werewolves win, so they will be actively trying to divert votes to innocent villagers. During the DAY ROUND they get to vote with the rest of the villagers and send a potential were to the gallows.
The Potions Master: This role is a wizarding role in a town full of muggles. Able to either save the life of a dying person or prevent lycanthropy from setting in. Once the curse has taken hold, as we well know there is no stopping it but if the Potions Master gets to the right person in time, they will be able to either save their life with a restorative elixir or by filling their wound with liquid silver. This choice takes a lot of luck and a keen perception to determine who the next target might be. They can only "save" one person and must declare this during the NIGHT ROUND before the victim is announced. Pick carefully between elixir and liquid silver. You have no way of knowing if your target was saved by your efforts or not. During the DAY ROUND they get to vote with the rest of the villagers and send a potential were to the gallows.
Seer: Gifted with the power of future sight, a Seer can concentrate on a single villager and find out if they are human or were. They will know nothing else. Such visions come to them in dreams, so they learn this during the NIGHT ROUND. During the DAY ROUND they get to vote with the rest of the villagers and send a potential were to the gallows.
Villagers: Muggles. The most unfortunate member of this setting. Your job is to flush out the werewolf. Unfortunately you will probably not know who is gifted with future-sight (Seer) or who might be a wizard (potions master) because that would make them a target for the werewolves but some might share. Take care, they might be lying. During the DAY ROUND they get to vote with the rest of the villagers and send a potential were to the gallows.
The win condition is as follows:
- Destroy all the werewolves and the villager team wins.
- Destroy enough villagers that there is an even number of villagers and werewolves (or members on the werewolf team) and the werewolf team wins.
Seers, Villagers and Potions Masters are on the Villager Team.
Werewolves and Minions are on the Werewolf Team.

- KILL: Does just that, kills a villager unless the potions-master gives the same player a restorative elixer.
- TURN: This turns a villager into a werewolf starting the next night. This new werewolf is now a part of the werewolf team and would be aware of who the werewolves are. The werewolves can only successfully turn ONE villager throughout the course of the game, so be shrewd with your decision.
- SPARE: You decide to take no lives this round. Perhaps you are trying to confuse your opponents. Make the doctor feel somewhat effective.
The Minion: The minion is human, so would be viewed as a human by a Seer but be a part of the werewolf team. The minion's job is to try to keep their master alive. The Basic Rules:
- You will be notified via owl of your role (Were, Seer, Potions Master, Minion, Villager).
- You are not to reveal OC what your actual role is by showing the communication I have sent you. You can lie, but you cannot show demonstrable proof (that's cheating).
- You are not allowed to reveal your role (Were, Seer, Potions Master, Minion, Villager) if you have been KILLED until the game is over. Let everyone enjoy the game.
- This is considered to be a flood topic, meaning you do not have to post a full 200 words in your post. Your post will be considered in character, so please consider this fact when you interact in this thread.
- You can use a variety of means to coerce, trick, etc. each other. You just cannot provide OC proof of your role.
- Villagers post their vote for who to die in this thread. The were(s) will DM or owl me with their victims. The Seer will owl or DM me their desired target. The potions master will owl or DM me their desired target.
- Those with specialty roles can only do one action per night.

Howl
It starts... an adventure. Well, maybe not an adventure in the conventional sense. The children were fragile and destructive, doing more damage to each other than Solomon could possibly predict. He would have to modify his teaching methods to make sure that they did not kill each other.
That was where this game came from: WEREWOLF. A children's game. A safe game, probably. There was really no knowing with these kids. It was likely someone would still end up with an eye patch or a peg leg and somehow it would be associated with him. Poor Solomon.
The children would gather, split into three teams. He wanted to make sure it was fair, so there was a pattern to his assignment. The first student to arrive was sent to TEAM 1, the second to TEAM 2 and so on, rotating through the trio of teams until there was no more. The prompt, the energetic, the lax and the last moment arrivals all evenly mixed or so he hoped. He did not want to be accused of bias in the matter.
He knew off the bat who was going to get each roll, it was destiny. He would whisper into each student's ear their role. There was no legible proof, only a whispered word and an old man's memory to chronicle what he said.
Villager...
Seer...
Were...
Potions Master...
Even a real potions master had arrived to play. It would be ironic if he was indeed the Potions Master. Same with a student with the surname Wolfe. Would Solomon be so obvious in his choices -- no. But maybe... No. But-- Still No.
Solomon would then reiterate the game. This was a game of discussion, manipulation, courage and persuasion. Something a Slytherin should excel at, but there was no reason that the others could not find a level of proficiency as well.
"We start at daybreak in the small town of Hogwarts. The village was small, full of mostly Muggles, less a few hidden wizard talents. Set in a shady valley near an inland sea, this once peaceful village has been plagued by rumors of werewolves."
Solomon gave the students a sly grin. This was a LARP (live-action roleplay). "What roles do you have in this fine village?" Solomon would ask, gesturing towards a random student to get them started. A baker, a teacher, a plumber, likely something mundane but children had active imaginations so there were likely going to be a few bizarre ones as well.
"Oh my--" Solomon's voice trailed off as some were more detailed than others in their account. Some more common than others. Perhaps even a weird one here and there. With a slight laugh he would continue, for most this was likely their first LARP experience. "Sadly the village as of late has become plagued with rumors and disappearances. Animal attacks some say... but the villagers here know better, it seems to only happen on the full-moon. We have a were in our midst. The full moon will rise tonight, quickly everyone... think about who it might be!"
This is an introduction post as well as a vote post. Everyone is free to vote, even the weres. If there is more than one were in your group, you will know their identity because it has been shared in your owl. For any minions that may or may not exist, you will receive (as I forgot to send it) information regarding who the were is that you assist.
Yes, that means that SOMEONE is not going to last for very long. No worries, play dead in the grass and haunt them through the session (I will keep you entertained I assure you).

Emma had loved playing this game, it was an opportunity to lie without the punishments. It is better to be outside playing the game. The blazing fire added the effect of drama. She had witnessed friendships build and collapse while playing the game. It was a game of deception and social skills. She walked up to the Head of Hufflepuff, she was ecstatic to receive to her very own role.
As the Professor whispered the role into her ear, she tried not to show any form of emotion. She sat down, wondering what surprises were waiting for both her and the others. From that point on, Emma wouldn't be trusting anyone, and she was willing to argue over it. The role bounced around in her head, making sure she was unable to forget, how could she?
The brunette eyed everyone she already had a few suspicions by the unnatural looks on their faces, much like herself. She had sat down in a formal way, placing her hands on her knees as if wearing a dress. She'd never dare be caught wearing a dress 'just because'.
The truth was, she was a pretty good liar. Her mind told herself over and over again not to be killed, that was her main priority. All the roles were extremely interesting, well besides Villager. Two sides argued that the most obvious person must have been the Potions Master, though the other disagreed. The Professor would have never chosen our very own to resemble to a role much similar to his current position at Hogwarts. It seemed so obvious, yet so strange.
Everyone was a suspect, whether if she had the details or not.

Amadea was giddy with excitement. She had never played this game before (nor had she played many other games) but after learning the rules she was quite excited to begin. It would be so exciting to deduct who was the werewolf and everyone else, as well as bluffing about whatever role she did or didn't have.
Looking around at the surrounding members of the game, Amadea recognized a few faces, including one of her best friends. Unfortunately, Amadea was certain that friendship would be no help in this game. All ties were being cut; it was every (wo)man for themselves.
She listened closely as Professor Lear explained the rules of the game again and began giving out roles. She couldn't hear what he was saying to everyone else which was reassuring. She didn't want anyone to listen in on what role she received. When he whispered it to her, she kept her face as straight as possible, giving the surrounding people no hint as to what role she had received. It might be one of her secret weapons, but Amadea knew how to keep a good poker face. That skill would serve her well during this game. Unfortunately, bluffing wasn't high on the list of things she could do. She always became flustered and ended up saying something that didn't make sense, or she just gave things away. Making things up on the spot was difficult for her, especially when everyone else was doing the same.
She continued thinking about her strengths and weaknesses as Professor Lear doled out the rest of the roles. When everyone had received one, the game began. Even though they had barely started, Amadea kept an eye out for any suspicious behavior. In this game, it was guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around.
"I am just an innocent villager," she spoke, leaving everyone with nothing more than a simple sentence. People could assume what they wanted, but she was telling the truth. While she had no special role in the village, she was an inhabitant of it, living out her days in fear of the werewolf.

Werewolf!
Agh, the fabled game! He had heard so much about it but had never played. Deception and trickery (both of which he was sure he would good as fail with) was fascinating and would be fun to play with, but everyone knew Anatole sometimes couldn't lie for his life without sweating nervously or twiddling his thumbs in endless circles. Today would either be a great day to learn how to lie or an even better day to practice what little he already knew.
The young man was never good at persuading, but yet he was easily persuaded. This in itself was not a good combination for playing such an enchanting game where half of the point was to state your case and have people believe it. Thankfully, Anatole was social most of the time.
Well, he would have been especially outgoing this round, but a pair of silvery eyes foiled his plans again. The Potions Professor sat in his game with his sterling hair and almost womanlike figure. It would surely be ironic if Valtome received the role of Potions Master, yes. Keeping in mind that this was only the second time he had encountered the Professor outside of class, it would be pathetic of him to tarnish whatever image he had left from the last encounter.
Oh dear lord, all that and even worse could be said about Mr. Avery.
But much to his liking, it was a live-action role-playing game. In short, that meant that these familiar faces would not judge him for who he was in real life but would only judge his strategy and facade. Facades? Anatole had tried those before in front of Adam. It wasn't too hard!
Staring around the group, there were even some of his friends. Some of the girls he had known even better from the lake were tossed into a group with him. The group as a whole was a mixed bag of enemies, friends, and just plain foreigners. Today was also a good day to make a good impression.
With a resounding voice that sounded oddly like Alexander Cloverfield's impression of Lear in the Discord VC, Lear began to ask around what jobs they all had as villagers of this noble Hamlet of Hogwarts. As it all went around the circle, Anatole (at first struggling to find a plausible job considering the setting) blurted out the first thing that came to his mind: a journalist. "I'm a...uhm...journalist! Yes, a journalist!" Certainly odd, but didn't every town have some sort of newspaper to spread around the gossip of lycanthropy? A character was coming to life slowly but surely. Maybe it wasn't exactly what Lear had in mind, but what was the fun of predictability?
Slowly and surely, the rusty gears inside of Anatole Evans's mind were turning to life, and it showed on the outside with an eager grin...hiding itself moments after because you wouldn't smile if people were to die tomorrow night!

❝Look at them. They could not look more suspicious even if they had neon signs glowing on their foreheads. I trusted none of them, and for good reason. Rumour had spread, and I was just another commoner who took whatever I heard from the town crier at face value. "I am nought but a beggarly old man." What peasant spoke or dressed the way I did? A poor job I was doing of convincing them that I was no more than another hoi polloi fearing for my life. Would they believe me? It mattered not. I pointed the finger of judgement at one [Ami Procoppio], identifying her as the suspect. "Confess. I saw you with my own eyes sneaking along the edge of the village under the dark of nightfall a fortnight ago. You seemed sketchy, but I chose to say nothing. Until now." My gaze was penetrating, yet my tone was sincere. "She is the one we want."❞

Professor Lear explained the rules quite clearly, quite simply, and they began to go around the circle, explaining the job of their villager. Ami wracked her brains for something, something mundane, something simple she could say without sounding like a complete idiot- and she came up with nothing.
Professor Valtome, who was also apparently playing, began to speak, and to the Hufflepuff's surprise, he raised a finger and pointed at her. She raised her eyebrows, as if asking, Me? And to her complete and utter disbelief, the man continued on to accuse her of being a Were. What the hell?
Glaring at the Potions Professor, she bared her teeth at him in an attempt to smile. "Sure I am, I'm such a werewolf." They had barely begun, and she was already being accused of being the were? Totally unfair. "But, as a villager, which I am, I'm a, uh..." What was her mom's job, again? No, that was too complicated. "I'm an organist at the church."
Was she religious? No. Did she know how to play the organ? Vaguely. Was it a good job? Probably not. Did it make sense in a small town, small village that was reminiscent of Bishop's Lacey? Definitely. Did she want to end up dead, like Mr. Collicutt from Flavia de Luce? Decidedly not.

They had sat around and waited for the game to begin. Aurelia was familiar with a handful of them. it was a relief that the professor had explained the rules of the game before it had started. It had been a long time since the brunette ahd pakyed a version of the game. The professor then went around the circle of players and whispered role in to each's year. Who would Aurelia be? A werewolf? A Muggle? A minion? A seer? The professor then whispered into her ear and gave her the role. Aurelia's expression remained stoick. She was excepted into the Hogwarts Drama club for a reason.
The night was dark and cold. Shadows loomed over the village. Creatures roamed, deadly creatures who had darkness as their playground. Someone would be gone once the sun rises. Villagers choose yet again who to hang. There were no friends, only people who could stab with a point of a finger and deliver you to your doom. This was the game of werewolf.
The game began.
"I am a blacksmith. Without me, nobody would have weapons to defend themselves from werewolves." Aurelia picked her character.
Almost immediately, professor valtome pointed to Ami. Aurelia shook her head, and pointed her finger towards Emma Hill. She was a member of the Drama club as well and should be extremely good at hiding her emotions. She could have been assigned one of the speciality role.
"I saw a glint of darkness in your eyes like one of a werewolf as you walked through the village of Hogwarts at Dawn. Is it you who terrorises the town?" She spoke loud enough for everyone in the circle to hear. Everyone was a suspect but only one would be chosen to be killed.
"I put my vote on Emma." Aurelia said confidently afterwards.

Lorelai listened intently as Professor Lear explained the rules of the game. This was going to fun, Lorelai had high hopes for her performance in this game. She had a pretty good feeling about it. Although a thought worse in her head whether or not that feeling was justified. The students (and teacher) began naming their positions as townspeople, and some deciding to accuse students. Valtome chose Ami at once, and Aurelia chose Emma.
Lorelai thought of a pretty normal townsperson career, and choose who she thought was the werewolf, after scanning the familiar and unfamiliar faces of the townspeople.
“I’m the humble owner of the town inn.”She announced to the group. Her eyes moved to one of the boys (Anatole) in the group. “What better a coverup for your bad deeds than a journalist. You control what the newspapers say about the werewolf, you can take the blame away from yourself. Also, that smile seems awfully suspicious...What are you hiding?”
“I put my vote on him” She said pointing to the boy(Anatole).

Emma scoffed at her fellow Drama Club member. She didn't believe she had chosen her just because of her audition, nor her current position. She was being targetted. She had thought whatever had happened was put behind them, but apparently not. Her eyes scanned across the assembly of people, she had played this game before. The general rule was to never kill during the first round, but Aurelia appeared to be demanding her vote.
She began to speak to the group, eyeing everyone as she turned her head counter-clockwise. "I am a farmer, it's not that big of a deal. Eliminating me would just mean one step closer to death for everyone. Think wisely," she concluded her voice faint.
The brunette looked her in the eyes. "Unlike you, I'm going to be the bigger person, I've never heard of the blacksmith role which believes me to think you're one of the weres, perhaps a Minion." She lowered her voice so that the people beside her could only hear, "we all know how that turned out." She recalled the first encounter with her. If they weren't enemies before, they surely were now.
Emma pointed her finger, she was focused on the people that hadn't spoken or talk way too much. She pointed a finger towards a girl which she hadn't yet had the pleasure to meet, she had been so quiet this whole time. "You've been a bit quiet so far, throwing a few suspicious looks. I put my vote on you (Amadea)."
