The Great Tomato War
August 25th, Early Afternoon
War...The scent of it hung on the air. A vile and almost biting stench that forced its horrors onto those poor souls who stepped onto the fields. There was little doubt that many would be lost, desecrated for glory or betrayed by those closest to them. Such was the way of war… It could break the strongest and make the seemingly weakest rise to the heights of a true legend. But were there any who could leave the battlefield unscathed? Could they navigate the chaos and destruction while maintaining their sanity in the face of such horrors?
Sure, it was a war that would be fought with tomatoes and water balloons but Eliseo believed the premise was likely the same. The stakes of a battle were always high. It just so happened that this battle would be waged by the various residents of the mighty Hogwarts. A portion of the grounds had been allocated to host this great and marvelous war of tomatoes and Eliseo doubted that the desecrated ground would ever be the same.
In a grassy area slightly larger than a muggle football pitch, there were a plethora of barrels and baskets spread about holding the day’s ammunition. Some containers were filled with water balloons that had been expertly filled by Eliseo while others were filled to the brim with large tomatoes that were ready to coat their targets in marvelous red goop.
It was to be an anarchic battle. Some might enter the field having some loyalty or alliance with their friends, others might find allies in the pitched battle itself… but who could truly be trusted? Would the temptation to pelt a friend with a ripe tomato, while their back was turned, be too much to ignore? Only time would tell. One thing Eliseo did believe, however, was that any of the adult staff that joined him on the field would likely face a barrage of balloons and tomatoes that should only exist in the nightmares of some tomato crazed villain.
The sun was high in the sky and the day was clear without a hint of clouds. It meant that there would be no cover of darkness. However, to ensure that students and staff had some chance to survive the onslaught, Eliseo had placed several large stacks of wooden crates around the field and a large dirt mound at the center for those who wanted to climb to the pinnacle.
On the southern edge of the field, there was a line of hedges and the ground sloped some which might give attackers a bit of trouble if they tried to storm the hedges. But Eliseo knew that the people of this grand school were hardy people and who knows what could happen when the tomatoes took to the skies.
The borders of the battlefield had been marked by white chalk. Should students need to escape the onslaught of projectiles, they would be able to crawl outside the borders with whatever dignity they had left.
To signal that the time had come, Eliseo moved to the center of the battlefield. Wearing his usual dark overcoat and out-of-date clothing, he lifted a large flag with the school emblem to signal that all combatants could now storm the battlefield for life and glory! La Tomatina de Hogwarts was to begin!

The Great Tomato War

The rules were simple. If you were out on that field, you would get hit. Caradoc's gaze fell upon his colleague's figure off in the distance as the Head of Hufflepuff crossed the line of chalk. The place might not have looked like it yet, but this war was already in full swing. With a large smirk plastered to his face, Doc would quietly walk over to the first barrel he'd get his hands on. His hand reached for a few juicy looking tomatoes and threw one up only to catch it again with the same hand. Rolling the soggy bullet around in the palm of his hand, he trailed a circular path around the Groundskeeper. "Like a sitting duck..." He softly hummed to himself.
Before the other man had any chance of either getting his pretty suit out of the area, or get his own ammo, Caradoc would sprint forward to get closer. A football field was pretty big, he had to get a lot closer to Eliseo before he had any chance to hit. As he got to the spot he had marked in his head, the old badger abruptly broke off his run and launched the tomato with as much strength as he could muster. "Time to play, buddy!"

She looked at him entering the field. The fool. How little he expected for now. Her father thought he was being clever by attacking Professor Cespedes first. And yes, being the first to throw did give you some advantage, but you were a fool not expecting it to come back around almost immediately. Tracing her father's steps, Cassanora would sneak up behind him and grab some tomatoes as well. The old man would never see this coming.
She stayed behind the barrel at first, watching him re-enact his plan. He had to cover a lot of ground to get to his target. That would be her advantage, as it allowed her to stay behind a bit more. She'd end up closer to where the ammunition was stacked, and maybe she could even make a run for cover when retaliation eventually would come.
As far as she could aware, Professor Cespedes was the perfect sitting duck for her father. And in turn, he offered her the perfect distraction. Now running after him, almost taking the exact same steps he had taken across the field, she swung her arm around to get ready. As soon as she figured she had been in reach, she grinned widely and yelled in return to Caradoc's own shout.
"Then take this old man!"

Hjørdis had no intention of getting involved in the Great Tomato War of 2021. She had enough mess in her hair after the Great Paint Wars of 2020 and her beautiful hair had been soaked enough in the Personal Snowball War earlier in the year. Her intention was to stay far away from the field, leaving the entire mess to Eliseo and anyone else who wanted to clean up. But as she walked back towards her cabin to pick up a book to read, she spotted them. The two Brownes, up to no good. Of course. Why would she have expected anything else? Well, the younger one was much more sensible than the older, so perhaps Hjørdis did expect otherwise from Cassanora.
Nonetheless, she could not help but crack a smile as she spotted the young girl grinning. Quickly picking up a water balloon - because she knew how annoying it would be to get tomato out of hair - she eyed up her target. Poor Eliseo was the innocent victim in all of this. Well... maybe not innocent. She was pretty sure he had arranged this event with the sole purpose of pelting tomatoes at little kids but there was no confirming nor denying this accusation. The second option was that crazy Head of Hufflepuff and revenge on him would be incredibly sweet indeed. After all, she would forever want to get revenge on him after what happened during the Great Paint Wars of 2020! He had the audacity to throw paint into her hair and then wipe more paint on her face?! No no no, that was inexcusable.
But her target was neither of those. Instead, it was the girl responsible for commencing the Snowball War of 2021 - which was a regular snowball fight, until Cassanora had the audacity to drag Hjørdis into it. Without a word, she threw the water balloon at the Beauxbatons girl, hoping for revenge. If Cass looked at her or noticed her, she would see Hjørdis sporting a smirk towards her.

Charles was walking past the area when he saw it.
War with water balloons and tomatoes. The chance to throw them at anyone, get revenge on someone you don't like or create memories with friends. Or perhaps both...
The blonde was intrigued and decided to join the fun as he approached, noticing the small group with mainly professors when he saw barrels and containers holding multiple water balloons or juicy tomatoes.
Charles looked around and sort of was hoping Nikita, a fellow Dumstrangs was there just so the blonde could throw a juicy tomatoe at her but sadly she wasn't. The blonde would have enjoyed showing the Dumstrang beater his own inner strength but again she wasn't there. Perhaps there would be another chance he could show the better his own inner strength.
Charles then thought that the rather loud and obnoxious red head; Scarlett Aden would have been a great partner in this game but she wasn't there either.
No matter since the two best people to do this with are Cassie and Drew and they both were absent. The two hold a special place in the Dumstrangs heart as friends and he slightly wished that he saw them a lot more during the camp than he did.
There wasn't even any Dumstrangs to throw a tomatoe or water balloon at. What was he suppose to do for fun now?
Charles eyed the group that was there. A white haired adult who the teen guessed was a professor and while was throwing a water balloon at a student who Charles recognized.
Charles narrowed his eyes at the beauxbatons girl who was the one who kicked him in a certain area that took away some of his pride last year. Granted the blonde did deserve it especially since he was acting like a flirty idiot that day but in the mind of the young Dumstrang he saw a chance of getting some revenge on the girl in the form of a tomato.
However the girl's target caught her eyes as well. The Hogwarts professor who nearly came him detention last year again for a reason that he deserved but wouldn't pay attention to.
Charles had a choice a professor or fellow student. The Dumstrang looked at both and decided that he trusted the aim of the white haired professor far more than he trusted the aim of the beauxbaton girl and someone getting hit twice was better than someone getting hit once.
The blonde stepped to one of the battles holding tomatoes and picked one up, imagining the juice splashing all over the student as a thought popped into his mind.
Shouldn't he force on dodging? Charles rolled over the thought for a moment but decided that dodging was boring and he would have rather hit someone than dodge even if that meant getting hit himself.
Charles held the tomato at the ready and aimed it before firing off a grin toward the beauxbatons girl. The blonde took a step back and threw the tomato.
No one to help you now frenchie
Charles watched his pump tomato fly toward the air and hoped that it would hit the girl but wasn't sure.

The Great Tomato War
Xander had been at the campgrounds for almost the entire month by this point, and it was almost time for him to start his adventures at Hogwarts officially. Xander has had an amazing time by now, making friends the entire month, and now it was time for one of the events he had been waiting for, The Tomato War. Once he had heard of this event, he immediately wanted to take part in it. Who wouldn’t wanna throw tomatoes and water balloons at others and not have any consequences? This event was going to be amazing, and Xander knew it. Xander got to the battlefield and saw how there were tomatoes and water balloons scattered all over the playing area. He saw a bunch of other students and teachers each taking part in the event, and the fact the teachers were taking part in this as well, Xander could tell that this event was going to be an epic one.
Xander quickly ducked down behind a barrel that was holding some tomatoes as he was just able to dodge some tomatoes that were sent flying in his direction. “This is awesome.” He said to himself as he then proceeded to peek out from the side of the barrel to scope out the situation going on around him. He then reached up and grabbed one of the tomatoes in the barrel he had been ducked down behind, and waited for his moment. He then got up from behind the barrel and saw one of the teachers that was taking part in this War. Xander tried his best to creep up behind her as she clearly had her eyes set one someone else, which was good for Xander, at least for now. As she had thrown a water balloon at someone, Xander took this moment and attempted to huck a tomato at the female teacher a few yards in front of him.

The Great Tomato War
Sarah didn’t want to get involved in the ‘tomato war’ which she’d heard being whispered about for the past few weeks. It had been intriguing to begin with, and she liked the idea of throwing a tomato or two at some particularly irritating individuals if she could. It just sounded so messy, even though she was sure it would be more fun in the end. But her hair. And no, the young Slytherin wasn’t prissy about many things, despite her father’s attempts at raising her to be the perfect Pure-Blood wife for years of her life, but her hair was different. She loved her hair, it set her apart from the crowd and took some of the notice away from her family name and blood status for long enough for her to convince people she wasn’t a carbon-copy of her father. She didn’t share his views or values. So, no, she’d been planning on avoiding the ‘war’ like a plague.
But then the afternoon had come, and she saw the first people gathering across the field and a part of her ached as she watched a stray tomato hit the grounds keeper, followed by more softened fruit and water balloons. Everyone was smiling, despite the mess and despite the way they’d all no doubt smell later that evening. She’d never been in a water fight before – never allowed before. Her father would hate to think of his daughter rolling around in a field in the midst of a tomato war. And it was that thought which pushed her to take a few cautious steps onto the field and out of the safety of the tree line she’d been observing from.
She watched as student and teacher alike threw things at one another, noting the blonde girl throwing a tomato at the Head of Hufflepuff and felt a small smile curve her lips upwards. She was about to copy her actions, perhaps team up with the girl, when she saw her own head of house pelt her with a water balloon. Despite not actually being this girl’s ally, she took it as a personal offense and grabbed a balloon of her own – hoping that if she didn’t throw a tomato then the gods might look down on her and not have one thrown at her. somehow she’d come to stand a few feet from the girl, having a perfect view of the white haired professor from here.
Sarah didn’t know her head of house terribly well, had never needed her help for anything personal, though she thought that their first proper interaction probably shouldn’t be Sarah pelting her with a balloon. Still, she’d chosen her target and with a gleeful laugh, she threw it at Jensen’s back. "Oops," She called out through her giggles, trying to hide the smile behind a raised hand. Perhaps civil introductions were overrated anyway. Merlin, she could practically feel her father’s scowl of disapproval – it only spurred her on.

The Great Tomato War
Interacting with @Cassandra Ironwoods
This event was one that Starlee was certainly over the moon about, because really, who didn't want to toss tomatoes and water balloons at your close friends? She put on an outfit that was easy to move in, so she could hopefully dodge the incoming projectiles. While it was mobile, she was a bit concerned about getting tomato all over it. Would it stain? Was there a spell to remove stains from clothing? She would have to bring this up with Professor Fresnel later. She cared the most about her white tennis shoes, which she would do anything ti keep as pristinely white as possible.
Starlee had recruited Cash to come with her, knowing that the older student would also find an immense amount of joy in the game. She waited outside the Augurey cabin, greeting Cash when they finally left. The two chit chatted about possible tactics and who to target as they made their way to the warzone. "I guess the last one standing would be the winner, ey?" she questioned. "Seems its more about what you can take, not how much you get hit." She pondered this for a few moments as the pair continued forward.
When they arrived, she saw quite a few people there already. What she wasn't expecting, however, were the professors that were on the field. The Hufflepuff head of house and her own Slytherin head of house were there, looking ready as ever to launch tomatoes and water balloons at their victims. Starlee would have to save some projectiles for them. Sure, targeting friends was fun, but targeting your professors? Even better.
She turned to Cash and nodded her head as Eliseo waved the flag to commence the war. Starlee grabbed as many tomatoes as she could hold, backpedaling her way away from Cash.
"If you thought I wasn't gonna throw one at you, think again Cash!" She smiled widely at the older student. Mustering what strength she could, she aimed a tomato right at Cash.

The Great Tomato War
So. To sum up Nikita's thoughts plainly: Hogwarts is most definitely up to something. She doesnt know what... they dont seem evil... but she just knows. Indeed she does. She jumps at every sound behind her at this summer camp, she doesnt trust then food. One could see her sniffing anything before she puts it in her mouth.
You couldn't blame her, she stopped trusting this place the second she drank the essence of insanity, which was in her drink. Funny enough, the hosts forgot to tell everyone the drinks were potions. Silly little thing to forget, right? No! They were up to something. She knew it.
As she walked outside, she could hear distant yelling and laughing. Wondering what this could be, she followed the sounds with a slight frown set on her face.
Ah. A... war. It seemed. With tomatoes and water balloons. She could see people throwing these things at each other like monkeys. Nikita huffed. How silly. Who ever would think of encouraging kids to attack each other? But it fit perfectly,
Didn't it. Training students to attack. Sure, with water balloons but the next thing you know those water balloons are replaced by curses. Yes. It made sense, didn't it. The school certainly wanted their students to do the dirty work for them. She walked around the battle scene, not believing it.
She walked past a boy, but noticing that she knew him. @Henry Knight She walked past Charles without realizing it was him, and crossed her arms as she stopped to watch everyone attack each other.
Her eyes settled on an adult... a women with silver/white hair. She worked at Hogwarts, nikita was sure of it. She looked around to see if anyone was watching her. Maybe she would join in for a second or two... get some revenge on Hogwarts. She went to get a water balloon before hesitating. No, she would get a tomato. She looked for the biggest of them all and picked it up. She watched the professor for a moment, figuring out where she needed to aim. Ready. She pulled her arm back and threw the tomato as hard as she possibly could. Dhe hoped it would hit her. And she hoped it would stain.

[Cassie] @Lucia Fox [Charles] @Henry Knight────── ☆ ───────It was Scarlett's first tomato war, and needless to say, she was excited. Anyone who knew her would be surprised to find her unexcited about the prospect of throwing tomatoes and water balloons at other people on a hot summer day. Tomato juice was hardly refreshing, but it was fun, chaotic and messy - which was exactly what Scarlett liked!
So she found herself in the campgrounds of Hogwarts, in a large grassy area. She positioned herself near a basket of ripe tomatoes conveniently and coincidentally near Charles Alluring, her annoying blond frenemy from Durmstrang who Cassie was friends with. One of Scarlett's favourite pastimes was pissing him off and her love of the hobby had only grown when he had been flirting with some random guy instead of his date, Cassie. Though Scarlett acknowledged it hadn't been Charles' fault, she still didn't particularly trust the boy. Scarlett did not trust pretty boys. At all.
Anyway, as soon as the Hogwarts flag was raised to signal the start of the game, Scarlett grabbed a nice squishy tomato and took her aim. Normally, she would've gone for Professor Jensen or Professor Browne, but grudges over entertainment right? Anyway, Scarlett took aim at Charles' unsuspecting face and fired.────── ☆ ───────
