The Shovel Revolution: Digging Each Other's Graves
@Aurora Ranvier15/6/2021 outfit When Violet entered the Great Hall for breakfast and the owl post arrived, she wasn't surprised to receive a letter from her parents. It was clearly addressed to her, her full name written gracefully on the envelope, "Violet Naomi Caroline Carrington". She decided to open the letter later, because she was already pretty sure about what it was going to say, and peacefully finished her breakfast instead.
After finishing her breakfast, she went to the classes she had to go to, following her daily routine, except that she did not open the letter from her parents. she kept looking at it and postponing reading it for later, and later until she went to the billboard and read that there was going to be a shoveling errand which gave her money and house points. As much as she disliked shoveling and garden work, she knew that money and house points were a good price in exchange, and it might just be fun if she was prepared for it.
Dressing in her worst clothes that in her opinion could get dirty and she wouldn't mind, she took a picnic basket and filled it with food and drinks such as apples, sandwiches, and the usual fresh picnic foods for herself. Making a ponytail with her hair, she ran to the campgrounds, took a shovel, and looked at the ground. After letting out a big sigh and took the letter, opening it and reading its contents. It was the usual mother-to-daughter letter, asking Violet how she was doing at school, etc, but since the Slytherin wasn't very interested in what she was going to reply to her mum, she left the letter on top of the picnic basket and decided to start shoveling.

A new day, a new errand. This time, it was dirt related. Though, Aurora was not the type of person who obsessed with plants and gardening, she does enjoy the activity either to kill the time or just do it for the sake of being active. But, her main reason why she signed up for the ground keeper’s errand solely because she will have the opportunity to make some destruction of Hogwarts’ property legally. The young eagle changed her clothes to something casual, with an army green jeans overall, a black shoe, she tied up her hair in a bun with a blue ribbon scrunchie and was ready to make a mess.
Excitedly ran towards the campground, and greet the groundkeeper (if he was there). “H-hi, I’m here for the- uh- shovelling?” What was shovelling anyway? Nevermind. It was not the first time Aurora meet him, she did see him dressed up as a monster moss at the bonfire months ago. The feeling of worry finally goes away as she saw some digging tools that Mr Cespedes kindly prepared for the students. She brought a spoon inside her pocket just in case they need to bring their own tools, but she would probably finish the digging with some wrinkles, a cane, and white hairs, maybe with some grand children that will annoy her most of the time. There was no doubt that Aurora will be the typical grumpy granny and will scare people by telling everyone that she is a hag. The Ravenclaw took the big shovel that was almost as long as her miniature height with a little bit of struggle, but finally managed to bring it to the spot she wanted to dig after a couple of minutes. How big should the hole be? Aurora did not completely understand the purpose of the digging activity, her way too bright brain thought Hogwarts will finally build its own cemetery considering how dangerous the school has become. Or perhaps a magical chocolate garden that will grow unlimited delicious and creamy chocolate bars every single day. What a heaven on earth, that was too good to be true.
Although Aurora is a beater for the Ravenclaw quidditch team, her first year self has zero muscle, let alone any strength. Her stamina was only used for searching for chocolate bars somewehre inside her trunk and scream at the opposing quidditch team. One dig, two digs, made her realise that digging was not a fun thing to do. In all honesty, she was not really fond of any physical activity except Quidditch. Yes, she loved to be outdoor all the time, but she will try to steer clear from anything that will make her shower in her own sweat. At the campground, not too far from where the Ravenclaw stood, there was another girl who did the exact same thing. The ‘glaring way too much’ girl. Aurora was entirely astonished by the fact that Slytherin girl still had her eyes intact inside her eye sockets. They met at the scrimmage a while ago as a part of the losing team, of course. Maybe the Hollythorn lost because of Carrington’s excessive glaring that made the quaffle scared of her. Not to mention, she also threw her heel at Aurora’s third cousin at the blossom ball. That made the young girl like that particular Slytherin 40% less than before, so she decided to ignore Carrington’s entire existence, at least for now.
Digging the ground was the most boring thing she ever did. Aurora sighed and look around the campground. Then, an abandoned picnic basket, no, the letter on top of the basket caught her attention.“Naomi?”Of course, she did not read the full name, after almost a year not seeing her childhood best friend made her sad even just reading the name in such a random place. The first thought that appeared in her brain was to take it and read the name closely, who knew it was actually the real Naomi.

The Shovel Revolution: Digging Each Other's Graves
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇The way of using a shovel was unknown to Violet, for she had never held such an object that provided fieldwork help, and that didn't exclude the heavy object she was holding at that moment. She clutched the instrument, and almost hurt her foot whilst trying to learn how to maneuver it. Tired of trying to learn this, she gave up and turned around to reward her hard work while unscrolling the flask of water that she so wanted to drink.
Too concentrated in her small rest before going back to work, she barely noticed @Aurora Ranvier, or the so known as chocolate obsessed, hard bonking, unsociallized Ravenclaw come towards her from behind. The Slytherin had absolutely no idea about what she was being named in the Ravenclaw's head, didn't even dare think about it ~ why would she say anything about her, Violet Carrington, a studious, polite and civilized child? Thought even with her glamourous traces of her personality, Violet had to admit that the encounter at the Quiddich Scrimmage had not been the best, recalling the glares and shouts from each team.
The mention of one of her forenames made her curious. She turned around, giving the Ravenclaw another of her infamous eye rolls and glares. "What can I do for you Ranvier?" she demanded, her tone cold and sharp. "Better not call me by that name, only my mum is allowed to do that." she threatened the Ravenclaw once again. The use of the name "Naomi" at Hogwarts on her wasn't common at all, in fact she had never heard it since she entered the Hogwarts Express on her way to the school. The Ravenclaw beater had to explain why she was calling her that. And immediately before she would throw the flask of water and tuna sandwitch on Aurora and wouldn't regret it. Nobody except her parents had the right to call her by her forenames, surnames or first names were preferrable in that case. .290+330= 600+◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

What an utter despair. Naomi, the best friend anyone could ever ask for was indeed, not getting accepted as another muggle born in Hogwarts. Instead, it was a different Naomi, and to make it even worse, the glaring girl had the audacity to claim the name of the sweetest person in the world as her name. It was such a dishonour of all Naomis in the world. The meaning of the name itself is pleasant or beauty, and this Slytherin girl was rotten to the core with her uncontrollable temper and excessive attempt of pushing her eyes out of their sockets. “Na-Naomi is your name, Darlington?-“ Even though the Ravenclaw will never forget people’s faces, she did not particularly excel at remembering names, that was one of the reasons she made her own version of nicknames for those she met. Despite the lack of remembering names skill, Aurora would play it cool and acted like she was doing it on purpose, “-Harrington? Hamilton?” Her eyebrows furrowed together, one of her hands reached for the shovel that once on the ground while maintaining the most aggressive eye contact she ever made with anyone besides her step father.
If anyone thought Aurora will straight up do something violent with her shovel, they guessed wrong. There was no way she would do something that will hurt someone, not even Violet, at least not on the school ground. Anger was like a cup of coffee, it gives the short stature kid energy and motivation to do the work. She continued to dig her unfinished hole at the speed of light. Dirt was thrown in every direction, making it looked like chocolate powder rain, intentionally hitting the rude Slytherin while getting them all over her own self as well. “You have absolutely no right to claim that name you- “ paused for a while as she thought about a nice insulting nickname for her new enemy in the making, “- you revolting purple snake!”
The only time she would break eye contact was her checking how deep the hole was. Though, it was not the neatest, most perfect circular shaped hole, but it was enough to put at least one person, chess deep, with only their head sticking out from the ground. “Choose another name, Wellington!” With her entire strength and determination, the furious bird grabbed the other girl, and if successful, would drag her down the hole and put back the dirt to its place, with the Slytherin in it. But she will make sure the glaring girl’s head is on the surface, not for her to breathe, but for Aurora to make fun of her.

@Aurora RanvierWas Ranvier mental? Did she need some special assistance to check that little crazy brain of hers? And why in the world was Violet being called Darlington? Was it that Aurora's small brain couldn't possibly process a simple surname like the Slytherin's, or that she was doing it on purpose. The brunette raised her eyebrows and looked at the Ravenclaw, unammused. ''My parent's gave me that name, Ranvier. Just like yours gave you Aurora. Now leave me alone, I have to finish digging this up to get my sickles~'' she said, at first making the action to take the shovel and continue trying to solve how to dig, but then when the annoying bird continued to change her surname, she glared at her, furious. ''Carrington, Ranvier, Carrington! Now leave me alone before I hex the hell out of you.''
When Ranvier looked at her agressively, Violet pursed her lips togheter, now wondering whether it would be better to fight - or to run away. She gave the Ravenclaw a suspicious glance, and was now clutching her shovel as tightly as ever, prepared for anything. When Ranvier took her shovel, Violet's first reaction was to raise her own into the air, but then the Ravenclaw started to do something unexpected - dig a hole on the ground, while muttering something that she - Violet - had no right to claim the name Naomi. The Slytherin was shocked, and was looking at the other girl, surprised, while waving her arms around to avoid the rain of dirt that Ranvier was throwing all around. ''I-I didn't claim the name...my mum did, how the hell would I choose my name, if i was just a BABY when it was given to me? A BABY!''
Now was when Violet was starting to get mad at Ranvier. The girl had, clearly, been sorted into the wrong house. If Violet would have been the sorting hat, and there was a Hogwats house for dumb kids, she would have immediately dumped the chocolate obsessed brunette into that house. It was clear that Ranvier did not have an ounce of rational thinking, and Violet was, to be honest, pretty amused to see this scene.
Before Violet could shoot another cold and snarky comment at Ranvier, she was getting pushed into the hole - that is to say, grave - that Ranvier had dug on so fast, faceplanting into the mud. Her first words before being pushed were 'AHHHHHH', and she was now feeling so...so humiliated by the dumb, ugly, crazy, chocolate obsessed Ravenclaw. ''Gosh darn it, you idiot, fuck you!!!!'' Violet said, her face red as a beet. She took out her wand, and was prepared to shoot any spell right at her, in her freaking face. The first thing that came to her mind was, ''Flipendo!'', since Aurora had pushed Violet first, she was now going to push her with a spell. And, well, not dig a grave for her, since she still did not know how to use a shovel, but probably try to hex or jinx her in the process of the fight.

Hate. Such a strong word to say without any underlying reasoning on how and why. Not much encounter had been done in the past few months, but each one of them was always unpleasant. One was the fire while the other was the fuse, the incredibly short one. Although it is not impossible for them to find the middle ground, something they could relate to, the chance it would be a toxic friendship rather than the healthy one is higher. The talent to expertise in silent judging doesn’t really run in her gene, but she considered it as the other’s problem rather than hers since they made her urging to say what ‘needed’ to be said. But this time, it might be something else. Something that slowly leads to how she was feeling towards the Slytherin. Lately, the Ravenclaw was a little more resentful and jealous than usual to certain people. This was not the first time she acted like a lunatic, no one could argue on that. Sometimes an admiration could come out as envy. As our insecurities showing their faces on the surface, it became an addiction to pick on others, keep them under, or boil their blood.
An excuse. Naomi was not the real issue all along, as well as the flying heel situation. Those were just a cover up to make her action make sense in her brain. However, two stubborn people in the same room is like forcing hungry lions to share a piece of meat. “I chose my own name! YEAH! I COULD TALK THE SECOND I WAS BORN!” More moronic explanation after another. Though, her own action took her by surprise. Yes, she did the bonking back in the scrimmage, but it did not cause any injury. Falling onto the ground in a faceplant position must have been hurt, both physically and mentally, especially if there were some rocks and other hard stuff besides muds. Aurora was not the type of person who swears. As a matter of fact, she never verbally saying out loud any curse word and she hated hearing it coming out from anyone’s mouth. “PUT THOSE SICKLES TO THE SWEAR JA-“
And there she goes, flew backwards, as if something pushed her on the chest in a fast motion. It was messy, not only her clothes, hair, face, but also their entire relationship with each other. Violet was indeed, good at magic, better than how the girl expected. Laying still on the ground, surrounded by dirt and patches of grass. “Dear the wizarding gods-” her heart beat faster, still a bit shocked by the sudden spell cast, “-am I dead yet?” Slowly raised one of her hands in front of her face, checking the transparency, but of course, Aurora was alive and ready to kick some more. Using her arms as the support, checking how far her enemy was. “I- I will give you one more chance, Glarrington.” To be honest, her body was a bit sore. She would do a little bit of stretch out right after she gets back on her feet. “Change it or you will never stop sneezing for the rest of your existence. You heard me right, your entire existence, that means, if you decided to be a ghost, you will keep sneezing, you sneezing ghost!”

@Aurora Ranvier''Wh- talk the second you were born? What are you, doted with supreme intelligence?'' Violet said, her face as red as a tomato. ''That is just idiotic! Even I have to admit that my vocabulary when I was born was nonexistent.'' Violet thumped her foot on the floor, herhands were fists, as the right one grasped her wand with a strong grip. Really, Ranvier was horrible. There was thousands of Naomi's in the world, and she decided to put the blame on her? Mental, that was what she was.
'' I have the right to swear!'' Violet said, coming out of the hole that Aurora had pushed her into. Finally free from Aurora's clutches, she pointed her wand at Aurora, attempting for the Ravenclaw to stay away from her. ''you're just crazy- What the hell have I done to you?'' nothing, nothing was what Violet had done. The blossom ball, a chaotic event in which she had been, being set on fire and landing sneezing, most of the time. When this had happened, Violet was sure that her negativity towards Aurora was going to increase.
''For you're information.'' Violet said, rolling her eyes. ''Firstly, you aren't dead, but you're brain is already rotting. And secondly, there aren't any wizarding deities that I know of.''
''Do NOT call me Glarrington ever again.'' Violet, glaring at Aurora once again. ''I dare you to make me sneeze once more, I dare you. Unless you don't want to be set on fire.''

Did Violet just call Aurora a human with supreme intelligence? Surely she did not, but in the Ravenclaw's brain, she did. And it made her ego raised to the moon and the Saturn. To be fair, the Slytherin's reaction was normal for someone who got harassed out of the blue by a lunatic from the house of the birds. Despite being sorted in Ravenclaw, the girl did not really have the starter pack. If anything, Aurora was quite the opposite of the house's characteristic. Perhaps the sorting hat mistook her for someone else, or maybe someone cast the tongue tying curse on the poor old dusty hat and instead of saying 'I'D RATHER NOT SORT YOU ANYWHERE' it said 'RAVENCLAW'. Looking at her outstanding behaviour in just the first year of her Hogwarts time, it might be possible for that to happen in the past.
Gripping her wand tightly, this was time for an act of revenge. "Rotting? The only thing that is rotting is your face and entire personality dear the purple version of Oompa Loompa!" Was not really sure the pureblood knew what Oompa Loompa is, Aurora could lie to her and say they were the most beautiful creature ever existed on earth. "Well, one of the wizarding deities is standing right in front of your eyes!" She did not just call herself a God. As a joke, of course, but her tone said otherwise. Oh yes, what could be better than making her flip like an acrobat? The young eagle wanted to cast something fun yet torturing. Not causing lots of damage yet would embarrass her enemy. On second thought, a lot of damage would have been sweet if it could hit Violet. How dare she threaten to burn me? Unbelievable. “OH, PLEASE SUFFER YOU GLARING PEPE!”Aurora was ready. A wand on her hand, pointed at the Slytherin's face, “SLUGULUS ERUC- AH!” As she was about to do what will be her signature spell, the girl tripped on her own feet. As silly as it may sound, it was pretty foolish, there was no way to deny it. Karma was real, and it kicked her arse hard. Then she felt this peculiar uncomfortable feeling on her stomach, the same feeling when you were about to throw up. And that was the time she realised that the spell backfired. "Oh n-". Slimy, revolting, sickening. One slug, two slugs, three slugs, along with their bogeys came out of her mouth. And to make it even worse, they were alive.Aurora's Wisdom (WDC 11)

@Aurora Ranvier"Rotting? The only thing that is rotting is your face and entire personality dear the purple version of Oompa Loompa!"
'' First of all,'' Violet said, pointing at the crazy girl's chest. '' Do NOT call me an Oompa Poompa or whatever that is, because it sounds INSULTING.'' her eyes screamed do you want to die?! And so did her glare. '' UGH, you are so horrible Ranvier, once again I tell you, I did not choose the name, my mum did! Go and dig her a grave for her, not for me!! to be honest, Violet would not care if Aurora dug a grave for her mother, for in her opinion she, Violet, was better off without her.
"Well, one of the wizarding deities is standing right in front of your eyes!"
'' If you would have been one, or are anyways, you would probably control your idiotic temper!'' Violet screamed at the top of her lungs and made an attempt to push Aurora to the ground. However, before she could act, Aurora screamed in the most powerful way and did something that Violet would have never done- unless it had been completely necessary of course.
Pointing her wand at Violet, Aurora said something - or maybe screamed, she did not know - at Violet and a flash of light came from the wand, and Violet immediately knew something was wrong. The next moment Violet opened her eyes as she was sitting on the ground, her clothes already dirty. Immediately, Violet scurried the most far away she could from Aurora, without falling into the grave the Ravenclaw had dug a few minutes ago. ''What the-''
Violet clearly knew what was happening. But it was impossible and disgusting to think that Aurora was going to cast the slug vomiting charm at her. ''Why really! You are so- so foolish!'' Violet glared at Aurora and approached the Ravenclaw only to slap her in the face. She needed a lesson, after all. ''Don't you know what Karma is?!''

Chewy and slimy. It was similar to the consistency of snake jellies but combined with snot. Quite disgusting if you ask anyone who witness the puking action of the young girl. Apparently, not so much for Aurora. As the slugs kept on coming, she poked one of them lightly with her finger and she came to the conclusion that the creatures were cute. Is it possible to keep them as pets? If she could, the Ravenclaw tower would be filled with slugs. Everyone might as well kick her out of the dorm, no other houses would accept her and that’s for sure. If the situation had been different, Aurora would do some amateur scientific research about the naked snails. But there was an ugly snake monster that she needed to move back to its natural habitat, which was hell. The deepest part of hell. How was it possible for the Slytherin to not know anything about the magnificent short orange people? Violet was a pureblood. The only thing that was pure inside her blood was expired strawberry jam from a century ago. “Oh, you don’t know what Oompa Loompa is? Really?” A mischievous thought slipped in her mind. Maybe it will be fun to fool the so called ‘pure’ about how things are working in the muggle world. Would be amazing to see them scream at a vending machine to get some snacks or soft drinks.
“First of all, it is not an insult, and se-“ An adorable slug came out from her mouth. “-second of all, Oompa Loompa is how muggles call a beautiful model! Because you are- uh- Bea-Oompa Loompa!” Admittedly, Violet was not a terrible looking girl, nor she was revolting to look at. She couldn’t bring herself to say that word, however. It made her gag, as another slug jumped out her mouth once again. What a familiar name. Karma, who could that be? She was pretty sure the headmaster of Hogwarts’ name didn’t start with the letter K. In her small brain and Ravenclaw wit, it must be someone from the purple person family. Probably someone who had a high authority that could put her into the wizarding jail for harassing their Carrington princess. Not that Violet was a princess, obviously. Nothing was royal about that girl. Despite her fancy attire, she held a strong barbarian vibe. “WH-WHO IS KARMA?” The slug made her paused for a bit, “IS IT YOUR MOTHER?”
