Alan was confused he had just arrived and even asked for what was going on. Well maybe he did not notice that there were people fighting, but he was not a seer or ssomething like that. Should he have noticed the fight and tried to stop it though? The girl pushed something into his hands and he nearly dropped it in surprise, before he was ale to get a hold on what he supposed was pizza, just from the smell from it.

He looked down and noticed that it indeed was a box of pizza that the brunette had pushed into his hold before she herself intervened with whatever was going on around the others. While the other were busy fighting he could see the book in the water, that the girl had involuntarily dropped into the Great lake and it was the same girl that had been so sensitive when she just dropped the book onto the ground because of him. It didn't even bend the cover or anything but the book must be important to the girl, so while the other people tried to intervene with the people, he stepped to the lake. In one hand he was holding the slice of pizza on a plate and with the other he was trying to retrieve the wand from the holster.

When he got a hold of it he took it out and gave a swish and flick while muttering the words, ”Wingardium Leviosa”[Roll 19] and it was a success, more than that. Alan seemed to actually have some control over the spell as he raised his arm, the one holding the wand, while his eyes never left the object. But keeping the book steady was a problem as Alan soon noticed his control over the spell was decreasing [roll 1] so he quickly swished his hands to not let the book drop into the lake once again.

However now it was threatening to drop to the ground, making the young Gryffindor groan in frustration as he attempted to leap towards the object and catch it safely, which his agility and reflexes allowed him to do, as he caught the book before dropping it to the ground. He was holding the book in both of his hands, safely and hoped the water did not too much damage.

...wait both?

Alan looked at his hands, his hands clutching the book and his wand. Alan then looked to the ground where he was standing a few feet away from the Lake with the slice of pizza dropped to the floor, where he dropped in order to catch the book. Heat rose into his face as he looked at the group of Slytherins and the Hufflepuff, hoping she would not be mad at him that he dropped the pizza but he did not want the book to be ruined completely either. Gladly the Pizza was within a box meaning it would not be that bad, maybe a bit of the cheese slid off but the Pizza box seemed fine and the lid did not open, so Alan quickly picked it up, feeling bad nonetheless.

He winced as the older student hit the ground.

Glen hung his head and sighed. Why, oh, why did he had to get dragged out of the common room by his conscience? He should've just stayed put and enjoyed a quiet evening – and damn the consequences. But no, he had listen to his (obviously, possibly misplaced) sense of duty and make an attempt on attending that stupid waste of an event. And he hadn't even made it there and still, trouble found him.

He slouched. He didn't want to deal with this. But he probably would have to get involved now. Maybe if he threatened them with some punishment, that would be enough? He didn't want to report them or assign anything... after all, he wasn't exactly supposed to be here either.

Not that he wasn't allowed here, no, it was nowhere near curfew yet, but still. He didn't mind his prefect work but he just wanted to chill. He should've just bounced as soon as he heard angry or desperate yells in between the playful ones. But now it was too late, wasn't it?

Had the former prefect (if he'd been right about that) girl waved at him to catch his attention to what was going on? If so, he really couldn't just walk away, could he? And even if she didn't – maybe she waved to the boy sitting somewhere in between – that didn't really change anything.

Splash.

He whipped his head toward the sound of something hitting the water. Did the guy throw something into the lake?? Oh no, was that a book? Merlin, please don't be a Library book.He shook his head at himself. Not the point, he reminded himself.

He stared at the scene in horror as it devolved into a full-on fight. He froze as the older boy attacked his classmate in retaliation and was in turn attacked by the girl that had come running after him.

Oh, bloody hell.

Glen decided to get a grip and grumbled to himself, annoyed. Then he shook off his reluctance and made his way over to intervene, even if the second girl seemed to already be trying to defuse the situation.

Interaction: Thomas Lestrange
The lukewarm butter beer filled his belly. Most might consider warm and slightly stale beer a turn off, but Howard wouldn’t know any different. Give it a few more years. The sweet liquid sent a feeling of warmth through his body, his head growing a little fuzzy. He felt calm, something he rarely was these days. As he polished off the second bottle, he let his arms fall to his side, the empty beer falling from his fingertips into the water, floating away behind him. He tilted his head to the sky and closed his eyes, reveling in this moment of quiet peacefulness. Nothing good lasts.

“Hey you!” A girl’s voice would carry across the water. Howard’s eyes opened a little slow. A group of older students were near by, further out in the water. “If you can have our beer, you can join us. C’mon dude! Kelli thinks your cuuuute!” Howard would not respond verbally. His right hand would raise into a rather rude gesture. Movement behind him would draw his attention.

”DUDE, Howard, YES.”

Dear god! It was none other than Thomas Lestrange. Their interactions together had been largely influenced by rage and violence, but tonight the boy approached with a rather silly expression on his face. His usual brooding replaced with a dumb smile. Howard spotted a butter beer in his hand, obviously not his first.

”Hold my beer.” Thomas held it out as he passed, barely giving Howard a second to react. The bottle would slip from his hand, crashing to the ground.

“Thomas! What the hell man. What a waste.”

The other boy barely seemed to notice as he quickly waded out to waist deep water. His silly expression turned to one of immense relief. One that any man might recognize.

“Dude! Are you takin a piss! Don’t look at me. Turn around you git!”

Speaks of Donnovan Pennywrinkle, Serena Towers and Alan Vanes

As the lights and music of the Dancefloor faded out, Nico took her time to make her way to the Lake. It wasn't anything new. She had come here before for sketching and drawing. The scene was breathtaking. Except she had never been out here after dark. Well, only to give two students detention who had started a fire on the shore.

Nico breathed in deeply, Pip did the same. He liked to mimmic her. It was a way for him to get to know her better and better. As the Slytherin did so, she stretched out her arms, reaching for the sky. The evening was still young. Anything was possible. She shook her head slowely as she threw her arms down again. Even to her that sounded cheesy.

On her way down, voices echoed from the distance. Apparantly a whole lot of students already decided to spend their evening/night here. Pip snarled softly, his fluffy poofing up immensely. Her hand gently stroked his back. It was Pips first time out and immediately he had to handle her panic attacks and strangers.

'It's okey, Pip. We'll be okey.' She scratched the back of his head. 'Especially now you're here.' He squeeked happily.

Arriving at the source of the voices, Nico carefully scanned the area. She saw some familiar faces: two kids she gave detention too for example. The Huffelpuff was screaming:''...prick-Goddamn kid! Kaegen! He injured me! He injured so many others! He-why!?"

Nico had already stopped in her tracks, standing out of sight, a perfect spot to observe the others. Hearing the Ravenclaws name drop, made her stomach curl. She did hear something about an incident in the abandoned toilets, but for some reason she tried to ... refuse that happened. He probably had a reason.. Is how she justified his actions.

She couldn't bear to hear them discuss him. On the other hand she felt the need to defend the Ravenclaw but on the other hand she felt no need to pull any unwanted attention. Whatever happened, happened. No body can change it.

Pip rubbed Nico's cheek. 'S-Sorry, I was slipping again weren't I?' She ruffled his furr and walked passed the exceptionally loud gossiping group. Maybe there were some students she actually knew around here.

Nico noticed a group with some more familiar faces, the good kind. It was kinda getting darker but she thought she could see Serena and... Alan? The Slytherin hid behind a tree, to observe the scene. She wasn't entirely sure how to approach them at this point.

He grinned down at Rowan and walked a bit further into the water to where it was to his hips. Miko had his signature mischievous grin on which made it clear he was planning something. Whether that something be fun or maybe a bit not for some people was unclear but he definitely was planning something.

Miko was happy he wasn't carrying Rowan wrong or uncomfortably, that was good. His grin stayed but it faltered a bit. "I s'pose I could teach ye how ta swim, aye?" Teaching someone seemed to give his eyes a little sparkle and that was when his mischief began.

The Hufflepuff let go of Rowan for a split second but caught him right before he could touch the water. Clearly that wasn't the only thing he was planning because his sly grin was still there, oh the Gryffindor would be in for a surprise.

Yes! The females' name was Celynne! Finally he got it. He remembered when he met her first, it was quite fun because he felt in charge finally which he clearly wasn't. As any child he was never in charge, that's what his parents did. That was their job, not his which got annoying sometimes. Miko was controlled mainly by his brother and his step-dad, his biological father was really laid back and let Miko do what he pleased as long as it was safe which it mostly was. Of course the Hufflepuff got into a bit of mischief often but it was never dangerous, well not that dangerous anyway. Besides, you never get anything done if you stay inside your comfort zone, right? Especially in sports that's just how it goes.

Donny sat there, his face red and ready to snap at any moment. Then he saw a girl with long red curs bouncing over to to the trio to try and talk. He answered her question, "Your not bothering much except my rant about-stupid little..." he trailed off with another session of, "Screaming with Donny", truthful, but a little too truthful words spitting out of his mouth like a wild cat. He turned over, his arms folded in a pouting sort of motion when he saw that stupid Slytherin prefect That'd given Ruka and himself a detention for trying to save Ruka's damn life! He walked over, ignoring Ruka's grip. He had a few things he'd been wanting to say to Ms. Prefect, and it was time for her to learn a thing or two.

"Snooping around as usual again are you? Looking for another pair of meek 'ickle first years to give detention are you?" he asked, prodding his fingers expectantly on his elbows, a devilish frown upon his face. He didn't wait for a smart remark before stating, "I think you should keep your greasy nose out of peoples business for a change! Maybe settle down once and a while eh'? Take a break and just PISS OFF because I'm tired along with the rest of everyone here, of your lousy, stupid, arrogant--AUTHORITARIAN remarks, before little Ms. Slytherin gets a taste of her own medicine!" he said finally, a small voice telling him to stop what he was doing but he just couldn't...

Its been a while since the last time Alex got out on a nice walk, too long in fact. All his time spent on burring his head into books or trying to catch up with Erin's constant shenanigans. He however didn't hear the news about the dance, it must have slipped him, much like so many other things lately. The cool breeze of the evening night brushing through his robes would sometimes cause the collar to stick to his face, it was too loose to his liking, but he'd occasionally brush it back off. He could see light in the distance, various lights in fact, alternating in color far away from the castle.

"That's odd, is there a party of some sort out there? Might as well check it out"

The thought occurred to him for a brief moment, it didn't take him long to realize that he was already heading that way, as if his legs had a mind of their own. The scenery was definitely something else, there was quite a bit of chatter, but no familiar faces. He would walk through the crowd which at first glance were typical for those kinds of events, but something caught his attention. A voice louder than most, somewhere up ahead. He started picking his pace and the blond kid found the source. It was one of those Hufflepuff kids yelling at someone, he couldn't immediately see who it was, the huffle blocked the view.

"Man, look at him go, whatever it is they did, that's a bit excessive, better put a stop to it before it gets out of hand"

He started to go around the kid, and it appears that the victim is a Slytherin girl. Kinda pretty too. He didn't get a good look at the Hufflepuff though, not yet, but without realizing his arm was already extended to the kid, attempting to grip his shoulder and violently yank it towards him to force the kid to face Alex.

"Hey there bud, your voice gives me a headache, mind dropping those tones for me?"

He was talking without thinking, he was smiling but it was clearly fake, more of a curtsy for a stranger picking on another. Maybe some of Erin's violent personality rubbed off on him, maybe he just wanted to help the Slytherin escape the abuse, but surely he dislikes the rubbish this kid was spewing most of all.

Donny was about to blow on this kid when--something strange started happening to him, like he was coming back into focus. It had been two hours of yelling and complaining restlessly, as anger surged through him, he still felt a sense of awareness. He pulled back awkwardly, breathing rapidly, his heart soon coming to an abrupt halt. He looked back at his friends, they seemed to feel weird too. It was something in the punch... he thought. "I-I, who are you?" he asked the boy in front of him. He looked like he meant no harm, so why was Donny so mad? He then looked over at an angry and startled Prefect, one he remembered, and a frozen River Dewlight. "What? H-have we all witnessed a Basilisk or something? I'm confused?" he said, standing back and scanning his surroundings.

The atmosphere seemed to freeze around him, his voice was echoing through the lake. "I-Ruka? Jade? Er...I'm sorry but, I think someone should tell me what is going on?" he asked around, feeling very alone and on the spot. He blushed quite noticeably, shuffling his feet and lowering his head. For a few seconds the ground seemed to be the most interesting thing that was happening at the moment-- the grass blowing slightly, the water rippling against the rocks when he turned and the birds flying off and away from the trees...

Ruka is affected by Veritaserum
As Ruka slowly recovered from his momentary nausea, he felt his head spinning, his senses numbed, his urge to spit out all of his secrets even stronger.
He looked down on himself, at his too long shirt, his baggy trousers, the shoes that he was slipping around in. "Horrible," he muttered to himself, shaking his head before he turned his attention back on Donny.
His best friend, however, had focused on someone completely different: It was the Slytherin Prefect that had given them detention after their adventure on the lake, and Donny was clearly about to rant out his frustrations on her. It was no use gripping his arm to hold him back because Donny just shook him off, and all Ruka could do was rush after him to make sure he wouldn't get violent or anything like that.
Not that he was tall or strong enough to really keep Donny from doing... Anything at all, really.
"Donny, mate... he said, trying to calm his friend down from his rant, but before anybody could do anything else, there arrived another boy, someone Ruka didn't think he'd seen before, and he physically yanked Donny another direction, making him turn away from the Slytherin girl.
Part of Ruka was thankful that he didn't need to do it himself, however, another even bigger part forced himself to move between Donny and the boy, clearly anything but threatening in his oversized clothes and pale complexion.
"Leave my friend alone!" he said, heart racing, one hand gripped around his wand in his cloak pocket as if he actually knew any useful duelling spells. "He just loses his temper easily!" Well, that definitely wasn't a helpful statement even if it was the truth, and Ruka had no idea why that was the first thing that came out of his mouth. "He's just more angry today than usual but he means no harm!" That, at least, was a helpful truth. No matter what, Donny definitely didn't want to harm a fly. "Don't you touch him again, he didn't do anything to you!" He looked back at Donny a little helplessly, unsure where all of this was coming from, but he felt like he'd gone too far to just step away now.

Rowan. Screeched.

A full on screech, that made a good portion of people's gaze whip to them in both concern and confusion. He went bright red, making it even worse as he shoved against Miko's chest, glaring.

"You little sh*t! You suck! Gods above and below the only thing I told you to do was not drop me! You scared me half to death!"

His anger.. or whatever it was was short lived though, as he wrapped his arms around his neck again and hid his face in his chest, embarrassed. He almost missed what Celynne said too. Though as Miko said his part, he remembered what she had said.

"Yeah. There's a growing list of things my father is going to murder me for eventually. I'm actually kinda surpised he hasn't sent a howler at some point durring the year yet. Though I suppose he's too sophisticated for such a 'barbaric' form of communication."

Rowan did air quotes around barbaric, laughing softly. Let's see, there was elena, there was miko, there was his appearance, there was the wheelchair, there was the fact that he was in ROAM... ahh.. he would be so pissed at him when he saw the male next.

Often lying, but not to you.
