Hjørdis looked up at the incredibly blue sky and the beautiful white clouds. It was a rather warm day, reaching temperatures of almost twenty degrees in Celsius, which was rather rare for Hogwarts. The Head of Slytherin smiled softly to herself, appreciating the warmth for once. She was used to the heat. It was much nicer than being cold, all the time! She hated being cold, all of the time. Catching herself smiling, the professor quickly dropped her smile and glanced around the area. She was dressed in a floral beige dress and cute pair of flats. Her hair was wavy, with two large plaits catching all of the loose hair and holding it back.

It was all ready. The whole weekend had been a little hectic. She had made sure that all of the students  that were leaving had packed up and gone home yesterday. The rest of them were given a permission slip that allowed them to stay at Hogwarts. They had moved into the cabins that had been set up for them. But this morning, Hjørdis had finished up some of the final details with the help of the other members of staff.

The female looked around at the BBQ that had been set up. There were some picnic benches set up, ready for the students. A few large picnic blankets were neatly folded too, so they could sit in the grass if they preferred. It was brunch time and all of the students staying at Hogwarts were welcomed to join them for some burgers. Fried by yours truly. Well, and Caradoc Browne, who was busy throwing coal into the grill and setting it up. Hjørdis couldn't help but shake her head a little recalling how excited he seemed about the idea of a BBQ. She wondered if he wanted to do this more for him than the kids. Perhaps she would let him do the barbecuing, since he seemed so excited about it. The area was set up overlooking the lake in the distance, not too far away from the cabins.

Hjørdis looked back down to what she was doing. She stood at a table, near the grill and picked up her knife again. She resumed to cutting some onions, trying incredibly hard to resist the urge to cry as they burned her eyeballs. Eurgh, onions were evil. They were also pretty tasty in burgers. The table had a variety of vegetables already sliced and diced but she was just finishing up whilst she waited for everyone.  The Slytherin continued to quietly prepare the food as she waited for people to show up for brunch.

Katrina walked towards the campgrounds before anyone else. She wondered if anyone else she knew was staying over the summer. Katrina was lured by the smell of food. Katrina caught a glimpse of Hjørdis Jensen, she had never met her before but it seemed an introduction would be inevitable; no one else had arrived yet.

“Hi,” Katrina said, “Uh, could I help you prepare anything?” She walked over and tried to look as friendly as possible. Katrina shuffled from side to side until she realized and immediately stopped. Why am I so socially awkward? Katrina smiles and looked Hjørdis Jensen in the face.

Sebastián wandered the grounds freely, but cautiously. He was no longer a powerful wizard to be feared by the creatures in the woods. Now he was a snack for them. It was important to be careful when outside at Hogwarts. Or inside. Just in general it was best to be cautious. A cat only had nine lives after all. Rumor had it there would be brunch out here for the summer camp kids. That couldn't be missed! Maybe someone would drop some scraps or leave a plate unattended.

"Meow?" He asked Professor Jensen as he brushed up against her legs.

His training was about to be tested. Sebas had prepared all week to get better at the cute kitten eyes for begging. It was his tool for getting the good stuff. Or so he hoped. Both of his eyes locked upwards at the Slytherin Head of House, trying to inspire pity with his large pupils. He glanced back to see Katrina also trying to get the Professors attention. He gave her a sassy meow as well.

Olphie didn't particularly like barbecues, to be perfectly honest. What she did like, though? Her best friend, Yoldest Nordic Jetski, and Caradoc Browne, her almost boyfriend. She also knew that the students would be wanting her autograph, anyway; they always did. Sometimes the students were crazier than the adult fans!

She strode briskly to the barbecue and immediately went over to greet North Pole. "Norway!" she called out. "Doing well, dear?"

A flicker of movement caught Olphie's eye as she ignored whatever response Normandy would give her. This was much more important. A black cat, with fuzzy gray eyebrows and a hideous looking bow tie was rubbing up against Yourdesk's leg. Olphie stared at the cat, curiously watching it while imagining dressing it up in a beautiful pink ruffled hat and walking with him on the grounds.

The image was too much to bear, she just had to have this cat as her own. Olphie would attempt to pick the cat up as she squealed loudly,
"You are just the cutest thing I ever did see!"

Katrina looked down and saw a gorgeous cat waltz up. It meowed at her and Professor Jensen. Katrina stooped down and pet the cat’s luxurious fur. She recognized the cat but she was not sure from where.

Katrina stood and awaited the Professor’s response. She glanced over and saw Professor Bercegeay approach. Katrina enjoyed flying, it was one of her favorite classes. Even though she wasn’t that good.

Katrina bent down and pet the cat’s fur again. Professor Bercegeay reached the cat and attempted to pick it up. Katrina stifled a giggle, she knew that she probably shouldn’t laugh. She once again waited for a response from Professor Jensen.

Adam was super glad to be at Hogwarts Summer Camp for another year, after last year's exciting activities. Last July, he'd been prepared for three months with his infuriating brother, spent waiting in anticipation to get back to Hogwarts. The camp had offered a fun alternative, letting him spend more time with his friends in the place he loved. The rest of the summer, albeit, had been....eventful, but camp was still a highlight in Adam's mind.

He had been pretty sure they'd bring it back for another year, and when the announcement came officially, Adam had sprung into action, The last few days had been occupied by a hasty exchange of letters between Hogwarts and Nottingham, where his mother awaited with the final say on his plans. The first answer he got was crushing. They wanted him back at home, they missed him, they needed to spend more time as a family, all of that nonsense. Didn't they understand that he only had a few more summers left with all of his school friends? There was no time to waste! Nervous beyond words, Adam had written up the perfect reply to his mother, half a plea and half a guilt-trip, but he never got the chance to send it. Another owl arrived a day later with the attached permission slip, signed with Kristine Harringtom's signature. It was nothing short of a miracle -- a miracle achieved by his "aunt" Bridgit, who'd written a little note in the corner of the paper: have fun, kid.

With everything in line, Adam was all set to enjoy practically a whole extra month at Hogwarts. The barbecue-brunch was a great kick-off to summer camp, and it looked beautiful. Picnic tables and blankets were spread out invitingly across the grounds, and a group of professors were gathered around the grill to serve the food. It didn't look like very many people had gotten here -- could he be early? That would be a first. Content to wait and see, Adam took a seat at one of the benches and watched a girl he hadn't seen earlier talk with the professors. Leaning back to let the sun warm his face, Adam closed his eyes and smiled. Even better than a school year at Hogwarts...

...was summer at Hogwarts.

Today was sunny and warm... not River’s preffered weather, but there was nothing better to do than spend some time outside. Plus, it was brunch time, and today a barbecue was happening, and River figured she’d just as well head there for the time being.

As she approached the few people already gathered, sh could see Professor Jensen, but the rest of the people she could not recognize at the moment. Perhaps she’d seen tham around, but not payd close enough attention.

The young Ravenclaw walked up to the tables and the grill, she sent a polite nod in the direction of Professor Jensen, but she did not say anything.
The sun, it was too hot, even though River had thrown on an entire bucket of sunscreen that morning, she could feel her pale skin getting more burnt by the second. She needed to get some shade.
The Red-Head had noticed the blankets laying so neatly folded, and grabbed one with her small hands, turned, and headed toward the comfortable shade of a nice large tree. She unfolded the blanket on the ground and sat down in the grass, staying out of the sun for the time being.

As she sat there, watching the birds fly far above the heads of the other people at the barbecue, she heard someone call out, "Norway!", and in that moment, River’s head turned sharply to see Professor Bercegeay had arrived. When River realized she had called out to someone else, she looked down at the green grass next to her feet. River truly did miss Norway a lot, those years were the best ones of her life. Still, that was the past, and there was no way back. No matter what one does, the only way to continue is toward the future.

"Miss Bercegeay, as you are picking up that cat. Could you please remove it from here? We don't need any of those lingering about with all this food in the area."

The professor had been casually keeping watch by his barbecue. the excitement must have almost been dripping from his forehead along with the sweat he wiped off his brow. From the corner of his eyes, he had noticed the sneaky ball of fluff approach Nora's legs. not that he had been watching those... In any case. He never minded cats. His old folks had three back in Ireland. All in different colors and sizes even. Crazy yet cute monsters he used to call them. Then again, those back home used to jump on everything and proceeded to knock half of mum's vases in the process.

But he had been through enough food events by now to know they could be cunning little animals. He'd have none of that cuddling around this time. These children needed their food. Especially with the draining weather out in the open. The sun had really been shining through today. By the itching feeling in the back of his neck, he assumed he'd be burnt by now.

If you're reading this... You're awesome.

Bloom was beyond excited! She was so ready for camp. Last year, she remembered, that her parents had taken her out of camp towards the beginning because they wanted her and her sisters to meet their new baby brother that they adopted. She was incredibly bummed last year. But now, with some persuasion, she was able to be a part of camp throughout the summer!

It was the first event of the camp: BBQ brunch. Bloom loved the thought of having a BBQ and to eat with her friends would be so much fun. Though, it made her wonder. What any of her friends be around? Are they doing summer camp this year, too? She hoped so.

Walking into the campgrounds, she looked around. There were more professors than students that were attending the BBQ, and on top of that, there were students that Bloom did not recognize. She hoped that her friends would come and join her soon. She hoped that her friends were doing camp and not something else over the summer.

Bloom walked up to Professor Jenson who was cutting onions. She wanted to help, but the aura of the onions were already making Bloom's eyes water. She waved at the professor with a small smile and walked over to the other Professor who she had not met yet, Professor Bercegeay. She seemed to be holding a cat, and Bloom loved cats.

"Can I hold the cat?" Bloom asked the professor with a smile. While Bloom was more of a dog person, she still enjoyed the company of a cat. She especially loved this cat because it looked a bit funny looking to her.

The weather was excellent, nice enough for Dymphna to wear a floral sundress and sandals. She wore her hair down but included the sunhat to protect her fair skin. Upon arrival, she noticed her cousin was starting the barbecue. She would catch up with her soon.

Nearby was an unfamiliar student [Katrina] and a few of Hogwarts staff. It took her awhile to get the hang of Flying but she was able to pass with flying colors. (Ha!) Dymphna wanted to ask for her autograph, knowing that she’d previously played with her favorite Quidditch team, but she didn’t have anything on her. Later perhaps.

There was also Hufflepuff’s Head of House whom the blonde met at the second year graduation party. Not a very fond memory at all. She flushed in embarrassment, trying to brush it off as she looked around the grounds to see a girl laying in the grass [River]. She seemed too peaceful to interrupt.

Her eyes eventually settled on a familiar Ravenclaw so she headed over. “Adam! Enjoying the weather?” Though they weren’t exactly friends, they were from the same House, shared classes and she remembered their snowball fight from their previous year.
