Somehow Rowan had ended up here with Miko of all places, after walking for maybe ten minutes.
He hadn't sung in years. So why was he here? By pure instinct, or simply here to find a nice quiet space?
Either way, it was empty, with how late it was, and the acoustics were amazing, he could already tell with how their voices resonated in the space. Most likely a charm of some sorts. With a castle this old, it couldn't be natural. Though it really didn't matter.
He glanced over at Miko, giving a nervous little smile. Rowan was still adjusting to this whole thing. All of it. School, new people, and just him. Miko. He was just... Interesting is all Rowan could pin down at the moment, personality wise. Appearance though... He could pin down that. Adorable and hot as hell. But appearance wasn't what he was mainly interested in. There was so much to know about the other. He already knew of the spark that marked his forehead.

"Do you sing, Mon amour?"

He asked casually, rocking back on his heels as he stood dead center of the room, closing his eyes as he listened closely. Oh how he remembered what it was like. He had stood in a room like this with his mother once, creating harmonies on the spot. It was his own little speck of muggle magic.
The frenchie opened his eyes again, focusing back in on the adorable male in front of him. If only he could just know what was going on in his head. He wouldn't have to question whether he was overstepping boundaries, or making some ungodly mistake.
His pale eyes, framed by the lightest lashes were calm still as he studied Miko.
He stepped closer, raising an eyebrow in question.
He stayed like that for several seconds, just looking up at him.
Realizing how close they were, Rowan stepped back, blushing heavily, with hands clasped behind his back. He went to turn away, though he could always be pulled back, if the other was ambitious enough. Though he probably wasn't. Neither of them were, really.
Why was he even asking these things? Rowan wouldn’t sing with him even if the other did sing. What cheesey bull was that?
Rowan stepped away a bit more, already overthinking this whole thing. He was showing too much too quickly.
He fixed his hair for the hundredth time today, fidgeting nervously with the petals of the flowers.

They had entered a new room and he looked at Rowan. Had he meant to bring him there, or was it an accident? It was probably an accident, Hogwarts was maze-like. Of course this was a nice place to be. Normally when Miko was here he was practicing singing or playing his instruments. The boy wondered if the other boy played any instruments or enjoyed music like Miko does. Music was very much the Hufflepuff's life in a lot of ways. He grew up with music, sung music, listened to music, and played music.

Rowan asked if the child sings after he was thinking for a bit. "Yeah, quite a bit actually. What about you, mo righ?" the young boy answered, also questioning the other. His green eyes looked at the Gryff up and down, looking at his features and such. He was a pretty skinny with awesome white hair, on top was a cute flower crown up on his plain snow-like hair. Miko was taller than the other male by a few inches which was quite a bit for their age especially.

The young boy looked down to Rowan which was looking up at him. They were almost right up to each other and the other guy turned and stepped back seemingly nervous. It was kind of obvious that he liked Miko but, the Hufflepuff was a bit ignorant when it came to others' feelings. For him it was easier to speak rather than try to understand what their body language was saying. Speaking is so much better than keeping your feelings hidden sometimes. But when you're in front of a certain someone (cough Rowan cough) feelings are better hidden than said. After all, not everything should be spoken of. Some things should be shoved way deep down into your heart and never said.

Mo righ? What did that mean..? He didn't speak anything other than mild french and english.
Also- Damn his height. It was infuriating that he had to look up at the other male. Though there was something else to think about. Miko did infant sing. So was he happy about this or what? And was he going to lie and say he didn't sing, or risk the possibility of him expecting him to sing?

"Ah well- yes..? I used to, that is."

The pitter patter of rain crept into his thoughts, calming him.
Why couldn't feelings just be easy?
Rowan contemplated just balling up all of the confusing emotions and shoving them away. But he wanted to know how Miko felt. Just asking would be obvious. But at the same time, maybe he wanted to be obvious. Get the point across and give him an opening to do something about it if he really wanted.
Besides, he needed to change the subject from singing.

"I'm surprised I've made it this far. I practically lost my breath when I saw you. So now being alone... carrying a conversation... it's intriguing. I am so scared not of what you will think but rather what you will not."

Such confusing words from the small one. It was like a delicate dance on top of a tightrope. About to pitch over the side at any moment, and relying on the other to match your steps. Balance you out.
The hufflepuff was oblivious, so Rowan gave him a hint. A bold one, that left him blushing softly, but a hint nonetheless.
He removed the crown, holding it in his small hands so he could study it for a moment. Make sure it was still as perfect as when he had put it on this morning. His hair fell in elegant waves against his neck for the moment.
Rowan turned back to him, raising a brow.

"You're cute. And tall. Athletic. It's unfair and infuriating, but that's not the point. Well- maybe it is. But- why are you bothering with me? I'm not exactly the vision of perfection, especially compared to you. I don't know if you... I don't know."

Another bold question. One he should not be asking. Maybe he did prefer singing over this.

Miko was happy to hear that Rowan also sung. Singing was extremely soothing, well at least in Miko's opinion. It was a good way to express different feelings in a way that made everyone understand. Songs could help calm any emotion if that be sadness or happiness it would work. To the Hufflepuff's family, the boy was a great singer but in his own opinion he was just okay. Not great not awesome not horrible just in the middle. That was his opinion anyway, in his brain, stocked away from anything else.

The boy almost got the wind knocked out of him when he heard what Rowan stated next. I almost made him lose his breath? Me? ME? Out of all the people, it was me. he thought. Honestly Miko has never had the best image of himself but also not the worst. His self-esteem was definitely lower than what it probably should be. The boy always thought he was average and not even that good looking, of course coming from him. A lot of girls in the past have come up to him saying they liked him and thought he was handsome but it just went in one ear and out the other.

Rowan thought Miko was cute, tall and athletic and that made him feel good inside. Although the other said he wasn't the vision of perfect, and maybe he wasn't but for the Hufflepuff he was perfect. Just because he maybe wasn't the best looking, or the tallest, or the same as the rest didn't mean he was any less than perfect. The white hair was perfectly kept, and the other's hair could barely be combed that was one of his perfections. Rowan was sweet and different which Miko liked a load. "Because you're perfect in my eyes, Rowan." is all he replied with.

The young boy made a gesture for Rowan to stay in the middle of the empty area. He walked over to a locker with a lot of stickers of guitars and pianos on it which was on the side of the room and grabbed a key from his pocket. Upon opening the locker revealed  beautiful acoustic guitar with a little carving of the Deathly Hallows at the bottom. Miko walked over to sit next to Bane and began to slowly tune the guitar. He messed up a few times but it seemed to work well.

"Oh my gods- if you're planning on serenading me with guitar music I am going to scream."

He was mostly sarcastic, but still. That was just... very cheesy and he wasn't ready for that yet. First he said he was perfect. Which he obviously wasn't. But still. He was red as a tomato and still processing the whole 'you're perfect in my eyes'. He would probably have preferred another hug or even a kiss over this. Okay so maybe not, but still. It would be horribly cheesy if he played a song to him on the damn guitar.
Rowan put his flower crown back on quickly and scooted closer.

"Not that it's not adorable but- I'm- I'm not perfect mon amour. You're mistaken I believe. Or- maybe you're not but- I'm- ugh- you're making me flustered and if you're going to play for me it's not going to help whatsoever. I'm usually not this flustered."

Again- he'd rather take the singing over this. He at least wanted to do something for the other. Yes, he was a little standoffish and a bit of a tsundere. But admitting he liked him was already a lot for him.

"I can't believe you're already showing me up. You better let me set up the first date now, otherwise you're one upping me, and I'll be annoyed"

Miko laughed and finished tuning the guitar. It was quite complicated really, he was planning to play for him, but also sing a little song. Hopefully Rowan wouldn't mind it really, the boy figured he was just embarrassed. He took a deep breath and looked into the others' eyes for a minute or two then held the guitar in his hands, fingers on the strings.

The Hufflepuff began to play the tune to "Sad Song" by We The Kings. Playing every note with amazing talent, and he began to sing with a sweet voice. "You and I, we're like fireworks and symphonies exploding in the sky..." the lad began the song. He sang almost exactly like the actual song, which has a rich voice of both a male and female which go together perfectly. Miko passed a few verses and got to the chorus which was his favorite part of the whole song, "Without you, I feel broke, like I'm half of a whole. Without you, I've got no hand to hold, without you I feel torn like a sail in a stoooooorm." He continued the awesome song, holding the notes flawlessly with both his voice and the instrument.

The music kept going and it was definitely calming Miko, it was quite noticeable. Once the song ended he smiled and placed the guitar down on to the floor. The Hufflepuff seemed content with his singing skills in front of Rowan now, normally he thought he was trash.

As soon as the male set his guitar down, Rowan shoved him off the chair.
Amazing thanks, right?
Yeah, I'm joking. The real reaction was much better, and just as cheesy as what Rowan was forced to endure (not forced, but still).
A cross between a hiccup and a laugh was escaping him as he covered his face, blushing furiously still.

"You are such a damn dork. But a lucky one."

He said between gasps. His flowers shifted from a red to a bit of a pinkish color. How odd.
And you know what the best part of his reaction was?
Instead of shoving him immediately when he set down the guitar, he grabbed his collar and pulled him to himself, pressing his soft lips to the others briefly, before he then shoved him away (And probably off the chair).
Leaning back in his own chair, he crossed his arms behind his head, a soft grin on his face. It was odd how he wasn't blushing as much now, even though he had just kissed him dead on the lips. Don't get me wrong, he was still a strawberry, but he wasn't quite the maroon color he had been seconds ago.
No, the other didn't mind him singing. It was actually quite sweet. He just hated being showed up. I mean really, how unfair was that?

"Don't expect me to do that again so quickly, mon amour. You'll have to earn it."

What a little brat! Like he didn't enjoy it.

Miko grinned after Rowan called him a dork. He wondered if the other was laughing at him or something else, what if it was him? Did Miko suck at this still? It probably wasn't him because almost immediately after he finished laughing he gave the boy a big smooch. The Hufflepuff was so stunned when he fell off the chair he didn't even pick himself up right when he hit the ground. For a minute he just stared at the chair in shock, his face turning bright red.

The lad brushed himself off and sat on the chair again. "Wow gu ceart, bha sin ... cha chreid mi ciamar a mhìnicheas mi e. Is toigh leam mo sholas." he spoke in Gaelic again. He only did that when he was really flustered or when another scot was around, and Rowan was certainly not Scottish. Miko's accent got way thicker and more difficult to understand. The young Hufflepuff cleared his throat, trying especially hard to speak English. "ALBA AIRSON A 'CHUINN!" he randomly yelled. That would translate into "SCOTLAND FOR THE WIN", somehow he thought that was a good choice of words.

"Inbhinn fola carson a tha seo a 'tachairt dhòmhsa?" he muttered.

Rowan understood none of what he said. But it was adorable nonetheless. Miko was a little rose practically, with how red his cheeks were. That or a sunflower, with the yellow robes all sprawled out on the floor.

“Knocked you into the next nationality mon amour? It would be cuter if I understood you.”

All in good fun, of course. But Rowan still couldn’t understand him, and it kinda sucked. His flowers were still bright pink, as were his cheeks. Thankfully he wasn’t as bad off as the other, bright red and speaking only Gaelic.  He could at least choose to speak in French.

“Should I even ask for a translation, or will I be forced to suffer in confusion?”

His sarcasm on the last part was astounding.
He was still leaned back in the chair as he listened to the nonsensical words. At least they were nonsense to him.  Maybe he should learn Gaelic.
Oh yeah, you just casually decided you’re gonna learn Gaelic. Casually.
In all honesty, he probably wouldn’t follow through, but maybe he could meet him halfway a bit. Learn some sentences that would make him blush.

Miko took a breath and let go a small chuckle, pulling his hair back a bit for an attempt to calm himself. That was pretty surprising for the boy since he'd been making several of the moves. This was like a game of wizards chess, each pawn being moved by one's actions leading to a certain consequence whether that be good or bad. For Rowan's play, he left Miko stunned, unable to make a move for one turn. The other boy would proceed to charm the Hufflepuff while he was stunned, a simple game really.

After finally processing what had just happened, the Gryffindor asked him for a translation. "I'd rather you struggle really, nothing personal just embarrassing stuff." Miko had finally replied to the other boy with a spontaneous move, leaving the guess work to Bane. The young Scot tried to wrap his head fully around his situation but he just couldn't do it, the main picture that was given was what he had to settle with. The information was quite a bit for him to get, but nonetheless he enjoyed it.

Learning French would definitely be put into consideration for the future, maybe he too could learn a phrase or too to stun Rowan as much as Miko was stunned.
