Today, Aurelia was in a particularly uneasy state, for whatever reason, the pureblood Gryffindor could not pinpoint why. There was something in the back of her mind, bothering her as the hours flew by and classes passed. Perhaps it was the ball that was coming up. The girl had already an outfit in her wardrobe in preparation for the event. However, her agenda was not to enjoy herself as most ball goers would be seeking but rather hunt. Hunt for monsters. Perhaps that was the one thing bothering her. What if she failed as she did in the last ball? What if something went wrong?

Hogwart's balls always went wrong.

The last time she had taken to practice was during the cold months of winter, that was a relatively long time ago. Today, Aurelia was intending to get some practice, at the same time, ease those bothering thoughts from her mind. Unfortunately, the skill was very much a secret to the Monster Hunter. Sure the mastery had led to a few benefits like building her agility, but no one needed to know that. As she approached the rehearsal room, Aurelia would hear the melodic notes that reeled her in like a siren's call to the room.

Usually, Aurelia would make a beeline upon the realisation of another presence in the room, but this was different. The fourteen-year-old peered through the gap of the ajar door, her eyes falling upon a redhead girl seated by the piano, her fingers dancing skillfully across the keys, every note resonating perfectly throughout the room. It was not just the music which intrigued her, for the girl's visage was perplexingly alluring. Before the monster hunter herself could register, her feet moved, barging through the door and passing its threshold. What was she doing? Soon she found herself a few feet away from the red-head beauty before her.

"I just wanted to say, your music was beautiful... you are beautiful." The words tumbled from her lips in a stutter. At that very moment, Aurelia had to fight the urge not to smack her palm against her forehead. What had gotten into her? She was a monster hunter, a pureblood even and one would think someone like her would know better social interacting skills.

"Sol-Sol-La-Si-La-Fa-Re.." Lydia kept thinking in her mind, as her fingers moved rapidly over the piano keys, hitting note after note with just the right amount of pressure. The little quavers and crotchets ran one after the other, the sound coming from them clear and pure, and Lydia could feel a sense of pride rising inside of her; after almost a month of practice, she was so close to finally be able to perform this Aria without a single mistake.

With the ball approaching fast, and her being drowned by the amount of things that still needed to be done for it, the red headed girl had tried her best to create some time for her daily piano practice, since it appeared that the sound of the notes coming from the lovely instrument were one of the little things that were able to calm her down enough to not feel too overwhelmed by everything.

She really wanted to get this song right, to be able to play it with her eyes closed. The Hufflepuff girl knew that during the summer -that apparently she will be forced to spend with her Grandma- she would have had to be on her best behaviour with her grandmother, and that included being able to decently play the piano, since the old woman was particularly fond of it. So, since the day she had gotten the letter form her grandma, Lydia had made it one of her priorities to be able to play as many classical songs on the piano as she could.

The red headed girl was so focused on the music, that she didn't even hear the door of the Rehearsal Room open, let alone someone walking up to her. But when a girl started talking, Lydia couldn't help but jump up in surprise, her fingers ungracefully hitting a bunch of random notes. For a second she considered snapping at whoever interrupted her, but when her eyes locked on the other girl it felt like Lydia couldn't properly concentrate anymore, her brain too busy contemplating the really pretty girl in front of her.

After a couple of seconds she actually registered what the other girl had said, and her face became instantly red. Nobody had ever called her beautiful, at least not like that, and Lydia couldn't help but look down at her shoes, as she reached for a strand of hair to absently torture.

"Wha- you... I mean, thank you?" she stuttered, as she looked back up at the girl. She really was pretty, with grey-blue eyes and light-brown hair; she looked older than Lydia, but not by much, probably an year or two.

"Did you need to use the room? I was almost done, so if you'd like me to go I guess I could..." she asked her, gesturing towards the door with her head. "I'm Lydia, by the way," she added, before she gave the mystery a small smile, her cheeks still pretty red from the embarrassment.
