11:45AM, 7th November.
Like any other Saturday morning, Falentra made her way down to the grounds. She never really picked a specific spot, or have one in mind before her travels and rather just went wherever her mind would decide to take her at the time. Today, it choose the Quidditch Training Pitch. The sport wasn’t something she was entirely passionate about, but as Howard was now part of Hufflepuff team, she couldn’t help but start to take some form of interest. Her intentions were only to stand aside, hidden away to avoid interaction and simply watch how her peers played. Besides, she could always give her partner ideas or tips on how skilled they were. It could help him in future games.

Like every other day over the past few months, the weather wasn’t at its best. Heavy rains or strong winds, and even a bit of frost starting to form on the paths had made itself noticeable.
The morning ahead was set to be fresh and rather windy, though thankfully only light rain would accompany it. It defiantly called for the Slytherin to wrap up well. She wore an overlarge brown suede coat. Beneath would be a thin black jumper than was tucked in by a pair of skinny jeans. There was merely any jewellery present on the girl, being that she wasn’t the girliest of girls, or the richest to afford such items.

Upon arriving at the pitch, it was surprisingly quiet. The weather would explain why, but there were one boy up in the air. He wasn’t too high although to her, it was high enough. He was going at some speed and made it look easy. As much as she didn’t care for the boy before her, she couldn’t help but see a accident in the making. The winds were strong, so strong that the boy was probably putting up a fight.
Was he mad, or stupidly stubborn to give in to the harsh winds?
The Slytherin couldn’t help but watch with wide eyes. Part of her was eager to see an accident take place, whilst the other half knew that if she was to see the other injured, her inner guilt would get the better of her and force her help out.

While watching the mini show, she would extend her wand, her movement as quick as the words that were to follow. “Pluvia Velo.” A umbrella would appear after the words left her mouth, shielding her from the rain that started to become heavy. It was only a matter of time now that something bad was about to take place.

The stormy wind was merciless, disrupting his early practice. He had noticed it before he had started his training just a bit ago, but of course his stubborn mind would not just give up on this without putting up a little fight against mother nature; a stupid idea, really [Str : fail]. He hasn't been able to keep up with the weather for long however even though it started out great. But after a while his limbs became tired and his muscles would give in to being a ragdoll in the wind. It wouldn't help that the rain had made his broom slippery in a way that no gripping charm could help him anymore and his grip slipped away and all he could hear was the wind howling into his ears as big drops of rain would slap into his face, though his Quidditch goggles would mostly protect him from that but they wouldn't be much help with the ground approaching quickly.

However Alan knew just what to do, he had seen this approach and though the panic would have been overwhelming, he had practiced the spell often enough and knew to use it in such a situation. He would fumble for the wand in his pocket, drawing it as he would cast the incantation choosing himself to be the target of his Slowing Charm and just closed his eyes hoping for the best. Though his aim needed some serious practice, the spell luckily - for him - had no other way than to hit him. It was quite a close call as he had nearly dropped the wand. However with the spell finding its intended target nonetheless, he would feel the world around him slow down as he stabilized his body, floating towards the ground. It was then that his feet would touch the ground and the spell stopped, making the fourth year exhale a shaky breath he didn't know he had been holding. The stop was no where near gentle however, the failure in aim taking its toll on him as he could feel his ankle give in to the landing as a sharp pain shot through his body, making him hiss in discomfort. It was then when he noticed that he was not alone on the pitch, making blood rush into his cheeks as he gave the person a sheepish smile. It looked a little forced due to the way his body shook from the cold as the rain had totally drenched his clothes. He has not even been paying attention to it while he was in the air, only now that he was on the ground could he feel the bitter cold and felt the sneeze that forced itself from his nose.

All the way he was trying to put as little pressure onto his foot as he could, knowing that he probably needed to get that checked out by the nurse to make sure it would recover quickly. He already hated just the thought of it. Seeing how his broom had fallen not too far from the two of them he would slowly make his way over, hopping on one foot while attempting to maintain balance, doing so surprisingly well.

And there it was. A loud thump could be heard as he made an impact on the ground. He was quite fragile looking now that she had a better look at him on the ground, though his instant attempt at trying to stand would say otherwise. His cheeks were flushed. Probably a mixture of the cold winds and embarrassment. But to be flying out in such weather, what was he expecting to happen? Falentra shown no sympathy towards the boy that she had now approach. She had a hold of his broom by this point too, with being able to get to it at a much faster pace than himself.

Her brow raised as she examined the roughened up broom. The poor thing... it had taken a beating for sure. The girl let out a faint chuckle before finally moving attention to the boy. ''Well that was embarrassing.'' She stated the obvious rather than asking if he was okay. He was completely soak, covered in mud and injured. ''Is it your ankle that hurts?'' She asked as she looked him up and down, trying to make out if he was hurt elsewhere. A fall such as that could have ended much worse, so he was lucky if he had just sprained his ankle. ''I can go and get a nurse but... I mean, you look like a soaked puppy who's completely lost and maybe not all there. You was flying about in this weather afterall.'' Another snicker would leave her lips before she finally decided to move herself closer and shield him from the rain. It wasn't to be much help with him being drenched already, but it was shielding him partly from that bitter wind. ''Walk with me.'' It wasn't so much a question, but more of a command. Though she wasn't going to say it, he seemed stronger than he looked.
She had positioned herself beside him by now in case he needed assistant. She however was not going to offer it so willingly.

Her statement would make his cheeks burn even brighter, perhaps enough at this point to actually warm his face a little; at least it would feel that way at first before the biting cold would take over once again. He could feel the water creeping in as well as the mud that possibly covered him for the most part as he had dropped. Yet he still couldn't help a giddy grin as he took in the view of the girl. "It kind of was, wasn't it?" he had to admit with a sigh and the shake of his head as he reached out for his broom, "Could I get that please? Thanks for fetching it," he was still kind of glad that he did not fall with no one around because that could have proven problematic fairly easy. All the while he would speak through clenched teeth as he tried to ignore the searing pain in his ankle that possibly made him want to cry out. He looked pretty frail and not quite strong, but he was determined enough and possibly quite stubborn in achieving his goals.

He had to huff as she called him a puppy, narrowing his eyes slightly as if she had insulted him, yet the playfulness was still there. He knew it was meant to be a joke, so it was funny and he might have laughed if he didn't have to clench his teeth together so badly. He would glance over her as she positioned herself closer and unsurely raised his arm slightly, indicating that he could sling it around her shoulders for more support, but not doing so yet. "Do you mind?" he wondered , carefully watching her. If she did, he would simply fight himself through the rain by hopping on one foot, shouldn't be too difficult especially since he could use his broom to steady himself a little bit.

The poor boy was really trying his best not to show the pain he was experiencing. She had already called him out and stated the obvious before, enough to make him blush, so she wasn't going to throw another his way. She was cold but.. eh, he had enough on at the minute. As a result she would keep quiet and just keep her eyes on him. He was walking but with a limp, but managing, just. Though that would quickly take a turn as his pace slowed and his body edged to her. She figured it was some sort of cry of help, but the words that followed would confirm it for her. ''Sure.'' She replied whilst taking a hold of his forearm once he swung it around her neck. Her free hand would rest around his side though often shuffling further up then back down. She felt slightly awkward herself now. A quick cough to clear her throat would follow up to try and push away the feeling she felt creeping up.''You doin' okay?'' Her head would tilt down slightly to check on him as the pace would remain slow and steady. She didn't mind really but this weather was shite. The gushing wind made the rain reach every part of her body no matter how covered she was.

He seemed either too proud or too shy maybe to express the pain he was feeling. Come to think of it, he reminded her of a cute puppy. But that was besides the point. The coldness was sure becoming a pain in the arse for him too no doubt. So Falentra was to take control of the situation, even if he wasn't too fond of it. Within moments she would have stopped, placed herself in front of him with her back facing his front. She leant down slightly and grabbed the back of his thighs carefully to try and avoid irritating or bashing his injured ankle into her then lifted him up onto her back.
He wasn't too heavy but she also wasn't the strongest of people. Right now her adrenaline was what probably kept her going. If they were to keep going at pace they had before, they would be completely drenched and full of a cold by the time they got back to the castle. So for him to refuse her help that was being offered so willingly was out of the question.

The pace had already quickened and with each stride and foot that slushed its way through the mud would bring them closer to the castle. The Slytherin shook her head to throw back the soaked locks of hair that had begun to stick to her face, some even blocking her vision. ''Ugh! This fuckin' weather!'' She cursed, now becoming pissed with it. It couldn't even have stopped for a few minutes? Even that awful wind, to just stop blowing the rain in their faces. Anything at this point would have been great in all honesty.

''You still doin' okay?'' She asked again. It was probably starting to come across as though she was extremely concerned for the boy but in reality it was more of a way to keep her mind occupied on something rather than the weather. Not that she didn't care. If that was the case she would have laughed and left him on the pitch. And never of even dreamt of putting someone on her back. He should probably take a picture of his and treasure such a rare moment.

Alan yelped when she suddenly stopped and proceeded to give him a piggyback ride. She had looked nimble so Alan half expected them to tumble to the ground as soon as she took a step and braced himself for them impact. Though to his surprise she managed to carry him quite well despite the heavy rain pattering against their face and the grass below their feet that must be extremely slippery. Alan tried to keep his mouth closed as to not get a bunch of the rain water into his mouth while talking but that did not do too much. Now as he was no longer up in the sky and had nothing to occupy himself with but the pain that shot through his ankle, he could no longer ignore the biting cold. Though he was somewhat happy to at least not have to suffer through this alone, in a way it was a lucky coincidence that she had shown up when she did.

He would nod at the repeated question as he tried to blink away the rain from his eyes. The castle was at least getting closer now, so that in itself was quite nice. "What's your name?" he would ask the girl curiously, not quite sure how else to make conversation and distract from both weather and pain. He couldn't deny that they made a faster progress with her carrying him than him walking by himself, he would have to thank her later.

The breathing became heavier on her end with each step she took. He wasn't too heavy but adding that to the fact of her being skin and bone didn't make it easy. Of course, she wasn't going to give in too such a thing, even if she was giving off evidence of struggle. She was far to stubborn to take no for an answer. Plus, an act of kindness like this was too rare to refuse or interfere with.

Her feet continued to squish their way through the muddied grass, each step drawing them that bit closer to the castle. Thankfully though, he had made the effort to continue on at the conversation. It was a weakness of hers, to start one off, or keep it going. Small talk wasn't something she was keen on either, but he was doing no harm in asking. She was carrying the lad after all, so the least she could do was give him the basics. ''Falentra Black.'' She answered after letting out a small sigh. ''And you? I've seen you around before-- in classes and all.'' While she awaited his reply, her feet dragged themselves forward, which started to feel like a lifetime.
They eventually reached the cobblestone wall of the castle and not far from where she stood would be an archway that would lead to some shelter and a firm surface for Alan to stand on. It was perfect place to have him rest properly before taking him off to the Hospital Wing.

A quick nod in agreement to her own thoughts would lead her to the sheltered location. She slowly placed him down beside the stone bench and gave out a grunt from the aching in her back. She tried her best to hide the emotion and instead drew the attention back to his own pain. ''You gonna be good for your upcomin' games? Looks like it hurts like a bitch. But then again, what you expect for practicin' out in that?'' Like a mother lecturing her child, Fal would scold him with a hint of her sarcasm, or harshness depending on how you took her choice of words.

"Oh, I'm Alan, Alan Vanes," he would tell her, wincing slightly as he tried to bite back the tears that slightly stung in his eyes. He really did not deal well with pain, he hated it. Then again, who did not? As she at one point lowered him onto a stone bench, he would sight in relief as he tried to examine his leg. Then again he could not see much as he was wearing his soaked sneakers, but even then he could see the swelling on his ankle and cringed slightly. Alan had to shake his head slightly as he stared at it.

Falentra seemed worried, or at least Alan assumed that she was because she started to ask questions. Alan shrugged slightly and smiled sheepishly, but the pain he felt was apparent. "I should be alright, really, probably just needs some rest and all... And even if, I don't exactly need my leg for flying properly, though it would help to have it get back to good health for any more taxing maneuvers," he muttered thoughtfully. "It wasn't as bad when I had started!" he argued back, soft spoken as he knew that she was somewhat right. It had been careless but how could he have known that a small rain shower would turn into something so big, so quickly? Alan shook his head slightly. "What were you doing out there in the rain?"

The Slytherin eyed up the boys reaction to putting some pressure onto his ankle. Was he about to cry? The question caused her to smirk, though only briefly. It wasn't her mocking his pain but rather his attempt at trying to hide it. ''Do I really look the type to bully someone for crying?'' She joked, knowing full well she was, but in this case it was the opposite. She knew nothing of the boy other than his name, and that he was a bit of a adrenaline junkie when it came to Quidditch but he seemed kind, and genuine. It was a face she couldn't see upset, at least not by her doing.

Her hands raised in defeat. ''Alright, alright. If you say so.'' She wasn't going to argue with the boy. He knew his body better than her, and the sport for that matter. At least now he was in a sheltered place and able to rest his foot. The Slytherin sat herself down beside him and leaned forward, resting her forearms against her knees. Her eyes looked out to the harsh weather as he spoke of her. She never really knew herself why she wandered the grounds so often, especially in such conditions but she just did. Anywhere that she felt free and away from her pestering peers suited her. ''Dunno really. I enjoy walkin' round 'ere. Not too much in this weather but-'' She paused, making sure she was still making some sense. Words were slowly becoming more easier for her to pronounce without stuttering or the whole 'oohing and aahing' being said after every other word. She was able to talk freely and more confidently, something she was proud of. ''But I guess you was lucky I was out eh? Else you'd be crawling your way back.'' She scoffed, though this time at herself. A hefty punch against his arm followed straight after. One that was to be taken as a joke. Maybe she should have gave a playful nudge with him being in pain already but he was handling it so well, so a punch wasn't going to tip him over the edge. He was a tough cookie.

She wasn't too sure if her graceless actions were too much for someone she just met. Just in case he was to be offended, she would clear her throat and change the subject. ''I'm sure I've seen you around with a cat before. Am I right? Looks like a little tiger.''

Alan huffed slightly, his pride a little scratched, though in a light manner, as she said that he would have been crawling his way back to the castle if it hadn't been for her. "No way, if it hadn't been for you being out, I wouldn't have been surprised that someone else would dare go out in such weathers," he said, not even convinced by that himself, but it was a bold claim nonetheless and he would not back down from this. Though the grin that was forming on his face, despite the biting yet dull pain in his ankle, would have easily sold him out.

"My cat? You have seen him? Yeah, he is a Bengal cat, they are known to be spotted though, not striped; more of a leopard I'd say," he said with a chuckle. "Still had named him tiger though, cause of Bengal tiger, Bengal cat you see," he explained, which was a silly reason but he had only been a second year back when he had found the feline. Alan was still happy to this day to have met Tiger and that he had been able to rescue him. They reached the castle and entered it, now that they have gotten so far, they would only have to make it to the hospital wing and could call it a success.
