[quote]
There was nothing to do. Isaiah Lewis felt the most bored he had ever felt in his life.
He threw his wand up high in the air, flicking his wrist so that it would spin as it flew. He watched the wand as it twisted around, before catching it in his left hand.
He was sitting on a small, red couch, the type you'd find in early 20th century houses, in the study room, a place he didn't normally go, as studying never really fell into the category of things he enjoyed. Isaiah was horrible at schoolwork - sitting still had never been for him. He was always getting in trouble for fiddling or tapping or whatever else.
But rain was pouring down in buckets outside, and the Gryffindor common room was stuffed full of people looking for a retreat from the weather. So Isaiah had come here, where, although packed, the crowds weren't as dense as those elsewhere.
Bored, he started flicking his wand in the air again, slowly throwing it higher and higher until it actually hit the roof. He continued, throwing it again and again, until the wand began to emit strange orange sparks. Some of the students, most who were a couple of years older than Isaiah, started giving him annoyed looks.
"Could you stop that please?" said a Year Five girl from Gryffindor, with a nose stuck in her book, giving Isaiah a look, making it clear that she was by far more important than Isaiah in every single way.
Letting out a small sigh, he shoved the wand back into his robe pocket, and slouched a little further down the couch, looking mournfully outside at the rain pouring down the windows. If only there was something, anything, for him to do.

Maya was wandering through the long winding hallways of Hogwarts trying to figure out where to go she had planned to go outside and look around the grounds but it was pouring it down with rain outside and even though it would be fun to run around in the rain she didn’t want to get ill on her first day here
Maya started walking past the Library it was very quiet except for a few whispers so she decided to go in, Maya didn’t mind the quiet it’s easier to draw when it’s quiet but dead silence always made her feel awkward and uncomfortable so she was just hoping some people will be speaking at least a little inside
Maya pushed the big tall library doors open and slipped inside, quickly scanning the room there were rows beyond rows of tall thin bookcases and on the other side of the room rows of tables with students reading and writing in silence but one boy stood out to her he didn’t look like the rest of them he wasn’t reading or studying he was sitting on a small red couch throwing his wand up into the air and catching it as it fell he looked quite bored
Maya decided to move closer to the boy sitting on separate couch next to the one the boy was sitting on, looking around she noticed a few of the older students glare at him as the wand hit the ceiling one girl told him to stop so he put the one back away just looking outside
Maya sighed taking out her sketch pad and pencil going between two thoughts should she talk to the boy or just leave him Maya’s not very talkative and usually keep to herself most of the time not out of shyness but just because she’s not very trusting to others but maybe it would be good to talk more, Maya started tapping her pencil onto the pad leaning back into the couch just out of habit she always seem to do it when she was thinking
After thinking about it Maya decided to talk to the boy she want to make new friends and for it to be different to the old muggle schools, she sat up and turned to face the boy “Hey you look bored” it was only a simple observation but Maya wasn’t sure what to talk to him about she didn’t know him but maybe she would after today

Turning around, Isaiah found a blonde-haired, fair-skinned girl, probably First Year, and quite pretty, sitting near him. She held a sketchpad and a pencil in her hands, and seemed friendly. From the sketchpad, Isaiah guessed that perhaps the girl was an artist, or maybe even a writer. Regrettably, Isaiah couldn't say the same about himself. For as long as he could remember, Isaiah had never had a talent for art. His pictures resembled a toddler's picture, and Isaiah's writing was hardly illegible, with so many spelling mistakes it could be another language. Isaiah instantly felt slightly jealous of the girl, and her skill, whether it was either art or writing."Hey you look bored."
It was nice of her to start a conversation, and Isaiah was grateful for something to do, even if it was just talking. Plus, the girl looked nice enough.
"Yeah," he admitted to the girl, grinning, "There is absolutely nothing for me to do. I think this is maybe the bored-est I have ever been in my life."
Isaiah moved around, so that he was properly facing the girl. He didn't know the girl, but Isaiah was talkative in nature, and was enjoying the fact that there was someone to talk with.
"I don't ever really come here," he said. "'Cause I'm not really the study-type. I'm not good at lessons at all, really. But the Gryffindor common room is packed, so I thought I should maybe go down here. But it's so boring."
He stopped, taking a breath, and Isaiah wondered if he had spoken too much. Some people didn't like that, all the talking, and he hoped the girl wasn't one of them. But, he did want to make friends with the girl, and talking was really the only way to do it. So, he asked one final question.
"What's your name?"

The boy turned around to face Maya
he admitted grinning at Maya, the boy had dark ebony skin and had his hair tied into braids he looked about the same year as Maya he turned around more on the couch so him and Maya were facing each other more directly, Maya moved her sketch pad to the side of the couch next to her so she wouldn’t keep fiddling with it and she could just talk to the boy,
Maya liked how he didn’t ask about her sketch pad most people when they see it will ask to see what she has drawn in it but Maya didn’t like showing her artwork to everyone each piece was personal to her and had a specific meaning

The boy said putting emphasis on the ‘so’ he took a breath after talking, Maya liked that he was opening up to her and she liked how he was talking a lot otherwise the conversation would just be boring and very slow most people just awkwardly sit there or answer with short yes or no answersI don’t ever really come here, cause I’m not really the study-type. I’m not good at lessons at all, really. But the Gryffindor common room is packed, so I thought I should maybe go down here. But it’s so boring.
Maya realised she hadn’t been speaking much and she hadn’t introduced herself “I’m Maya and you are ?” She asked the boy back introducing herself “And I’m not really the studying type either I just came in here because it’s raining outside” She said with a smileWhat’s your name?

The girl placed her sketchpad beside her, on the couch she was sitting on, as Isaiah was talking. He took that as a good sign, that she wanted to listen to him.
“I’m Maya and you are?”
"Isaiah," he told the girl. "Isaiah Lewis." Maya was a pretty name, he considered. It suited the girl too, he thought, somehow. She was very pretty, with her long, blonde hair. A pretty name for a pretty girl.
“And I’m not really the studying type either I just came in here because it’s raining outside”
The girl said this with a smile, and Isaiah returned it almost instantly. He was always glad to make a new friend, and Maya seemed like she was willing as well. They seemed similar as well, Maya was inside because of the rain, like Isaiah.
"Same, actually," he pointed out, after the girl had spoke. "I'd normally be outside too, because it isn't half as boring as inside. That's why the common room's packed, I think. Because no one wants to go outside in this type of weather."
He paused to turn to a window in the room, a large one with a view of outside. He could see the lake from here, the waves breaking onto the pebbly shore with enthusiasm. Rain still poured down, lashing furiously at the window, and the sky was cloudy grey, the sun nowhere in sight. Suddenly, a thought struck him.
"It's a shame," he said, as he turned back from the window to face Maya. "About the rain. But we could do something in here? Unless you're doing something..." he trailed off, wondering if he'd gone too far, and looked at Maya expectantly, waiting for an answer.

He told Maya, it was a nice name and he suited itIsaiah, Isaiah Lewis
He smiled back to Maya almost instantly after she did which made her happy she hoped it meant he liked talking to her
He pointed out after Maya had finished talking they were quite similar they were both inside because of the rain and didn’t like to sit still or the quiet at least that’s what Maya was assumingSame actually
He paused a little after speaking looking back through the window Maya turned to face the giant windows as well looking outside the window Maya could see the Great Lake it was such a beautiful view the rain making the lake ripple and wave pouring onto the pebbly side of the shore, it was still raining a lot Maya thought how her mother would describe it as raining cats and dogs a small smile came across Maya’s face watching the rain hit the windows and lake thinking of her mum back homeI’d normally be outside too, because it isn’t half as boring as inside. That’s why the common room’s packed, I think. Because no one wants to go outside in this type of weather.
Isaiah said Maya turned from the window to face him just as he was turning back to face herIt’s a shame
The boy trailed off looking at Maya probably waiting for a response she thought about it contemplating her choices she wasn’t doing anything today the rain had ruined any plans she had “Okay” Maya shortly replied but she thought she should say more than just one word “I don’t have any plans now because of the weather did you have anything in mind ?” She looked at Isaiah trying to think of some ideas incase he couldn’t “And it’s nice to meet you Isaiah Lewis” She said sweetly a slight smile on her faceAbout the rain. But we could do something in here? Unless you’re doing something...

"Okay."
The girl, Maya replied. Instantly, he felt a sense of relief flood over him as the girl gave her answer. He'd never admit it to someone, but, for a moment there, he had been worried that the girl wasn't going to answer, or refuse the offer. After all, she probably had more interesting things to do than to hang out with a boy she hardly knew.
“I don’t have any plans now because of the weather did you have anything in mind?”
Maya asked curiously, turning to face Isaiah. It was a difficult question; because normally, Isaiah would head outside, maybe explore some part of the grounds. Once, he'd spent an evening trying to look for the Giant Squid, desperate to get a glace at the monster. But that, admittedly, hadn't gone very well. As he was deep in thought, stuck on what to say, Maya spoke again.
“And it’s nice to meet you Isaiah Lewis.”
She said this sweetly, and Isaiah smiled back, glad she seemed to want to hang out with him. But his mind soon returned to the difficult task of finding something for the two of the to do. It had to be inside, that was certain, the rain was still pouring buckets outside, and it didn't look like it was going to stop anytime soon.
Frowning, Isaiah thought and thought, searching his brain, until finally, he came up with something.
"How about we explore the castle? It sounds kind of boring, I know, but I've done it before! Last time, I discovered a tunnel, behind a suit of armor. It didn't go anywhere, but it was interesting! And we might find something too!"
Isaiah waited, proud of his idea, yet nervous that Maya wouldn't like it. It would be fun to do, go explore the castle, but it was true that not everybody was fond of doing it.

Isaiah smiled back at Maya almost instantly after she did, they sat there on the red couches thinking of ideas of what to do it wasn’t an easy question Maya had asked she was stuck inside since it was still raining heavily outside and nobody wanted to out with the weather like that
Maya turned to the boy he seemed to be concentrating lost in though He expression changed into a frown probably still thinking when he spoke
Maya contemplated her options grabbing her pencil from beside her and twiddling it around in her hand it helped her concentrate, she decided even if they didn’t find anything it would be fun to get to know the boy and talk to him more and who knows maybe they would find something strange or exciting
Maya looked back at the boy grabbing her sketch pad and putting it away in her bag and then putting her bag strap over one shoulder “Okay let’s go, exploring the castle it is. Where do we start?”

When Isaiah put forth his idea, Maya grabbed a pencil that was lying beside her and began to twiddle with it in her hand. Isaiah stared curiously, watching the pencil move around. She, Maya, must be considering what to say, he guessed, and hoped for the best as he watched her.
“Okay let’s go, exploring the castle it is. Where do we start?”
When Maya spoke, Isaiah instantly felt two emotions run through him. The first was relief, not only because it would've been incredibly awkward if the Hufflepuff had said no, and Isaiah wasn't completely sure of what he would've said if the situation had arised.
The second was confusion. Maya's question, where do we start, was a good question, but Isaiah had absolutely no idea how to answer that question. Here, he guessed. They could make their way down the corridor and see what they found. But what if they didn't find anything? Maya would think that he's a complete weirdo. As he thought, Isaiah realized that the silence in the room was steadily growing. Not wanting things to become weird, he answered at least the first part of Maya's answer.
"Awesome!" he said enthusiastically, trying to buy time. "We could start... um here... and then we'll go to..." he paused, furiously thinking, and, finally, a place hit him.
The trophy room of course! Located on the third floor, Isaiah had visited the place many times, mesmerized by the trophies gleaming in their cases. The room was right next to the armour gallery, which was prefect for exploring, and even if the two didn't manage to find anything, they could always just admire the trophies next door.
"The trophy room," he told Maya. "It's right next to the armour gallery, and that place is perfect for exploring. There's always something interesting there. What do you think?"
OCC: If our character decide to explore the trophy room, do you want to move the thread to the trophy room and continue it there?

After Maya answered they both just sat there for a moment Maya assumed the boy was thinking she hoped she wasn’t asking too many questions Maya she should of suggested a place in the castle but Maya hadn’t been to many places in the castle so she would of probably got them lost after them both not speaking for a few minutes and the library started to get quite quiet the boy spoke
Maya started thinking about what the trophy room was like wondering what if they did find something would it be dangerous or lead to nothing, Maya turned back to the boy “Lead the way”
Isaiah said enthusiastically and then he spoke againAwesome!
the boy said pausing in between his words he thought again for a short moment bringing the silence between them back Maya wondered if she should say something or just let him thinkWe could start... um here... and then we’ll go to...
The boy said putting emphasis on ‘always’ Maya wondered trying to remember where the trophy room was but she had never been so even if they didn’t find something she would still find it interesting to admire all the trophy’s “It sounds like fun, the trophy room it is” she paused “Good idea” she said with a smile, Maya clutched her bag strap and stood up she waited for the boy looking out the window at the lake watching it ripple and wave as the water droplets fell downThe trophy room, it’s right next to the armoured gallery, and that place is perfect for exploring. OOC: Yeah I think making another thread in the trophy room would be a good idea instead of just using this library one
