Who's Studious?
@Calvon Faux
Date: December 16th, 2020With the winter break right around the corner and tests and projects being thrown at her in every direction Adlai was quite overwhelmed. Perhaps the tension she felt between her brows and in the deepest nooks and crannies of her shoulders would disappear if she would be able to see a friend, but they were all probably as busy as she was, and she didn't want to bother them with her own whining about the school work she had been procrastinating to do since the beginning of the week.
Yes, she was very much so not the studious type. She blamed it on her father, who wasn't any better than her, in fact he was far worse. Whenever her mother would want to quiz her father on his Arabic vocabulary he'd run and hide as though he was a toddler running from his mother so that he didn't have to take a bath. To her and her younger sisters it was hilarious to watch, but it drove her mother insane. Perhaps that's how her teachers felt whenever students didn't do their work.
Nonetheless, Adlai had holed herself up in the library for the past two hours with out writing anymore than four sentences. It was a large accomplishment for her since the other day she didn't write a single work or number onto her paper. But, at the rate she was going she'd be in the library for much, much longer that day. Knowing this she let out a groan before laying her head on the table where she sat.
