It was traditional for the Moonstars to hold large family reunion on christmas day, like ay typical family. May remembered the traditions, that till that year had been held upon her house. She remembered her grandfather, old as he was, giving each and every member of his living family a lottery ticket every christmas. She remembered her mother's bonanzas, their sweet smell filling the room with a christmassy air. Of course, there was the present too, which would be every childs favourite part of the holyday, ready to be unwrapped. She remembered her father giving her a brand new, leather covered book, only for her. It was as thought the family had never been cracked up, as thought they were happy again...

And all of this was happening all over again. And it was never going to end.

That was part of the reason May was coming to the library that day with her bag not full of books, but full of crafting materials. That very day, a handsome owl (but tired) landed straight in front of her holding a small enveloped with her secret santa operation in it. May did not know much of the person, but yet again she was not going to tell whom it was. It was a secret santa after all.

She arrived at the library at 11am, and spotted a girl with strawberry blonde hair that May immediately recognized. It was Scarlett Aden, a girl that she had met somewhere that they both should never had been. Scarlett was the kind of person May liked from the start, so she embraced the opportunity to go talk to her immediately.

"Hi Scarlett!" May said cheerfully, dropping her too-full bag on top of the wooden table. "Mind if I join? I'm doing the secret Santa errand now. I will probably do something crafty. What about you? You are participating, right?"

Afterwards, may took out of her bag all of the crafting items she had: Scissors, crafting paper, white paper, glitter, washi-tape, and things like that (ooc: you can add any kind of material you want). Her goal was to make her secret santa like her back. And that was definitely happening.

@May Moonstar

So she was at it again, signing up for yet another thing that she would procrastinate until the last minute. Secret Santa - a Muggle tradition where all who signed up would be given a person to give a gift to. No one would know the person except you, and you were expected to get them a present, mysteriously signed 'Your Secret Santa' by Christmas. The nice librarian had set up the event this time, and since Scarlett had nothing better to do and the librarian was incredibly friendly, she decided to sign up. She barely knew her Secret Santa, but that didn't mean she was going to try. She waltzed into the library to start crafting when she realised that - shock horror - she had no supplies! Another sign of her idiocy and forgetfulness, though idiocy was crossing the line a bit...right?

Anyway, she couldn't turn back now and look like a dunce. Her stride never broke as she stupidly sauntered into the library without anything in her hands as others chattered away, crafting their presents. There was a rule that you couldn't buy the present, which hindered Scarlett greatly. Ah well - she would try her best and see how that went.

Scarlett glanced around the library before sighing and sitting down at a table looking like an idiot. She began to think of what she could make her Secret Santa, and then maybe she could go back to the Gryffindor Common Room to dig stuff up from her trunk. She found it too insulting to her pride to ask Miss Finley - the librarian - for help again. Scarlett had already asked her for help once and that was hard. Surely, if she did it twice, Miss Finley would think her an idiot. Oh hell to the no.

She was beginning to brainstorm when a cheerful voice called her name. She looked up and saw a blonde girl - May Moonstar! They had chattered in classes and sometimes paired up, talking in the halls and generally being friendly. Scarlett didn't know May exceptionally well, but she wouldn't shrink away from the chance to get to know her. Scarlett gave May a happy way, before saying, "Oh, hi May! Course you can join me. I'm doing it as well but - er - I don't know my Secret Santa that well and I don't exactly have supplies."

She laughed nervously before taking a glance at May's box of craft materials. Should she do it? Should she not? Well, she had to do it. Where else would she get supplies?

"Would you mind if I...borrowed some craft materials?" she asked. Weakly, but politely. Her mind screamed 'INSULTED PRIDE, INSULTED PRIDE, INSULTED PRIDE.' but she shoved it off. She needed to learn how to be less stubborn.

"Well, thats the reason I brought supplies! We can surely share." May said, pointing at the bag that was on the table. One by one, she took out some supplies so that they could both make something out of it. "I don't know my secret santa much either. I only met her once, and it was an awkward moment. But I'm sure that I can make up to them by making a cute present!" she said, ending the sentence cheerfully. Her secret Santa wasnt exacly a friend to her, but she didnt want to reveal to much to Scarlett. After all, it was secret.

When she finished taking out the supplies, she rubbed her hands togheter and sat down. "So...I think I know my secret santa enough to make them a small present. Or big enough for their liking..." she took a deep breath. How difficult it was to keep this thing secret! All of her life, May hadnt stopped lying and telling tales, and now, she was having difficulties with not saying whom her secret santa was. What a life!

The Hufflepuff sighed, and looked at the crafting supplies. Suddenly, the Hufflepuff thoughts came into flashbacks of all the crafts she had done before with her sister and family. She had always been a crafter, and all of these thoughts that were racing into her mind at that moment made the small badger feel much more hopeful about doing a nice thing for her secret santa. May took the scissors and began to craft.

She picked up some green polymer clay that was laying on the table, and made a fat-worm like figure out of it. Afterwards, she made two more of them, the clay feeling soft on her hands. Every movement she made, rolling the clay on the table back and forth, making it smooth or round...May made it cautiously, and most importantly thinking about the person she would give the clay sculpture to.

Afterwards, she took the two smaller pieces of clay and put them in each side of the bogger sclupture, and curved them a little. The sculpture now looked much more like a cactus, which was what May intended to do.

Then, the badger took a white piece of polymer clay and made a ball with it, carefully turning it into the shape of a bowl afterwards. picking up another piece of brown clay this time, she made a line all around the bowl, and pressed it togheter.

Picking up the cactus, she pressed the bottom of the clay-made plant onto the clay-made bowl, so that it would look like a cactus on a bowl. Afterwards, May added a black smile and two small black eyes onto the figure. Perfect...or almost.

"Something is missing, right?" she asked her partner, looking intently at her creation. "I mean...It is supposed to be cute, and I think that it is cute, but it is supposed to be twice as cute as that, right?"

May looked at the polymer clay that was still laying on the table, looking intently at the colours. She wanted this to be perfect. It had to be perfect. And May knew just what to do.

She took some pink clay and some yellow clay, and carefully modeled it into a flower. She added it onto the side of the cactus's supposed to be ear side, and observed her finished creation. "Et voila!" the girl said triumphantly, smiling. She loved how it looked cute, and also useful.

May rummaged into her bag and took out a small box of red in which inside laid a ring. It was one of those that scrolled up in your finger, one which May really liked. It had some cute little diamond flowers in it. Quite reluctantly May gave it away and perched it onto one of the clay cactus's branches.

"Well, I guess I'm finished." May said, letting out a sigh. "And what have you done, Scar?"

@May Moonstar

Scarlett exhaled, giving a sigh of relief. She was able to do the errand after all, and her Secret Santa wouldn't go without a gift this Christmas. Maybe she would get a chance to chat with May as well. Scarlett didn't know the Hufflepuff very well, though they chatted in the corridors and bumped into each other ocassionally. This was her chance to get to know the girl a bit more.

"Thanks a bunch!" said Scarlett, smiling at May. "Yeah, I don't think I've even met my Secret Santa before...maybe once or twice though. I didn't know what to think of them, but they seem like an alright sort of person!"

Scarlett watched May take her supplies out of the bag with satisfaction. May was incredibly well-equipped, and Scarlett's mind started whirling with possibilities of gift ideas that she could make for her Secret Santa.

"Ha, I don't really, but I'll try and make them something nice," mused Scarlett, in response to May's statement.

As string, washi tape, beads and cheap plastic gems came tumbling out of the bag, Scarlett had the thought. She loved it when that happened - Muggles called it their Eureka moment. When you were focusing and thinking incredibly hard, and finally, the answer you were wating for came to you in a massive revelation.

"Wait, I have an idea-" said Scarlett hurriedly, as she reached out to gather the string, the beads, the cheap plastic gems.

Scarlett wasn't sure how big to make it, but necklaces could be as loose or tight as the wearer or the maker wanted them to be. It wasn't like a choker, a bracelet or a ring, because they needed to be sized. Necklaces were versatile and simpler, which was exactly why Scarlett chose them. Now, Scarlett wasn't exactly a master craftswoman, but she could work with her hands fairly well, what with her experience in schemes, pranks and plots. Scarlett chose a nice gold and particularly shimmery piece of long string from her resources and tied a quick, strong knot at one end. She didn't want the necklace to be too heavy, so only picked a few, select gems that seemed to be sleek and light enough to not be uncomfortable, but still give off a good look, a polished finish. There were a few round black ones, and a few longer, more shapely yellow ones.

Scarlett threaded them all on in a specific pattern - she would thread a black one, a yellow one, a black one, then tie a knot. Then tie another knot a few centimetres up and repeat the pattern. She did it again and again until the string was complete with a recurring view of black and yellow, which Scarlett was rather proud of. She had completed it quickly and easily, but it still looked rather good.

The girl tied the necklace together with a flourish.

"And, complete!" she said, grinning. Scarlett looked over at May's creation, answering her question. "Personally, I think it's super cute, but if you want to add more, go for it!"

And at May's triumphant French shout, which was the same as hers, but in French, May finished her piece. Scarlett looked over again and her eyes grew wide. "Oh my - Merlin - it's beautiful! And not to mention adorable. Your Secret Santa is gonna love it," said Scarlett. "Whaddya think of mine?"

May added some cute rings to the cactus, a bit reluctantly, Scarlett observed and so their gifts were complete. "We've both finished then," said Scarlett, smiling gratefully at the Hufflepuff. "I made a little necklace, thanks to you. Seriously though, I really appreciate you lending me some materials."

Scarlett helped May clean up the stuff and took her present in her hand. "Thanks for all this May! I hope we can see each other again soon," Scarlett said, with a smile. She hugged the Hufflepuff girl even though physical affection wasn't her style, and exited the library.
