To Throw or Not To Throw
@Allie Lewis come join me!
Scarlett was having a bad day. Sure, people all had these days, but Scarlett wasn't really the type to get into a mood and sulk - which was why today was a rare ocassion. Today, for the first time, she felt left out. Yes, the social lioness - left out. It had started when she had received a quick owl from her friends back home in Godric's Hollow (they were home-schooled like a lot of the wizarding population) detailing what fun they had at home, and how they had pulled off an epic prank and dyed their hair.
Scarlett, dear! The letter had said. Yes, they now called her 'dear' because they were oh so grown-up. We are simply having the most marvellous time! We managed to prank that grumpy geezer down the street and dye our hair blue! The colour works sooo well with blonde.
Red doesn't work well with anything, scowled Scarlett. Can't dye my hair so my friends don't. The second I'm gone and BOOM.
However, that wasn't the worst of it. Apparently, a new girl had moved into Godric's Hollow, right in the middle of where all her friends lived. Scarlett still lived in Godric's Hollow, but further away from the main area of houses. Her mother 'hadn't wanted to live near common scum' and had a new house built away from the bustling centre to Scarlett's distaste. This happened before her mother withdrew to the room, of course.
Anyway, back to it. The new girl was a redhead - way to make her feel even worse - and had all of Scarlett's recklessness with added intelligence and beauty. Her name was Georgia Flowers (stupid name) and most people in Godric's Hollow seemed to adore her. Georgia had quickly been sworn into the troop and almost as quickly became one of the more favoured members. This was tipping the balance - troop members were supposed to be equal. Some Georgia girl couldn't just flounce along and become a 'higher-up' and 'well-respected' member in two days. Apparently Georgia was sassy and charming and pretty and smart and brave. Scarlett scowled at the thought again. Everything she couldn't be.
Scarlett had retreated to the library after screaming in her pillow and punching the walls to let her anger out. The library was a serene place and would hopefully calm her down. As her footsteps quietly padded along, Scarlett searched the shelves for anything of interest. Suddenly, a picture of a prettier, smarter and generally better version of her popped in her head - Georgia - and Scarlett clenched her fists, hatred for the stupid, stupid girl boiling inside of her.
It was safe to say Scarlett Evelyn Aden was in a foul mood.

To Throw or Not To Throw
It was the first time Allie's day took a turn for the worst when she stepped into the Library. Everything started out fine of course, but then. . . well, things went downhill very quickly.
For the majority of the morning, Allie had stayed in the Ravenclaw Common Room, writing letters to her family back home and reading. By lunch, she had written one long, long letter to her family and finished two of the books she had gotten a day ago, so she decided to stop by the Library to look for more.
Outside the castle the weather was quite warm, so the Library was nice and quiet. Only a few students were still roaming the halls, the rest had gone outside to enjoy the pleasant day. Allie smiled as she pushed open the Library doors and slipped inside the large room. Inside, there were shelves upon shelves of books, so Allie never had to worry she would read them all (something she worried about constantly before coming to Hogwarts). Browsing the racks of stories that surrounded her, Allie quickly chose a few and settled down into a cushioned chair in the quietest corner of the room and opened the first book to the starting page, letting herself fall into the story.
A few minutes later, Allie was startled by loud stomping noises coming from nearby. Frowning, she stood up to go see what was going on - and was soon face to face with a fuming red haired girl who seemed a little older than Allie.
"Can you please be a little quieter?" She asked, as politely as she could, but there was a subtle hint of annoyance in her voice. "It's a little hard to read. . ."

Scarlett scanned the bookshelves for anything she could read. She had brought quills in a vintage satchel (her aunt slash godmother had bought it in a store in Godric's Hollow for her eleventh birthday) as well as a few textbooks and sheets of parchment; just in case she needed the intense pressure of homework to distract herself. Hopefully that would be uncalled for - she loathed homework but when it needed to be done, it needed to be done. Detention was not the most appealing option even though Scarlett had landed herself in it quite a few too many times for some people's liking.
Scarlett was still seething as another girl came round the corner to her private little area. The girl was admittedly pretty for one of her age (which was not uncommon - Hogwarts seemed to be full of future models) and had wavy, brown hair, chocolate-brown eyes and was quite tall for how much younger (okay, it wasn't that much) she looked compared to Scarlett. The girl's hair was in a neat braid and and she wore a silver chain with a sky-blue star on it - it looked like turquoise, or sapphire, or aquamarine, or lapis lazuli, or-
The girl had just told Scarlett if she could be a little quieter. So she could read.
Couldn't she see how much of a mood Scarlett was in? Did she really have to say it with an edge of annoyance?
Scarlett had never really saw sense when mad, and the slightest provoking could set her off in a temper like this. She tried to stay calm.
"Ravenclaw or something?" Scarlett lashed cuttingly. Also, deliberately loudly. "Can't you see I'm annoyed? I thought you guys were meant to be smart."
Her tone was heavy with snark and sarcasm.

To Throw or Not To Throw
Once Allie saw the girl's face and realized she was upset, she started to back away. She felt slightly bad for interrupting the other girl, but then scolded herself. If this redhead wanted to stomp around and be loud like she had been, she should have gone somewhere else!
Glancing back up at the other girl, Allie noticed that she was looking her over. Raising one eyebrow at the girl, she started to say something. "I - " Before she could though, the seething girl cut her off.
"Ravenclaw or something?" The girl asked. Allie started to nod but stopped, noticing the snide tone of voice the redhead had used. Sure enough, an insult came flying at her. "Can't you see I'm annoyed? I thought you guys were meant to be smart." Allie bit her lip, trying not to get unnecessarily mad, but couldn't help herself.
"Excuse me," Allie said, in a way that showed she didn't mean it at all. "We are in a library if you haven't noticed, and that means you should have been being quiet." Taking a short breath, Allie wanted to take back her words, knowing it would only lead to worse things, but they had already been said. There was just something about this girl that was so. . . frustrating.
Allie twirled a strand of hair around her fingertip, waiting. Her eyes roamed to the shelves, and she noticed a book with a gorgeous lilac cover.

"I will do what I want to, thank you very much," hissed the redhead.
Scarlett did not like this girl's attitude. In her eyes, this rather cocky first-year was too full of herself. She was too pretty, too arrogant and too annoying. And to make matters worse, the younger girl wasn't even looking at her! Twirling her hair round her finger like a stuck-up brat, chocolate-brown eyes (why did they have to have almost the same eye colour?) glancing towards a particularly beautiful book on the library shelves with a lilac cover and gold swirls. Scarlett's own dark eyes flickered towards the object of this girl's attention as an idea started to form in her mind. Scarlett had a habit of acting on impulse and making enemies far too quickly. Perhaps she shouldn't have done what she did. But Scarlett didn't have time to think. It seemed like she never did.
Pushing past the brunette with only a goal to annoy the first-year in mind, Scarlett snatched the book from the shelves. If this girl wanted the book, she would have to get it. Scarlett only hoped the other girl would be curious enough about the book to try. She stood by the shelf, a taunting sparkle dancing in her eyes.
"Doesn't this book look lovely?" remarked Scarlett. "I saw you looking at it, you cretin. If you want it, come and get it."
The Gryffindor was being particularly stupid today, but she decided not to process that. For now, Scarlett wanted this first-year girl to be angry as a sneer-like expression curled on her lips. She looked positively malevolent and was barely restraining her anger. On a normal day, the redhead would have already exploded and pulled out her wand, ready to hex this girl so far into tomorrow she would be elderly and miserable. Yet today was not a normal day.ReducioSo excited to get started again! Are you alright with this date?

----------------------------------------
She knew she had gone too far. The redhead in front of her was spitting mad and there didn't seem to be a way to calm her down. "I will do what I want to, thank you very much," came the hissed reply from the older girl. Allie's attention settled on the student in front of her again, but her mind was still on the book. There was something about it that made her want to look at it. . . and the Gryffindor seemed to realize this. The first year could almost see the wheels turning in the redhead's brain as she watched her look at the very same book, a dangerous gleam in her eyes.
"What are you doing?" Allie's voice was sharp as the girl shoved past her with her arm outstretched. The Ravenclaw wasn't thinking straight, and so she didn't completely realize what the other student was up to until she spun around with the book clutched tightly in her hand and a challenge in her words. "You - " The first year stopped herself right on time. The cruel look on the older girl's face was enough to tell her it wouldn't be smart to accuse her of anything, and yet. . . oh how she wanted to! Still, she reasoned with herself, maybe they could just talk it all over. . . and plus, was that book really worth it? It's not just the book, Allie finally realized. It's the challenge.
The Gryffindor had challenged her, and here she was, just mulling everything over. Sooner or later, (most likely sooner) the girl was going to get more annoyed than she already was and do something to Allie that she wouldn't like. The eleven year old had two options, fight or flight, but it was pretty obvious that both options were going to end in a disaster. So why not fight? If both are going to end terribly. . . The Ravenclaw wanted to hit something. . . or someone. Just why did she have to come into the Library today, of all days?
"Can we just please talk things over?" she ended up asking. Allie was getting desperate. . . and she didn't like the feeling.Note: Yes, the date is perfect! And sorry that not much action is happening yet, Allie needs to get a little more annoyed before she even attempts to fight someone. . . so please annoy her more!

"What am I doing?" asked Scarlett innocently, running a finger down the spine of the book. It was an incredibly pretty edition, she had to admit. The rustic book smell that radiated from its smooth pages combined with the almost glowing-in-radiance cover made Scarlett want to put the book somewhere it deserved to be, like a glassy gold-tinted case. "What am I doing? Just admiring this lovely book. Might check this one out, so I can keep it for a while. Too bad you can't."
She smirked, a taunting, cat-like smile. The girl had crossed the line, getting on her nerves whilst she was already fuming. A small, noble part of her told her to quit it, but most of her mind was currently screaming 'kill the impetuous child!'. It wasn't like the first-year had done anything wrong, oh no. She had just been unlucky enough to stumble upon a Very Angry Scarlett and consequently became Scarlett's personal counsellor - one you could pour all of your emotions to. In a spectacularly angry and violent way, of course.
"You what?" furthered Scarlett, in response to the impertinent first-year's dangling comment. "Too scared to insult me? If you're going to do it, say it to my face! Don't keep it to yourself like a cowardly little mouse."
Merlin this was getting annoying. Why wasn't the kid being riled up? Why wasn't she mad? Having a full-on shouting match would be better than a little do-gooder who wanted to talk about - to talk about...
"Feelings," spat Scarlett in disgust. "We are currently in a rather negative situation - if you couldn't see - and you want to talk about feelings."
"Let me consider that offer," thought Scarlett in mock-concentration. She cackled like an evil queen. Not too shabby. "How about no. How dumb are you?"────── ☆ ───────
