Love Note Leavers
Thread for Love Notes Leavers Errand.
A small section of the library had been converted slightly to a writing space for students. There were a few large tables situated around the area where students could gather in groups and write together. On the side of the wall, there were some private desks, for anyone who wanted to write alone and not have someone be able to peak over their shoulder. There were also a few bean bags, with clipboards nearby for students who wanted to get a little more comfortable. Near each of the spots and on all of the large tables, there was a stack of parchment and some writing materials. Quills, ink bottles, muggle stationery - including glitter glue or brush pens - were set up for student use.
Floating near the wall, there was a large sign that read "#SendALetterDay" on it. Students were invited to write and send their letters, to as many people as they wanted. She kind of wanted them to spread good vibes around the castle but they were also free to write back home or to other relatives or friends. At the end of the day, she just wanted them to write.
Writing was a good form of self-care. And writing letters? It helped them to reach out to others, connect with them and brighten up their day. Receiving a letter was among one of the greatest small moments of joys in life. The act itself was so small. It was easy to do. But it showed that someone was thinking of you, that they cared and loved you. It would bring a smile to people's faces, even when they were sitting alone or feeling a little down.
Hjørdis sat on the end of one of the large tables, intentionally. She would definitely have preferred to sit in the private booth and write but the whole point of the day was to show a presence and to encourage students to express themselves or to focus on the good. This could only be done if she took part in the exercises too and made herself a little more approachable.

Hjørdis looked around the writing section and nodded firmly. It was set up to her liking, she just actually people would actually wish to attend. A lot had happened over the past few months and taking a little bit of time out to write home or to each other was only helpful. Honestly, the hardest part of writing any letter was trying to figure out who to send it to. At least, that was the case in her writings. A part of her wanted to write to her family. But, she was trying to encourage students to write to each other. She ought to pick people within the walls of this castle too. It only made sense.
She stared at the blank page, wondering who would be the first victim to receive her letter. Her eyes scanned the library for some inspiration. Perhaps she would see someone or something that might be helpful. The books gave her an idea. Alchemy! Picking up a piece of parchment and a quill, she started to write in black ink.
Hjørdis took some to actually write the letter, pausing every few moments to figure out what to write. She wanted to ask that he was well, in good health and there had been no further developments with the hags - at least, nothing bad. Whilst they had not spoken about it much since their last meeting - the Professor meeting - she was hopeful that he was, at the very least, feeling a bit better.Zahid,
I hope this letter finds you and Dot in good health. Have there been any further developments since we last met?
On a more positive note, however, I was wondering if you had a book on the History of Muggle Alchemy? I found a small one some time ago, which I found rather interesting and it reminded me of a question I have had for a while now. From my understanding, it was quite the common practice throughout various parts of Asia and Europe, as well as Africa. I grew up learning more about Africa and the history of muggles and wizards within the continent. It would be fascinating to broaden that knowledge to Asia or Europe. If you have any suggestions, please do let me know.
Give Dot an extra hug from me.
Kind regards,
H. Jensen
P.S. Caradoc was asking about the History of Corsets the other day. I thought he should ask you. If you have a book on muggle fashion, please do send it to him.
Dot was also one of the cutest cats - outside of Jeger, of course. She just had to send her love to him too.
After signing her name, she allowed the letter to dry before folding it. A moment later, however, she suddenly unfolded it as an idea came to her. In order to raise some spirits, she decided to add a final P.S. to the end of the letter. This was something that she had been doing since she first met Caradoc and Zahid. Caradoc lied to her on their first meeting just to avoid doing some work and Hjørdis was totally happy to make him suffer from awkward moments as a result of that. She smirked a little as she looked at it before putting it to the side. She had more to write, after all.

Abit hesitant, Nico opened the doors of the Library. Her eyes glancing up at the ceiling high bookcases as she gently closed the door. It had been awhile since she'd been here. Nothing had changed. Except. A small section had been turned into a write friendly environment. #SendALetterDay? Quite interesting that they had a day specifically for this.
Cautiously, the dhampir took a look at the many kinds of stationary. Nico wasn't really much of a writer. The owls she sent to her parents were quite short and straight to the point. But maybe this time she could write a more... detailed one. Before she was determined to follow through with that idea, she noticed her Head of House, Professor Jensen. A soft blush zoomed onto her face, not just because she felt exposed, but seeing the way Hjordis wrote with a Quill in such a refined manner, truly made her wish she could be like her. So collected and calm.
It reminded the redhead of the first time she met her. It was at this camping site where many students could sleep together in sleeping bags underneath the open sky. The Professor had baked many cupcakes and muffins for the students to feed on. And Nico could swear... even her mothers pastries couldn't compare to the balance of sweetness that engulfed the cakes. Maybe... Maybe she could write a thank you-letter to her. Yes!
Motivated, Nico speedwalked to a chair, one across the Professor. Honestly, why did she always put herself in this situations? To challenge herself. The prefect was shy and felt abit cautious around Professor Jensen. Not that she could help it. Adults who had a certain authority naturally intimidated the little girl. Don't panic. Just... write. After casting some nervous glances at the Professor, Nico took a piece of paper and a Quill, quielty scratching across the paper:
And there it was. Was this truly okey? Wasn't this too much? A slight panic creeped onto Nico's back, reaching nearly to her neck. Now, to hand it over to the Professor. Slowely, Nico looked over to the other side of the table. With her best folding skills, Nico put the letter in an envelop, to then carefully pull out her wand. Sliding it across the table would be rough. She feared she'd push it too hard, sending the letter flying, maybe across the Profs face. NO WAY. TOO RISKY. But... if she pushed it too gentle, the possibility was there, that the letter would lose speed halfway the table. Just imagening it, herself trying to reach for the paper, with her thin fingers, to then maybe pull a muscle or fall onto the table, disrupting the Professor... No no. She'd try something more delicate. What would Professor Jensen do?Dear Professor Jensen,
Here I am writing a letter to you. I never really got a chance to tell you how much I loved your cupcakes. Remember? The ones you prepared for the Camping we did a year ago. I only got in school briefly and everything was new and scary. I didn't really have any friends. I think the only one I had was a Gryffindor, Hugh Lowe. He had approached me at the Great Lake once and treated me like a person. Isn't that nice?
But this letter isn't for him. This is for you. Those cakes, tasted so good! They felt so warm. Not just because they were actually warm, but because I could taste how much love you put in them. At the time, those cupcakes made me so happy and not alone. I felt safe knowing that you are my Head of House. That even though you don't smile that often, atleast your heart still knows how to.
I hope I wasn't too imposing writing this.
Friendly humble greetings,
Nico Shymane -
P.S. I really admire the way you write and how you can be so calm. I aspire to be such a fine lady like you one day.
Slowely, Nico pulled out her wand and aimed it at her letter. Swishing and flicking the wand, she whispered: 'Wingardium Leviosa'. Light as a feather, she directed the letter to float over to the opposite side. Everything was going swell. No errors. A soft smile slid upon her face. How impressed would the Prof be?
FLOP
It was close to perfect. However, distracted by her own excitement, the letter didn't end up on the table next to Hjordis...
But on top of her head.
Nico quickly put her hands on her mouth, turning beetred. How could she not forsee this?! How embarassing! The dhampir wished she could just melt to the floor and slosh away. But it was too late... Trying to not be obvious and panicking, she hid her wand and took the first book she could find. Opening it up infront of her. Yet, if the professor looked closely, she'd notice the girl was reading the book upside down...

Damion had been feeling home sick lately. He had been here for a while now. it was something he was new and struggling with. He didn't want to sound upset as he was really enjoying his time here but still there was a part of him that wished that he could stop missing his parents. A young boy of eleven, was studying magic in this pristine school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was happy but yet a little home sick.@Hjørdis Jensen
He made his way to the library with his quill and parchment to write a letter to his parents. He was wearing something that reminded him of his time home. he was wearing the white shirt with a smile face on it, that was embroidered by his mum and a pair of green jeans. He saw Prof. Hjørdis Jensen sitting there. He walked up to her and smiled at her. "Good day Professor Jensen!" Damion said with an acknowledging nod of his head. Now that he had acknowledged the professor there, he took a seat near the professor- after leaving a four seats in between them. He put the parchment in front of him, looked at the paper. He was going to write the letter to his parents ergo the only family he had for now. Taking the blue ink he started writing on the paper.
He smiled as he finished the letter and was feeling happy that he had gotten around to writing to his parents. He had to do this ever since he had gotten here. He was happy that he had written to them.𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘔𝘶𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘢𝘥,

Lizzie decided it was finally time to write the first letter of the year. She knew the letter would never be finished unless she had no other choice but to finish it. That was the whole plan. She would be sat in an area where no one could disturb her and she would write.
The Ravenclaw sat down at a table. The table was quite spacious with a few seats around it including Lizzie's. She looked down at the table, blankly. I knew I shouldn't have come here. Lizzie knew that her plan would never go through. Lizzie sighed and rested her head on her hand. I'm here now. There is defiantly no going back.
Lizzie grabbed a quill, some parchment and an bottle of ink. She dipped the quill into the ink bottle carefully. Who should I write to and what about? She thought and holding the quill above the parchment letting the ink drop ,slowly, onto it.
"Oh darn!" She whispered to herself and tried to wipe it up with her robe only smearing it more. She sighed once again and decided to write what she thought would be appropriate.
Lizzie placed er quill down and took a breath. That took more than twenty minutes and it was a load of rubbish! I was always better at writing lyrics. She thought and folded the parchment up. She looked at this and mumbled, "Might as well send it. I could just re-tell them in person if they don't get it."Dear Cassie,
I am writing to you from that area in the Library where you write to other students (That was obvious). Well, I've come to tell you about anything. Anything being from how you are a good friend to planning our next 'thing' (You know what I mean).
Let's start off with saying hello. Hi. Yes I could literally just say that to your face but I'm lazy and don't want to walk to wherever you are (Probably your common room). We need to sort out a place where we can meet that is easy for you, me and Blake since we are in different houses.
Next of, we need to plan for the little fiasco that is mean to be happening in the Corridors. With the home-made things and throwing them. We should really make code-names for these just in case the letters get intercepted.
Lastly, I am writing about how to write a letter. What should I normally put in it? This seems stupid I write everyday. i just can't structure out a letter properly. Please help. I really need to send a letter to family (I should but it will never be sent anyway) and I can begin how to tell them what I've been doing. They would be so disappointed but proud at the same time. It's complicated.
-Lizzie Rose Verdine (Yes I sign of with my full name)
P.S I really really hope this letter doesn't get intercepted.
Lizzie squeezed her eyes shut and really didn't want anyone to think she was weird because she was asking about how to write a stupid letter when she wrote lyrics every other day. She quickly stood up and walked out the Library with the letter still in her hand.

The next letter he was going to write was to his best friend, Dylan Rhys, who was living in Gresford, Wales. But he wanted to wait for a while before he wrote to him. He had to gather his thoughts on what he wanted his best friend to know. He was very excited to be here at Hogwarts and wanted to tell his friend about how he was feeling here. He missed Dyl but he knew that he had to get over that fact and wanted to be happy being here. He wanted to let Dyl know that he had not forgotten about the time he had spent back home.
Thinking of all the adventures that he had here so far, decorating the cookies or decorating cupcakes- those were somethings that he used to do with his friend. He wanted to let him know about his adventures here and hoped that Dylan- his best friend from home was doing okay. He was a little worried about his friend as they had been connected to the hip back when they were back at home. He wanted to make sure that Dylan was doing okay with him. Damion was collecting his thoughts and writing the things he needed to tell Dylan about on a paper before he would be writing the actual letter he wanted to write down his adventures for him to know.

Sitting down to write a letter was something River hadn’t done in a long time. She’d been far to busy with other things like school work and clubs and such. Now, it was time to sit down with a quill, some ink and a parchment to simply write. She had made her way down the corridors and she walked quickly in through the library doors. The smell of parchment and dusty books was very familiar. She really enjoyed the library, it was nice and calm, perfect for some mindful writing. And since more people were gathering to write together, it would feel way less lonely than sitting in the common room next to a table all alone.
River noticed Professor Jensen sitting with a few other students, and she walked up to sit on a chair not too far away. “Hello Professor Jensen”, she said and gave Nora a smile. She also smiled to the rest of the people sitting there as she quietly placed her bag down on the floor next to her chair. She pulled out her ink and parchment along with her quill. The ravenclaws eyes rested on a candle as her mind tried to make up who she would write a letter to first. River had decided to go there with no specific plan, but rather to just go with what felt right in the moment. There were a couple people she had wanted to send letters to for a while, and now she finally had the time to. Most letters she wrote went to her father, and she thought she would begin with writing him a letter. She truly hoped he was doing alright in these times, and she could imagine him sitting in his office all day, drowning in work and coffee. That's one letter down out of, well she hadn't decided how many she'd write yet. She carefully folded the parchment and put it aside in her bag. There was one friend she had been dying to talk to for a while, so she had one more letter in mind. That was her plan for now.Dear dad
I really hope you are doing well at home. It’s been a while since I heard from you, but I can imagine it’s because you are very busy with work. I just wanted to give you a little update on how things are going here. It has been some time since I sent you a letter too, and, well, it’s because I too am very busy lately. I’ve joined this club that arranges games we play outside on the grounds. I find it very fun to spend some time outside with my fellow students here at Hogwarts. Other than that, there is a lot of work too. You know, homework and stuff.
Sir Little-Hoot is doing well too. He likes to flutter about, and he steals my hair ties as well, which to be honest is a bit of an issue when I’m a part of that club I mentioned. My hair gets everywhere.
I do hope you get out of you office every now and then. Get some fresh air and a good meal down at least once a day please. I’m sure your work will become easier if it is not absolutely all you spend your time on. I have learned that taking breaks can improve your work immensely, so at least give it a shot.
Alright, that’s all for now, I hope I hear from you soon.

Cassie was walking some more discover the area they haven't come. Like they usually did, somehow they got lost. I should start paying attention to where I was going, Cassie thought internally. They pushed a door and was met with stacks of high racks consist of books. This must be where the library is, Cassie smile to themself.
Upon entering the room, they saw a large sign that read #SendALetterDay. Cassie knitted their eyebrow but can not help themself to walk further more. Then they saw their Head of the House and their prefect. Each of them writing down something, respectively. They also saw Lizzie. They about to approach the blond girl but decided against it.
Cassie then look around. There's a part of the room set up with bean bag and a clipboard not to far from there. Cassie about to walk to that part of the room but they changed their mind and so they took a parchment, ink and quill then Cassie take a seat on the chair that is available at the long table. Cassie stare down at the blank paper, thinking who they should write it first. Cassie sighs, pick their quill up from the table, dipped it in the ink and start writing their letter.
Once the letter done, Cassie lean back on the chair and examined it. They let the ink dry before folding it carefully and put it into the enveloped. They stood up, put the chair back in place and walk out towards the Owlery.

Dear Mother and Father
Even though you worried about me on the first place by going here, I enjoyed it immensely and just like you predicted dad, I was sorted into Slytherin just like you did back when you attended this school (no offense to Ravenclaw, mom. I still love you nonetheless).
Maybe I should tell you about the trouble I was in (yes, dad I knew it is too early for that) it just a misunderstood, I hoped. When on the journey to the school, I shared it with two soon to be Hufflepuffs and one of them decided to opened the window to saw if magic worked beyond the window. Then several moment later the train came to a halted and the conductor came charging his way to our compartment.
The poor girl stammered out her answer and I can not help myself not to helped her, I do not want the girl got into trouble. Long story short I had a little argument with the conductor, the conductor let us go at least for now. To be frank, it was exhilarating (I know for a fact you shook your head, mom).
And for lessons well I need to stop procrastinating it. I promise I will start attending my class and get good grades. I want both of you to be proud of me. I think that is it for now.
p.s : I made friends, it was a miracle! I hope this friendship will last long just like both of you have.
Your proudest gem,
Phoenix Cassandra

May was worried. What should she do?
Her mother and father would be worried if she wouldn't write a letter to them.
So she decided she would talk to...herself? Yeah, she had nobody she could talk to. And that is that.
So, she decided that she would send them a letter. Short, but full.... Of understanding.
she told her teddy bear. She picked up her bag, and zoomed to the library.
When she arrived, she saw the writing letters table. There, she could see some students and the Slytherin head of house.
"Good morning Professor" she said, and set on a chair.
She decided, that next thing she would do after writing to her mother and father would be writing to her sister and then to her aunt and then to her cousin, and then to her uncle. Yeah, that was it. Now....Dear Mother and Father,
I'm fine, if that's what you're u guys are wondering anyways. I was sorted in the best house, Hufflepuff, the house of the loyal. I'm happy here, and I would immensely love staying here on vacation, but I know you wouldn't let me stay.
I really want to talk to you guys about what is happening between us. You know what I'm talking about.
Lots of love,
MAY
Yeah, that was ok. Now, a few others to go...

Love Note Leavers
The school library was one of her favorite hangout places. No matter the time nor the weather, it was always there to welcome her. She smiled upon entering, glad to see there weren't too many there that particular day.
Alina walked across the room to the windows in the back where she liked to be and saw something new, a small area was now innovated into a writing area. Just out of curiosity, Alina walked along the area of large tables, private desks and comfortable chairs. There laid out were writing materials and some art supplies.
Her eyes then scanned across a sign and read "#SendALetterDay." It appeared that students were to send letters of kindness to others and appeared to be led by Professor Jensen that taught Flying Lessons. Alina enjoyed her class...but also envied her for being the Head of Slytherin, the house she wished to have been in.
Alina left the area and went back to her own little sofa along the edge of the library, lit by one of the windows that overlooked the beautiful grounds. Spreading kindness. How Hufflepuff. Professor Browne probably had something to do with this.
She pulled up her back and opened it, ensuring that her school uniform tie stay hidden. It really didn't matter by now though. Everyone knew who she was. She was the girl sorted into Hufflepuff for her sass from Day 1 of Hogwarts. She was the girl that insulted almost the entire school. She was the very with very few friends, spending her days alone, being mocked, laughed at, ridiculed.
...She was the sort of person who could use such kindness. Were there others like her? Maybe they could use an encouraging word...
She pulled out a notepad she had in her bag and decided that she would write some of these notes to spread around the castle. Maybe someone spent their days as lonely as she was and could use a kind word. Her first note would be placed anonymously right there in the library.
