May had a very joyful day, but now, it had suddenly got down. Homework. And even worse, Astronmy...May would've loved a good laugh to enjoy her Astronomy homework. After all, she didn't love it. Nor liked it. She hated it. Yes, hate was the word.

She runned to the library. She wanted to finish fast, so that she could go to the lake next and at last relax with archery.....

She had her diary in her hand too, because she couldn't leave a place without it. It wasn't technically a diary. It was more of a book of herself. Of the Moonstar family. But it wasn't time to think about that. May only wanted to finish the Astronomy homework!

There were lots of people in the library. Some of them were, like May, finishing their homework, and others were only reading a good book.

"Oops" May absolutely didn't want the librarian to 'Shush' her again, but May accidentally let her bag fall to the ground with a loud 'THUMP'. And, as you may know, the librarian immediately 'Shushed' May. May could only mutter "Sorry" and organize the table she was seating on and finish her homework. Oh, how May would enjoy a good laugh....

Ariana was already in a furious temper. Her knees were bloody and scratched and her hair slightly more ruffled than usual, but she had hardly noticed amidst the bubbling hatred that was now brewing in the pit of her stomach. She had passed stupid Skylor Evans on the way to her dormitory, her sworn enemy. Could that girl get any worse? In Ariana’s hurry she hadn’t noticed where she was running until she had tripped over something, more like Sky’s outstretched leg. The gryffindor had indeed looked up to see the familiar smirking, arrogant face of none other than the most annoying girl she had ever met. After a full blown argument and dodged jinxes that had sent various colored sparks ricocheting off the innocent castle walls, she had stormed away furiously, her bag half ripped open and her shirt hanging out more loosely than usual.

After grabbing a selection of books from her dormitory, repairing her bag with a simple charm and storming back down the stairs, Ariana had started off to the library, a late night study session it was going to be. The door nearly bounced off its hinges as Ariana marched fiercely in, earning a disapproving look from the librarian and many confused glances from the various students working. She made her way to a random table, slamming her books down and huffing angrily as she plonked herself down in the chair gathering her thoughts for a second. She really needed to learn to control her emotions. The feeling had started to make its way back, a steady throb began to pulse in her knees as the angry thoughts ebbed away slowly, now leaving the injuries screaming in protest. She hadn’t even noticed her eyes were closed. She opened them, her lashes tickling the lids slightly, as she adjusted again to her surroundings. It was then she noticed another girl sitting st the table, she jumped a little, contemplating her presence, taking in her appearance. “Hello?” She said hesitantly, “Sorry I didn’t mean to intrude on you working” Ariana's tone was gentle, sweet as usual, yet it still had the trace of a hard edge as a consequence of her earlier mishap. She hadn’t met the girl before, but she seemed nice enough, at a closer look Ariana realised she was a hufflepuff.

The library was calm and peaceful and Ariana relaxed, a little happier. She glanced back up at the girl and gave her a flash of a smile, reaching for her own bag, taking out the various assignments that she was supposedly going to try and finish.

May just didn't know what to do at the moment. Paper everywhere, ink spilled on the floor. Her white bag with little rainbows was full of ink... what would her mother say?
Of course, she had almost forgot. Her mother wouldn't mind. Let me explain,
Since May was nine, her parents have stopped talking to her. Why? Reasons unknown.
Her obvious first guess was that she had done something bad. But then, she had totally lost hope, and without anybody there to help her with her fears, May stares at the wall of the common room dorm, Plant Palace, thinking of her parents strange behavior.

Of course, they still talk to her. But simple things, like ' go to bed ' or ' stay home while we are gone '.
But May has a fear that they are keeping something. A secret that they don't want May to know. Her glowing strands of hair maybe? Impossible. She had those since she was born...but they had changed color.
May had seen a girl, yes, Gryffindor, sit on the table, looking furious. May immediately thought it was homework, but no. It wasn't...? May wanted to say hi, but her voice didn't come out. Well, it needn't. The Gryffindor had closed her eyes. And May didn't want to interrupt her perfect moment of meditation.
At last, when the Gryffindor saw that May was there, and FINALLY talked, May replied
"Oh, don't worry. You are a Gryffindor? You seem to be in trouble. At least I know that somebody stumbling into the library, probably injured May looked at the girls knees, "And in need of completing her assignments. Good luck." May said, and returned the smile to the girl.
"Oh, sorry, I'm May, May Moonstar," May said, quite good mannered. She didn't want to do a bad impression of herself.

"Oh, sorry, I'm May, May Moonstar,"
The gryffindor gazed up at the hufflepuff in wonder, the girl was well mannered and looked kind, a soft smile etched upon her features. Ariana saw May momentarily cast her eyes down to her bloody knees, she had completely forgotten about those. She shifted slightly in embarrassment, rummaging through her bag for bandages, she didn’t know any healing spells yet. “Oh,” she paused, “I’m sorry, I forgot to say, my name is Ariana Walker, nice to meet you May! Um… you don’t happen to have any spare bandages do you? I got into a little trouble on the way here…” she trailed off, “Ah!” She exclaimed, “Never mind!” She had found some in her bag and now held them up triumphantly before unraveling them and propping up her leg onto a nearby stool before winding the first one around her right knee. “So, are you in for some late night studying too? I find homework the most irritating part of the day” she chuckled slightly, pausing her poor attempts at first aid, to look up hesitantly at the girl. Once she was done wrapping both around each knee she bent them backwards and forth, the grass stained laces on her battered trainers swinging helplessly as she did so. “It will do” she shrugged before swivelling back around and picking up her quill, “I've had much worse, I have 6 older brothers you see.” She grinned up at May, “Do you have any siblings?”

When the girl looked down to her bloody knees, she seemed quite embarrassed.
"Don't worry, you don't have to be embarrassed. I don't know any healing spells yet, but I'm sure that when I learn one, it will come in handy," May said, grinning.
"What happened to you there? It sure does not look like a accident. Or is it?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to say, my name is Ariana Walker, nice to meet you May! Umm...You don't happen to have any spare bandages do you? I got into a little trouble on the way here." Said Ariana.

"Oh, umm, sure thing!" May said, but stayed still a second, to breathe deeply. dont worry May, the bandages you have in your backpack aren't full of ink, like everything else! May thought, but before she could pick them up, Ariana seemed to have found some already.
"Oh! Ok, I guess. Much better, because Inthink mines are full of ink or something..." May said, and pushed a little bit further her bag to the table, until it hit Ariana...by accident, of course. "Oh! Umm, sorry, I didn't mean to. Here, so you can clean up the ink I guess..." May said, nervously.

"D-do you talk Spanish...? May asked timidly to the Gryffindor. She had spotted her little Spanish accent, and wondered if she was, as May thought, from a country were they talked the Spanish language.

"Oh, umm, yeah. I have two siblings. I'm the littlest. Tho six ! That's too much to handle! Tell me the secret!" May said, and laughed. She hadn't seen her sister, Vanessa for a very long time, and kinda missed her. But her 14 year old Muggle brother?! At least Vanessa and May had something in common.

Ariana grinned back. The girl had an infectious smile, she couldn’t resist returning it. May nudged her bag forward and it made contact with Ariana's arm, staining the soft, white fabric a saturated inky black. For a second the young lion watched curiously as the ink spread across the material, hungrily devouring the innocent, pure colour in its wake. “It’s no problem!” She said brightly, rolling her sleeves up as she did so. Ariana was unfortunately careless and maybe too relaxed when it came to such things, although she didn’t mind much. At least May had made a kind effort to help her.

"D-do you talk Spanish...?

The question came out of nowhere, startling the young gryffindor slightly as she paused, her hand frozen where she had been rolling up her left sleeve. Wow this girl was very observant! The brunette had completely forgotten about her own accent. Was it that easy to tell? Ariana certainly had hints of Hispanic slur within her bubbly tones, having spoken this language since she was a small child, it was inevitable that some mark should remain.

The question intrigued her greatly, and she beamed once again at the Hufflepuff girl.“I’m Argentine and Italian” she explained shortly, “I’ve lived in Argentina nearly all my life. So I do speak Spanish, yes! Have you ever been to Argentina? It’s beautiful there!” She spoke with such elated enthusiasm that it was impossible not to be allured by the joyful tones as she spoke.

Her green eyes shone brightly as she leant back on her chair, reminiscing the wonderful memories from her home country. She glanced back at the girl smiling at her once more. She looked slightly sheepish, timid maybe? Was she intimidated by Ariana? The girl had hardly stopped to think about this. Her rowdy, extroverted nature sometimes seemed to starte others slightly, as though one could not believe how profound this girl's confidence really was. [She had always been a social butterfly.] Or was it the fact that she had a place as a beater on the gryffindor quidditch team. Was the girl uncertain about her rash, aggressive nature on the quidditch pitch? Ariana had her temper and her headstrong impetuous personality yes, but she was much more than that. Her ability to make others laugh easily, her fun loving open nature. She was often enjoyable to be around, interesting to listen to. She might let the kind huffle girl become more familiar with her, closer, as to let her be more of a part of herself, she could certainly learn stuff from May. The girl was so observant, empathetic, willing to help, eager, yet quiet. Ariana found this interesting, calming even.

She talked about her siblings and as May did in return, Ariana grinned yet again at the common reaction to the number of family members she had. “I mean...there is no secret I guess” she shrugged grabbing her bag from the chair and rummaging through it, “It depends on your siblings personality” she chuckled, extracting from her bag a large packet of ‘Bertie botts every flavour beans’ “you gotta know how to deal with each one differently. Toughen up in my case, my brothers don’t stand for crybabies, so I learnt to grow out of that.” She shot a quick look in the librarians direction before opening the bag and leaning forward to place them in the middle of the table amidst the many books. “Here” she offered, gesturing to the packet as she grabbed a handful, “help yourself! My mom always said that candy is the best way to make new friends!” Her eyes shone yet again with enthusiasm, the pain in her knees long forgotten. Sure it was childish, but then again she was still a child, wasn’t she?

“You miss your siblings right?” She asked curiously. Ariana certainly did, she only had Hugo at hogwarts with her. Too bad the rest of her brothers attended Ilvermorny in America, she could do with the extra support sometimes. “I guess you do, I mean I miss mine, heck I miss my whole family!” She gave another weak chuckle, throwing a handful of multi coloured beans into her mouth. She had gotten used to sharing, you had to if you had grown up in her household. Not only had Ariana lived alongside her 6 brothers, but there were her cousins too, she practically lived in their houses as well. Most of their families were pretty close.

As she examined a grey, metallic coloured bean from the ever disappearing packet of every flavour beans, she found herself wondering back to the long summer days in Argentina.

Alejandra had alway-

A pang of pain.

Ariana squeezed her eyes tightly shut. She hadn’t told anybody about her cousin yet, and she was determined to hide it for at least a while, she definetly didn’t like talking about it. What was it that had reminded her at that precise second about her dear hazel-eyed cousin? The memory of her home country wouldn’t be enough to trigger it would it? Ariana had gotten used to blacking out the parts where her cousin was present in her memories, she felt bad of course, but she didn’t know what else to do. She had been and still was, distraught at the fact that she longed to see the laughing face the happy smile of the young girl so dear to her. Was it the very presence of May that had reminded the gryffindor of Alejandra? Their personalities were certainly, by what Ariana could so far tell, alike. Timid, shy but empathetic, fun loving and caring.

Another savage stab of pain and she was brought back to reality, realising that her eyes had been shut for a while. Snapping them open, she brushed the action off, a sheepish look edging its way onto her features as she hastily fiddled with the remaining beans she had been clenching in the palm of her hand. She threw them into her mouth before looking nervously back up at May.

"Oh, yeah. I went to Argentina when I was about three or four years old, and since little children learn fast, I know quite a bit of Spanish." May said, a little bit embarrassed that she had to show off her language abilities. "I also know Frensh, and Portuguese." she was begginging to feel as though Ariana and her have been friends for a long time.
She returned the smile at the girl, even more brightly than before. Most of her friends were Gryffindors, tho she was a Hufflepuff. Now, she was wishing of being a Hufflepuff, like her friend, Ivy, and Janet and maybe she was developing another great friendship with the lioness that was standing before her.

"I think so, yes" May said, laughing a bit. She didn't know why she had just laughed, but she did it anyways.
When Ariana took out the Bertie Botts all Flavored Beans, May was about to tell her that she couldn't eat in the library. She, May, had always been so into the rules, that she found that what Ariana just did was... odd. But May smiled at the girls gesture, and picked up a candy.
"My mother says that when you meet someone, you just have to say hello, and just keep up with your business. She's very stric about the rules..." May said, giggling. But she though that perhaps she shouldn't have said that, for a sad feeling came into her immediately.
She had never been close to her mother, and they had just stopped talking. And now, since she was sick, she wanted May to visit her.

"Sure, I do miss my siblings. I mean, they're all very nosy, and they're just too....you know, annoying, but I do miss there smile." May said, looking at a brown Bertie Bott candy.

"Alejandra had alway~" Ariana began saying, but she immediately took it back. May felt sorry for her somehow, for she knew how she felt. She, May, felt the same thing when she thought of her parents. But less.

"I~I understand what you feel Ari." was the only thing May could think of saying. She didn't want to hurt her feelings either. "Maybe you want to talk about it?"

Ariana’s eyes widened slightly as May mentioned her ability to speak Spanish along with several other languages. Ariana herself could speak a few, in fact it was startling to hear that just like her, May knew how to speak french too. Well, maybe Ariana couldn’t speak it fluently, but it was a start. Besides, she already had Italian, what more did she really need? As May voiced her mother's words to her, Ariana smiled, enjoying the fact that they were, in some ways, interestingly different.

"Sure, I do miss my siblings. I mean, they're all very nosy, and they're just too....you know, annoying, but I do miss their smile." Ariana really felt that, hell, it was painful being separated from her own family, especially when she had been used to so many of them. As the girl before her yet again voiced concern for the brunette gryffindor, Ariana felt another twinge of recognition as she reminisced Ale’s soft comforting voice. Was it possible that she could trust the girl in front of her enough already? No. She decided, not yet anyway, the time would come- if ever she and May were to become better friends, well maybe she would tell her. Ariana was often reluctant to discuss the topic of her cousin, even to the closest of friends. It was with a guilty jolt that she realized Janet didn’t even know yet either. If she hadn’t even told her best friend, how was she to tell anyone else?

The offered a warm smile to May, much like the ones her own mother often gave her when she was upset or in pain. “Thanks may-” she started, “I appreciate it, I really do, I’m just not sure that it’s the right time to tell anyone yet” she was already beginning to trust the girls caring demeanor, yet Ariana’s reluctance to even the memory of Ale was too strong st the present time. The girl probably had troubles of her own, and Ariana already felt immensely guilty about lumping her concerns into May’s shoulders, who knew what the girl was already going through?

She reached down once again to grasp her bag from underneath the table, extracting a rather large pile of parchments and books. As though she were seeing it for the first time, she gulped as she eyed the hours of late night work sitting in front of her.

“Hey um, May! You don’t happen to be any good at transfiguration do you?”

“Thanks May- I appreciate it, I really do, I’m just not sure that it’s the right time to tell anyone yet”
May smiled at Ariana. She knew how it felt. She herself had loses a brother, because he had burned a whole house and was a psychopath. And May always felt embarrassed and tears coming out of her eyes when someone mentioned him. Her family were really separated. Probably apart from her cousins and her sister, Vanessa. And like Ariana, she still didn't want to talk about it with her. But just yet. She wasn't so sure if they would become great friends, or just be pure aquintances that met in the library because of mere coincidence. But she was begginging to like her. Very much indeed.

May looked at her own homework, and felt terribly sorry for all the students that had to suffer this crisis of merely looking at the homework and vomiting of disgust.
But she had to admit, some of them were the best homework papers she had seen ever. The mere thought of Charm class made her want to begin writing immediately. But what was in front of her was Astronomy. She would have preferred her second favorite class, Transfiguration.

“Hey um, May! You don’t happen to be any good at transfiguration do you?”

May looked up from her Astronomy sheets and looked up at Ariana.

"Do I look like the person that does not like Transfiguartion? It's one of my favorite classes! In Muggle school, physics was my favorite class. And it is almost the same, so I'm glad they still have the atom process."

May laughed at herself. She could be such a nerd when she wanted to. But an idea came into her mind.
"Do you like Astronomy better than Transfiguration? If so, let's switch homework!"

May looked at the expectant homework pages. She could see a few errors in Ariana's homework, but nothing too bad.
