A Little Freedom... But not too much. Closed

Seren had stood silently on the platform, watching the hustle and the bustle going on around her. No one approached her, which did not surprise her. She did not know anyone here to speak to, so how would they know her? The lawyer in charge of making sure she got onto the train and did what was expected of her had been uninterested in anything but making sure she made it on the train, on time.

Seren had not argued, because she knew arguing had never done her any good in the past. Why bother? Instead, she waited until he informed her that she was going to board now, and took her trunk, heaving it on to the nearest car. She followed and took control from there, because the lawyer was leaving, quickly.

She dragged her trunk until she found an empty compartment, and got herself inside. She barely managed to get her trunk up onto the rack, but finally, finally she was alone and free to do as she chose until they arrived. Or at least as much as she felt safe to do. And what she did was pull out her copy of Hogwarts: A History, and began to read. Sometime around lunch, she pulled out the lunch her elves had packed her, eating quietly with her book still on her lap.

And then it grew dark, and she put her book and the package her food had been in away, pulled out her robes and got ready. It was not long before she was off the train, and moving with the crowd. She had been trying to figure out what to do when a young man, taller than her but about her age, suddenly stopped and she banged into him.

She flushed red and apologized, before she figured out where to go. The loud yelling for the first years was a clue. She followed the voice, and then the instructions provided by the voice's owner, and it was not long before she was on a boat with three strangers... Lost but excited, and free of the constraints of home.
