Hogwarts ISR
Even though all Hogwarts students reside in the United Kingdom, many are from different countries all over the world. In order to stay connected with students with various cultural backgrounds, Hogwarts International Student Representatives (Hogwarts ISR) from each country or region are invited to meet and share the uniqueness and beauty of their cultures once every month!
Moreover, Hogwarts ISR members are actively organising school events from time to time and providing assistance to their peer students, particularly those who have not been living in the United Kingdom for long. Through different fun activities from international cuisine cooking class to folk dance performances, Hogwarts ISR aims to promote fellowship, unity, mutual assistance and brotherhood among Hogwarts students.

Reducio1. Is this club for international (non-UK) students only?
No! Everyone's welcomed to join. For int students, this can be your home away from home. For UK students, this is a place to meet new friends from all around the globe and have cultural exchanges.
2. Even students who are not descendants of other nationalities? Can they join?
Of course!
3. Why does the application form specifies "nationality according to passport"?
The first reason is this is for administrative purpose. The second reason is because some people may confuse nationality with ethnicity, so we decide to add the explanation "according to passport".
4. What is the difference between nationality and ethnicity then?
Quick answer: Nationality refers to one's country of citizenship, or more easily, which passport one holds. Ethnicity is the cultural characteristics that define a person as being a member of a specific group.
Example: Paolo holds the passport of Italy, but his parents are migrants from India. At home, he speaks Hindi with his family. He looks very much like an Indian boy with dark skin and black eyes. Paolo's nationality is Italian. His ethnicity is Indian. Being of Indian decent does not make him an Italian-Indian or Indian-Italian because he only holds the passport of Italy. He also doesn't have dual nationalities.
