Dakota had been anticipating the end of the year, having met a few new people by now she was excited to go home and see her Maine coon that had to remain home due to his anxiety. Dakotas siblings, well, most likely more her brothers, would be happily waiting for her. Dakotas skirt swished along with ber movements, still wearing her uniform as she carried her bag over her shoulders. Her mind wandered, Dakota now aimlessly walking through the spacey corridors.
Because of her mind wandering Dakota didn’t notice the flood of students at first. She had been too far in thinking about going through her late fathers things to try and get to know him. So when she snapped out of this and realized the corridors were now flooded with students and filling even quicker, panic rose. Her throat tightened and she began trying to push her way towards the doors to get to the courtyard, hoping it would be quieter, less full, but she kept getting pushed back. Dakota felt sick, her stomach churning as tears sting her eyes and threatened to slip down her rosy cheeks. This was too much for her, she felt trapped, like she was being suffocated. It was a overwhelming fear, flooding all her senses as she clung to the wall and tried to move along it.

As the exams started to approach so fast, Vivian started to feel more stressed. Her confidence level was not at all high, it was rather very low. It is not like she has not studied, she had, not just once but multiple times which is more than required. Maybe, it was time for her to get some rest. Yes, her mind and body need some relaxation, or that’s what she thought. Wandering around the school with one of the school subject books is her favourite hobby, that’s what she does when she stress outs. The girl wants to relax but could not spend her time without a book which has been read about at least 14 times by her.

As she was sauntering down the corridors, her leg started to slightly pain, The beads of sweat broke out of her brow as a result of walking for a long time. Wiping the wetness with the edge of her top, she leaned against the stone wall in the corner with her eyes looking at the students passing by. The corridor was already crowded and no one’s going to notice or mind her staring at them, or at least she thought they wouldn’t.

That’s when she glanced at a girl holding on to the wall tightly. She turned to look at the girl once more, this time more intensely. She knows that girl.... is a Hufflepuff, that’s all she knows about her as she saw her in the common room before. It doesn’t seem like she’s playing or something, she looked...uncomfortable. Does she need any help? Is it tough for her to walk? What is happening? She didn’t know but looking at the girl being uncomfortable made Vivian uncomfortable as well. She had an option, to either help her or to look away, Vivian is not the one to look away if she finds someone in need of help. She walked fast towards the girl, pushing her way towards the brown haired girl. With her face looking perturbed “ uh, you look like you need ...help?” she asked as she looked at the girl’s eyes which were filled with a tear that may fall down anytime. That’s all she could say, she was not able to find words of comfort suddenly but one could see how worried Vivian is just by looking at her.

Dakota blinked over at Vivian, her blue eyes sparkling as she sucks in a breath. She hadn’t expect to have a anxiety attack, but she most certainly felt one coming on. Dakota tried to speak, but when she did it just sounded like a squeak coming out. Tears began to slip down her cheeks, her mind was jumbled and now she couldn’t think straight. It felt like the walls were closing in as students moved through the halls, Dakota having her back rested against the wall. She held her arms against herself, the chilled wall against her back as her eyes raked the area around them.
The thoughts that bounced around her brain were there’s too many people.. before the thought too many voices. Dakota felt her stomach churning, feeling ill as bile rose in her throat. Resorting to silently pleading with Vivian to help her, not able to speak up because her throat feels like it’s closing in, her chest feeling like it’s collapsing as she sniffled. It was difficult to breath for Dakota, she had no idea what to do as now it felt like she was stuck to the wall. Biting down on her lip, she accidentally drew blood from how hard she had, though the pain didn’t take her mind off the current situation.

Vivian was frightened looking at the girl not being comfortable. Intensely looking at the girl trying to say something, she stammered “W-wh-what?” with an anxious tone and her whole body was drenched with sweat.

What happened to this girl? She was normal when she first looked at her, in the other place. Suddenly, what caused her to be this scared? Looking at the girl not being able to reply, Vivian was bewildered. If she did not say anything, how could she help her? Suddenly, tears that were held back by the girl started to broke out from her eyes.

After seeing that, Vivian’s heart started to race that she was able to hear her own heartbeat. She has to do something now, but how? She had no idea of what to do, she had no idea of what that girl was scared of, but noticing that the corridor was full of a swarming mass of bodies, she decided to take the girl to the less crowded area. Looking at the girl back was placed against the wall and her arms folding herself, she informed the girl “I’ll take you there” with her face full of sweat, she gestured her to the place that she found with not so many students.

Vivian’s thought of holding her arms to take her there stopped when she looked at the girl’s arm holding herself. Clasping the girl in her arm, she started walking so fast to the place, stammering “Yo-You-You’ll be a-alright” but stopped as she assumed that her voice stammering would make the girl uneasy. As soon as she reached, Vivian released her and could feel a hot drop of liquid pouring out from her left eye in her sweaty face. Was she crying? But why? She didn’t realise her tears, she was unaware of it.

Once Vivian helped Dakota reach a less crowded and quieter spot she sucked in a breath. Trying to call down slowly but surely she tucked her arms against herself again. Smiling gently she blinked at Vivian, though her tears stopped she was slowly able to talk again and once she was she began to explain to Vivian. “I’m sorry..I’m so sorry, thank you for helping..” giving Vivian a soft smile she sucked in a breath ”..it’s..claustrophobia, well, once students started coming in..” Dakota seemed unable to find the correct words to describe what had just happened to her.
The panic she had felt, the way it seemed the walls were gonna crush her, the way it overwhelmed every sense, it was something she was sure somebody would have to experience themselves to truly understand it. “It’s hard to explain, I was on the verge of a anxiety attack, but again, thank you.” taking in a deep breath she blinked warmly at Vivian “I’m Dakota, Dakota Olson..and you are?”. Dakotas voice was sweet and soft, almost sounding like honey as she spoke. Her blue eyes still sparkled, even after the tears stopped falling. Dakotas apple cheeks made her eyes scrunch up, giving her a kind look as she awaited.

Vivian did not care to wipe away her own tears or her sweaty face. All she could care about was whether the girl was fine, she looked.... so sick that made Vivian shed tears. Looking at the girl tucking herself again, Vivian was like a cat on a hot tin roof. If the girl didn’t answer her now, the blonde would take her to the hospital wings. When she decided to ask her what happened, the girl started to talk which made the blonde exhale with her mouth in relief. Wiping her tears and her sweaty face with the edge of her top, “I- It’s okay, don’t be sorry... well, you’re alright now? that’s enough.” she smiled showing her dimples but she could hear her own heart beat and could feel her body shivering slightly.

Claustrophobia?... Vivian didn’t know what it was. When students came in? Was it because of the crowd? Why did she come here now, when it’s so crowded? She could have waited. Looking at the girl having difficulty explaining “I- it’s okay, relax. I could understand, it was because of the crowd...?” it was more likely a question than a statement but she didn’t expect a reply and smiled gently at the girl. All she tried and want is to make her comfortable, she didn’t need an explanation if it’s difficult for her.

“ it’s okay, I don’t need an explanation but... be careful next time” she smiled at the girl brightly, glad that she talks well now. Finally, the blonde got to know the girl’s name, it was Dakota. Unlike before, she was not trying hard to memorise her name, she would not forget her name, ever. “Nice Name, I am Vivian Fletcher” she said, now all the nervousness gone, only a bright smile appeared. The smile stopped as soon as she thought about getting her some water to drink, “you need some water?” before Dakota could reply “I’ll get you some” she ran to get her some water.

As Dakota watched Vivian walk off to get her water, Dakota letting out a soft sigh. Well this isn’t going as I planned.. as this thought rung in her head she straightened up. Dakota usually stayed in her room unless walking from or to classes or the great hall, by now she was quietly wishing she had stayed in her dorm room. Dakota paused, the corners of her lips turned down in a frown, she had made a scene, of course, not many people noticed her, or so she didn’t think so, but now that she was waiting for Vivian to come back she was grateful she had been noticed by somebody.
Laughing softly, Dakota sighed, she had seemed like a fool, she knew she had no choice over her panic, that she had no idea that the corridors would’ve filled so quickly. She had once been trying to get back to her dorm, this had been the way she HAD to go. Puffing out her breath, her gaze searched for Vivian, her gaze soft and grateful. Brushing her cloak off, she watched as the crowd slowly dwindled, of course it was her luck to get caught in this. After a moment she looked for Vivian again, not wanting to leave before she could thank Vivian yet again for the water and the help.

Vivian was back with a bottle of water in her hand. As she rushed back in hurry towards Dakota, she was panting for breath. “Here” she mouthed as she stretched her hands so that Dakota could have some water. Unlike before, Dakota looked relaxed and that relieved the blonde. Being suffered... she knows about it... maybe not in this way but it still affects Vivian. She hates seeing people suffering and it reminds her of her past, the time when she had to experience the trauma, not able to convey her distress to anybody, bawling in her room when her mother is not around, trembling unconsciously in her sleep not able to get over the loneliness, depression and being not able to rely on anybody.

Being lost in thoughts until when she realised that she was standing in front of Dakota in the corridors, not knowing whether Dakota said something or not, “S-S-Sorry, had some stuff going on my mind” wiping down some teardrops from her own eyes “D-don't mind it, it just- it just comes out without my permission” she laughed nervously. “if you have time, we could go somewhere, you know?” Vivian asked Dakota as she did not want to spend time alone now and also that some part of her brain said not to leave Dakota alone now tho the blonde was not the one to believe in her instinct. Of course, she was not going to force Dakota to come with her but would be glad if she agrees.

Dakota took the water gratefully, thanking Vivian as she smiled. Dipping lightly at it she listened to Vivian, watching her closely as she sighed “no need to be sorry, Vivian, we all get lost in our thoughts sometimes.” now that Dakota had relaxed her voice had gone back to its soft and sweet tone, able to be compared to what the taste of honey would sound like.
When Vivian proposed going somewhere Dakota blinked, a bit uncertain of this, but she sighed and nodded. Smiling, Dakota raised a eyebrow “what exactly did you have in mind?” Dakota was able to tell the girl was still trying to help her and Dakota wasn’t willing to turn down a helping hand.
Her blue eyed gaze was soft, seeming to be examining Vivian, specially the blonds face and features. Dakota normally was able to remember a face, voice and name if she had enough time to memorize them and right now Dakota was taking in Vivian to be able to recognize the girl just by looking at her. Dakota was very grateful towards Vivian but now Dakota was also worried for her, stepping forward lightly Dakota seemed to be debating about reaching a hand out to Vivian but held back “are you ok, Vivian?”.
