Katrina was beyond excited. She was ecstatic and jubilant. And pretty much every other extremely positive emotion out there. There was a bounce in her step and a sparkle in her eyes. A crooked smile was prominent on her face. This was not normal Katrina behavior, mind you. In fact, she had never been this happy since before her parents where alive, and even before that if she was being honest. Katrina was so happy that her mind refused to think about anything else. No thinking about her tragic past, no dwelling on the Blossomball, no worrying about the summer. Just plain anticipation.

Boomerang, her kitten, was trailing just behind Katrina, a look of glee on his furry face too. He wasn't quite sure why his owner was so happy, but he was happy that she was happy. It was a messy ball of happiness. Not messy, a happy ball of happiness.

"Inviting all to the Scavenger Hunt Club!" Katrina bounced up to a upperclassmen, Ravenclaw according to their blue uniform. She handed them a flyer before coming up to another person.

"Sign up before Sunday to get into the first meeting!" Another few flyers to a group of chatting Hufflepuffs.

There was a girl on the side of the wave of students "Puzzles and fun guaranteed!" five flyers down, seven to go.

"Prizes if I come up with the money!" A group of Slytherin boys, all of whom looked startled by her over enthusiastic expression.

"Sign up for the Scavenger Hunt Club!" Katrina called out, taping the last two to the hallway walls.

If one were to look closely at the flyers, they would see this:

May had seen the posters of a Scavenger Hunt in the school Billboard. She looked up who was the host...Ah! It was her dear friend, @Katrina Walker!
May immediately knew that she couldn't be shy of telling her dear friend that she wanted to sign up! She runned up into the corridors, and saw that she was there, telling a few students about it.

"Hey Kat! I wanted to sign up for the Scavanger hunt. I really hope I can make it..." May's hands were trembling. She couldn't just loose a Scavanger hunt! She was really good at fitting in clues, and she had been dreading this time for the whole year. "Really Kat, you should make another one for Summer Camp. I mean, it would be real fun!" she smiled at her friend, and the thought that she, Katrina, would soon be a second year, made her quite sad. She would probably not see her as often as before.
When she finished the form, it said:

SCAVENGER HUNT
May Mary Moonstar
First Year
Hufflepuff

The Badger gave her the form, and smiled at her. "I can't wait for the Scavenger Hunt to begin! Send me owl when it's ready!"

Katrina was just grabbing more flyers from her satchel at her waist as she heard a familiar voice. Someone using her pet name? Only one person called her by that. Boomerang looked to the left and Katrina followed his gaze to find @May Moonstar running up. Was the nickname new? Katrina puzzled over that for a second before responding.

"I'm so excited that you are excited because I'm excited and... wow that was a lot of 'excited's" Katrina was never this bubbly and well-- excited. Katrina had grown up really fast, and for her to be this spontaneous and smiling. "It's on the first, two days, I cannot wait, I already have it all planned out and all the-" Katrina clapped a hand over her mouth, realizing that she was about to talk about the clues that were supposed to be suprises.

Katrina was almost bursting with the comment about the Summer Camp. "I'm planning on doing one every month," A delighted grin spread across her face. "The first few I'm going to have only 5 people join just for the sake of me being able to test it, but spoiler, I'm planning on doing HUGE group ones this summer if there are enough people signed up," Katrina phantomed putting a finger to her lips, "But shh, no one knows that yet,"

"Yep, I'll have the owl sent on the first! It will also have some more information and stuff on it. I'm gonna go pass the rest of these out, feel free to tag along or go back to do homework if you want," Katrina gave one last smile before turning to the other people.

"Sign up for Scavenger Hunt Club!" She called out, waving a flyer in the air like a flag.

"A new hunt each month!" She handed a few out to a group of, likely gossiping by their expressions, Ravenclaws.

"Might be prizes if people donate something," That one was more of a joke than anything else, but Katrina found another Gryffindor.

"Sign up now!"

Even if Mars hadn't had seen her, they would have known she was there. Katrina Walker, with her ever-present teal streak, was prancing through the corridors, throwing papers at people and surprising one too many awkward First Years.

Mars walked into the corridor, heels clicking on the smooth stone, and snatched one of them out of the air. What was this?

Huh. A scavenger hunt club? Mars hadn't joined many clubs over the year and the one that they had had had broken up after the first event. Mars glanced back up to Katrina terrorizing another Gryffindor. The poor boy looked scared out of his mind.

Scavenger hunt. When was the last time they'd done one of those? Mars was dragged back into their memories.

The Castillion Manor was a massive building. The entrance hall itself was as large as the room they had slept in at the orphanage. It was always cleanly swept, made up in a pristine manner, and precious pieces of artwork lining the walls.

Kyron and Estella Castillion were aristocrats in every sense of the muggle world. They attended parties and fraternized with all the right people at all the right times. They were prim and polished, the perfect nuclear couple, floofy dresses and crisp suits. Why the hell they had adopted all six of the T'ien children was beyond Mars.

For all the Castillions were the perfect set of "royalty," they were not cut out for parenthood. Kyron was constantly gone and Estella—well, she tried her best. Ultimately, it had ended up with Mars taking full responsibility of their brothers, with occasional help from the maid. More often than not, they would only see their "parents" during the day, the two of them disappearing to late-night parties that left the manor empty.

Mars didn't resent them for this. It would have been so much more awkward to try and pretend like they had any interest in what the kids had done during the day and infinitely more painful if Mars had to sit through the "you have to be more ladylike" lecture every single night. Instead, those late-nights were filled with fond memories of teaching Julius how to use a knife, Sandor reading off the menu in the background as Urian attempted to keep Nereus away from the stove. Of hauling Plato up to the roof to watch the fireworks that only sprung into the air once every year. And of scavenger hunts.

They planned those out far too many times for a couple of hyperactive boys to stay interested, but the T'ien's still met everyone with jubilee and exuberance. Hiding things was easy, making clues was fun, and watching as the five boys struggled to puzzle out their little riddle was more than amusing.

They were pulled out of the reminiscing by Katrina's sudden exclamation. Apparently, another girl had also signed up. Mars looked down at the flyer again.

Shrugging, they pulled a quill out of their back pocket and scrawled their name, year, and house down on the paper. Then, they went up to Katrina.

Tapping her on the shoulder with the flyer, they held it out, grinning at the lioness.

"Making it your business to litter in the hallways?"
Sorry, couldn't resist a little backstoryyyy

Katrina’s mood was only getting more excited. She handed out flyer after flyer, watching as people actually began to sign up. This was actually going to be a thing. She was finally going to have her Scavenger Hunt Club.

The idea of making the club had started last year when she was looking to join a club or two. There weren’t any puzzle clubs or many clubs that had events that seemed interesting to her. The idea had been growing in her head for long enough, and she even had a journal filled with ideas for clues and set ups with diagrams for where things would be hidden. Finally, she had mustered the courage to sign up for the club.

Katrina was so excited. Her brother, Liam, had made scavenger hunts for her all the time. It was great to have time to just piece together puzzles and understand riddles and clues. Pranks and scavenger hunts had been her best memories of Liam. Now she was going to make a club in his memory.

Sign up before the slots are filled!” Katrina waved a flyer in the air and handed it to a frightened first year.

Making it your business to litter in the hallways?” A voice addressed Katrina from behind.

Oh hey Mars” Katrina smiled, “I guess that is what’s happening, but I can’t wait, this is so exciting. Have you signed up?” All of the words tumbled out of her mouth in confusing quick succession.

Katrina handed a flyer to a passing group of upperclassmen and turned back to Mars.

“Oh hey Mars” Katrina smiled, “I guess that is what’s happening, but I can’t wait, this is so exciting. Have you signed up?”

Mars laughed as the hyperactive lioness turned to hand another flyer to a passing group of students. They didn't think they'd ever seen Katrina this ecstatic. She was practically glowing.

"Ha, yeah, it looks super fun. Brings back good memories," they said as Katrina's attention came back to them. "You made all the questions?"

It was quite impressive, honestly. Scavenger hunts weren't the easiest thing in the world to set up. And it would be fun, seeing as Hogwarts was actually massive. There were just so many places to go and so many things to do. Mars looked at the hallway where various flyers were littering the floor. They chuckled.

Handing their sign-up sheet to Katrina, they started down the hallways, pick up the extra flyers. When they'd gotten them all secure in their arms, they turned to wave back at the lioness.

"Hey, if it's cool with you, I'll take these. See if I can drum up anyone for you in the Ravenclaw dorm. You know Eagles love puzzles after all."

They weren't all the appealed by the prospect of talking to people, but they could certainly tack one to the Bulletin Board and scatter a few across the tables. Take a page out of Katrina's book, in a sense.

Katrina bounced on the balls of her feet, a wide smile on her face. "Yeah, I made all the questions. I'm really excited, like, I'm pretty sure this is the most excited I have ever been in, like, years," The second year saw another student and handed out another flyer. The second year was so happy that Mars was interested.

"Oh, thank you!" Katrina smiled and waved at Mars as she left. This was only getting better and better. She almost had the first hunt full. She hadn't even thought about asking more Ravenclaws, she was sure that they would all be excited for a chance to solve some puzzles.

Katrina grabbed the flyers and taped another to the wall. She looked back at the swarms of students and smiled.

"Scavenger Hunt Club sign ups!" Katrina handed out another flyer.

This was the most exciting day in her entire life. Katrina couldn't wait to see her club finally come together. She couldn't wait two days! She was going to explode before she could even start the competition. With the smile still plastered on her face. Katrina continued down the hall.

"Sign up for SHC! Puzzles and fun guaranteed."

"First hunt in two days!"

"Sign up before it fills up!"
