To Be So Lonely Solo Closed

Young and impressionable are two statements that could sum up Ana Hanburry efficiently. Ana had, for as long as she could recollect, desired nothing more than to be loved and cherished by those she encircled herself with. She craved acceptance and approval but had yet to find that at Hogwarts. Frequently Ana found herself roaming the corridors alone, detached from all other students. Some days she relished the tranquillity. Other days, however, like today, Ana wasn't savouring her loneliness and wished that she had someone, anyone, to giggle with and express her every thought to.

Ana located herself on the second-floor corridor, peacefully losing herself in Louisa May Alcott's coming-of-age Novel "Little Women". The more she was understanding the book, the more Ana noticed herself resonating with the lead protagonist, Jo March. The work evoked an even greater sense of loneliness and reminded Ana of her older sisters. She hopelessly missed their company although they weren't all too enamoured by their younger sister, even just being nearby was comforting to Ana. At home, she always knew that she had someone to talk to and that was sufficient for her.

Whilst scrutinising the book, Ana scrawled notes on the sides of the pages. Nothing important, just insignificant information about the characters, their motivations and their relationships with the other characters throughout the book. She had resolved that she would gift the text to her older sister –– Francesca –– as a gift upon her return from Hogwarts. Francesca was Ana's favourite, she would never disclose that to her other sisters, but Francesca always seemed to have time for Ana. The young girl was envious of her older sister, if not even a little jealous at times. Ana's love language was gift-giving, and that explained why she adored the Christmas period and why she was constantly collecting possessions to give to her loved ones, like the aforementioned book.

Ana was so captivated by what she was reading, she hadn't regarded another student in the corridor. It wasn't till she caught onto the footsteps that she was removed from Concord, Massachusetts and into the tangible world in front of her. Ana was reserved, but her stare held onto the girl for much longer than it should have. She was beautiful, that much was apparent –– her wavy, dark locks and pale skin charmed Ana's attention, and she was older too, but not by much, at least Ana assumed so. She easily reminded Ana of her oldest sibling, enabling the loneliness to settle in once more. Despite the loneliness, there was something profoundly reassuring and comforting about the girl that she had just encountered. Ana found her footing, black robes sweeping against the grimy cobbled floors of the corridor and she sprang down the corridor after her, innocently following after the girl. It was determined that Lucia would be her new (and first) friend, and to who she would gift her beloved book, Ana just required a plan first.
