Regradless of what Rohan and Miranda had chosen to do, Heather rushed towards the exit of the ballroom, trying to find Kara. One second she was next to the door, invitng anyone who wanted to help her- and now she was gone.

"Dammit!" the blonde mumbled a curse under her breath, almost tripping over her dress. If she knew a hunt was in the program, for sure she would have chosen a more comfortable outfit.

At least she wasn't wearing heels- That would have been her death.

Pushing past other students, the Ravenclaw's blue eyes lit up with excitement as she noticed not only Kara, but Henry too! First Miranda and Henry, and now her two favorite Slytherins? It seemed like all of her friends knew each other, one way or another. Though, her smile faltered just a bit as she noticed a familiar figure next to them- her favorite redhead, Scarlett Aden.

Now, her first impression was that she deserved the beating she'd received in the hallway, but after getting to actually spend some time with the feisty girl, her opinion had slightly changed. Scarlett was impulsive and pretty much chaotic, just like her. But, unlike the taller blonde, she was a Gryffindor. Shaking her head, Heather decided to push these thoughts away, at least for tonight.

"Here you were guys!" she exclaimed, coming closer to her friends, and turning to Kara. "I'd called you out just before you left the ballroom, but you mustn't have heard me." Moving her gaze towards Henry, the girl grinned. "And you, mister- when you were going to tell me about you and Miranda?"

Heather let out a small, awkward smile when it came to greeting Scarlett. "Uh, hello, Scarlett." she said a bit awkwardly. "Nice costume- you're uh, full of red..." Trailing off, Heather decided to keep her mouth shut, and momentarily say nothing more to the Gryffindor.

Since she was closer to the group, now the blonde could also notice another girl, who didn't seem too familiar. Maybe she was from one of the other schools? Either way, she seemed like she was fun."Hey, I'm Heather!" Resuming to talk to all four children, the blonde rubbed the back of her neck. "I hope you all don't mind if I tag along with you, right? So, what did you find up until now?"

Following other students- who seemed just as confused as he was, Louis took a glance towards Jacqueline. He had agreed to take part in this hunt, whatever would that include, but he did mostly for his date. How intrigued she seemed when the chaos ensured, how she seemed to become alive at the mention of adventure, he couldn't take that from her. But, despite deciding on taking part in this hunt, a small part of the boy was worried. What if something bad was going to happen, just like he had imagined before the ball started? Was it worth, for a couple of hours fueled by adrenaline, to put yourself in danger like that?

"Erm...Jac"
he started, albeit on an unsure tone. "You- I know I said I want you to have fun, but are you sure....about this?" Rubbing the back of his neck, Louis looked to the gracious girl. "It could be dangerous, you know..."

As they followed the cat, Louis glanced around him. Suddenly, with his newfound fear and theories, the castle didn't as welcoming as it seemed before. The big, cold walls became more menacing, as if they were hiding some dark secrets behind them. Unconsciously, he grabbed Jacqueline's hand- was it because he was worried for her or a reaction to his own fear? No one would know.

"If anything happens," he resumed speaking, taking a deep breath, "you'll stay by my side, okay? Promise me."

Almost running after the Ghost Alexander had managed to catch up with the group of students that had decided to follow the enigmatic spirit. He had sounded extremely distressed in the ballroom, and the expression on his face, on his eyes, had made Alexander leave the party and follow the glowing cat. They were now walking along the corridors of Hogwarts; they all looked the same to the Durmstrang student, and he was actually grateful he wasn't walking around by himself, or he might have gotten lost.

After a little while, as some students were chatting with each other and alexander stayed by himself like he usually did, they arrived to another room that was full of students as well. Contrary to the Ballroom, the students here were dressed up in costumes and more Halloween-like attires, definitely different from the fancy dresses that filled the other room.

Then the glowing cat decided to start walking again, and the whole group moved to follow it; Alexander took that occasion to catch up with it a little bit and moved closer, while still being on the side. He observed it carefully, almost as if to catch something that the other couldn't. Why did they need to follow a cat, why this cat specifically? How was it connected with the Ghost rider? All of those questions filled his mind as he kept walking after the feline, his attention all concentrated on figuring out what was happening.

Open to interactions! Sorry, I didn't have time to have Silver approach anyone herself for now...
Silver breathed in the air of the hallway, glad to be free of the stares she could feel pointed her way back in the ballroom with Alexei. She was glad to be free of there, to be free of him. He might be better looking than the average student and actually, surprisingly, from a wealthy and powerful family, but he was still despicable to be around. She didn't particularly appreciate his aggressive attempts at flirting, either. That no longer mattered, however. Alexei was back in the ballroom, and Silver would not need to deal with him until another possible event arised which they may be expected to attend together. Casting the matter from her mind, Silver looked around at the people near her.

The other students seemed to rambling, aimlessly, in Silver's opinion, and speculating as to the meaning behind the ghostly rider's message. Electing to stay silent, at least for now, Silver simply stood and watched the cat closely as more and more people spilled out of the ballroom to pool around her. It simply didn't make sense to start guessing as the ending of the mystery yet, what with the extremely limited amount of information that had been disclosed to them thus far. Silver would wait until there were more solid clues upon which to base her claim, and then she would begin making her predictions.

As the ghost cat padded into the Rehearsal Room on the opposite side of the hall from the Ballroom, Silver followed it with some interest. Perhaps the Costume Party she had previously heard about would be worth a visit once this ghostly parade was over- but no. Silver frowned as she cast a skeptical eye over the disappointing and frankly childish decorations of the room. And why was there a student with what appeared to be a pumpkin replacing her head? And . . . was that a pumpkin food fight going on in the corner of the room? Disgraceful. Shaking her head in disgust, Silver walked back out into the hallway and waited for the mystery progression to continue.

Something was happening that Logan didn't quite understand but his mind was too clouded for logic. There was fun to be had!
Logan, Alina, and some other girl Logan didn't recognize, charged out of the costume party to solve the ghost mystery.
He just wanted a normal Halloween but that didn't mean he couldn't have a fun one. He was still trying to get a clue on what to do before Alina said, "I hope you brought your wands".
He never left without it but when faced with danger, his wand wasn't the first thing he'd turn to. He searched his robes before pulling out a long mayhaw wood wand.
"Umm.. Yeah, I have my wand. Wait a minute."
He realized that something was off. He paused before saying,
"Nice. I can use real words again."
It would seem the babbling beverage that was snuck into his chocoball had worn off.
He turned his attention to Alina,
"Have you any idea what's happening? I mean... ghosts?"
He had been learn magic since he got to Hogwarts but truth be told, he still had a lot to learn. It would seem street smarts don't work when you're in a castle. He looked at other girl that he assumed was a friend of Alina's and said,
"I don't believe we've met. Aemadall Zarcovich. Call me Logan."

Paisley was glad to be adventuring through Hogwarts. She couldn't believe she was solving a magical ghostly mystery, at a magic school, with someone she actually trusted. It was as if Christmas had come early for the young Gryffindor, whom had never before done something so important with her life.
Only a few moments prior she had been questioning everything about herself, from her corny jokes to her shoeless toes. Now she was (embarassingly) having a wonderful time following a mysterious ghost as he traveled throughout Hogwarts's halls. Her feet were cold against the stone ground, and she shivered in spite of herself.
Although the warning the students had been given was of peril and danger, Paisley could see none of that going on at the moment, other than the occasional student collapsing or arguing amongst themselves. But, of course, they were at Hogwarts, so there was nothing out of the ordinary...yet.
"Is it bad that I think this is sorta fun? I'm not scared, and I don't know if I should be. Do you think that ghost was really being serious with all his warnings and stuff?" she asked in a hushed voice, turning to Sarah. Her hand was still tightly clasped in her's, which the young Gryffindor found to be a comfort. "I mean, I heard all the warnings about danger and things like that, but it's hard to be serious when you're following a ghost through a magic school. With this, might I add." she took out her wand and spun it around in her hand, almost dropping it. She then quickly tucked it back where it had come from, not wanting to lose it. "I know this might all seem normal to you, since you grew up with magic. But I grew up in a muggle neighborhood. My only real link to the magic world was through my mom, but she didn't really talk about it on a daily basis or anything. I guess I'm just excited to be apart of something supernatural." she paused. "Did you know this is the only time I've ever actually enjoyed myself at a school event?"

Heels clicking against the stone floor and Eyre (semi-willingly) in tow, Ana entered the corridor. Her dark eyes flitted about, taking in as much information as she could. If Ana had any self-preservation skills, she likely would have left the cat alone and stayed at the dance with her lovely date. There were others who had taken on the ghost's challenge, and if it wasn't for her hero complex, she would have considered leaving it alone. Unfortunately, despite her recent self-loathing, she knew that the vast majority of her schoolmates were complete and utter morons and that the only person she could legitimately trust to solve this mystery was herself.

As her eyes scanned the room she caught sight of a familiar pair of shoes. She could be wrong, seeing as she'd been looking across a crowded ballroom, but they looked alarmingly similar to whoever had made that disturbing sound and run away under an invisibility cloak. She assessed the girl, trying to ascertain if she was an idiot who had been attempting to play some pathetic prank or if she was a foe with malicious intent. She vaguely recognized the girl as another Hogwarts student, which wasn't very helpful, seeing as that applied to a majority of the people in the corridor. The Gryffindor decided to watch the other girl for a bit longer before actually saying anything. She generally wasn't the type to sit back and gather more proof before accusing people, but if she didn't even know what she was accusing someone of, she didn't have another option.

She caught sight of one of her three least favorite redheads. Probably actually her least favorite, seeing as she disliked her even more than Eyre's Carrot or dry haired Kit Kat Walker. As much as she was irritated by the other two, Scarlett Aden made her blood boil. She was already beginning to run through scenarios and possible excuses for punching, hexing, and possibly stabbing the other girl. She wasn't someone who Ana enjoyed disliking or would waste her time tripping. She was someone who Ana was going to murder, it was just a question of when. While Ana enjoyed gossip more than most, the rumors Scarlett had been spreading were unforgivable and Ana wasn't about to let that go. When the inevitable fight broke out, Ana resolved to have a spell or few that just happened to go awry and cause the redhead to burst into flames.

Between death glares directed at Scarlett and suspicious glances at the Invisibility Cloak girl, Ana examined the cat and the corridor for any sort of clue as to what was happening. Her pace slowed slightly and she drew her wand. Better to be safe than sorry. As she continued to scan the crowd and gather information, she caught sight of Astrea, whom she nodded and smiled slightly at. Astrea, despite their limited acquaintance, was definitely someone Ana would trust in a fight, considering she had so readily jumped to Ana's defense in a situation similar to this only a few months before.

She was already regretting her choice of footwear slightly. While the stilettos were well suited for dancing, also know as her intended activity for the evening, they were not her first choice for a trek across the castle. More importantly, walking around in them too much would ruin them, which was something she simply couldn't allow to happen. If, or more accurately when, things began to go badly, she decided she would hand them off to someone she trusted. She couldn't bear the thought of her shoes undergoing the same fate as her outfit at the last ball. Despite her rushed exit, she still looked perfectly put together and composed as she had at the beginning of the night. How long would that last...

SAPPHIRE SIGHED TO HERSELF, having gotten swept away by the flow of people. There were quite a lot of them, she registered. She was glad her anxiety hadn't acted up too much yet, although it was nowhere near safe to assume it wouldn't. She'd lost track of the other girl she'd been with briefly and was hanging around more towards the edges.

She was finally feeling the toll of her terrible sleep schedule, however, meaning she was feeling more tired than she normally would. She didn't see much on the edges and she certainly didn't recognize anyone - not that she would, given her lack of connections. The girl sighed, running a hand through her hair - which didn't work out very well when her fingers jammed into the edge of her mask. She let out a huff of air, taking the mask off - much like most of the other people there had. She felt oddly exposed without it, but she also felt more like she could breathe without the mask.

Having nowhere to put it, she quickly set it down in a safe place by the wall. She would get back to it later... hopefully. Not that she figured she would die, but she didn't really know if she'd be able to find it again, seeing how the number of people walking around would likely end up with the item being kicked. She sighed again, deciding to stay on the edges rather than trying to get back into the fray and get jostled around.

As the group followed the cat, they passed by the costume party. Sapphire hadn't much been intrigued by it, since it wasn't really her style - or maybe it wasn't exactly that, but that she would have felt even more uncomfortable at a loose place such as the other faction of the event. Her brows furrowed at the mildly depressing thoughts.

She noticed one girl looking upon the party in mild disgust for some reason she couldn't fathom. She almost sighed again. Humans were so judgemental. She continued walking, not even bothering to check what was going on in the other area. She didn't need to know and it wasn't really even her business. She had one thing to focus on already and didn't need anything else to overanalyze.

One hand gripped her weapon while the other held the candy she'd found. From the little snippets of conversation she'd heard through the cacophony, many people had found the [sometimes not so] sweet treats, which was both intriguing and mildly disconcerting. She didn't quite know what their purpose was, but they were mildly suspicious. Maybe they were drugged or something. She didn't know, but she would find out - maybe.

There were also others casting Revelio on their candies. She herself decided not to do so, allowing other people to take that role. (Not that she was going to leave all the work to them - she just didn't feel like doing it.) There's gotta be something we're missing, she thought. I mean, besides the ghost's name. At this moment, we're aimlessly following an apparition of a cat - one which we don't really even know what it is. Is it a Patronus or a ghost? And how did these candies get here in the first place? Did the cat do that or is it some sort of outside force?

Percival's eyes widened as Opeila grabbed his hand dragging him after the weird cat. This didn't bother him seeing as he wanted them to stick together already. Percival doubted anything good would come from venturing off alone. Especially, after the events of the Blossom ball. He was truly glad the two of them were staying close to one another. It seemed like tonight would not be a normal night, and he hoped for once it would be a positive thing.

The pair followed the group of students pushing their way outside of the ballroom. He had faith that they could stick together, and figure out the secrets of the cat. The two would forge the tide together. Or, at least he had thought at first. Percival felt his hand being ripped away from Opeila's tight grip. It felt like the crows were pushing in. Effectively, separating the two from one another. The boy's eyes widened as he looked around in the crowd for Opeila. His eyebrows furrowed as he glanced around. The boy did his best to look over the heads of the many children. Some more familiar than others. As he looked about the crowd, the boy would keep an eye out for the cat as he glanced about the crowded area.

Percival worked his way through the crowd keeping a lookout for Opeila. His eyes caught a shimmery blue dress farther away from him. If the dress belonged to the right girl, then that meant that Opeila was possibly waiting for him. The boy perked up slightly making his way near the edge of the crowd. As the crowd began thin out near the edges, Percival was able to locate his date rather quickly. The boy stopped in front of Opeila giving her a small smile. Percival wanted to say something witty in that moment. Though he found himself unable to come up with anything. So instead, Percival decided to stick with something simple. "Hey." he said raising his right hand slightly in greeting.

Lagging far behind the main body of the group was one disgruntled lion. As he scrambled down the hall in pursuit of the last person he had seen depart the ballroom, a multitude of emotions lay entangled within his chest. One such emotion was that of excitement.
Since becoming acquainted with the existence of magic and a school named for the evident skin problems of a hog, the first-year had dreamed of adventure - learning powerful spells, exploring less than safe areas, and hunting down mysterious creatures. Considering the situation, he reckoned he could safely cross the latter point off the list, his heart beating quickly with an undeniable measure of anticipation. It was what he had dreamed about for months; and yet, somehow it had been tainted. Somehow he could not experience the complete joy that he had pictured upon the threshold of unprecedented adventure.

Finally, he caught up to others, distant eyes staring across the small crowd of students that had gathered. For a few moments, he merely stood there in a bit of a stupor as his mind raced desperately to catch up to the present situation. Before it had a chance to even the race, however, his gaze came to rest on red hair. Though the girl’s face remained hidden behind a mask, her attire was all too familiar.
A large part of him - the impulsive portion of his personality that normally dictated so much of his life - wanted to approach her, to confess his confusion and get the answers that he so desired. But this time, he willed himself to hold back, for what was the point? Clearly his presence had been insufficient for her. Perhaps it was his fault, perhaps not; it didn’t matter either way. The regrettable fact still remained, and it appeared that wasn’t going to change.

So instead, he cast his gaze around the area, dejection and disappointment mingling with the excitement in his heart.
Given the relatively small size of the group, he quickly spotted Leonard, engrossed in conversation with two unfamiliar boys.
Crossing to his friend, he placed a reprimanding hand on the Slytherin’s shoulder. ”Leo, what do you think you’re doing, screaming in my face and then running off in a panic like that?” he exclaimed, still slightly out of breath from the mad dash there. ”It ought to be illegal.”
Turning to address the two strangers, he raised one hand in greeting. ”Hello there, good sirs! Who might you be? I’m Marshal, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. It seems you’ve already met my pal, Leonard, who only just concluded a speech concerning my unparalleled brain power.” He patted Leo on the shoulder. ”Really do appreciate that, by the way.”
Marshal wanted to forget about the results of his disastrous ‘date,’ and the best way he knew to do so was by involving himself in cheerful conversation with a friend.

But all fun and games aside, he had entirely no clue what could be done about the party-crashing ghost’s absurd lack of useful information. Marshal decided then and there that if he ever required the use of an informant, he would hire basically anyone over mister No-Name the ghost. Truly sloppy work, if you asked him.
”Now, concerning this emergency thing,” he continued. "I think the answer is simple, really. He told us loud and clear what to say if we needed his help, don’t you remember? ‘Say my name,’ he said. So what are we waiting for?” He turned momentarily away from the others, cupping his hands around his mouth and saying loudly, ”My name!”
Yes, it was a joke. No, he couldn’t think of anything better, so here he was, appearing as a fool to everyone around him and, once again, being okay with that.

Shrugging his shoulders, he returned a half-grin to Leo and the two strangers. ”I say we call the ghost Phil, in light of his failure to fill us in on the details.”
When drawing a laugh from his crowd, a comedian might say in jest, ‘Thank you. I’ll be here all week.’ Well, barring an abrupt death or something of the sort, Marshal was undoubtedly going to be there all week. Sadly, it was unlikely that anyone wanted him to be.

Following the Ghost out into the Hallway didn't take much time, especially not while on a broom, even with the weight of three people on it. The murmur of curious students on the lookout for mystery was a good indicator of where to go, so Ruka did his best to steer his broom alongside the excited chatter. With the occasional look over his shoulder, he made sure to keep at a pace that Dealla would be able to catch up with.

Since it had seemed like her Ball date had taken off, Ruka had expected Dealla to go after him, but instead she seemed to have followed the three boys in green, possibly more in need of some adventure herself than of another dance or a night spent by the refreshments. She couldn't have been too far behind, so Ruka made sure not to overtake too many students as he followed the group towards where he, Jack and Jake had only just come from recently.

Moving through the Rehearsal Room seemed like backtracking to Ruka, felt counterproductive somehow, but he had made the decision to try and solve the mystery of the Ghost Cat, and he was going to take whatever that entailed as gracefully as he could.

Lightly pressing back against Jake in an attempt to give the little badger some comfort, Ruka craned his neck to get a good look at the cat. It seemed like an ordinary ghost, even if the ones he had seen at Hogwarts so far had usually been human, not of animals. He thought he had read somewhere that only witches and wizards turned into ghosts anyway, except for certain circumstances, like horses bound to their riders. It made him wonder, for a short moment, if they were dealing with a ghost at all or something completely different, something created specifically for this little adventure hunt.

Shaking his head off the thought for the moment, Ruka cast another glance behind him in anticipation of Dealla's approach, hands reaching up to remove his own mask in order to grant himself a broader field of vision.

"Think she'll join us?" he asked the two boys behind him, but he didn't really expect them to answer, didn't think either of them had really wasted much thought on whether Dealla was going to follow them or not. He really needed to focus on what was in front of him rather than getting this distracted, but he couldn't help letting his gaze drift between the cat and the direction Dealla would be appearing from if she really was following them anyway.

Clearing his throat, Ruka reached behind him to awkwardly wrap an arm around Jake's shoulders. "See, we get to go on an adventure with a cat," he said brightly, gesturing towards the ghostly creature with raised eyebrows. He deftly tied his mask to the belt strap of his bag before focusing his own concentration on the cat as well.

Think that's actually a ghost? he wondered in a thought only his brother would be able to hear as he narrowed his eyes and steered their broom just a little bit closer to be able to get a better look. Maybe there was something about the translucent creature that was a little more out of the ordinary than would be apparent on a normal ghost.
